Prezzo - Winchester in Winchester

Goodbye to the worst Italian restaurant I have ever visited. Two years ago it was a great venue. Two weeks ago it was a disaster. A waitress was spraying chemicals everywhere while I was eating. Before I had finished my main course a waiter started sweeping beneath my table. He then told me that if I wanted a dessert I was too late because they were closing. When I entered the restaurant my greeting was : 'We close at nine, so you need to get a move on'. Other diners were receiving the same treatment, and in 20 years of eating out I have never witnessed such unprofessional behaviour from staff. Today it closed permanently, and good riddance to it.

As a pizza restaurant, you’d think they could get pizza right. But no…my pizza was cold and woefully undercooked. Doughy to the point of uncutable. My partners ravioli was watery and slimy. On the plus side the Pecorino wine was excellent and service attentive. But I go to a restaurant for food..and that was awful.

We visited on a Tuesday night and was really pleasantly surprised. The truffled macaron cheese was particularly tasty. We could sit where we wanted and chose to sit in the window looking out into the busy street. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. Although busy, customers were nicely spaced apart so that you weren’t on top of each other.

When you spend nearly £150 for a family of 4 in 60 mins , when 8 slices of Pizza arrive with 6 slices of pepperoni and negligible tomato sauce you’re bound to some level of disappointment, when the large Garlic bread with balsamic and mozzarella to share turns up as a smaller version of a standard pizza it’s gonna wind you up. No clue how this represents value, I am not sure I can return.

Venue looks into Jewry street through a row of windows. Food was very good. Servers were polite but not a lot of charisma. They attended us promptly but the starters then mains took ages to arrive (45 mins for starters). The delay was odd because the restaurant was very quiet, just our table for 2 and a couple of other small tables. We decided against dessert because of the probable delay.

Great family meal celebrating a birthday. Excellent service and delicious food. I enjoyed the veggie calzone which was very delicious, my Husband enjoyed the chicken arrabiata pasta and our toddler had a great kids meal. Will definitely return.

Went as a walk in with my daughter. Very friendly service. Good children's menu. Predictable but tasty. Enjoyed my parmigiana very much. Would be good if there was an NHS discount on Saturdays! (I would have had starter and dessert if there was!)

A family meal for us and the grandchildren pre-panto. I felt a bit sorry for the staff as there were only three of them front of house (Manager, assistant Manager and one waitress) and I'm sure the Manager went into the kitchen! It's obvious they were short-staffed. So why accept so many walk-ins? Anyway, we were all served ok and all meals arrived in good time apart from the 6-year old's pizza. They'd overlooked the order in the kitchen. Good job she's a patient girl!! I chased it up and the pizza arrived 5 mins later. Generally good, it wasn't the staff's fault they were short-staffed. Nice place to come. Clean and handy for the Theatre.

Shame that after many good meals over recent years food is now mediocre. Virtually no topping on our sharing starter and whilst feedback to manager seemed well received then main course no better. Gave it another go after bad experience in November but would suggest Romsey, Eastleigh and Whiteley are better options

Prezzo Winchester - Lovely atmosphere in a busy and popular restaurant. We received great service from Anna and the food was fabulous.

The service was brilliant and friendly and there was plenty of choice for a terribly fussy eater like me but it helps (obviously) that i love (some) pasta. There wasn;t a long wait for it either but even if it have been the atmosphere of the place and the friendly people were worth it as is the food. If you love pasta go here and if you want other choices go here too (though i'm a bit biased XD)

Often eating out is awkward because, I have a small appetite and my girlfriend's appetite is tiny, T, he staff were great, they helped with the wheelchvair, they were OK with us sharing 1 x 3 course meal beteeen us, the food was great, the honeycomb cheesecake was out of this world 🌎

Went on Sunday night 24 July when they were understaffed and very busy. The two front of staff members were worked off their feet but always attentive and on the ball. The food was delicious. Will definitely be going back. Well done to all!

