As an ex owner of a chippy I must say the welcome was warm 🙂 the chips cooked freshly all in all service with a smile will try the kebab next time but this evening my pie n chips hit the spot 😋. Thank you guys nice welcome for me as new in the area.

Just picked up small chips, got them back to my home within 90 secs and chips are barely warm...

I ordered fish and chips . Both was cold and soggy fish was taste so off it’s seems like was cooked ages ago even chips was same

Curry roll was rock hard so went in the bin. Curry sauce was gloopy. Chips OK but wont be going back

One of the few chippies to open on a Sunday evening. Don't ask for medium chips if you only want a few. Fish was well-cooked (not over-cooked) and quite crispy.

So after trying every single chip shop (pretty much) in High Wycombe and being totally dissatisfied (and sick from the chips on some occasions) we decided to drive out a bit further and try Smarts...And We have not been disappointed!! This is the only place we feel does decent chips and the food is always delicious we have never had any issues. We wouldn't go anywhere else now.

Only go here to get chips for my wife as she loves them. Standard fish and chip shops, nothing to shout about.

Thought I would try this chippy after my bad experience at New Garden Fish Bar. Staff were very miserable and the food has been cooked in old oil and has been sat in the fish display for sometime. All Businesses have hard times due to COVID but no attempt to rectify and uphold any acceptable standard. Won’t be surprised if this place closes down soon. I wouldn’t recommend at all. Don’t waste your money and find a better chippy.

Always get good quality food, well prepared, cooked fresh, polite and friendly service, overal 100% fast service with a smile.

Service is great but food lacked flavor

Smarts Takeaway one of my favourite Halal fish and chips, Kababs and burger shops in High Wycombe. Staff: The Staff are always lovely and friendly and always welcoming when visiting the shop. Quality of food: The Fish is always well cooked, and made fresh. The Chips are a lovely portion size also cooked nicely and crispy. The other items such as burgers and pies are also very tasty and delicious. Hygiene: Inside the shop its always clean and tidy, counter service always clean. Regularly disinfected and cleaned while customer are waiting. Halal: The menu has mostly Halal items and they are cooked nicely and well prepared. Ordering: I have made several orders from home and then collected from the shop and the food has always been packed nicely and very hot when opened to eat. Menu: I have also attached a colour copy of the up-to-date menu to my review. Parking: Outside the SMARTS TAKEAWAY there is a free parking space where Tesco, Lloyds Pharmacy, Peri Peri Shop and flower shop all use the free car park spaces just in front of them. Recommendation: Always recommend to my friends and family as they shop has not let me down with its food quality and customer service.

Have been going to this place since 2006, unfortunatley it's been going down hill. Cod and chips, cod was oily as hell and the chips were hard and tasted like they had been sat there most of the day. Time to find a new chippy.

Chips were dry and sausage had clearly been sat there for ages. It's unfortunate that these type of independent businesses can't hit a good standard.

Got fish and chips here. The chip seemed to be from lunch time and warmed up and the fish wasn't very nice either.

One of the worst place to eat food in uk, very rude staff, food is disgusting, cold, no taste, waste of money, better of starving. Chips taste nasty, fish was dry batter was peeling off, honestly I don't know how long they will survive like this colour didn't look good.. came home i tried it all went in the bin! Lovely fish and chips good customer service

Went in to get cod and chips for a late lunch. The cod was cooked when I arrived but just left in the fryer so was over cooked and burnt on the ends. The fish was so dry on the sides due to it being overcooked. As I was eating it I found a hair inside the fish which just put me off so I threw it all away. Very disappointed especially after paying what I did.

Cooked in dirty oil, chips were discoloured, black specs on chips from over used oil, old refried chips mixed with fresh cooked ones, made me feel sick. Threw it in the bin. Everything over priced for the quality

Absulote rubbish...so much grease there wasn't a crisp bit in the whole fish. Will never go again .The worst fish and chips I have ever had.

Not the best! Chips are cold, old and shrivelled dry mess. The kebab has a weird chemical taste. The staff all unhappy no cheer just yes! Not worth the time or effort and waste of money!

Why on earth do they wrap the fish and the chips in ordinary paper? It just disintegrated in all the fat and sticks to the fish. Worse still, bits of shredded paper mix with the chips. When put into a plastic bag for carrying home, this just steams the food into a soggy mess. They need to use greaseproof paper as the initial wrap, then paper, and why not a paper takeaway bag? Overall verdict: YUK

Best fish and chips in this part of town

We had a 45 minute wait for a bus after a lovely wrestling show (once in a lifetime) as we didn't factor Saturday evening bus times. We wondered around with hunger in our eyes! We decided upon Smarts fish and chips instead of the kebab van as we thought it would be of a superior quality. We went for a safe bet haddock and chips for me and chips and mushy peas for the Vegan girlfriend. We may as well have ordered greasy cardboard as this is what everything tasted of except for the mushy peas which tasted neither of pea or mush but more of a musty bitter spread of green stuff. Needless to say we where dissatisfied with the food and would not recommend this place. But we did get the bus in the end!

Soggy anaemic chips. Fish cakes had no crunch. Staff all miserable. I won't be going back!
