Had a voucher for afternoon tea, having read the reviews we were slightly dubious and unfortunately we were right to be. Food arrived after 40 mins, it was clearly all previously frozen as some of the cakes were freezing, scones the worst I've ever tasted and rock hard. Chipped crockery and stained tea pots etc. Overall a very underwhelming experience and I felt sorry for people coming in and paying almost £40 for this afternoon tea, dreadful, would never return.
The food was average bigger portions needed but the staff were very disrespectful and rude towards us and as soon as she saw me leaving a bad review she started to be nice to us because she was afraid of the consequences
We had a 3 course meal here and it was very good.
Starters of Chicken and Shiitake Mushroom terrine with Parma Ham and veloute cauliflower.
Main courses of Pork Belly, Cavolo Nero and Apple Crumble and Apple Sauce was very good.
The french wine we had was full bodied and tasty and the desserts of cheese board and passion fruit cheesecake was very good.
Food absolutely disgusting.. wouldn’t feed half of it to a dog.. 7 of us visited for lunch after attending a business meeting in Stokenchurch.. Drinks were fine, we sat in the garden on basic pub bench table with no parasols which was needed on a hot day.. there was a wire hanging around (see pic) which could be dangerous if children touched it, should really be taped off or removed considering the garden is geared towards children. Food took around half an hour to arrive after ordering.. we were informed 15 minutes after ordering there were no paninis so could only have a sandwich.. surely we should have been advised of this sooner so we could maybe choose something different as we were pushed for time.. Anyway.. onto the food! OMG, my colleagues tuna sandwich was inedible (see pic) bread was thin white sliced value bread that was soaking wet with tuna juice.. my other colleague had Hunters Chicken and the cheese on the top was so burnt she couldn’t cut through it.. chicken was rubbery and tough and inedible.. tuna jacket potato was dry, no butter and mushy tuna.. BLT sandwich was again thin bread that seemed to have been slightly toasted but tasted like it had been left out to become dry! However.. another colleague had a pie and she said that was nice.. so one good meal out of 7… the chef needs sacking or re training as this really lets the place down.. we will never return!
How has this place only got 3.5 stars. Food amazing, atmosphere amazing. Packed out place that’s buzzing with the sounds of people enjoying great food and drink. This was our first time here and it certainly won’t be the last. We enjoyed some amazing tapas dishes. The quality, taste and presentation was excellent. Staff were lovely and service was good. Before we ordered we were told there would be a half hour wait for food. I like that they were honest and told us. So many places don’t communicate like this. Thank you to all the staff that made our evening a great one
Good place with efficient staff and value for money range of food. Popular with many to simply have coffee, cake and natter with friends. Lunches are pleasant too. On edge of popular garden centre. Nothing to fault.
Delicious fish and chips, everyone very happy with the food they recieved!
The cheesy chips are incredible too, dont skimp on the cheese.
Reieve a good portion for price paid.
Lovely food highly recommended, staff friendly and professional. Met up with friends who were staying here so decided to have something to eat before we went into town. Even my husband whose normally very fussy, had no complaints. Would eat here again.
Coffee shop is nicely located has a small outside seating. I live close by and every time I come in it’s always messy inside and the table outside are with dirty cups. Service is sometimes okay and most of the time below average. One guy make a nice coffee when he is in shift but when he is not the milk is always boiled and you can’t drink the coffee once you sit down. Place has lots of potential and improve on small things that can a make a difference.
So I left an outstanding previous review on this place but since revisiting I ordered a Kabab.
Paying a hansom price, but now the owner was demanding that I pay £1.50
For a tiny chill pot of sauce they wanted me to pay £1.50 if I had peppers sorry guys I thought this was included in the price for a kebab not extra that I already had paid for also where is the lemon slice all you get is heaps of red cabbage that will soak into your half a pitta bread yes half of a pitta bread they don’t provide you with the full pitta bread. Hardly any salad What a letdown this place used to be good and its not a cheap experience.
So I’m buying a tiny bread 4 pieces of meat, and then have to buy the rest of the kebab separately good luck with your business plan.
