Pizzas were amazing. As was biscoff cheesecake. Oh and the cider. Would highly recommend.

Great food, I was worried about cross contamination but they were awesome and already had really strong precautions in place and really delicious gluten free pizza! Their service and patience as they explained their precautions was great - would highly recommend.

The garlic cheese bread is amazing. They have tons of ciders to pick from, as well as a few IPAs.

Was on a solo trip to Winchester and popped in because it was close my to hotel! The staff was super accommodating, the vibes are awesome, and the food was super delicious! Plus there was a huge range of craft beers and ciders on tap or bottled. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area!

I reviewed the Stable Winchester not that long ago, but I'll give you my opinion on our latest visit. We came to Winchester from Wolverhampton to collect my daughter from University for Easter. We needed to book somewhere to eat on Good Friday evening and we can't help but gravitate towards the Stable. We were greeted by a very friendly and competent young lady who showed my wife and I to our table whilst we waited for our daughters to arrive. Drinks were ordered and brought promptly and our food order was taken when the drinks arrived. No long delay for the food either. We tucked in unashamedly to the feast before us which was, as always, spot on. Desserts and coffee were then offered and duly accepted, brought and devoured. I can't really fault you guys. Part of me feels we should try somewhere different to eat, but, what the hell, we get great service great food and drink and a really pleasant atmosphere. So, I'm afraid, whilst we keep coming to Winchester, you're going to have to keep feeding us. I'd only give you 10/10 because I can't give you more. 👏

Tasted like frozen supermarket pizza with terrible service!

My wife is gluten free and she said the pizza was one of the best she has had. The choice of different ciders was amazing. The staff were really helpful and welcoming.

Lovely service and the sourdough pizza was divine

I sat here for lunch and it was a great experience. They were quite busy, so service was a bit slow, but the team were really kind and friendly. The food was delicious! I really enjoyed my pizza, it was light and the toppings were great. They had a decent selection of pizzas for meat lovers, veggies and vegans alike! Quality chili oil as well

Decent food, really nice pizzas and great selection of drinks, in a great location. Really let down by incredibly slow service. Waited 30 mins from arrival for drinks to arrive, was over an hour before food arrived which is far too long for pizza. Zero attention from staff, who didn’t tend to our table once in the 2.5 hours we were there, even though they made a point of saying it was table service when we arrived. We had to go to the bar to ask them to come and take orders for additional drinks and dessert which seemed like a chore, after which they took over 20 mins to bring one drink. Shame as the food was actually very good.

We had two pizzas: Hawaii and the Blazing Saddle. The latter highly recommended: the marmalade really adds flavor (and goes well with janapeno) and pulled beef gives it texture. My friend does not like her Hawaii, saying the tomato sauce and ham both lack fragrance and flavor. It will be good if a wider food selection is available. Lovely service.

Good pizza place with a decent (but somewhat limited) veggie and vegan options. They always have good beer and cider on tap or in bottles. Only down side is that it has become hugely popular over the last few years so you need to book and make sure you arrive on time.

Pulled beef nachos with very little beef to be seen... disappointing.

Lovely restaurant with super friendly, efficient, and helpful staff. Pizzas were outstanding, as was the great range of Ciders.. The best part was that nearly every pizza base could be gluten-free, so my coeliac partner was in heaven. Could not rate this pizza restaurant enough.. We went on a Monday at 5.30 pm, by 6.00 pm it was very busy, a great indication of how good this place is.

travelled from London and meet friends at the Stable and had such a pleasant time at this restaurant. Staff are so friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was great and the pizza and drinks were 10/10! Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back :)

I've visited The Winchester Stable a few times over recent years, and can safely say that my most recent experience was fantastic. I sampled several of the pizzas and they were all equally delicious. The butternut squash and goats cheese salad was also fantastic, and I would highly recommend the 'tots' too! Make sure you leave some room for their homemade biscoff cheesecake - it is AMAZING! As always, the selection of Cider on offer at The Stable is vast, but you can’t go wrong with a Lilley’s Bee Sting. If you’re looking to share the same Cider it’s definitely worth getting a ‘Growler’ which is just over 3 pints for around £15 which is pretty reasonable. Overall, the service, food and ambience were all great, and I’d certainly recommend a visit if you’re looking for a good value bite to eat in a buzzy restaurant in Winchester.

