Our afternoon tea was disappointing & over priced. The tarte tartin was delicious & the "different" profiteroles were good, if a bit tricky to eat with the ice cream melting. Otherwise the food was not of the standard I would have expected.

Extremely poor customer service. A friend had their birthday here, a pre booked dinner @ £45 /head. Myself and my wife had a sickness bug and didn't want to pass it on to other guests so had to cancel. We gave HDV 3 days notice and asked if we could get a refund. They said no as the chef had started prepping already and the food had been bought (hmmm). I get that they shouldn't lose out for our cancellation (even if we did give them ample warning), but they kept the full £90 (actually £99 with pre paid tip!). No offer of half the amount , or just taking the actual food cost , a voucher for a drink , anything . It's blatant money grabbing, but as they say , 1 annoyed customer tells 10 about a bad experience etc. - so pretty short sighted on their part .

We visited for a meal with a party of about 15. We had pre ordered but there were problems with the food coming out, due to staff absence as we were told and information falling through the cracks. The staff were generally friendly and helpful. The food was good, especially the steak. Overall a positive experience.

Wonderful lunch and such a nice sunny garden area. The hake was perfectly cooked, as were the sides. I will definitely return.

First time at the hotel for lunch with my family after our daughter got married. Lovely hotel, but when ordering food I do as I would at home expect it not over cooked. Our lovely waitress did offer some more half way through the meal, but the point is it should be right in the first time.

This was my second time to stay in the hotel du vin winchester and it did not disapoint on my return. The location is excellent and within minutes walk to the main street where there's great bars and restaurants We had drinks in the courtyard after dinner which is just so beautiful and romantic. The lady working in the bar was warm and welcoming. There was lots of options for breakfast and the host was friendly and accommodating I look forward to returning to this hotel in the future.

I stayed overnight at Hotel Du Vin winchester recently after staying in their Bristol branch. Everything was perfect and I had no complaints whatsoever. Best nights sleep in ages, and the food was excellent. Lea who served us for dinner was wonderful.

We have stayed in the Bristol location of this hotel chain twice and really enjoyed our experience so we decided to book the same chain for a visit to Winchester. Unfortunately we didn’t have the same positive experience during our stay. The hotel is on quite a busy road near the centre of town, it’s very central but it’s quite a noisy road and the windows are quite old. We did ask if any rooms away from the road were available but there weren’t any - I would request this on booking if you stay here. The classic double room does have a nice spacious king size bed but it is quite a compact room. The walls were quite thin so we could hear our neighbours. We felt it wasn’t worth the price, especially as it was about £50 more than we paid in Bristol. The service was very friendly and I really like the modern decor in these hotels. The car park was very simple to use & secure and it was good to be so close to everything.

Stayed on Sunday February 4th for one site. We found the hotel to be excellent, being able to park from midday meant we could explore Winchester earlier than expected, and the receptionist , who was very friendly booked us in early too, which was a bonus. The evening meal in the hotel restaurant was excellent and the girls working in the restaurant that evening provided excellent service and looked after us superbly. We had the 5 course tasting meal which was delicious, and they offered to change some of the red wines to white for my wife, which again was a lovely tough. All in all the staff were great, the food was delicious and I would definitely look forward to staying again.