I visited the restaurant along with my son two nights in a row whilst staying in Winchester. My son, who is a somewhat picky eater, was catered for and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant is beautifully fitted out inside with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. We were very impressed both nights with the quality of the food and service, with the most friendly, helpful staff looking after us. A special thanks to Gemma and Becca who are a credit to Prezzo! We had impeccable service from start to finish! And the food both nights was fantastic - king prawn pasta and crab & lobster ravioli. We highly recommend this branch of Prezzo! Having been a fan of this chain for many years, I have to say this was probably my favourite branch! Hopefully we'll be back when we are next in town.

I came in Saturday with my family for a catch up and some food, I have to say this is the best restaurant I’ve been to out of the Prezzo’s in my area

Food was lovely, Gemma and Chloe were very friendly and chatty, would love to return. The restaurant was decorated very festive too!!

We went for a birthday visit and it was great food which we all loved and our lovely smiley friendly waiter William who was very polite and helpful it’s was a great visit and will be going again.

Booked online for two of us! turned up to an empty restaurant. whilst we were looking at the menu one other table turned up..... The waiter (Manager) took our order. Nothing complicated apart from extra chillies on a pizza. Had our drinks and quite soon after our starter arrived!! - at the time of our order we asked for our starters to come out with our mains.....Never mind we continued to eat them. Shortly after our mains arrived! wrong pizza, no extra chips that we ordered. My husband's food went back!!! so I ate my food by myself. The manager made out that it was our mistake..... When we challenged him on the three mistakes to the order from start to finish he blamed it on the busy morning he had had and wasn't very apologetic. Very disappointing service. 5 min later the other tables food came out and they had also had errors in their orders and food was being returned to the kitchen......... As we were paying the significantly reduced bill (Which was a softener to our awful experience) a couple with a small family came in and asked for a table. the manager turned them away as again he mentioned the chaotic morning he had and was on his own despite two other members of staff at the back of the Restaurant.It was truly appalling service here, one of the worst we've ever had!! would definitely not recommend this Restaurant and Prezzo really need to look at the other Reviews and make some big changes.......

We went to Prezzo on the last day of our visit to Winchester, looking for a pasta. This is a new Prezzo compared to what we remember and the menu looked more attractive than ASK Italian or Zizzi. The waitress was excellent, the starters great, the pastas excellent and the desserts tasty as well. Not bad wine either. Great place.

I have been to Prezzo Winchester many times and am always met with fantastic service, consistently high quality food, and a pleasant atmosphere, would recommend!

Food was very nice however attentiveness of staff was not very good. Food was ordered okay however after the food was served, service was abandoned. Restaurant was not very busy (20 tables) and with 7 front of house staff, it should have been a breeze. To add to I unfortunately I got to watch 3 members of staff eating pizza behind the bar rather than clear our table even though we had finished food 15 minutes earlier.

Booked a table for 3 and received extremely poor service, the waiter got our drink order wrong and took a further 10 mins to get our correct drinks, he then got our starters wrong and took another 30 mins to bring the correct ones out, we then waited over an hour for our mains and only brought them out after we complained. We complained to the manager and they just took the drinks off bill. Will not be returning and would not recommend.

Thanks to the waiter Chloe for being so friendly and cooks for the great food! The pizzas were great, loads of options to choose from.

Never have a bad time at this restaurant but this visit in particular was exceptional! Such an amazing team! All the ladies on the floor on Wednesday evening were delightful, each of them were friendly, polite and had a smile. Catered to our every need!! Cannot wait to come back

After a busy family day thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Prezzo. We had not visited Prezzo for a while due to our local branches closing down but pleased to see still as good as ever after our day trip to Winchester. Staff were excellent especially our waitress Gemma where nothing was too much trouble and had a constant smile. Would have no hesitation in visiting again when we visit Winchester.

Consistently excellent service and food when we’ve visited on a number of occasions. Great value for money. Friendly and attentive staff. Clearly a well managed restaurant and team.

