Dinner was nice but the slow service made the meal a bit of a bore to be honest. Breakfast on the other hand because it was buffet style was a pleasure and the ingredients all good quality. Looked like understaffed dining room was the problem with only one lady rushed off of her feet taking orders and clearing tables. Value was decent at £30 pp for a three course meal although the obligatory supplements were added if you wanted steak or lamb. Love the hotel but probably would seek to eat dinner out next time.

Despite the rather bland interior - the service was prompt, friendly and efficient. While the menu was limited, the food was of an acceptable standard and reasonably priced for this type of establishment. Mohammed, the restaurant manager, kept a close eye on things and was extremely diligent in keeping things on track - very professional and friendly. Well done to him and his team!

Afternoon tea: we had a series, four I believe, of waiting staff. The first was offering table water before I sat down.A second came to enquire what drinks we wanted (no menu) but when he brought them asked for any dietary requirements. Said ‘no cheese’. He brought the afternoon tea, half of the sandwiches containing cheese! The others were egg mayo and a mashed tinned tuna with no other filling. The tuna was on a soft brown bread. No description of the cakes /tarts on the top tier, they seemed to be tiny macarons, one each of chocolate, coffee, lemon and a red fruit. There were four bite sized sponge cakes which were probably Victoria sponges but there was no taste and the cream seemed synthetic. The sponge also was sticky to touch as if these had been frozen beforehand. There were a couple of tarts with chocolate shavings, but as I didn’t eat mine, not sure what was it was really. The scones however were good and seemed freshly made. Back to the sandwiches: another waitress came to check if we were’OK’ and quickly said she would change the sandwiches, which took ten minutes of so to reappear. All were on soft white bread, possibly from a sliced loaf. There were eight small triangles, four with egg mayo and four with ham and a generous spread of an English mustard butter. Overall, textureless and pretty tasteless, unless you like English mustard.

We live very close by to hotel and visit possible twice a month or more when weather is good! This venue really is a hidden gem! The views are fantastic! Mohammed,Pedro, Vikki and jazzy are always so so helpful! As are other bar staff...Food is ALWAYS cooked fresh and is piping hot, which I find is a rarity these days! I recommend the cheeseburger and hubbyblikes the Cesar salad! There is always a good selection of Beers on tap as well as a good choice of wines and gins! We really do love coming here!. Unfortunately due to change of management in the So called spa area I have cancelled my membership to the gym and pool, having been a member for several years. This will not stop us using the bar and restaurant as we absolutely love it here. Thanks guys.

Booked afternoon tea at the Omnia restaurant in the Hilton Hotel Wokingham. It was a surprise for my wife who was very excited when we arrived. Turned out to be a total disaster. The table was not ready so we had to wait to be seated. We were not given a selection of tea to choose from, just offered English Breakfast tea and had to ask if other types were available. After being seated we waited patiently for the sandwiches and cakes to arrive. After about 10 minutes or so I large number of guests with packed lunches started filling the area. Clearly there was a conference of some sort going on and we were now in an environment that felt more like a works canteen than a hotel restaurant. After 30 minutes without any service I went to find a member of staff to check on progress. I was told that the chef had lost the ticket and told that the food would be 5 minutes. 15 minutes later we were still waiting and walked out in disgust. Very poor standard and not what should be expected from a Hilton .

Part of the hilton hotel, their resturant is quite good we had bigger table as we were a party of 12. Nice choice on the menu both of food and drinks. Shrimps was a starter was good, 3 big pieces, not cleaned but easy to do with hands, tasty and not big portion but tasty. For the main sea bass fillets, with vegis and sauce on top. Nice, tasty fillets good fit to sauce, lots of greens and fries to the side. Decent size of main. Good service, was quite full resturant. Good white from new zealand along.