Been coming roughly once a year since it opened and it is still very good in terms of excellent pizzas, lovely staff and great building. However the cider selection, whilst still very good compared to most places, has definitely reduced over the years and they inexplicably stopped doing the great pies they were known for! Bring them back and could well be 5* next time!!

Excellent pizzas I had the festive pizza this time a absolutely delicious Brie cranberry and butternut squash what a combo. Great choice of ciders and fab atmosphere.

The service was very good and the pizza was reasonable. Unfortunately we were eating pretty close to two large dogs. They weren’t assistance dogs and to be fair, were very good natured, but if, like me, you prefer animal free dining areas, then it’s worth noting you may have to share your space with them if you eat here. For that reason, I won’t be returning.

Great place to eat, service was a tad weird due to having more than one person try and take our order and 3 people checking in on a table of 5. There was a birthday party and a few families in the restaurant which goes to show it's a good place to eat. The cider was good too.

Food was nice and the variety of pizzas was good! Seemed quite expensive for a pizza! Service was good and they offered drinks etc. Toilets are pretty interesting, the tiling around the urinal will set your OCD off!

We visited here today for our anniversary dinner. We were greeted straight away and given a complimentary bottle of Prosecco. We were served by a lovely girl who had started her first shift. She was so kind and efficient. Will definitely come back when we are in Winchester next

Huge selection of cider and tasting options if you want to sample a selection. They'll probably have what you're looking for! Pizzas were cooked to order quickly and the staff were friendly and helpful. Only thing to say is try to book a table in advance as it's popular in peak times!

The table was sticky and the chairs and floor were covered in food and liquid. The food was brilliant.

Staff are really friendly and so much cider options. The pizza is the best around.

Passing by on a chilly damp day, taking in the sights and we glanced in the window. We were not sure if it was open, but I tried the door and was met by a lovely, friendly young lady. We chose a table, purchased fabulously tasting cider, Mac n' Cheese, and pizza plus lush cheesecake. All in all, cracking - glad I tried the door. Our presence in the window worked, the place was buzzing when we left.

Terrible customer service and poor management. Ordered nachos with pulled beef and a pizza. The nachos and beef came out burnt with barely any beef, and mostly stuck to the baking paper, and a tiny portion that you couldn’t justify as a main course. No big deal I thought, but trying to send it back and deal with the waiter was a nightmare who didn’t want to to do anything about it. Lots of too’ing and fro’ing with his supervisor, who I could see across the room but who clearly didn’t want to speak to us directly. He took away the remaining nachos (near full portion), and offered a 10% discount on the bill. I couldn’t have even finished them at this point even if I wanted to! After lots of back and fourth, he reluctantly offered to remove them from the bill - nothing more and barely even an apology. No thanks. We’ll be going elsewhere next time.

The gluten free pizza dough was disappointed. Cake like feel and tasteless.

I am a loyal stable customer however we booked a bottomless brunch for my friends birthday yesterday which we were excited for. However the staff were rude and seemed like they hated their job. We got told we’d have a last order 15 minutes before the leaving time in which we were not served, I proceeded to talk to who seemed like the manager behind the bar and refused to serve us. She also rolled her eyes and was rude. It’s a shame because the stable have great food and usually nice staff however this was not the case.

Excellent, best pizza in Winchester

Food was great waiting staff were friendly and polite unfortunately the service was slow although I think that was due to not having enough people on shift for the amount of customers.

We arrived at the same time as several other people. There appeared to only be one waitress to welcome people, seat them, take orders and make drinks so it was a while until we were served. From that point however it got a lot better. Food was great, quick service and piping hot. Gluten free base lovely. The waitress came over to apologise for the delay at the start, but she did a wonderful job. We will be back.