My wife and I had voucher to use but unfortunately went on a tuesday night that was reasonably busy so had to wait over 30 million Tues for starter then an hour before the pizzas were served.Then had to wait a further 20 minutes for our deserts only to be told they had run out of sorbets.People who came in after us were leaving as they had finished.Manager did offer wider selection from larger menu but by then we had been over 2 hours in the restaurant and wanted to go home

Had lunch in Prezzo Winchester 20 July 2021. Food was excellent, service from the 2 waitresses, Anna & Gemma was definitely service with a smile 😊. Wouldn’t hesitate to go there again when visiting Winchester.

We order some food using Uber eats to be delivered during the England game. Delivery was said to be an hour and to be fair it was only a little after that it arrived. The problems began here as the food was stone cold and some of it was missing completely. I phoned the restaurant who immediately told me the missing food had been left on the counter. Bizarrely they then told me to call the Uber driver. I called him and his reply was he had delivered what they gave him and it was nothing to do with him and to call Prezzo back. I spoke with one of the managers who said there was nothing he could do and told me to raise it with Uber. I asked him why he couldn’t just arrange another delivery or even walk over with it as we were 7 mins away by foot! He took all my details and said he would call back. He even confirmed my telephone number. No surprise but he never called back and the missing items were never delivered. Terrible approach to customer service made worse by the cold food.

Delicious food. Superb service from Gemma. So friendly and fun but not in our faces. Not all chain staff are this good. Really clean and covid compliant. Would have stayed longer if we could. Almost certain to return over the Summer.

My son and I visited the restarant for a light lunch. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by an absolutely charming waitress who made us feel genuinely welxome. The waitress immediately informed us of two items which were not available that day - this was much appreciated and we knew we would be well looked after as it is so good to be inforned. We asked to sit outside - they have a small area for outside dining which was very pleasant. From beginning to end the staff were cheerful, efficient, welcoming and attentive. The welcome was wonderful as was the food. My son ordered a posh pepperoni pizza and I had the salad with some chicken. Absolutely gorgeous food. Fresh, beautifully presented and rather delicious as well. This was service at its best.

I came here this evening for my Dad’s Birthday. I usually go to the Lymington branch as it’s my hometown but today I met my dad in the middle and went to the Winchester Branch. The restaurant was clean and tidy and felt safe within the current climate. (Also I love the butterfly decorations). Our food was amazing, every dish was superb. I always get the same few things off of the menu. One of my favorites is the Seafood risotto but I was debating whether to try something new. The waitress Sofia accidentally put through a salmon penne pasta dish instead of the risotto. I’m not one to complain and I only have appreciation for staff in the hospitality industry as it’s been such a tough year. But actually I’m glad that it was not this dish I ordered as I got to try something new which I probably wouldn’t have picked myself and I loved it!! I think it’s become my new favorite dish there. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Sofia and Elsa (I think she was the manager) for their kind and attentive service. It was absolutely spot on. You were both so lovely and made the evening special. Thank you so much. I will definitely be returning as we now live in Southampton it’s easy to get to. I hope to see you both when we come back. It’s so good to be back. The staff are amazing and the service brilliant. The food was so good we had king prawns as starters then posh pepperoni pizza and chicken and masala sauce with fries. it tasted delicious. Love coming to Prezzo because the cocktails are amazing too. The pornstar martini is the best one around and the Prezzo royal is my favourite. Will always be back.

We ate in Prezzo, Winchester this evening as a family of 4 with two young children. I don't usually do reviews but Elsa our waitress was so lovely I wanted to leave her one. I mean, the fact her name is Elsa was already a hit with my 4 year old! She really engaged the children and was so attentive and friendly that it made our dining experience a great one! The food was also lovely. Thanks Elsa for being so welcoming and great!

Good menu selection with reasonable prices. I had a grilled chicken burger which was lovely. The staff were all friendly, welcoming, attentive and just brilliant to be honest.