We arrived on Friday lunchtime and left Sunday afternoon as we were running a conference. The breakfast buffet (included in our deal) each morning was good, with lots of choice. The staff were friendly and attentive and Marianna was great at looking after us and our group. As part of our conference, we had lunch buffets included, which were mainly good and catered for a lot of dietary requirements. However, everything else was expensive and poor quality. If you look at the menu, the food sounds like it should be good and, for the prices shown, you expect good quality and/or quantity. I ordered a Dirty Burger on the first night, which was very average and the "portion" of chips amounted to about 12 limp chips, all for £15! On another night I was tempted to go for the buffet, although I was only really looking for a main course. The buffet, whilst having some nice looking food options, was limited and in no way justifying it's £26 price tag. From experience of seeing others in our party ordering mains from the menu, I was left disillusioned with eating in the restaurant and was seconds away from ordering takeaway. My wife order a brisket and cheese toastie, which was cold on arrival and understandably was put off by having mouthfuls of congealed and cold melted cheese. Despite the friendly and apologetic staff, food always seemed to take an age to appear. Given the size of our party on the first night (19 people) we offered to pre-order our food, with our choices handed over mid-afternoon. We booked for 7pm, yet the first meals came out at 8:30pm! Given that Hilton Hotels are generally more expensive than your average hotel, I was expecting much more of Omnia's food. I generally don't mind paying more for food if I know the quality is good, however I was left very disappointed by the food and price. Even the drinks were sold for a very high premium, with a 330ml bottle of lager costing £6.40 and a small mojito £11! I would not book to eat at this restaurant again unless there are some major changes to improve quality and/or reduce costs.

I eat here often, as this is the hotel I stay in whilst working for one of my local clients. The overall food quality is very poor, regardless if you go for a buffet or a la carte option. Soups a la carte have a 'straight from the can' quality, spaghetti with meatballs has overcooked pasta, tomato soup as a sauce and hard to chew meatballs made from low quality meat. Sea bass was OK, but the potato mash was not great... I mean - how can one mess this up? Strawberries which are offered for breakfast are often rotten and still served as an option... Once I have been given rotten freshly sliced peppers... I have also been given margarine instead of butter... All of this is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel.

It started well, the staff were friendly and quite helpful, although slow to take a drinks order. (There were 8 of us and we arrived as a four followed by four more.) Main courses looked OK although on the expensive side. The waitress was very helpful to find options to suit a member of our party who needed gluten free food.Bread was too salty and the butter frozen, but the second lot of garlic and rosemary bread was better.Sadly my main course was rather lacking in the wow factor. The Salmon and sea bass were quite well cooked, but the 'saffron potatoes' were just two sad boiled affairs and the asparagus slightly overcooked for my liking. Some kind of stock/broth on the side was too oily and not flavoursome enough to add anything to the dish. I ended up pinching my friends skin on fries for some welcome texture to the dish. Not great for £19. Other diners in our party seemed to enjoy the burgers and duck though. However, pudding was less than OK. Not the cheapest at £7/£8 a go, but would have been worth paying for something well made. Sadly it appeared that the puds are bought-in affairs. The choc caramel tart many of our party went for was liked by some and hated by others. I tried some – it was very sickly, very treacly 'caramel'. My choice (fool) sounded good on paper: "Mango charlotte, mango and passion fruit sorbet, mango pearls and pear crisps." Well, the sorbet looked OK, but lacked zing, the charlotte was like one of those instant puds you get at an all-you-can-eat buffett – a bit meh. Soft mousse thing in skinny sponge. And where were the mango pearls and the pear crisps? I eventually flagged down a waitress to ask, (they appeared to have abandoned out table by this point and were clearing up the restaurant) and she went to the kitchen to enquire. She popped back with a small dish of pear things. Soggy slices like those hideous dehydrated apple things. No crisp, no crunch, no finesse. (Not cored or thinly sliced or peeled...) No chance to ask about the pearls either. I didn't want to bang on about it too much as I was part of a party, but as the plates were cleared I mentioned to the waitress (again) my disappointment and the lack of pearls... and was told that perhaps they were part of the creamy part. er, what? I reiterated that on the menu it doesn't say 'mango pearls in the cream' it is listed as an element of the dessert. Anyway, no offer of any recompense. Hard luck it would seem. At this point I kind of gave up, as all the staff had clearly given up on us. No water being refilled, no offers of additional drinks / coffees / bill. If they had wanted us to go, it would have been prudent to perhaps offer coffee at the bar? It wasn't overly later either 10:15ish.No dessert removed or reduced on the bill either. A poor finish to a promising start, and the menu could definitely do with some updates to the descriptions.

