Authentic South Indian food with rich flavour yet healthy with not too much oily. Bang on the taste buds. Mutton pepper fry with parotha , samosa chat , mutton curry and rasamalai was amazing.

We came here for lunch on our way from London to Scotland, since we had read great reviews about the place. Located on River Thames with a beautiful scenic view, the food and ambience lived up to our expectations. Chef Menon came out himself and gave us his suggestions from the vegetarian menu and ensured his team looked after us wll. Starting with the mocktail (pineapple and coconut cooler) to our starter (chaat) and to the main course (paneer/dal/kofte/peshawari naan), everything was just perfect. And to add cherry on the top was our dessert. We definitely recommend going to this place whenever you want to relish some good Indian cuisine.

Arriving at the hotel in which the restaurant is situated, we had the amazing view of the river and entered the hotel to be welcomed by the staff with happy faces. The staff took us to our seats and were very accommodating of my coconut allergy. They took our order and we enjoyed the view of the river. Shortly after this, the poppadoms were placed before us. These were amazing, I was pleasantly surprised when the smaller poppadoms just melted in my mouth. The chutneys both had an amazing flavour. This was then followed by the starter, the chicken tikka was beautifully moist, with a little kick of spice to it. Then the mains came and the lamb was beautifully tender and the curry was fragrant. The naans also came and they were really nice with the cheese melted just right to get that stringy effect. The puddings came and it was very nice, the honeycomb on the Rasmalai was a nice touch and the vanilla ice cream was very rich and creamy. The drinks we had through the meal were very nice, the mango lassi wasn’t too thick and the mojito was flavoursome and the chilli didn’t make it too spicy. Overall, an amazing meal with amazingly attentive staff. I would definitely recommend eating here.

The setting and view is just wonderful. The food designed by Atal, a prized celebrity chef was over powering in flavour. Starters of paneer and chicken were lovely. The best of the main of monkfish (two small pieces) and lamb was the side of dhal. The dhal was delicious. The sauce to the monkfish was really overpowering and too much. Used a voucher so really nice treat. Desserts lacked any really Asian influences. Free parking which is good but do pop your reg number in the display in reception. Lovely to try something new but didn’t really hit the mark.

The setting is lovely and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We ordered from the a la carte menu. The food overall was very good. The reason for the 4 star was because the chicken tikka starter was very bland. Was not chargrilled had hardly any flavour was like boiled chicken with mint sauce over it. There was no salad with any of the starters either. The monkfish starter was delicious. The portion sizes are very generous. The mains were very good we had the lamb and prawn curries. The pilau rice was in a bit lumpy which makes me wonder how fresh it was. However the meal was tasty. The bread was tasty as were the popadoms at the start of the meal. All in all a lovely early Mother’s Day meal and we would return.

Lovely food - did the tasting menu which is, as usual, delicious. Probably the best tasting menu we've had there. Nice to have a couple of warm first courses, rather than cold ones. We were pretty full by the time the 5th course came out, which is quite a big serving, but we managed. The dessert course was a bit dull compared with all the others - chocolate fondant - would have preferred something lighter and more spiced/different. Matching wines were good. Overall a lovely evening.

This was my 5th visit to Sindhu, and probably my last for a while as the dining experience was just okay this time. The staff were friendly and polite as one would expect, but at times hard to understand when introducing the taster menu courses and supporting wine due to a busy restaurant (great to see a busy restaurant, but just need to reflect service changes at these times). I personally didn’t like 2 of the 7 courses (dumplings and partridge), which is a first with the many tasting menus I have experienced. The small things that matter were missing this visit, eg I accidentally knocked one of the wine flight glasses over and this was not replaced, despite spending over £250; also, acknowledgment for a 5th visit would have been a nice touch too, of which I mentioned when checking in. The first bottle of red I ordered, the Indian Shiraz, was already opened, but fortunately the server realised this just as he was about to serve, so took it away and bought an unopened bottle back, albeit not warmed or time to breath. There was no amuse bouche from the chef, which is something that would have been a nice touch for an award winning restaurant.