We love going to The Stable but sadly our visit fell very short this time around. We booked dinner for 2045 on a Saturday evening. We were stood for ages waiting to be seated even though staff members kept walking past us. We ordered two ciders and asked for a glass of ice on the side. We also ordered tater tots to eat first. The ice was forgotten but was brought over when we reminded them. We were sat waiting a while and started to wonder where our food was. Then our waiter said there was a problem with the ovens and our food was just coming, but could we remind him what we had ordered. He said the tater tots were on the side just coming down and the other food was being cooked as we spoke. He rushed off to the till where we think he put our forgotten about food order through. 5 mins later the tots arrived very hot so clearly had only just come out of the oven not left of the side. 5 mins after our mains came out. The food was great as always but the service was terrible. We think there were quite a few new starters who needed better guidance, the manager spent the whole time behind the bar making drinks when she really should have been on the floor. The staff were more interested in setting up the tables for the next day than making sure the customers were happy. This used to be our go to place for dinner but think we will leave visiting for a while.

Great service and great food. If you are lucky, Joseph will be your waiter. He was delightful and really attentive.

Good selection of food and drink with a good atmosphere

It seemed like our table was unpopular with the front of house staff to the point I needed to raise my hand to get attention, irratating and frustrating service, food was ok at best, good beer though, this chain seems to be lowering its standards so I'll leave it to settle for a while before heading back.

Such an awesome restaurant. The cider tasting board was excellent (shout-out to Sheppy's Elderflower!) and the pizzas were cooked to perfection. Highly recommended the Winchester and the Burger Pizzas. Can't wait to come back.

The place is nice, but not very welcoming. Hard to catch a member of staffs eye and difficult to book a table. We didn't eat here, but had a beer and a coffee. The plus side is all their pizzas can be made gluten free.

After being let down elsewhere we returned to one of our favorites which as usual provided lovely beer and excellent food in a wonderful vibrant atmosphere

Saw the board advertising the flight of ciders, so just HAD to come here and try them! Very impressed with the selection and was fun to score each of them. We stayed for a couple more as it was such a nice atmosphere here..lots of families and others enjoying themselves. Good choice of vegan pizzas and garlic bread. We just had a vegan garlic bread, which was very tasty. Loved the fact that this place offers local beers and ciders and others from independent breweries. Staff really friendly too. Will definitely be back when we are next in Winch.

Great food and selection of ciders. Service a bit slow but very lovely staff. Lovely airy vibe upstairs. Downstairs seemed a bit dark and I imagine the flow of people in / out and to the loo can't be too cosy. Would be awesome to see a plant based mac and cheese :)

Left after 30 min as no one came to take our order. Did ask a waiter if we could order, they asked if we could wait a minute but never came back. Wasn’t even busy.

Came here for dinner and had a great experience. Have not been since before Covid and it was just as good as I remembered. Food is good quality, I had the Vegan Margherita with Olives and Mushrooms, and the Vegan Brownie which were both great. Service was lovely and staff were helpful with ordering and suggestions. Would definitely visit again!

As day visitors to Winchester, we stumbled across here when looking for lunch. We were attracted by the open frontage and the decor, plus we like pizza’s! Being from Somerset we were delighted to see Glastonbury mozzarella on the pizza’s (we’d have been even more excited for more of our ciders, hee hee). Our pizzas arrived quickly and were delicious. I had the hen party which was so tasty, I managed the lot. The servers were friendly and welcoming and the place had a relaxing ambience. Thank you for making our afternoon in Winchester even better.

Good menu with variety for vegans and vegetarians as well as meat eaters. The ingredients are local and the atmosphere was nice, very busy for a Tuesday evening. Would recommend!

Lovely place to spend a summer's lunch, excellent pizza and cider selection.

