Another fabulous meal - absolutely delicious. Again they changed the red wines for white without fuss when I ordered the wine flight (I can't drink red wine). A lovely date night treat.

Revisited Sindhu after several years and was disappointed. The food was OK - not great and the service was rushed. We experienced the same treatment as other reviewers eg barely sat down before we were asked if we would like some poppadums to start (strange as our niece had bought us 2 cocktails as a surprise). It went on from there really with the waiter/Maître d' coming to the table every 5 minutes seeking to take an order. Other visits included informing us the kitchen was closing at 9.15 (we had an 8pm reservation), asking us if we would like to finish our wine in the lounge area (we declined to do so) and the final visit - after paying the bill (over £200 with one overpriced but delicious bottle of wine at 4x retail price) was to offer us 2 small glasses of a red liquid - not sure what it was but we politely declined. So, food better than the local curry house, over priced wine and rushed sevice. We will not be going again.

Super food and service as always..... Had the 7 courses, delicious, the tandoori monkfish was the favourite of the lot. Eaten here twice, and Vasuu once, recommend here over Vasuu, both Atul Kochhar places. Sindhu has by far more depth of flavour on their dishes. Great slick service from skilled staff, many thanks.

Came her for lunch with my partner. She is vegetarian and the set menu is very limited for her. We were quickly shown our seats, the view out over the Thames is lovely. Menus were brought over very quickly and we were asked what we wanted to eat almost immediatley, we hadn't even ordered drinks. So I asked for some time to relax and give us 5 minutes to peruse the menu. The drinks were brought over and we were asked once again if we were ready to order, so feeling rushed we did. We ordered some poppadoms which again arrived quickly, we had only just finished them when our starters arrived, before anything had been cleared. We had to help clear plates to make way for the starters. With our main we asked for some sides, which turned up with our starters , meaning when the mains arrived this was now cold. Overall we felt rushed as the place was pretty empty with no atmosphere when we arrived and we were the last table even though it was only 3:30, it was as if they just wanted us to leave so they could go home. Food was lovely, place was clean and tidy with parking right outside.

Very disappointing experience! Staff seemed to lack any enthusiasm. The food was not seasoned well and the taste was underwhelming. It was definitely not worth the exorbitant cost of the meal. There wasn’t much of an atmosphere in the dining room. One of our seats had a tear in it and was covered with some duct tape! Not at all what we hoped for in a restaurant that has the name of Atul Kochhar attached to it. Would not recommend it and will not be returning.

Great location, exquisite dishes on a good Set Menu (Prawn Pao, Gunpowder Chicken, Dhal, Basil Pepper Chicken, Monkfish Curry especially). Would not say portions are over generous but flavours are wonderful. Friendly, if rather slow service. A pleasant experience overlooking the river. We drove nearly two hours to make a second visit. Very enjoyable.

My wife and I had dinner for our wedding anniversary sans children and also stayed in the hotel. We had the tasting menu. It was an amazing meal on the whole. We were perfectly happy with the portion sizes. Each course was packed with a delicate balance of spice and full of flavour (we did not find anything hot). There was even a little anniversary surprise at the end of dinner courtesy of the restaurant. The only slight disappointment was the chocolate desert. It was perfectly nice and well presented but a little one note and would have preferred an alternative. Evening atmosphere was fine but it wasn't even half full and, I imagine, is more fun in the afternoon when there is a view of the weir. We would definitely return (in fact we are planning to go with some friends in the New Year)

So this is a lovely setting and service fine. The food was beautifully presented but portions rather small especially the dessert( I stopped off to get some cake on the drive home) What spoilt it was their idea of a set meal with surcharges on many options. This was to be frank taking the piss! 2 glasses of prosecco were included but god alone knows how the end bill was £108 for 2. An extra glass of wine a nan a few tiny popadoms and service charge added £48 to a £60 bill! Never again

A two hour drive for us so always a stay over which is such a treat but sadly on this occasion not so. Disappointing. The minimalist interior design offers no white table cloths and the Formica tables give a canteen feel. The tasting menu with wine is £133 each and failed to live up to its high ticket price. The staff were pleasant but the ambience does not deliver. It was regrettable that the Maitre D’ tried to hustle us for a £30 service charge on top of the significant bill.

