Cheeky night away for 33 year anniversary everything was perfect but the steak and the so called pepper corn source. I questioned it 3 times with the waitress as I am a chef. Turned up brown tasted of bisto gravy with 3 peppercorns in it. Tasted absolutely disgusting. She then came back and said the chef made it out of the steak juices. REALLY. This totally spoilt it for husband , steak was not the best very chewy not worth the money. We were drinking same wine and beer throughout the evening paying cash. £15.05 THEN randomly charged a extra 20p several times why ?Seating area outside our garden room 10 was filthy 2x chairs and 1 table. Cobwebs in the curtains. Nothing special about the view . Dinner was overpriced for what arrived on the plates staff lovely. Location perfect .

Our love of maliks is finally over. We have used maliks for 20 years, it was a luxury Indian dining experience at its best. The GX restaurant started declining before Covid but since the pandemic it isn’t the same. We’ve spoken to the owner numerous times and can tell the passions there anymore. After 3 pretty bad experiences at the GX outlet we decided to do a last minute dinner at Cookham. Started off nicely, but then the mains came. My lamb shashlik was very tough and fatty, more like rough mutton, not warm and certainly far from sizzling. 2 other dishes were like warm and it felt like they’d been left around or reheated. They did replace two discuss but by the time they came back, this time piping hot and the lamb swapped for chicken the rice and sides were cold and the other two in the family had finished. The bill came and was £181 - not a penny knocked off which we challenged. Still after reducing to £160 it was a very poor experience and for £160 I’d expect much more. All excuses throughout, no apology (common with the GX branch) and didn’t seem to remotely understand it wasn’t acceptable. Maliks used to use the best quality meat and products, but it seems the love of the owner has gone and with us so has our custom for good. 4 less than great experiences in a row says it all and we won’t ever be returning. Sometimes places change and you have to live on and this is one of those ocassion. The brand seems to have acquired an arrogance and complacency that has no place in hospitality and is now just a below average Indian with luxury prices.

Great place, we like it here it’s just nice to come to a lovely laid out garden centre which has a variety of all sorts good prices too But we love the cafe/restaurant never had a bad meal always been very good, coffee great too It’s a busy little place friendly staff plenty of room to park always a joy to go

We love this restaurant, but have not been since last December as the set lunch menu hasn't changed. We are regular customers, but having had this menu twice, we won't return until it's changes. We phoned to ask when this would happen, and were told April, but sadly nothing has changed. We enquired again this week and this time we were told it would change in May or June. The menu used to change regularly, but for some reason this isn't happening. What a shame.

Stayed here for a night including having an evening meal. The building itself is fantastic with an old style front section and a more modern open space at the rear. Garden outside is really lovely too. Staff were incredibly welcoming and showed all 3 of us to our individual rooms. The waiter that evening was superb too. Food was incredibly good albeit priced a bit high and the margarita was a bit lacking. Breakfast was spot on. Rooms were really well equipped although in the old building the windows wouldn't open so it got a bit warmer than I like. Absolutely would return.

I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the poor attitude of the hostess. We were left waiting without any attention, and when she finally approached us, she gave us a table without a view, even though all the tables with a view were empty. When I told her that I had made a reservation 15 minutes earlier through the app — and that there was no option to select a specific table — she simply said, “This is all I can do,” without offering any solution or showing concern. Her behavior was rude and unprofessional, and it left us with a very negative impression.
