Been coming here 25 years & as always an amazing place for great food! Delicious, tasty & value for money. Highly recommended!

I love Maximum Diner for their toffee daim sundaes, they have consistent quality and is my go to order. My son enjoyed his first ice cream float and the other desserts were all hits. The service was great and my kids were given a lollipop each as we left which was a well received gesture.

I’ve always liked the food here! Better to eat in than to takeaway though!!

Food and staff good but found tables very cramped and fixed to floor... not ideal for the larger 'person'

Been here many times before and the kebabs have been ok but today doner was the worst meat i have ever had. I won't be ordering from here again.

Same maximum diner its always been. Food is still good but the interior is very sad and old now.....

These guys are feeders… good sized portions! My boys like the burgers, ribs, big milkshakes and fries. Kebabs are decent too. Huge menu choice and all seems to be cooked fresh to order. Very good value and friendly people.

I used to come here as a kid. It's pretty rough round the edges and doesn't seem much different to how it was 20 odd years ago - still the odd American flag around and booth seating. Staff are friendly enough. Large variety of food, as you'd expect in this type of place. Generous portions, the food isn't going to win any awards but was acceptable, perhaps a little expensive as some of the ingredients used are towards the lower end of the scale.

You have to like these guys - they love to feed, always friendly and the portions are epic. Food made fresh - worth waiting a few minutes longer for. Currently takeaway only but they are handling the Covid situation most professionally. From the ribs to the chicken kebab, all great

What a joke, you used to be able to make a takeaway order over the phone, but suddenly today they refuse to do phone orders. Total joke

I have recently moved to the area and I was Keen to visit this establishment. Now while the staff were polite, the food was abysmal. If this is a burger joint, then kill me now because to be fair it's kebab burgers for burger joint money. The milkshakes were superb alas that was the only saving grace. Uckfield needs a quality burger and pizza joint. This is not it

Best food and Service I have ever had

Don't know what the food is like , I couldn't understand the the chap that was taking my order, and I suspect that the opposite was also the case. Result no home delivery and no repeat business.

We liked it. Don't expect a Michelin star restaurant meal and you'll be fine. Took the family for a quick bite of food. Staff were welcoming and friendly. From the choices we ordered, the kebab was the best. I would go again.

Was surprised to see bad reviews of this place. We have used Maximum Diner for years, since we moved to Uckfield from London (where we got lots of experience of kebab shops). In that time that we’ve used them we have never had a bad meal, unlike other local take aways and including the Dominos which put us off Dominos pizza for good! Kebabs are always tasty, not dry. Salad is always fresh. Chips are always lovely. Plus this place does good pizzas, burgers and hash. Not known a kebab shop to do this much variety and all of it nice. If you want tasty fast food. I can’t think of anywhere nearby that does it better.

Great service food was lovely bit of a wait though. Definitely use again.

So walked in to be greeted bluntly with ‘you want a takeaway or sitting in?’ Sat down to a good looking menu , many choices ! Boyfriend loved the strawberry milkshake. But it was freezing cold in there !! Didn’t take jacket off throughout the meal . I asked to have crispy bacon in my chicken burger which it wasnt. To be honest wouldn’t say it was any better than McDonalds! Staff members were arguing and chef was swearing . A back door where I presume the food was stored was constantly being slammed throughout meal. Overall will definitely not be coming back.

to much oil for my taste but that's how I prefer it and the chips were soggy and the burger wat to fatty but if that's how you like it then that is fine this is just how i prefer it

Yum. Fantastic food for a reasonable price and lovely staff. The menu is extensive and has a surprisingly large amount of vegetarian options for a fry up diner. In short, if I could eat here every day for every meal, I would.

Maximum skatepark sesh followed by maximum! Dining. Gnarly.

Recently ordered from here as we was local and was recommended by someone. I must admit i would never order from here again was well over priced and charged an absolute ridiculous delivery fee. Food was so bad we chucked it in the bin

Have eaten here in the past but this was the first delivery to home. Food is never a let down decent portions for what you spend. More for your money than domino's for example. Well timed delivery (has to be a min £15 spend) but ex large mixed kebab with big bottle of coke, fries, salad and a mix of dips I think good value. Will definitely order from again.

