The best restaurants in Wealden South East

Been coming here 25 years & as always an amazing place for great food! Delicious, tasty & value for money. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely meal here. Sunday lunch, food and service all excellent. Landlord fitted us in and even moved his family members to another table to accommodate us We had been to one other local. pub.beforehand but they couldn’t squeeze us in there. Very glad we came here instead on recommendation from a local couple We had travelled down from London to take our 3 children to observatory centre nearby The meal and pub was the real highlight of our day. Kids were made to feel welcome and everyone enjoyed the food immensely. We would love to return!

Terrible service and awful food overpriced and not very tasty. Staff are not the best with one member looking at her phone every 5 minutes

The do a weekday OAP lunch menu. Great value and nice sized portions. Highly recommended.

What a roast dinner I had today!! Trio roast if you're really hungry 😋 as it has EVERYTHING! But the beef and pork was beautiful.

Charmant pub, personnel accueillant et un jardin avec une vue imprenable. Les plats étaient excellents. Le seul bémol, l'attente un peu longue au moment des desserts.

There was a party of 10 of us, and we all commented how lovely the food was. We were made to feel very welcome. Great service, great atmosphere. We will absolutely be back.

My partner swore that the burger she had (the American) was the best she'd ever eaten. I could not argue. Very tender, perfectly medium rare, it was excellent. Only cause to grumble was that the chips were very salty and the "skin-on fries" were not really "skin-on". In fact could not see any skins at all and succulent !

Our dinner was average the service was good and the food was poor. I feel if it was not for the location the pub would be struggling. Limited menu and expensive at central London prices. Poor value would not repeat. In contrast the Dorset Arms at Withyham which I visited the day before offered much better food at realistic prices.

Booked 24 hours in advance. Arrived and immediately shown to our table. They had even noted we had a small dog with us. Drinks were served at the table. Our waitress Tyler was on hand to take the food orders as soon as we were ready. Starters arrived promptly, followed by the 4 main courses. Good food, hot and tasty. We shared 2 deserts that were also prompt and good quality. Overall great Service from Tyler (thank you) and good food served promptly but not rushed. Will definitely visit again

We recently held my mothers wake at the Lamb Inn and I’m so glad we did, being right next to the church it was super convenient, and our hosts Matt and Rosie were so helpful and accommodating, very easy to deal with, nothing was too much trouble, just a truly delightful couple. The pub was immaculately clean, the fires were lit and the whole place felt cosy and homely. The food they provided was delicious and plentiful and if that is anything to go by, we will definitely be back for Sunday lunch. Thank you Matt and Rosie, my family and I wish you every success for the future.

Very friendly staff, big garden, great service, fish and chips were really good

Second time visiting Java and jazz in a month. This time 6 of us for brunch, 4 of which vegetarian/vegan. It's really nice to go somewhere where they make such an effort for vegans. They don't just throw a processed Qourn sausage on the plate, there is all sorts of interesting things such as beetroot hummus, tofu scramble and potato muffin with forest mushrooms inside. Highlights include the wilted spinach and the roasted cherry tomatoes on the Vine. Great coffee and good attentive service, really friendly manager and staff.

Great pub, staff are very friendly, nice atmosphere. Will go back to try the food.