Good experience, and we usually take our colleagues for lunch or dinner. Yesterday’s visit was son’s 18th birthday, and opted for tasting menu for family. The experience was okish. Wanted to give the feedback on the vegetarian main course, dal had raw bits (inedible) and kofta sauce was way too salty. I did not give this feedback in time as it was a birthday occasion, but food and particularly main course was disappointing. Hope it gets improved.

Hi, we had a Business dinner at Sindhu and to be honest it fell well short of our expectations. For a restaurant by a renowned Chef it didn’t live up to the standard. The food lacked rich deep flavours and the presentation was run off the mill and not as advertised on the website. The menu lacked creativity, which was one of the reasons for booking the place as we thought that a chef of Atul’s calibre could bring something new. Would I go again, probably not.

The staff in the restaurant are all amazing, and they were very kind to this solo, older female, and made me feel welcomed and not weird for being alone. They did replace it. The flavours were just not as good this time round. Lamb was ok and the dhal ok. But not great which is what it should be. Wine was expensive for what it was and two bottles we asked for were not avail. We poured our own wine as service just wasn’t up to par. Gutted as we’d really praised Sindhu at our last visit. There were 5 of us for lunch and we went with the choices on the “Lunch Menu”. There was plenty of choice and we all found meals that we liked. The house red wine was good and complimented the meal. I had the Tandoori Ratan to start and the Monkfish Curry as a main. There was plenty of rice and dhal provided. We also had Samosas, potato cakes and the bread basket as sides. My husband had the Hake as a main course and said it was really special. Service was very attentive. My only criticism would be that different people tried to top our wine up over and over again even though we had already said no thank you and that we would do it. I fully appreciate that this is a nice touch but we want to be in control of what we are drinking and once you have said no, I think that should be acknowledge (especially by the fourth time). I think it did not help that there were so many different people in attendance at one table. It was all perfect. One of the best Indian meals I have had, as a lot of the Indian restaurants now do a processed Indian curry, whereas this all seemed freshly prepared with perfect spice combination. The view is also beautiful, as it appears that you are in the middle of the river. The area was flooded at the time, but it didn't affect the restaurant. Excellent service, they tended to your every need. The rice is included in the price and we had a free prosecco , but the poppadum's were extra. We were told that they can give us chillies on the side. Thankfully we did get what we actually wanted. Similarly we requested a vegetable biriyani instead of chicken/lamb as stated on the menu. We have eaten here before and had a tasting menu with drinks. Drinks were on the small side but complimented the food.

We have been to Sindhu a number of times on our own, with the family and with friends. The service is excellent and the fact that they take our requests into account really gives it a personal touch. And yesterday was the same. The ambience is always perfect too. However, on this occasion, the lamb starter and the lamb tikka briyiani were not of the quality or standard that we have been accustomed to. The lamb galettes had an overpowering taste of cumin and there were only a few pieces of lamb tikka. Both were rather disappointing. Hopefully this will be rectified for our next visit.

Very limited vegetarian choice. Food nor service standard not worth the money. Been to Sindhu a few times but won’t be going there again

Really excellent food with distinct individual dish tastes. Table of 8 allowed us to sample quite a few! The fusion of some less obvious meats (venison and partridge) make for some superb and unique dishes. Plus excellent more traditional dishes done with an individual twist. Portion sizes generous Some of the waiters could benefit from a little more finesse at table service if being picky, albeit head waiter team excellent

We went to celebrate a birthday with a set lunch, we were greeted with a smile and a glass of Prosecco. we chose the Chicken Sheek Kebabs starters as well as some poppadoms. The mains chosen were Lamb Biryani and Turkey Tikka Marsala. All cooked and presented nicely and plentiful helpings. For the sweet course we tried the Poached Pears and White and Dark Mousse, also very nice. We never felt rushed and the atmosphere was pleasant. Plenty of wines to choose from to accompany the food, all in all a nice experience.
