We popped in for a drink, so we can't comment on food. The pub is very tastefully decorated, and they've also got a great space outside as well. Good service

Lovely environment. Service ok. Wouldn't recommend the burgers but chips were good.

A beautiful pub with lovely decor and ambience, but let down by the service and food. Drinks orders were forgotten, we were left waiting for an hour for our lunches and when they arrived it was pretty underwhelming considering the prices.

Had fish & chips for a Sunday lunch. Felt like a premium offering. Service was excellent - the whole crew were friendly and the waitress in particular was very professional. Beer was excellent as it has been every time I've drunk there

Just had to most amazing roast dinner at the Roebuck today! The cheesy leeks were outstanding and an unexpected addition to my roast beef. The service was exceptional and I can not recommend this place enough! Thank you so much for the extra crackling for my mother in law 👍

Sunday Roast. Although we were warned that there would be a delay, waiting 1 hour for the starters and 1.5 hours for the mains is too much especially when it is Sunday Roasts and the restaurant wasn't full. Very rarely for me, I couldn't even finish the beef. I can only assume it was very cheap beef. It was so tough that the two of us that were having beef, had difficulty even cutting it with a knife so we both gave up. Everything else was delicious and one of our party loved his roast pork. I hope it was just a bad day but I suspect not.

Such delicious food, really cool & quirky, beautifully decorated, intimate. Love the dark lighting and great wine list!

Really liked this place. I've been looking forward to it reopening since moving nearby. Lovely beer garden and terrace. The interior decor has been done in a lovely plush yet relaxed style, but in this great weather, it was all about the outside area. The pizza was freshly cooked with a generous amount of toppings for both kids and full size. The whole roast chicken (I did share this) was juicy and served with a pot of its roasting juices as a dipping sauce was spot on. The service was friendly and attentive, and everything was well presented. All in all, spot on, and I look forward to going back again very soon. I hope the team makes a success of the business. Update- this is now my new local, I the place and the team a lot. They just have it will balanced. I truly wish this business a lot of success.

Expensive wine. Coffee not available as " machine not turned on "! Asked for sparkling mineral water, only large bottles, Don't do small. Decor outdated , seats uncomfortable. We left.

Good atmosphere, pleasant garden. Delicious food, pizza. A drink order seemed to take forever, probably a case of 'too many staff' and nobody doing anything, there were only a dozen people in the pub. But our overall visit was very pleasant, yes we would return, I think we were just unlucky with the drink orders.

Very accommodating. Staff are amazing. Dog and children friendly. Great afternoon spent in a great sunny garden. Well worth a visit.

Friendly new landlords. Dark decor but tasteful and cozy. Only negative is no parking at all and the refurbishment of the garden has removed the ramp access so there is now no disabled/mobility impaired access.

Completely forgot to say my local the Roebuck has been taken over and what a lovely team they are. Plus I’ve now got a new favourite beers Butcombe Bitter. Just delightful Can’t wait to try the food

Excellent Sunday Lunch Noticed a prior poor review. The Roebuck, we learned, is under new management. We booked yesterday for a roast. It was an entirely random booking made while visiting family. We had a lovely lunch. Lots of veg, beautifully cooked pork / beef & all served hot rather than luke-warm. Short but reasonable wine list with good value to be had. The service was attentive & enthusiastic, the welcome was warm & the place has a happy atmosphere. We don’t live locally but will be back next time we visit our family.

Christmas meal, absolutely disgusting. I will never go back.

Only got 1 star because I had to give something..Certainly won't be coming here again..The poor staff in there ,its shocking the way they are treated, Very rude management..No atmosphere, felt like we were more of an inconvenience than a customer

We went to this pub to try it out as it's our friend's new local pub. We had food, but it wasn't great. My burger was pretty bland, besides the relish that I had to scrape off because it was disgusting! Others complained that the apple crumble was too little crumble for the amount of fruit. The waiter who took our orders made a couple mistakes as well, so not ideal. Also no parking available as the car park has been turned into a garden, so not great. The pub itself was fine though.

Looks like this company doesn't pay to the staff - not the hours they've worked neither service charge. I won't return. Avoid!!

It was OK staff were offhand and although thte said they offered small portions they didn't It's roast only on Sunday and it was fine with a good selection of vegetables. They serve the carrots raw intentionally. I don't like stewed veg, but there is a limit We won't go back

We booked a table of 10 for a family lunch last weekend. When I arrived they asked us to sit on 2 x tables of 5, so not off to a great start. Although the roasts are cheap at £9.95, they are not great - unless you like undercooked potatoes and carrots (do not come if you like your potatoes crispy on the outside and fluffy). I had 5 slices of pretty much raw carrot whereas the kids portion had way more. Service not great either. Definitely won’t be going back!!

Nice pub, great location for me as I live very close but the landlord is a pig! Rude, obnoxious and very unfriendly. All the drinks are overpriced, all the food is overpriced and they stick a 10% service charge on for bringing out your food. I walk past this pub now. 👎

The food was ok, the staff were very good. Take note man in blue polo shirt who seemed to be in charge whilst drinking at end of bar. He was so unpleasant to a member of his staff that I felt very uncomfortable and shan't be returning. This means you manager and not your staff.

Great food, friendly service, lovely garden and atmosphere. We only visited whilst on holiday otherwise this would definitely become a favourite regular.