Visual presentation of food is great. The restaurant took absolutely forever to bring our bill (please note drinks are not included in your two course dinner- so be prepared for this!) the two-course dinner was so-so. The meat-eaters loved the duck and beef main courses however they have a very limited and unappealing selection of vegetarian options (spinach curry tasted like it was tinned) but the desserts were to die for.. I'm referring to the a la carte menu here as we found out on the last day of our stay that the restaurant also offers a buffet dinner- can't comment on the buffet dinner but the buffet breakfast is fab.

We have been coming to this restaurant for many years. Yesterday evening (15th March) was my Wife's birthday, so we chose this restaurant because we have always had very good food and service here in the past .We waited quite some time for our meals but when they arrived my Wife's sirloin steak was thin and over cooked, which was nothing like our son's who had the same steak, also cooked in the same way. The chips were also soft for all of us. When the 'deserts' arrived, also after a considerable wait, out of the 2 ordered only 1 was served. Now I know we could have said something at the time about the over cooked steak but what could have been down about it. 1. taken away and a new steak cooked? This would have meant she ate hers alone - or 2. All three meals taken away and 2 of them kept warm and the odd one re-cooked.Regarding the missing desert ? ... well as it was mine, and by the time I saw a waitress again I just could not be bothered. On top of this, when it came to paying for the meal we are then told that they no longer accept the Gourmet card.We will not be going there again and I would not recommend this restaurant.

Our waitress (Gabriela) was welcoming and happy - a somewhat unusual thing these days at other restaurants. She was attentive and on the ball - our drinks arrived minutes after we ordered them as did the starters once we were ready to begin the meal.Starters were outstanding as was our meal. Recommended are the Prawns and Avocado starter and the Salmon. We both had the ribeye steak for main and it was a great choice. The 35 day aged steak was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. We have eaten here a number of times only because we use the gym and have a taste card because if we didn't we would never go back. The food is pretty poor, over priced and there is one waiter whom is incredibly rude. It's a shame too as the rest of the staff are lovely and the restaurant and outdoor setting is very nice. They are very welcoming of children too. Unfortunately though we always seem to get the not so nice waiter. I'm astounded he still has a job, if I get to the point of complaining, many must have. If the management read these reviews you really need to send this chap to charm school, he treats everyone like an inconvenience and is costing you money. He is a mature Asian guy, I don't like to single people out but we feel awarding coming into the bar if he is working, we don't like asking for things off him as he always complains. Last time I went for afternoon tea with my friends he was very annoyed by the fact I don't drink tea and coffee so asked for the sparkling tea or a water instead- you'd think spending more money and using less tableware would be a good thing not an inconvenience.

We were a party of five and we booked ahead for lunch as we planned to use a Gourmet Society card when paying. None of us had ever visited the restaurant before. The restaurant decor and furniture looked good but we were the sole party in what is a quite large restaurant. We enquired about some music - to lighten the atmosphere - but it turned out that the music system had broken down. Two significant items on the menu were unavailable. The food was mediocre and not all as described - e.g. "roasted vegetables" turned out to be carrots julienne. I doubt if the three of us who had this dish received as much as half an averagely sized carrot between us - come on! Carrots are about 19p a pound! One portion of Eton Mess contained exactly half a strawberry. The waiter/waitress were very pleasant and the service was acceptable to a little slow. The foreign waiter (Manager?) did not understand English irony - he responded to a remark about the lovely half strawberry by asking if the rest of the dish was nice! Or perhaps that was foreign irony .....

