Fabulous! The food was delicious and the staff were spot on. Very friendly and happy to give us something that wasn’t on the menu. All in all, we had a great experience. Highly recommend.

I booked a table for 8 people, 19 days in advance, via the website and received a confirmation by email. When we arrived at the restaurant they had no record of my booking but, as it wasn't busy (luckily), a table was set up for us. I did not know that the restaurant was under new ownership and was disappointed to find that the menu had changed. Some of our favourites had been removed (Tandoori butterfly king prawn and large tandoori lamb chop starters and all Thali dishes). The website states "15% off dine-in" which we didn't receive, and would have been significant as we spent >£400. We were about to be overcharged for the new starter of 3 tandoori lamb chops until I noticed an error on the bill. The website states £9.95, the in-restaurant menu states £12.95 (which we paid) but they were £15.95 on the bill - which was quite significant as 4 of us ordered these. All of the above is a shame as the food, apart from some over-cooked and tough calamari starters, was very good and flavoursome. Maybe these are teething problems. I expressed our disappointment and said that we wouldn't be back any time soon.

A great meal from start to finish. We sat upstairs, decor was lovely, atmosphere relaxed and staff very attentive. The food was absolutely fabulous, tasty and fresh. Servings are very generous! Tableware was beautiful. Well worth a visit if you want Indian food and a nice evening. It is also very good value and does not seem overpriced like some places in the area.

12 of us there for a birthday surprise. Food was delicious, easily the best in Wokingham and surrounding area. Staff really friendly and our host , Anthony, was very accommodating. Highly recommended 👌

Went for dinner last night, it was a real treat. Lovely food and great service. All restaurants are expensive now but we felt we got value for money. Good menu choices and nice to try something a bit different from the regular curry, delicious. We have been twice now and will be going back again.

I was tasked with finding a restaurant for 7 work colleagues from across the Uk. I have previously had meals at the Sultan and decided it would be the best bet. We weren't disappointed. The menu isn't box standard and is Indian with a contemporary twist. The food was presented really nicely, steaming hot and delicious. Not one person in the party had a negative word to say. Would highly recommend.

We had not been here since Pre-Covid and wow what a change! Not only has the restaurant been refurbished to a lovely standard but the menu has been totally re-designed. The menu feels like an Indian version of tapas (I think it's called Thali) with numerous smaller/starter dishes. Traditional Indian dishes are also available if you are unfamiliar with some of the creations. We tried Paneer Haloumi Tikka and Curry Leaf Calamari (the tastiest calamari ever) as an example of dishes not previously found elsewhere in the area. The service and welcome are first class too. If you want to venture a little off the traditional curry experience this is a top place.

Went with 3 friends on Wednesday evening. It had a nice atmosphere, the service was very good and the food was extremely tasty.

Absolutely fantastic flavoursome food with friendly attentive staff. The ambiance makes it a real experience for a night out. We will definitely be back again soon.

We thought we’d try a different place to our usual and oh my word, I’m so glad we did! This will now be our local! Amazing new style of dishes, we are vegan and they had plenty on their menu for us, I felt like it wasn’t just a dish without the meat, each of the dishes were well thought out and bursting with flavour! Ambience is very nice and cosy. Tasty Indian food. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Anthony was fantastic and he has excellent customer service skills. Will surely visit again to be served by Anthony :-) highly recommended if you want to eat authentic Indian food.

I've been coming to Sultan's for about 20 years and we went again last night for a small family reunion.The restaurant is still the same in appearance as it was 20 years ago, which is actually a good thing because it is a beautiful building and nicely decorated inside. The food is always yummy. Last night we shared chicken tikka masala and butter chicken (couldn't tell the difference between these two - both lovely), lamb passanda, lamb chilli masala (if you like spicy food, I definitely recommend this one), a brindl bhaji and naan breads. All the food is lovely. Service is great. Well priced. Shame there are no longer any desserts on offer but the free sambuca went down well.

The food tastes great and cooked fresh. The building is a historic one so gives you a comfortable experience of the past, with exotic pure Asian food. Food quality is a top notch! Highly recommended

A great meal out with friends, lovely atmosphere, great friendly service and delicious food.I had half tandoori chicken, with brinjal bhaji and a man bread- superb!My friend tried the Thali - 11 small dishes - which she really enjoyed.And although they don't do desserts I asked for an Indian rice pudding and got a complementary portion of beautifully fragranced pudding!

Do you not order any prawn dishes unless you want an upset stomach. Great staff but cannot recommend the food here.

The tables in the first floor of this restaurant are very close together despite the fact they have downstairs area which is rarely used. Service was slow and regular customers were obviously getting better service than us. It makes sense to look after regular customers but this should be seamless and not make others feel like an inconvenience. The food is OK but there are better Indian restaurant experiences to be had in Wokingham.

Fresh and flavourful food, went with the owner/waiters recommendation as he was very passionate about the food and I wasn’t disappointed!

We had a wonderful evening, with my wonderful cousin and her great friend. Food was wonderful, as was the service and staff. I was visiting from US, so was desperate for some really lovely Indian food, and it was divine. Second visit and I was not disappointed.

Now will be my regular restaurant I use from now on. Lovely food. Really tasty and great quality. Delivered earlier than stated which was a bonus. Driver was happy, polite and had change (believe me many don't carry change and ends up taking and pocketing the extra without giving me the choice).

Food was excellent however the order was immediately delayed by 10 minutes as soon as it was confirmed and then it was a further 20 minutes late after that delay.

Attentive, friendly service without being pushy or obtrusive. We had 2 lamb dishes and 1 Chicken Tikka dish, all were beautifully spiced with a fresh spice taste, red hot plates and the lamb was honestly the best we've ever had in an Indian restaurant, very moist, melt in the mouth. Highly recommended. Downstairs may look empty, but this is because the main restaurant is upstairs in an olde worldy building.

Food was lovely full of flavour and you can really taste the tikka spices. It also arrived 20 mins early which was great. However, the main dish was cold and I ordered lemon rice but got pilau. It was still gorgeous.

We have eaten at the Sultan Balti Palace before and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our return visit far exceeded our already high expectations! The service was excellent, we were allowed time to choose our meal without feeling hurried and the waiter was on hand to offer advice when needed. In fact the service can only be described as excellent! The menu is comprehensive, I can recommend the Tandoori mixed grill whilst my wife thought the Tandoori king prawns were the best she had eaten. The head waiter/manager was most attentive and suggested we try the complementary Onion Bhaji which were delicious. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant which in my opinion is by far the best In the local area.

Great food and very tasty will be using these again.

Me and my friends visited this restaurant and couldn’t have asked for a better service. The staff were friendly and were having a laugh with us throughout the entire duration of our stay. The food was the best I’ve ever had at an Indian restaurant and I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone. We even knocked over a drink and it went into a dish that was on the table, so they insisted they replaced the dish with a brand new one. Lovely restaurant.

It was our first visit last night to the Sultan Balti after moving to the area and we were extremely pleased with our meal. It was a lovely meal with good sized portions and we are sure this will become our local regular Indian!

delivery was late, food was cold. food tasted ok but would of been a lot nicer if hot.

Biriyani was good. Seekh Kebab is excellent. Chicken Ceylon is not good. Dint like the taste, it was too sweet.