Friday was a lovely sunny day, so we arrived early to sit on the terrace and enjoy the beautiful views across the river Thames with a cocktail. Top marks. The restaurant as always was lovely. Great food. The service was fine. But….. I ordered a bottle of wine white. They brought a different one. OK, let it slide. We ordered a red. Was it the Pomerol you ordered; err nope. Try again. We attended this restaurant 2 weeks ago and told the staff about a nut allergy. First dish, the aloo chat, had cashew nuts in. My partner had a severe allergic reaction to this. The chef came out and said it was raw garlic and in fact not a cashew nut. It was not garlic, it looked like a cashew nut, it tasted like a cashew nut. The waiter then took the cashew nut inside and must have tried it and confirmed it was a nut and definitely not garlic. This was by far the worst experience we have ever had at a restaurant. My partner had to take 2 days off work thereafter. Firstly, it was due to presence of nuts and my partners severe reaction to this. Secondly, it was due to the gaslighting from the chef insisting it was not a nut. Luckily, I have taken a photo of the dish with the nut as proof. The waiter was very apologetic at the end. We were still charged £60 and had to pay for said starter!! We also have a copy of the receipt. If you have an allergy and want to visit this restaurant , I would not recommend as they cannot be trusted. We would appreciate if management can contact us regarding this matter.

Went on a Saturday evening and it was very busy which is fine but it was SO noisy!! Had to literally shout across our table for 2 to be heard. We'd recently dined at Sindhu aboard P&O Brittania which was a very different atmosphere so we were a little surprised and disappointed. It is after all run by a Michelin starred chef so expected a smarter vibe. My food was delicious!! My husband on the other hand was very disappointed with his biryani main. Dry and tasteless. It is not cheap to eat here so all of the dishes should be of a much higher standard. We went for our anniversary expecting a re run of Sindhu Brittania and quite honestly there is no comparison. We actually would not of thought both were run by Atul Kochhar had we not known beforehand. Sadly, I doubt we'll return. Shame.

Had a meal here when staying at the hotel. The flavour of the dishes is excellent but in my view this is an Indian restaurant for those who enjoy heat and spice. The Chicken Tikka Massala is extremely flavoursome but has a comparable heat level to a Madras from a more inferior venue. Roast Potatoes were a little soggy. Rice was lovely as were the breads. Service is attentive but could have enquired into our meal a bit sooner for my liking. Desserts are wonderful. The Kulfi was one of the best I've ever had. View across the Weir is lovely. We had the 7 course tasting menu, which was delicious. We loved the coriander pickle that came with the poppadoms and they were kind enough to give us a small container of it to take away. One suggestion to the serving staff; talk to the guests to see how regularly they'd like the courses to be presented. Some people are happy to have the whole meal done within 30-40 minutes, but we wanted to go at a much more leisurely pace and discuss the tastes and flavours of each course, and we had to ask them a couple of times to slow the pace down. We also decided to stay the night at The Compleat Angler as they had some great value rooms as a 'last minute' rate. We came here for lunch on our way from London to Scotland, since we had read great reviews about the place. Located on River Thames with a beautiful scenic view, the food and ambience lived up to our expectations. Chef Menon came out himself and gave us his suggestions from the vegetarian menu and ensured his team looked after us wll. Starting with the mocktail (pineapple and coconut cooler) to our starter (chaat) and to the main course (paneer/dal/kofte/peshawari naan), everything was just perfect. And to add cherry on the top was our dessert. We definitely recommend going to this place whenever you want to relish some good Indian cuisine.

Arriving at the hotel in which the restaurant is situated, we had the amazing view of the river and entered the hotel to be welcomed by the staff with happy faces. The staff took us to our seats and were very accommodating of my coconut allergy. They took our order and we enjoyed the view of the river. Shortly after this, the poppadoms were placed before us. These were amazing, I was pleasantly surprised when the smaller poppadoms just melted in my mouth. The chutneys both had an amazing flavour. This was then followed by the starter, the chicken tikka was beautifully moist, with a little kick of spice to it. Then the mains came and the lamb was beautifully tender and the curry was fragrant. The naans also came and they were really nice with the cheese melted just right to get that stringy effect. The puddings came and it was very nice, the honeycomb on the Rasmalai was a nice touch and the vanilla ice cream was very rich and creamy. The drinks we had through the meal were very nice, the mango lassi wasn’t too thick and the mojito was flavoursome and the chilli didn’t make it too spicy. Overall, an amazing meal with amazingly attentive staff. I would definitely recommend eating here.

There was no salad with any of the starters either. The monkfish starter was delicious. The portion sizes are very generous. The mains were very good we had the lamb and prawn curries. This was my 5th visit to Sindhu, and probably my last for a while as the dining experience was just okay this time. The staff were friendly and polite as one would expect, but at times hard to understand when introducing the taster menu courses and supporting wine due to a busy restaurant (great to see a busy restaurant, but just need to reflect service changes at these times). I personally didn’t like 2 of the 7 courses (dumplings and partridge), which is a first with the many tasting menus I have experienced. The small things that matter were missing this visit, eg I accidentally knocked one of the wine flight glasses over and this was not replaced, despite spending over £250; also, acknowledgment for a 5th visit would have been a nice touch too, of which I mentioned when checking in. The first bottle of red I ordered, the Indian Shiraz, was already opened, but fortunately the server realised this just as he was about to serve, so took it away and bought an unopened bottle back, albeit not warmed or time to breath. There was no amuse bouche from the chef, which is something that would have been a nice touch for an award winning restaurant.

