A proper pub. The management have got this pub spot on. 10/10

Really nice old wooden pub with a huge garden and seats out front. £5.20 for a pint of cider is 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 Sadly no cat on this visit.

Epic place I had a minute stake and my husband had a burger with BACON JAM! he loved it.

For a wake the service and food were excellent.

We always reflect how lucky we are to have a village pub like The George. We wouldn’t want anything to change.

Really great night out. Great pub that was hosting a Spanish Tapas night. Nice varied very well cooked selection of Spanish tapas dishes. Nice efficient service.

A really great pub in a wonderfuk location, which does'nt want to, or need to promote itself through a flashy website. Word of mouth reviews and the locals who know about this gem, see to be enough to keep it nicely busy. Don't be put off by the slightly shabby exterior. Went for Father day Sunday lunch. Fantastic tasty well priced food, the best pint of Harveys in a very very long time and impeccable attentive service. If only all pubs could be this good.

The George is an excellent public house, great friendly atmosphere. The heart of Frant village. Family run, with care and thought for everyone. I am told the beer is in very good condition! It has a bar and tables inside and out, so you can choose where to eat the excellent food. Everything is freshly cooked. Dom and Janine go out of their way for special occasions and family celebrations.

I love The George and have been going for years. Today my meal was not great. Ordered the caesar salad for the first time. It wasn't good - a few lettuce leaves, drowning in dressing, 4 slices of toasted baguette, hard cheese and anchovies. I had the grilled chicken with it - it really wasn't worth £16.50 in total. There's no email address on the website to give feedback and I didn't want to make a fuss at the time as there was only one barman who was lovely and I was with friends. The George is great and we'll be back.

This is a must visit pub! It’s delightful atmosphere and friendly staff are one of the many reasons I highly recommend The George if you are looking for a family friendly, traditional English pub with a delicious selection of food (dog friendly is a bonus). They also have some really fun event nights often with live music adding to the charm !! It’s helps to know the owners Janine and Dom are lovely people who are invested in the village and its people

A very popular traditional English pub. The staff are always very friendly and there is always a lovely buzzy atmosphere. A great mix of families, couples and drinkers. We visited recently on a cold April evening and sat near to a roaring fire which was kept fed throughout the whole evening! The food is delicious and reasonably priced - we went to the Bao bun evening and it was amazing. Love love love this pub!

The George Inn is a must go to place , The food out standing and staff are very friendly and warm bunch of people , Nothing to much trouble and so helpful , The George Inn is a historic building so beautiful with an absolutely beautiful pub garden , Also beside the George Inn is the most beautiful church and I love to hear the bells ringing on a Sunday morning , The owners Dominic and Janine are the most lovelies people , Very friendly and bubbly people it was my pleasure to have met them both . They also have events at the George Inn And my friends and I attended one of the events last summer and we all had a smashing time , They go all out with decorations music food and obviously the drinks 🍸 🍸 My friends a d I will be attending some of the events they have planned for this year , I'm so excited as I know we are in for a treat .

Always a great pub, but the Korean food night was awesome. Hope they repeat it.

Just found this pub and LOVED IT. It’s cosy, homely and very relaxed. Had Sunday roast which was completely divine. Staff really friendly. Lots of locals. Really recommend. Think they could definitely improve their wall lights and we could do a good job - maybe one day!

Lovely pub. My partner and I didn’t have a booking so we dropped in on the off chance that we could get some food on a Sunday. The staff accommodated us, which we really appreciated. I had the mixed roast (beef, pork & lamb) which was delicious! My partner had the venison pie, which he enjoyed too. Thanks to the guy with dreadlocks, who was very attentive 🙂

Good food. Good Beer. Service was a little slow due to shortage of staff but they were very pleasant and our food arrived in due course. 3 of us had the steak & kidney pudding, one the fish pie and one the liver and bacon all served with vegetables. Puddings were apple crumble with ice cream or custard , various choices of ice cream or sorbet.

