The best restaurants in Wescott Wokingham South East

We haven’t had a takeaway from Sultan, since pre-Covid, we were very disappointed and from another review, it reads as though there has been new owners in the mean time. My husband & daughter chose chicken korma and both were disappointed, my husband said he wouldn’t have known it was a korma and my daughter didn’t eat it as she said it wasn’t like any korma she had eaten before and was too perfumey. I had chosen a chicken biriani which I found too spicy and I agree with another review I read that the vegetable curry sauce was made using a packet of frozen veg- diced carrots, corn, green beans & broad beans. We also had Bombay Aloo & mushroom Bhaji. Delivery was earlier than estimated and the food was hot. We found it to be overpriced when compared to the quality of the food.

This restaurant has got to be one of the most pretentious and worst in Wokingham. The staff are ignorant and arrogant, the chef could not take any criticism of his food even though he served frozen cheese that was fried off and bland. He then proceeded to leave the kitchen and paced past us staring at our table. I asked a simple question whether his food was frozen and I was met with complete distastefulness towards my question. Almost to the point that they were surprised someone called them out on their subpar food that was planned and lacked any Italian authenticity. I ordered the italian cheese as a starter and then the veal as a main. We ended up walking out halfway through our sitting and I paid the full amount because I felt sorry for the establishment. The atmosphere and vibe within the restaurant when we visited felt old dated and lacking any sort of innovation over the last 15 to 20 years. I strongly recommend you visit their competitor within the town hall - Piccolo Arco.

Whenever I am in the Wokingham area I always come to this amazing restaurant! The staff are always really friendly, service is great, the food is delicious with perfect portion sizes, and the atmosphere is wonderful. The menu has a great selection of incredible Italian cuisine. If you so desire to sit outside there is a great area out the back of the restaurant to do so. So overall this restaurant is the perfect place to come if you want to have a splendid meal for all ages!

Poor service and average food. Really disappointed as one of the few independent restaurants in Wokingham but we won’t be returning. Food was dull, under-seasoned, and lacking any real flavour.

Dropped two stars because, staff ask whether you are drinking in or takeaway. Me being honest, I said drinking in and pay for the privilege, but there were a lot of people who clearly paid for a takeaway drink (who have takeaway cups) which is cheaper and sit in to have it. The staff should enforce this, or don't charge different prices to drink in and takeaway!! And FAR too many dogs inside !!

I popped into Eats 101 for a breakfast and enjoyed it very much. The husband and wife team were very friendly and helpful. This is not a "fancy" establishment but do not let the décor put you off.

Quite probably the worst curry I’ve ever had. We called in to order a takeaway which confused them and they didn’t apply the collection discount ! When we got the curry home it was almost cold despite actually having literally just collected it from the restaurant ourselves having waited for it to be cooked.. I had a Jafrezi which was just a greasy brown mush with tough chicken. My partner had a biryani which was completely tasteless. Cold rice - congealed greasy and tough chicken. Avoid ! If I could give zero rating I would.

Authentic and fabulous. Tasty and carefully prepared food. Polite and attentive service. Lovely setting and thoroughly recommended.

Really nicely blended food and great flavours. Railway Lamb was gorgeous and had a bit of a kick and the street food options all delicious. Will order again soon!

Just not worth the money - ribs and chicken all tough and the prawns were cold and tasted odd - no flavour at all ,the only plus was the prawn crackers I won’t order fro Hakka no more ,very poor indeed 👎👎👎👎👎

Great whisky tasting evening at the Leafy Elephant. Ollie was a brilliant and very knowledgeable host. The nest is a very unique and chilled area to retreat and enjoy the excellent choice of whisky and rum. Can't wait to come back.

Brilliant fish and chips! The quality of both the fish and the batter is great. One of the best in the area, from my experience! Chips are good too…

Dinner was nice but the slow service made the meal a bit of a bore to be honest. Breakfast on the other hand because it was buffet style was a pleasure and the ingredients all good quality. Looked like understaffed dining room was the problem with only one lady rushed off of her feet taking orders and clearing tables. Value was decent at £30 pp for a three course meal although the obligatory supplements were added if you wanted steak or lamb. Love the hotel but probably would seek to eat dinner out next time.