My husband recommended this place going by how it USED to be making 'really good burgers'. This is no longer the case! He and his dad had a burger, my mother in law had the hash and I had a shish kebab. Plated up, the kebab looked the best but it was all of poor standard. The hash looked like dog sick, the burgers were cheap and dry and the chips tasted stale. Theres nothing more dissapointing than when youre hungry and have wasted money on a bad dinner 😤 Of all the places to get a takeaway from in Uckfield - dont choose this one!

I decided to get takeaway from here after not eating here for years and it was a let down. The veggie burger was terrible and came with one piece of lettuce and not much mayonnaise. I would still however like to try the other meals on offer here, but would not order the veggie burger again.

After them not accepting our card payment over the phone because we live in a flat, we told them we would pay cash on delivery 7 people heard this conversation on my end! 45 mins later we still had not received our order so I rang them and they said that they did not place our order because they said we would come and pay cash, which isn't true!!! When they finally delivered our order one and a half hours after the initial phone call I complained to the driver and he made out it was all our fault and that we did not phone back to say we would pay cash on delivery when on the initial phone call we told them we would pay cash, the delivery driver was very rude and very aggressive threatening to take our food back when I asked for a £5 discount due to their mistake, continued to argue, I have never had such a bad service, not only that the burgers were dry had clearly been sitting around for a while, all in all a terrible service and i won't be ordering again!!!

Visited several times after an evening out - excellent food and very friendly staff. Also used their delivery service a few times and it's always prompt.

We often take our vistors for Breakfast to Maxim Diner, as the quantity and quality of the Breakfast is second to none. If we are feeling lazy we would pop into Maxim, for an evening meal, and once again the menu and quality are excellent. I often have a glass of wine to accompany the meal. The owner and his family are loverly warm people, who make you feel welcome. This is not the Ritz, its more, it serves quality food and a warm atmosphere, don`t expect candles and tableclothes, just expect good food and a warm welcome.

Saw this lovely little burger place while working in Uckfield. Ordered the cheese burger with chilli sauce. All cooked fresh, very large portion of chips on the side. Great tasting beef burger, would definitely recommend you try.

I have recently made the Maximum Diner my go to place for Sunday breakfast. Although small, it's clean and the staff are polite and courteous. It carries a 5 star rating for hygiene from the local council. I can only speak for their breakfasts but I can't fault it for taste, varieties of food on the plate, it's always hot and the quantity of food is amazing. One of their breakfasts keeps me going for the whole day. It is what it says, a Diner, and it does that very well, offering a fairly wide variety of food of the style expected in a Diner. Give it a try, I have worked my way through the various places for a Sunday breakfast in the town and they have all disappointed in some way, up to now the Maximum is fulfilling my Sunday morning dietary needs perfectly

We have eaten here on several occasions, each time we were greeted with a smile and made welcome. They have an amazing selection of food on offer, and as far as I am aware it is all cooked from fresh. They are open every day of the year except Christmas day, so you can always expect to be able to eat up until 2 AM in the morning!!! They also deliver in the local area... Look for the sign on the wall about a challenge to all who think they can eat others 'under the table' As the diner is in the High Street, parking can be limited, however there is a parking area in a lay by just a 100 metres along the road. Definitely worth a visit for American style dining. Steps into the diner, so disabled check first!

We get our take away from here and the chicken kebab with garlic sauce is the absolute best. Alway delivered by really friendly guys who areas polite.

I haven't actually been inside maximum diner but have had a takeaway from there. It was great. Fast delivery, very reliable.

Greasy smell and greasy burgers. Oil smelt stale and was not hot enough to make potato crispy. Went in on the off chance. Probably not going to go back.

We only ordered basic food but the fact they deliver so late of a night is just brilliant when you get back from the pub.