WOW! - had a beautiful meal with Prezzo this weekend with some friends - the lovely manager that greeted us (Elsa) was so accommodating, especially seeing as I am coeliac. Our waitress Sofia was incredible also, so friendly and chatty which is hard to come by especially in these trying times! There were 6 of us - and everything was perfect. Thank you so much to the pair of them for making our evening so enjoyable, even with the miserable weather! Will definitely return :) thank you Elsa and Sofia! :)

Visited Prezzo’s “secret” garden with my friend yesterday and I had the best meal in a while! The place looks great and is very private, the food tastes amazing and our waitress Sofie was really lovely! Thank you for making my day! :)

We visited Prezzo yesterday for a friend’s dinner ! The atmosphere was fantastic, the service delivered by Elsa was stunning! She is a great value for your team! We will definitely be back!

The interior is rudimentary. We had 2 courses for a tenner , so really you can't complain. Starter was an Italian take on humous made from Italian beans, it was fine. I had a pizza main, good but a bit skinny on meat but 2 courses for a tenner, hey it was OK. Its not really an Italian place more a pizza and pasta place. OK, thats it.

Booked last min as staying in area for one night. Food was amazing best pasta I had in a long time. Staff were so freindly and welcoming. Wish we had a Prezzo were I live. Has inspired me to try cook it at home

Service is very good, attentive but not over the top. Atmosphere and surroundings all very nice, food good but the main selling point is it’s the best value for money you will find anywhere. £10 for 2 courses midweek with decent choice and all courses are full portions not reduced due to an offer. Great weekend offers as well. Would highly recommend.

First thoughts on entering the restaurant, basic and very student looking. Not to be deterred we looked forward to a long awaited Italian meal a nice bottle of red all care of Red Letter Day. The offered set menu was very limited and the manager was unable to swap an £19 bottle of house wine for a cheaper Merlot! Eventually having come to a compromise we paid £8 to get the wine we wanted. The 3 courses ordered, we enjoyed a joint starter of garlic bread and breaded mozzarella (not house made for sure). The mains, a chicken salad (dry as a bone) supported by chunks of cucumber, tomatoes, salad and two whole pieces of avacado and pasta carbonara were presented. The very attentive young waitress offered me a spoon for the pasta, first time ever I have experienced spaghetti that was an average 3 inches in length, impossible to twirl, a bit too long to scoop! The desert course was probably the best although the tartlets we suspect were again not house made. Had it not been for our waitress and the fact the meal was a present we would have no doubt complained about the whole experience. Not the best experience, sorry Prezzo!

Food selection was good and tasty. Restaurant ambience was very nice. Plenty parking spaces. Staff was very courteous and helpful in dealing with kids menu as we had a number of kids with us. They also observed covid19 rules.

Went for a meal on Friday and had fantastic service. Feri made us feel welcome and provided us with the food which was especially nice. Definitely would recommend to everyone.

We had an excellent dinner and saved 30% on food with the Prezzo offer. The food and the service was excellent and though the restaurant was rather noisy at times this did not spoil the evening’s dining. We would recommend this restaurant for evening dining.

I went with a friend to have dinner for two the night of 14th February. We didn't book a table as it was a last minute decision but they had space available for us.Waiters and manager were very friendly with us. We ordered a 3 course menu (calamari, mushroom risotto and salted caramel chocolate cake) and a plate of spaghetti carbonara, all to share. Glass of Prosecco and a cocktail which I cannot remember the name but I surely remember it's delightful peachy flavour .We ate really well and it was not expensive at all. They even gave us a card thanking us for having dinner with them in such a special night. Really cozy and warm place to eat.

Zoltan managed to stop my nan from dinning and dashing 😂. Food was fab the best part was the chocolate ice cream soup. Zoltan is fun and has the great banter best of friends forever and ever!! From molly 😬

Regular visitors to other prezzo sites but First time here and the staff friendliness was exceptional. Elsa the waitress was attentive, knowledgeable, polite and friendly. She made an extra special effort with the teenagers and they felt as valued as customers as us adults. The speed of the service was excellent and with 3 hungry teenagers it was much needed after a busy day shopping. Food was fresh, well presented and just had that little extra taste compared to other sites we have visited. Amazing job!!