We don't live in Frant, but make sure to visit The George several times a year. Not once have the staff, the service, the welcome, or the food ever disappointed. Last night was no different. As a group of 7 at a very busy time of year (22 December), we made sure to book ahead, which I recommend doing. As expected, the welcome was warm the food fabulous (try the local venison) and the service excellent despite the pub being very busy. Excellent!

The first time I've been here and it has a very old homely feel to it. The owner is very polite and funny and very accommodating to any needs you have or even if you want to add/remove something from your meal. The atmosphere is great and because it's such a old pub is seems more inviting than the new modern pubs. The food was absolutely amazing. All home made, even the puddings which is amazing to see now a days. Price for food is average. My only slight negative is they put a service charge already on the bill and they don't give the option of leaving a tip if you feel everything was great. I'm not a fan or automatic service charges as I feel it's unfair, especially if you don't feel the service is good.

Fantastic service last night after the village Christmas market. Our choir ate here after singing at the market. The staff were super attentive and great fun making for a brilliant atmosphere. Will definitely visit again.

Advertises itself as dog friendly but it’s not!! Insistent my tiny dog was not allowed on my lap in case a hair got into food. She was curled up on my lap as she only weighs 1kg and would have been no different to having a Labrador resting its head on my leg whilst sitting on the floor!! On their website they have a picture of their cat sitting on the bar!! The barmaid was a ‘jobsworth’ in every sense!! I’ve been to hundreds of dog friendly pubs and have never experienced this. The food was very mediocre and the room was freezing cold. Door opening constantly, no fire on although there is one and it’s a Saturday in November. We left frozen! Pretty setting and could be a lovely friendly bar. What a shame!

Nice friendly pub, Great beer (Doombar and Harveys) snacks on the Bar,and although I did not eat there what was served to other customers looked very tasty. Will come again, this time to eat. I've now tried the food here and was not disappointed. Beer battered cod plus chips and peas was the best I've had this year.

I would like to thank Dom and Janine, and also of course Emily and Olivia, for an excellent day on Sunday the 23rd of July. It was the day after the wedding from our eldest daughter and they looked after us, 75-80 people, in a great way. Food was great and the service is impeccable, as it always is!!

The Mexican evening at The George was amazing. Authentic Mexican food staff were attentive and the atmosphere was so enjoyable. So enjoyed the evening hope they do another Mexican evening.

Must be good for lunch as it was quite busy this weekday. Quite small indoors, and there are a few bbq tables in the front. We were informed that this place had just changed hands. Could probably do with a freshen up in my own opinion.

The pub is OUTSTANDING! The staff are friendly, don't even mention how adorable the pub cat is! Food was amazing, very affordable. Highly recommend coming here. Ever passing through frant, always visit the George!

Lovely pub Sunday lunch with succulent roast beef, tasty vegetables, generous portions and all cooked fresh. The staff are all charming and helpful. Always helps if there’s sparkling Harvey’s to complement!!

Not great on the vegetarian options. Very friendly staff. A bit claustrophobic for my liking. Great that it's dog friendly but it does make it very crowded with pooches. Primarily a.locals' pub in my view. I did have a delicious vegetarian Sunday lunch last time I was there.

Really good Sunday lunch. Beef was beautifully cooked and served pink as requested. One of our party ad the fish pie and thought it was excellent. Service was very friendly and efficient. Thank you to all at the George.

A big thanks to all the staff for looking after us when the snow came in on Sunday and blocked the road. The glowing fire was much appreciated after walking round from the Abergavenny Arms - thank you for letting us shelter a bit longer in your pub. You were so helpful and completely amazing. We visited recently for a birthday lunch with my elderly father in law. The food was definitely 5 star but the service was a little disjointed with the three of us getting our meals separately, one quite a while after the others. The portions are generous and the food well cooked.

Excellent, staff were pleasant and efficient. Food superb, best liver and bacon I've ever eaten.

