Absolutely lovely place in Hanham. Food was amazing, well prepared, fresh and delicious. We ordered 3 dishes and all were very distinctive. I am not a fan of okra sides but this was so tasty that I asked for more. My new place to go if I fancy Indian food.
What a fabulous hidden gem! Food was so tasty and served really quickly and massive portions… it’s a shame we’re leaving for home today as would absolutely eat here again and again! Everything on the menu sounds delicious. I had nachos with pulled pork and my partner had the nacho burger. 10/10 🥰

I had a gluten free skirt steak loaded fries and that was the best steak I've ever ate it was soft gently juicey and full of so much flavour along with the burger 10/10 definitely coming back next weekend
First class service and first class food. Starters, main course and wine were exceptionally good. And excellent value for money. I wish we lived closer to Bournemouth. Would visit often

Sadly it was quite underwhelming. The staff was lovely but the food was very sad and quite expensive for what we got. The pistachio croissant was a big let down too.
Edit (in response to the cafe’s reply):
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I acknowledge that my original review may have been brief, so I’m happy to provide further detail.
I do believe my experience was underwhelming. My dad ordered the poached eggs and bacon on sourdough and when he received the food, it was a big slide of sourdough with two rashers of bacon and two poaches eggs falling to the side. The presentation was quite poor, the bacon was on the drier side and the meal was overall a little tasteless. I can appreciate that he got the exact order - poached eggs with bacon on sourdough - but having eaten that making other times, today’s meal was just underwhelming in comparison. I had the eggs royale, they weren’t bad but again, it was underwhelming. I found the hollandaise sauce to be quite industrial tasting. My mother had the eggs Florentine and she shared the same opinion. None of us said the food was bad. Rather, we found the food to be lacking in some regards, especially considering the prices charged for such. I live in London and was visiting for the weekend; for similar prices, I would expect a higher standard. The pistachio croissant was particularly disappointing for me. The pastry was stale and the creme did not taste of pistachio. Again, given the £4 price tag, I expected better.
I did not indeed ask the staff to remake anything and perhaps you are correct in suggesting I should have.
Of course, no place can please everyone, and I accept that this may not reflect the typical experience at your café. Still, I wanted to share my honest experience.
That said, I do want to emphasise that the staff were absolutely lovely and contributed positively to our visit.
You won’t beat this place. The food is amazing. It’s a regular stop for us, whether it’s their winter warmer soup and crumble for lunch or the main menu. You won’t be disappointed.
The days of drinking a good pint of Bass in a CAMRA listed heritage interior are gone, but things are looking up at the Crown again after three landlords have made a mess of it. The 2021 remodelling replaced the cosy lounge bar with an expensive "Uruguayan grill" with an emphasis on cocktails, which unsurprisingly failed to work in this off-town centre location with no parking. We're left with a strange hybrid to which three successive managers have struggled to attract the local community back. But new manager Kai is starting to turn things round. He's simplified the menu (including the best mac and cheese I've ever tasted) and there's cask ale again from Blindmans. I hope this lovely historic pub flourishes again and recovers its role as a focal point of the Keyford community.