I had expected a nice occasion in the grounds of St. Anne's Manor but was left somewhat disappointed. From the stunted greeting from our server of "Tea or Coffee", the dirty table, the threadbare seats to the store bought desserts (or seemingly), it was certainly not one would expect from what should be the quintessential British experience.£80 bought us 4 pots of twining tea, very average sandwiches, some admittedly nice scones with cream and jam and very average cakes. Oh and 4 champagnes. We were seated for 5 people but my daughter is massively fussy and only ate a little! It was an expensive affair when considering the lack of quality, occasion or consideration made. The only time we saw the servers were when they brought the food out and when we left where we had to find someone to pay the bill. Not once were we asked how the meal was or whether we wanted more drinks, a manicure or even a massage!!Bad service, bad food and a total lack of understanding as to what afternoon tea should be. look elsewhere if this is what you want.

We had an evening meal at St Anne's Manor last evening. A rare family occasion with my husband's family, 8 adults. My father-in-law's request was a 'nice restaurant with white tablecloths'!! On phoning to book, was told that a round table was too small for 8 adults, so settled for the usual long table. Forgot to mention the tablecloth so popped in yesterday afternoon - spoke to Attila who said they don't have tablecloths except in the private suite - what was the reason for my request? On hearing about it, said that they could arrange that, also would get a round table from the conference room, where would we like the table placed??We arrived, had a drink in the lovely conservatory overlooking the grounds, then were shown to our table: round, laid for 8, with a white tablecloth - the only one in the place! In addition to Attila's accommodating our request, the rest of his team were excellent in their service of a very nice meal - all food was demolished very quickly! (I had heard some less good reviews from Trip Advisor about the food so was quite anxious - but had no need to be.) Please pass on our thanks to Attila & team - the whole family was most impressed, especially father-in-law!!

The confit of duck just fell off the bone - delicious. Wine is a little expensive, with prices (for red) starting from £22, then rising to £28 and above, but beer and cider on draught is average, being about £4-£5 a pint. Breakfast is buffet style and is absolutely fantastic - full English, cereal, fruit, continental style, breads and rolls, it's all here and again restaurant staff are efficient, but always with a smile on their faces. The dining experience really was 10/10 for food, presentation and staff.

Can't fault the Restaurant., the food especially, the buffet, was plentiful, hot, well presented and very tasty. In the restaurant, nothing was too much trouble whether it was at dinner or breakfast. The buffet dinner had a fantastic selection of Hot & cold hors douvres, a soup, several hot dishes for anyone's taste even for younger kids who might just want chicken nuggets & chips. There was curry, different types of fish, braised steak, veggie options, loads of salads and the desserts were superb too, tiramisu, trifle, other cakes and fancies, ice-cream, fresh fruit salad & fresh fruit.

The restaurant staff were very professional and polite. We have enjoyed the food served. We had scallops and smoked salmon for starter. It was really tasty although a bit too expensive for a starter. We then had lamb and rib eye steak for main courses. Again, it was really tasty and with good portion size. It's a shame that my husband's main course wasn't served hot.Nevertheless, we had a lovely evening and would be happy to return.

We booked in this restaurant with trepidation due to the previous reviews, our reservations however were unfounded. The good was very tasty indeed, the menu a little limited, but none the less providing a good choice. The service is excellent and above average and the food very tasty and well cooked. The cost is a little expensive, but then it is the Hilton hotel.A definite recommendation.

Food was good quality and not too expensive; pub-style menu but with a page or two of additional more restaurant-like selections. Fairly priced, and service was good - staff very attentive and want to make sure you are happy with selection and service. Were amenable to making substitutions if you didn't want chips with every meal.

food was standard, nothing special or particularly good or bad, prices were absolutely ridiculous. got stung with an £80 bill for a basic meal of 2 fish and chips, 2 drinks, 2 desserts and a side order of chips on the first night

menu would need changing be for we ever thought about going back. not much in good old English cooking and it felt like eating in a travel lodge. The main menu was not what I would have thought the Hilton would have put out not much to chose from or other items added into meals that could not be removed

The chef can't cook and the orders were wrong. Even the coffee in the morning tastes like it has been re-filtered from old grounds.