Wonderful garden nicely decorated with lights for ambience, outside TV to watch sport, a lovely deck to enjoy silence. And I am soo disappointed that my birthday is on January. I would like to celebrate it here with my friends, in the outside splendid garden. 😊

Poor service the food was awful my pie was burnt the plate was chipped my husbands chicken was that bad he couldn’t eat it so sent it back no compensation offered so £14 for nothing . Our cutlery was just thrown on the table at us. This was a meal with my brother who I haven’t seen for 5 years . It was Embarrassing and at £14.00 a meal I would think twice if your thinking of booking . This pub has gone down hill fast waste of money

I’ve checked the website which is very nice and you can choose from many food. Again on the website!! Therefore i’ve booked a table a week ago for yesterday at 7 pm. When we ‘ve arrived, A4 paper is on the table which included maybe 5-6 main courses . In the end you can choose from 3 foods because “sorry we don’t have ham,egg ,chicken etc. “ Reason we have had a busy day. “ Saturday night at 7 pm ,booked table for 5 people ,not on that day a week ago. No drink or wine menu. Staff usual, not impressed at all.

Enjoyed a Family Meal here. Lovely Wine too. Defintely going to return !

( Please put on your card machine possibility to give tip) the service was so good that I went out to find cash to leave. Manager was very helpful. Only minus that there is no parking anymore.

Really nice pleasant place with friendly staff

Lovely food and female member of staff was lovely. The main thing that spoilt the evening was the owner demanding we had last orders at 9.30 and was closing the pub at 9.50. Big shame and the managers attitude was towards us was out of order.

Lovely evening so a quick drink with friends seemed like a good idea. The Roebuck garden has received a lot of care and attention providing a fairly secluded place to meet. The staff are welcoming and attentive and in general the atmosphere is friendly and peaceful 😊 Even the football being shown was at a volume which meant that it could be ignored !!

The garden is lovely, and so are the staff, especially the young Portuguese lady and the blonde lady that served me

Love what they've done with the garden! Great to have a pub with such a nice outdoor space in this area of winchester, really nice feel to it. Would be nice if they had more food options for coeliac, the pizzas can be gluten free but not safe if allergic etc.

The garden area is lovely and really enjoyed my meal. My only disappointment is the lack of drink choice for the designated /non drinking driver. A couple of mocktail choices would be nicer than coke, juice or lime and soda, so many AF options out there these days!

Bad service. Ordered food that never came. Had to chase for a refund for the food. No apology or care from the staff. Not good enough for a £5 a pint pub.

Fabulous! Post lockdown bliss. Lucky enough to live very local to this gem now they've turned their car park into a wonderdul garden and the addition of the hedge is going to improve things further. The tent is spectacular, garden lighting is beautiful. Staff very attentive and most importantly the food and drink are great. I know the following may be controversial but personally the tv sport adds nothing and a climbing frame would make this perfection on a sunny afternoon. But for now I am happy to enjoy some Mummy time without the kids!

Great pub & they've done a splendid job to make some fantastic outdoor space. Bit pricey, though. £5 for a pint of lager shandy is daylight robbery.

Very enjoyable lunch here today. Thoroughly recommend their home made pie and mash - perfectly done and seasoned to perfection. Nice to see a pub offering a smaller selection of homemade food done well. Definitely coming back here again.

My favourite pub in Winchester. By no means my nearest pub but I am always happy to walk the extra if it means a Roebuck trip. Good food, good drinks and the staff are great. They show the football which is also a great touch. Nice atmosphere.

A few friends and I visited this pub for some drinks and got looking at the menu and wow. The selection of Thai foods were fantastic! The staff were really knowledgeable when asked about specific meals and were great at helping us order the right amount. Service was excellent, super friendly and the food tasted delicious! The manager Pedro stopped by to chat with us and got talking about what's to come for the pub - cant wait to come back and see it all completed! Truly lovely evening.

We were here for a life music performance. The separated room is isolated from the noise of the drinking crowd and allows for intimate interactions between artist and viewer. The decor is dark, tasteful a fusion of boudoir and rustic. Clean uncluttered bar area and friendly efficient service.

Don't waste your time give it a miss

Good beer and food but at £5 a pint and £12.50 gin and tonic tad over priced.

Great spot for a beer. Helpful cheery staff. Nice log burner. No coffee machine as yet. Otherwise parking and well worth a visit.

An excellent pub with extremely friendly staff. These guys know how to make you feel welcome. I used to go here when the skeptics in the pub meetings and I always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately this is no longer here, but I like attend this pub from time to time anyway.

Friendly staff and good well priced food

Very friendly and welcoming owners, who are obviously proud of their business. Quirky interior decor, just north of average for drink prices. Free car park, free WiFi, decent amount of seating, both inside and out. Didn't eat this time. Worth a visit.

the roebuck is the wrong side of the trainstation and townn but well worth a vist for dinner ..the staff are great the place is fantastic and the food is amazing . i plan to go back to winchester next year just to go to the roebuck . i loved it

A warm greeting continued throughout the visit. All meals were an excellent standard and piping hot. The home made quality showed through. Pity it's not my local.

I worked in Winchester for seven months or so and called into the Roebuck one evening and loved the place. Consequently I was a regular for the period of time I was in the city and was treated like one. Jo and Andrew (the landlady / lord) were great. So were the staff and the locals I met. I ate there probably a couple of times a week and every meal was excellen with a good choice of dishes and not just traditional pub food. There was that but more as well. To sum up, it is probably the friendliest pub I’ve found anywhere, the beer is excellent, the food is excellent and if I get to work in Winchester again it will definitely be my local.