Loved The Stable, but recently the pizzas are so paper thin. I love a thin crust but it's too thin now. Hopefully it'll return to how it used to be.

Everything was so cool! Food, especially pizza was so good, and, oh course service was on the high level, so I recommend this place to everyone, who want to have delicious meals for a good price!!

Good hand made pizza, service was a little slow but we were a large party of 14 so to be expected somewhat. Well with a visit if you’re in the area.

I'm happy to announce that the Pizza at The Winchester Stable is still as perfect as back in 2019 when I was there for the first time. Winchester wasn't on my route this time but the detour was worth it. The service is excelent, I love the atmosphere and the Pizza variations are great! Honestly, I only had better Pizza in Italy.

Been the stable customer for years. They need to do better on vegan pizzas! Garlic bread was delicious, however it would be great to clarify that starter should not come with main. We paid for extra jalapeños and there wasn’t really any “extra” ones. Chef seems not very generous with toppings, even when requested and paid for extra. Love their annings cider but for some reason they stopped ordering pear and peach for years and that’s the best one. I attached a photo of “extra jalapeños” we got in Cardiff the stable! That’s what I’m talking about!

Stopped by one evening during our 2 night stay in Winchester. Lovely bar/restaurant opening out onto the street. Pizza was delicious. Would return if back in Winchester….

We love visiting The Stable in Winchester; it's great for adults and kids. Although there is limited parking outside, we've always been able to find parking somewhere in Winchester. This includes disabled parking. For starters, the kids have always enjoyed having garlic or cheesy garlic bread. As a family, we want different toppings on our pizza; the kids like having the 'Proper Margherita' or the 'The Meat is On'. The last time we went there, my wife and I tried 'The Meat is On' - delicious. There are loads of drinks on our kids usually go for one of the Spritz drinks; if I'm not driving, I'll have a Neck Oil (which I love). They have an excellent selection of desserts on the menu. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with their Biscoff Cheesecake. I'll eat that every day of the week, thank you very much. I do have fond memories of the building The Stable is located in; many moons ago, it used to be a bar called Moloko's. That was the place to be on Friday or Saturday night. They used to service a mean Refresher Vodka. It's nice to pop back to reminisce. We love eating out at The Stable; it won't disappoint.

Travelled here again today from Wareham ,absolutely fantastic pizza ,ordered the winchester and marguerita ,the best pizza we have tasted by far 👍,the staff were fab as usual ,excellent experience ,which is why we travel so far .

Staff constantly asked if I was ready to order food, even though I had just sat down, and I asked if I could have time to browse through the menu. Feels like staff want you to sit, drink, and eat in 20 minutes. The manager is also pushing to get you out the door. Somebody needs to let them know that eating out is to have a lovely evening, drinking eating and talking to friends. The pizza was delicious.

Great lunch, food was really good! Especially the tater tots with alioli😋 and biscoff cheesecake. I had a ruby red spritz which was a non alcoholic cider with lemonade and it tasted like a cocktail! We’ll come back to try more food and cider.

Went for a pint at midday and it wasn’t too busy! Pints are around £5.75, and there is outdoor seating. It is situated on a quiet street so there is no noise from the road. Would definitely recommend it here and will be back to try the food!

We visited for bottomless brunch and we loved it! Delicious pizza, and nice variety of cocktails. The staff were super quick at bringing drinks over - would definitely return.

Really good selection of locally brewed beers on draught and a fine choice of spirits, too. Love that they champion local produce! We need more venues like this! Staff were really friendly, very attentive and gave excellent customer service. Really impressed and will be back to enjoy the delicious looking pizzas that we saw being served up, too.

Enjoyed lunch, excellent gluten free pizza and glass of wine! However I have mobility issues, and I was not advised that there was easy access facilities available, nor could I see any signs, I did manage the stairs but it would have been easier had I known beforehand. Good atmosphere, prompt service as there was a large party in.

Great atmosphere, great menu choices and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Love the idea of big long tables too. Decor was cool as well.