Had a lovely lunch here today with my wife and daughter. Vegetable lasagne and Minute steak and chips were lovely. The landlord and landlady are lovely too.

Had a wake for 25 people after my wife had passed away. Everyone enjoyed the buffet and the drinks in the restaurant area. Staff were very good ,the atmosphere was good .

Best Sunday lunch in a long time. Proper meat(pork), not processed, with crackling. Lovely Yorkshire pudd, roast pots, cabbage, curly kale, cauliflower cheese, roast parsnips. Proper old-fashioned home cooked food. Delicious. What a find!

Ordered a takeaway and by the time I drove there the order was nice and ready. The fish and chips were very large and delicious, the same with the beef burger in a brioche bun and Chips, the beef burger was grilled and cooked to a tee and piping hot. Wonderful location. We were hiking so it was a perfect place to stop. The service was quick and plenty of seating.

Food is good, prices fair. Service is very friendly and mostly efficient. The whole place is a bit run down, but very much the traditional English pub. The garden is lovely, but not family friendly: kids must stay seated. Food starts at 6. Good for a meal, but odd in some ways

Visited for fathersday lunch. Had the beef roast and it was honestly one of the most delicious roasts I have had. The beef tender, a good selection of vegetables and a good sized Yorkshire pudding.

Our local. Not that "local" but worth the trip! Friendly staff, efficient and competent. Gorgeous garden. Proper pub. .... Months later. There again today for our regular Saturday lunch with pals. Today's lime posset was to die for. Thank you to the chef, and to your always charming staff.

With all the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor for this venue, it seems our experience may have been unusual. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we were attended to as soon as we sat down. I had the beer-battered cod, which was large but over-fried....

Always a good pint in a friendly atmosphere. Very much a 'village pub' - used by locals at different times of the day - nice to see. Can be busy as food is good. Nice sized garden.

Updated >>>> Met the family for Sunday lunch. Wasn't sure about ordering lamb due to the varying fat, so we asked, and a slice was brought out. It looked reasonable, so three of us ordered. Mine was ok, but not much of it (overall portions appear to have dropped). My wife couldn't eat much of the 'meat' because of the fat ... disappointed, so dropping one star (for now!). Sis said the nut roast wasn't as nice as before, but couldn't put her finger on why. Hopefully things will improve, but we won't be ordering the lamb again >>>>>>> My (wider) families favourite. When I meet up with Mum, Dad, Sis and Bro-in-law, this is where we head to. Great food, good portions, and lovely staff. The only niggle being that the Nut Roast isn't always available (Mum's favourite).

Thank you to Greg, Dom & the team, another lovely Sunday roast with the biggest homemade Yorkshires I've ever seen! Plentiful, tasty food; prompt, friendly service; excellent value for money & lovely cosy atmosphere. What more could you want? Highly recommended.

If you think about the word perfection. You would think about the George Inn @Frant. The garden is beautiful and with a beer you are thinking this is perfection!!

Forget visit for a Sunday lunch. Fantastic wide selection, excellent service despite being short staffed due to illness and every amseat in the house taken. Excellent food good prices and some humour thrown in too!. Loved it - will be back. 10/10 given for the Sunday roasts and EXCELLENT cauliflower cheese.

Had an excellent Sunday lunch. The steak and ale pie with mashed potato was great. The duck starter was very tasty. Great prompt friendly service

Fantastic lunch here with five friends. A little draughty in the room, but with food this good not a problem. Best lamb shank ever.

The most delicious food and a superb 'local' pub atmosphere - Greg and the co truly go out of their way to make your visit enjoyable - the food is superb and the service second to none.

The best Sunday roast I think I've ever enjoyed. The sweet red cabbage was a treat as part of the veg with the roast beef and the service really friendly and efficient. The pub was full which tells you all you need to know. A great unpretentious pub with a super pint of Harveys. Highly recommended.

Great pub with great food. It was very crowded when we visited but that added to the experience all that was missing was the smell of cigarette smoke.