Hi, we had a Business dinner at Sindhu and to be honest it fell well short of our expectations. For a restaurant by a renowned Chef it didn’t live up to the standard. The food lacked rich deep flavours and the presentation was run off the mill and not as advertised on the website. Helpful and attentive staff in a fascinating location overlooking the Thames. The evening menu is expensive but widely praised, but the lunch was great value. We will be coming back

We celebrated our anniversary with a special lunch at Sindhu. The food was amazing, honestly the finest Indian meal we have ever had. The setting within the Compleat Angler was lovely and the service was excellent. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Most incredible meal, service, amuse bouche, petit four, views - food to die for!!!! Took my mother for a treat - exceptional evening. Lamb biryani so tender, chutneys and all accompaniments so flavourful. Bread basket was huge! Roast potatoes a win…. Very good value for money!

I ate here multiple times during a 10 night stay at the Compleat Angler. The food is outstanding and innovative. I didn't do any of the tasting menus because you need a massive appetite, but I saw people eating this, and it looked incredible. The location is lovely and the interior of the restaurant is attractive. I tried a lot of things from the menu and everything was first rate with beautiful presentation. The staff in the restaurant are all amazing, and they were very kind to this solo, older female, and made me feel welcomed and not weird for being alone. (I was visiting from the US and my mother is in a nursing home in Marlow.) Definitely some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten. I'll be back in a few weeks, and this will be my number 1 dining choice!

I had booked for 3 people and upon reaching the waiter said their system had booked for 2 only (confirmation email showed 3). Then server gave us a table that was just big enough for 1 person. Frustrated, We all decided to leave and find another restaurant. The manager on duty was very kind & asked us to wait. Eventually she was able to sort out a decent table for us. (14 feb'24, 1 pm) Thanks to the manager we were able to have a good lunch.

We came to Sindhu about 4 years ago and had one of the best meals we’d ever had. We were really looking to this visit with friend’s. Overall disappointing. First course came out cold. They did replace it. The flavours were just not as good this time round. Lamb was ok and the dhal ok. But not great which is what it should be. Wine was expensive for what it was and two bottles we asked for were not avail. We poured our own wine as service just wasn’t up to par. Gutted as we’d really praised Sindhu at our last visit. Sad to say but we won’t be back again

An early lunch at 12.15pm, but it was St.Valentine’s Day. We got the table we asked for which was good. The staff were excellent if a little over attentive at times ( I think we were asked if we enjoyed the meal 3 times!). The food was superb, faultless really. One small downer was the Masala Chai. We asked for it to be temperature hot. It turned out to be lukewarm & over milky. We will order coffee next time. (Still no South Indian coffee served which is what we really like.)

My husband & I had lunch yesterday to celebrate our wedding anniversary & I couldn’t have wished for a more perfect experience. Exceptional food & service as I’ve now come to expect from Atul Kuchar’s restaurant. The lunch menu is amazing value. Thank you for a great experience.

We were in town visiting a friend, and we were looking for some Indian takeaway to have a nice evening in. We were welcomed and given a seat while we decided what to eat and ended up having a nice glass of wine while we waited. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I felt they went above and beyond, making sure we had a nice experience. The food was great. The pompadons were nice, and the lamb kebabs were excellent. The atmosphere was nice as well. The only note for reference is that Google Maps takes you to the back, and the name on the front of the store says Maidenhead Spice. That is the space they are in. We found it and were happy we did.

After moving out of the area we revisited Ascot Spices after many years to find the same warm welcome we enjoyed most Friday nights. Food was really good. It was a great experience all round.

We had enjoyed this takeaway for some time and were regular customers. Unfortunately our last meal was spoiled when a vegetarian dish was found to have chicken in it. My husband (who is vegetarian) found this out when eating the dish - a very unpleasant experience. Paprika eventually (after trying to insist on a discount on a future order) agreed to refund the cost of the dish, but the attitude, although apologetic, was one of "these things happen".

Ordered a takeaway and waited and waited, so called them and found out that they had delivered. However, they had left it on the doorstep in the rain for over 20 minutes and thought that was acceptable. When the driver came back, he said that we never answered the door. We were sat in the living room and had heard nothing.