I had pretty low expectations of Sunday lunch here (not a fan of generic chains) but it was a really pleasant way to spend a few hours. Really exceptional staff - each one very friendly, charming, chilled out & efficient. The food was better than anticipated too - pretty good pizzas & pasta, a nice chicken dish, tasty starters and puddings. & all very good value for money.We all had a really nice time & will return.

We visited Prezzo today with 3 children. The pizzas were delicious and the children took their leftovers home to enjoy later. The staff were extremely welcoming, polite and very attentive. Thank you Prezzo for giving us such a wonderful meal and a lasting impression.

Lovely evening with my boyfriend. The food was delicious and lots to eat! 😊 mozzarella in breadcrumbs as a starter I recommend as they’re so tasty! Elsa was a great server and really friendly :) will be back!

Arrived late to this Prezzo in Winchester after visiting our local Prezzo in Eastleigh to be told there fryers weren’t working - we really only wanted calamari! Initially we were told the kitchen was shut but when I said we only wanted calamari and had come to Winchester just for it Elsa one of the lovely staff members said she would speak to the kitchen staff, we ended up getting our calamari with a lovely cocktail and it definitely didn’t disappoint!! and the service was second to none, Tori another staff member was also great and I would recommend anyone to come to this restaurant!! Will definitely be coming back! Both deserve a raise a real credit to the company :)

This is the second visit this month last time it was me and 2 friends I had the Carbonara last time but the Chicken Carbonara this time and Dam it is good my partner even said his Margarita pizza was the best he has ever had and we have been to Italy. Elsa has looked after us both times and knows how to give a great service.

First time here but not impressed. It was a quiet Sunday tea time. Stood in doorway expecting to be seated straight away. Completely ignored by the 2 waiting staff. They kept coming to the podium/computer/desk but not a word. In the 15 minutes or so we stood there, more customers came in and waited, some just left after a while, others discussed where else to eat then left. Finally shown our table, food was very nice, not exceptional, lasagna was of course just lasagna. Won’t be returning.

We queued behind one couple to eat here at 5.30 on a Sunday evening. There were three of us, the restaurant was three quarters empty. Three staff pointedly ignored us for ten minutes, actually walking through us whilst avoiding eye contact, one clearing tables where existing diners were eating. The couple in front finally got some attention and the contempt with which they were answered when they said they hadn’t booked was so appalling we left. Surely the staff should prioritise seating newcomers over clearing the odd plate from occupied tables?

Lovely food with excellent service and with a great atmosphere. We also used our Tesco club card vouchers .

Came for a meal my dad and partner. It was busy although certainly not full, and the wait for our meals was far too long. 50 minutes to be precise! When we asked the waitress how much longer it would be, she answered 2 minutes. 10-15 minutes later we got it. The food, thankfully, was lovely when we finally got it by which time we were ravenous.

It’s Boxing Day you’re still stuffed and can’t even look at the turkey leftovers in the fridge! You still need to feed the family but you have tickets to the matinee Pantomime in Winchester? The answer. = Prezzo, Winchester. Just a few yards up from the theatre and not far to drag your weary body now carrying half a stone more than you were two days ago! On arrival we were met by a keen and willing team eager to help make this a relaxing pre panto experience - cue the staff - Zoltan our meet & greet and drinks waiter, Elsa our main waiteress with Phillip and Sofia behind the bar. The result a great incident free visit with the usual high standard tasty food with great friendly service with a smile. Two adult starters and mains including the Penne Salmon and the awesome spaghetti meatball al forno coupled with a kids three course meal including deep fried mozzarella went down a treat. A credit to Prezzo - thanks guys and best wishes for the forthcoming year.

Wagamas was full to book so we booked across the road at presto, the menu was a Christmas set special and fab value, lovely food and fab staff. Nice house white wine also.