We went here in February, we received a voucher for a meal for 2 as a chrismas present and the experience was lovely! Obviously as you are able to choose any meal from the menu under the voucher.... we went for the most expensive steak. It was the most beautiful perfect steak meal I have ever had... truely. We were offered bread rolls to start with with a variety of flavours and the puddings were to die for as well. The decor is slighlty old fashion as you would expect but that was the charm of the place, we were left alone with constant badgering as you do with some restaurants and ended up staying for a good few hours. A great experience all around.

The scallops my wife had where plentiful and cooked just right. I had the smoke salmon and crab unfortunately I had to look for the crab?? Overall this was a very pleasant meal, maybe a bit expensice without a deal. Also the restaurant was very bright therefore not the ambience one would probably look for

Celebrated my birthday there last night and enjoyed the evening. Did have to send back my starter (salmon and crab with rosemary toasted bread) as the bread was burnt - no problem as they were very apologetic and did bring back the freshly toasted slice quickly.Loved my main (sea bass, cod and tiger prawns) and so did my husband (who dined on steak), and the glasses of prosecco were delightful.Quiet in there, but we did sit down early at 7pm and by the time we were leaving, the restaurant was getting busier.

Visited the restaurant yesterday for my daughter's brithday, ordered two glasses of champaign & one hot chicken & bacon bagette (£11) plus one smoked salmon sandwich (£9). We decided to share & started on the hot sandwich, mine started to crumble apart, the bacon was over cooked & hard to chew. As it was my daughter's birthday neither of us wanted to say anything to the other one, but when half of the bagette fell apart & it felt rock hard (I could bang it on the table without breaking) I said to my daughter this is terrible & she agreed. She then tried her smoked salmon sandwich & the bread was stale (it must have been a week old). I made a complaint & asked for FRESH food to be served, they replace the smoked sandwich & although it was better than the first, it was obviously also old bread. The food was uneatable & we left it.I felt insulted that they would serve stale food to us at any price, let alone the high priced they charge. BAD FOOD OVER PRICED

Have been many times, food usually very good. Waitress Kaya was lovely - friendly & helpful. Only down side the 'wine offer' we were using did not include my preferred dry rose so we had a dry white instead.

My wife and I saw an advert on our local community group saying this establishment was doing very good fish and chips for take away. On the group site people were saying this cost £7:50 each for fish&chips but you had to order in advance. My wife wife placed an order and on the other end of the phone it sounded like an old lady taking the order, she was very abrupt and wasn’t listening to what was being asked and just kept talking over what my wife was trying to ask. Anyway we eventually placed our order. When we arrived to pick it up my wife went into the side entrance and went to pay, the old lady was quite rude and said it was £8:50 each, when my wife said that on the local page it everyone was saying £7:50. She just brushed it off and said she didn’t know about that, my wife only had £15 in cash and as we had only ordered for 2 this is all she had. There were dogs running around the area as well not very hygienic. The price appears to change depending on who you are as my wife went back to the local group and the members are still saying they pay £7:50. First and last time using this pub takeaway the fish and chips were a small portion for the price.

Lovely place, looks fab since the refurb, amazing outdoor space, so much seating areas. Staff were friendly and welcoming, only reason I have given 3 star is because myself and my husband ordered the tex mex sharer which was supposed to have sweet chilli sauce but instead came drizzled with the ipa hot sauce meaning my husband who dislikes spicy food couldn't eat it. We did check the menu which definatley stated sweet chilli sauce. Unfortunatley we didn't have time to send back and reorder as it was a quick stop half way through a long journey and we needed to move on to avoid bad traffic. Other than that small disappointment the place is lovely and we would still return.

Great place Much improved Lovely new landlords Would never have gone here before due to it's reputation but heard it was refurbished and had clean beer and glasses and no longer full of unsociable types. A credit to Wokingham If they can get a menu going it will be the making of the place. Regardless, a good place for a drink and a game of pool now.

Went for a Sunday roast, the staff were nice, the atmosphere was good but the food was terrible! Probably the worst Sunday roast we’ve had with no taste and not great quality for the price! Unfortunately I don’t think we’d go back again…