Great American style restaurant run by friendly local folks. Simple food well presented and very good value from a burger to a steak from Bishops the Butchers. Super family venue

Enjoyed my burger (maximum) I would definitely recommend it. My children had the kids burger and pizza. It was definitely enough. Pizza was lovely. My wife had the chilli hash wow now that is exactly what I will be eating next time.

Just passing through stopped to have lunch.It's a lovely little American Diner type restaurant. I had a Burger & Fries & a shake.Very clean, very nice & very decent portions. Staff were very friendly. Very good service although very busy.

My wife and I had the miss fortune to eat here last night , after a evening with friends we popped in for late night munches.It's been a few year since last visit where you got good tasty food served by friendly staff it's just a shame that things have gone to pot now...Being that the diner is the only place in the early hours open in Uckfield we ordered two burgers and fries.Being open at this time of the morning opposite a night club they must encounter all types of inebriated people but the fact we had been out enjoying a evening with friends we were not! But we're treated as if we were .The food was poor and over cooked and my wife voiced her opinion about the quality of her burger she was told " so it's a charcoal cooked burger" that's why it's black dry and like cardboard.No mention of a fresh cooked replacement or refund just rudely spoken too .... how they are still open I can only think !Would not recommend , got to be the worst place in town...

Totally the best food in Uckfield with great service. Not posh but great quality and good value. Real burgers made with 100% meat!

Been going here since I was small - great little diner. The diner itself could do with a revamp, but the food is great - recommend the burgers & the hash. Staff are very friendly & they do lovely milkshakes too!

This is a typical fast food restaurant with individual dishes. It is very good value for money and the quality of food is better than average

The food is average, recent price rises mean what was a bit expensive is now over priced for what it is. Customer service is poor also, they got our order completely wrong then rather than sorting it out told us we'd ordered something that didn't exist even though we had eaten it many times before! After a lot of faff we finally got the right food with no apology and just a lot of attitude. Will not return again.

Me and my husband always make a special trip up to this place! Happy staff, the best milkshakes ever and the amazing food.

So there went Christmas and New Year. Now it's the 2nd of January and what to do? Well my husband had heard of a hobby shop in Uckfield that was pretty much how we found Maximum Diner. Smelt pretty darned good so we wandered over. And post new years are brushed aside when we spotted they did hash. Real US-style done of a flat top hash. Well we could hardly pass that up could we. Being a passport-carrying Yank I could hardly pass up the opportunity so in we scuttled and within minutes were piling into the best hash I have found this side of the pond. Other half went for the traditional corned beef hash whilst I went for the chilli variety. Both were excellent - chilli has just the right amount of heat. And we both went for the milkshakes, raspberry and banana respectively. Large and lush by any standand. we staggered out into the fading day full and happy. The price was also more than reasonable. The only tiny teeny niggle would be that the menu (being detailed and rather long) made it hard to find that I could have ordered sour cream as a side order. Only found it out as the last forkfull was heading down. Won't make that mistake again though. Will certainly return.

The people who run this establishment can be likened to apes who have a primitave grasp tools, and the tools in this case being customer service. Not only have they been terribly rude and blunt to a family member when phoning to ask if they deliver pizza late at night, they have also been rude to me and many friends on numerous occasions for no apparent reason. The service is horrendous and their acumen when talking to customers is completely diminished. That being said if you do fancy a decent box of chips, chicken or a burger then its worth the money. Just make sure you get out as soon as you can.... and that they don't short change you.

Everytime we go into maximum diner the man who cooks is really rude along with the rest of the staff, they talk to you like absolute rubbish, even when we may pop in after a night out to get a late night snack they are impatient and treat you like your at school,

Decided to give this place a go as I always drive past and see how busy it is. We were not disappointed. Good food and very reasonable price!

Every new years day we go for breakfast, this year we decided to walk off our hangovers and head to Maximum Diner. We were not disappointed.. The breakfast was enormous, we were never going to eat it all! But we had a good go, a definite recommendation for the hangover cure!!