We went to this place to try new places then I started to read the special menu for allergies (Dairy Free In my case) and was so annoying because was a weird structure the menu and not clear way.

Luckily we had reserved our table as they were very busy at lunchtime. We were seated immediately, offered drinks straight away. Orders taken in timely manner, and food arrived in good time too. We were made to feel welcome and valued customers. Children and Adults all happy. Calzone was tasty and a generous portion. Risottos were delicious. Sticky Toffee Pudding to die for! Couldn’t have been more different from our recent unfortunate experience at the Warren Inn in Wokingham!

Had the worst meal at a prezzo here. Mine was overloaded with chilli and my wife's pizza was awful. Didn't stay for dessert.

Tasty food and a great value! Service was excellent, Elsa was a very kind waitress and the food came very quickly! Would eat here again!

Lovely food, specially the sticky pudding. Our waitress Victoria offered an excellent service, she was very friendly and helpful.

Went there last week for an early supper prior to going to the lantern event in Winchester. I had meatballs which were OK and the NEW GF chicken pizza. It was awful. The base was thin and rock hard. I scored it with my knife and broken it as it was too difficult to cut. The topping tasted OK but the (quite large) chicken chunks were widely spread and VERY dry. Plus it was also cold.

Tickets for Milton Jones at the Theatre Royal 8pm start so we booked a table at Prezzo for 6.30pm. Queue of customers at the door, eventually a member of staff came to allocate tables. We had arrived a little early and sat down at 6.25. The service was slow, very slow. Starters arrived around 7pm. Cleared away at 7.25pm. By 7.35, no sign of mains. At 7.40ish asked staff member to chase up mains. Noticed a couple on an adjacent table were having issues with the food. The staff member we asked to check where our mains were didn’t get back to us. At 7.50 we left. We won’t return. Avoid, there are plenty of decent restaurants in Winchester.

Visited for a quick lunch whilst in Winchester for the Christmas market. Tasty meals, served quickly. Pleasant and efficient service. Clean and tidy restaurant. Will visit again.

Went for a weekend lunch to catch up with a friend, honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had since living in Winchester. From our first point of contact booking the table to exiting the building the staff were of the highest professional standard.

We were offered a table for 11 within half an hours notice , we were seated and served drinks / starters / mains and deserts without any delay whatsoever . The team of staff that were running the floor were without doubt the most competent team in any of Winchester’s high street restaurants . ( and we’ve been to all of them ). Extra drinks were served throughout our visit promptly, all the food came out at the same time and was delicious . All of this and the restaurant was extremely busy . Faultless . Haven’t been to prezzo for ages but from now on it’ll be our first choice when going out for pizza / pasta . Well done .

Hadn't been to prezzo before but was pleasantly surprised. Good food , service was great - thank you to Elsa for taking good care of us! With a large choice of restaurants in Winchester I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

The service in store was very kind and welcoming we were served by Elsa who was very polite and helpful. We needed to rearrange time and was no problem. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese which had the nicest sauce I have had. The carbonara was equally as good. I would 100% recommend to anyone due to excellent service and food.

Went for a family meal and although they apologised for being short staffed the service was excellent and the staff were all very nice and didn't rush through anything even though were under a lot of pressure and short staffed. The food was good and fresh and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thank you Elsa, Martz and Gemma for a nice family meal.

We visited Prezzo in Winchester for the first time last evening. We were greeted in a very friendly manner and very comfortably seated. Our meals were served very promptly and were beautifully presented and cooked.

We've visited this Prezzo before, but not for some time. The service was professional and friendly, providing tasty food in a timely manner. Surprisingly the restaurant was sparsely populated on a Thursday lunch time, just us 2 and a party of 6.

One of our best anniversary dinners ever! Amazing food & Elsa most definitely gave us the best service we have ever received. Will definitely be back soon!!

It was a truly great experience, finally I found a restaurant where the staff knew how a restaurant needs to work and the food was great as well, saying as I worked in fine restaurants in London.
