The best restaurants in St Michael Winchester South East

Worst kebab I’ve ever eaten. Very small amount of meat and salad. Not a patch on a real doner. Only visited as I’d not tried the brand before, shan’t be bothering again.

Fast and friendly service, relaxed atmosphere. Very generous portion sizes, wished they were smaller so I had room for desert. Pizzas were large, light and very nice. Overall a great meal and will visit again if I'm back in the area

Hotel is really lovely and the staff very good indeed. The drinks are a little expensive but that’s ok because they were amazing. The breakfast however, expensive and not good value.

I don't pop in regularly but needed a little food pick-me-up this afternoon. Really welcoming and one of the nicest people served me, nice young man and super helpful. Thank you :)

Lunchtime hunger saw us opt for this lovely little bakery, it was rammed with customers but service was very efficient.- superb selection of pasties and cakes for all requiremennts - excellent service from counter and serving staff. Lots of tea selection, but maybe a more comprehensive selection of teas ! Nevertheless a great place to go for lunch. Great tea-pot by the way !

Nice atmosphere attentive staff and they sell Doombar.Saw several people walk in then leave because the place was full but you need to go further there are tables out the back and upstairs so make use of them. Next time i go i will try the food it looked good.

Comimos muy bien. Ostras estaban buenísimas, pad tai de gamba y pasta con ragú de cangrejo espectaculares. Personal muy profesional y amable. Muy recomendable

This was supposed to be a birthday celebration for my wife who had wanted to visit the Winchester Côte for sometime. We were greeted by friendly staff who took our order. We ordered the shared Côte de Beuf and upgraded to truffle fries. The meal arrived about 20 mins later - indicating it was all freshly cooked. The first thing we noticed was that only one of the fries had been upgraded to truffle. They took away the wrong portion to replace them. We decided to start and not wait. Immediately we noticed all the food was cold, stone cold as was the dishes they were served in. I managed to get a waiters attention. He apologised and took away the steak but left our plates and sides on the table. I had to grab the manager to ask that the whole table be cleared. He apologised and said a fresh order would be made and offered us a complimentary drink whilst we waited. The fresh food came out, much hotter and was ok, not great. We declined a dessert as the evening was ruined and we didn’t want to stay there any longer than we had to. They had the cheek to add service charge to the final bill! Very disappointing and we won’t be returning.

This was actually an online order but excellent all the same and good value for money. Highly recommend the spaghetti carbonara and chocolate pudding. Also it's the little things that make up the big things so Zizzi also gave a complimentary freebie which was very nice. Delicious.

From personal experience. I went to Costa due waiting for my friend to kill the time. Because I work for Costa company I had a company card with 50% off the price. I had been told they don’t except my company card,but instead I ‘ve been ask for Costa points card . I said I work for the company,so I’m not allowed to have this card . Where is the logic. I feel very disappointed

My husband and I had passed the Dispensary Kitchen a few times, the food always looking delicious. When we did stop there we loved it! The lamb burger was our favourite. The menu wasn’t vast but everything we had was really good. The staff were Delightful and Engaging, which added to our enjoyment. Refreshingly there was no service charge added but we were very happy to tip the staff. Highly recommended

A great location for a Tea Shop so close to the Cathedral and Winchester College. The tea room itself is quite quaint - just what you imagine it should be. A delightful place to catch up with an old friend for an Afternoon Tea. Service alas, on our visit, was somewhat haphazard. Afternoon Tea for two was duly ordered - unfortunately it appeared nothing like the photographs in their advertising. First the sandwich plate arrived - four thin finger sandwiches (two of which were egg, one salmon, one I can't remember), and a mound of dressed salad - way more than any garnish. Not quite what we expected. Then came the cake plate - two (smallish) fruit scones, cream and jam, along with a slice of Battenburg cake, and a square of carrot cake and a cake of chocolate and Guinness cake. Both squares of cake were tiny. Problem - how to share 2 small cakes between two hungry ladies. To be fair, the scones, cakes and jam were obviously home made and very delicious, but a taste is really all we got. I've given a rating of Average for this place. This is because TA jumps from Average to Very Good. I believe their should be a Good. Would I go again? Yes. I would like to try this place again even though I found it quite quirky. I probably wouldn't order Afternoon Tea though. Would I recommend it to others? Yes, if I think they understand quaint and quirky.

I didn't really give this little cafe much of a trial today but really enjoyed my coffee in what felt like a safe and convivial environment. Well worth visiting to make sure this little escape place stays functioning.

Good pub, nice that they brew their own beer Excellent provision of outdoor seating for a hot day ☀️ Didn't eat so cannot comment on food but beer was tasty
