The best restaurants in Alfriston Wealden South East

Our family live in various parts of the country and arranged to meet here at the Berwick Tea Rooms in memory of our late Mum. We weren't disappointed, we had the most delicious afternoon tea. The lovely Georgie made us very welcome and catered for all the family dietary requirements. We also had the canine division of the family with us -lovely Luna and adorable Diesel both were well behaved and were also catered for. The food was delicious. I can't select one particular favourite as everything was brilliant. Thankyou for such a delicious spread x

As a food truck it was a great idea. Offering different food options than the pub, the pizza team are so much fun and chatted to us while we waited for them to prepare our pizza right in front of us. And it was so full of flavours, a good dose of garlic in the sauce. Highly recommend as the are also operating at different venues in the area.

An absolutely must-visit!!! It was our first time at Poco, and it definitely won’t be our last. From the minute we sat down, we immediately felt so welcome and the atmosphere was really cosy. Not only was the food delicious and more-ish, the gentleman serving us recommended us wine to go with our food - which was genuinely the best wine I think I’ve ever tasted. We love the sound of their bottomless roasts and pasta workshops, so we will be back very soon!!!

Our Premier Deluxe Room was excellent. Everyone made us feel very welcomed from the time that we arrived until we checked out. Had dinner at the Hotel restaurant and the food was absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend it to anyone that's looking for a a relaxing weekend away. Will definitely be back.

Nice pub, beautiful inside and out and tucked away in a perfect location for walkers. Bar staff were nice and helpful and the fire warm and cosy. Only thing that let down the experience was the bossy, loud spoken lady who worked there with the straight brown hair, stripy top and glasses .. telling people what to do and where to position their dogs! Even took a gentleman’s table off him whilst he was enjoying a quiet drink by himself. Shouted to a couple she’d turned away to try the Harvester in Polegate as they walked out… just kind of ruined the nice atmosphere and took away the element of customer care.

I visited here with my family for cream tea and it was lovely- fresh handmade scones and friendly staff - I would recommend a visit .

After a walk from Berwick station we pop in on a Saturday just in time (well a bit late actually but they accommodated us with a smile) to catch a coffee and cake. Pity they close at 1pm on a Saturday. The staff were very friendly and the place looks and feels great. The coffee and cakes were excellent!

Still amazing even when going back 20 years later as a big kid! We did the Armadillo close encounter on a whim and is was worth every penny! We love Tank❤️

Been to this pub several times in the last year. Unfortunately the quality of the food has gradually got worse but today really topped it off as they advertise opening at 10.00am but upon arriving at nearly 11.30am we were abruptly told they dont open till midday and whilst they knew they advertised 10.00am they hadn’t changed this. Much better alternatives in neighboring pubs. We won’t be returning.

Visited this evening for the first time with my wife and daughter, amazing food and lovely staff, will definitely be back - thank you.

Ate dinner in here after a long walk from Eastbourne in the day. There was a big party in the main area so we sat in the room with the bar, food was tasty, good portion and reasonably priced. The picture is the steak, ale and mushroom!
