After a walk from Berwick station we pop in on a Saturday just in time (well a bit late actually but they accommodated us with a smile) to catch a coffee and cake. Pity they close at 1pm on a Saturday. The staff were very friendly and the place looks and feels great. The coffee and cakes were excellent!

They are a fantastic resource for the village and long may it continue. The staff are very friendly and they sell a lovely wide range of essentials as well as treats, hot food such as a good breakfast at the weekend or a hot bacon sandwich any time, superb local meats and pies, some great booze etc. etc.I always enjoy visiting and wish them well

Ripe village stores is a regular refreshment stop for Heathfield Cycle Club. It never fails! The coffee is delicious with cakes and savoury bites available too. Today we arrived with 18 members and they still served us promptly with a smile. Great place to visit. Thanks to all the staff

Very cute cafe/village shop. Staff were lovely and helpful. When I went in the atmosphere was charming. I purchased a steak and ale pie to take home and cook and it was delicious, it looks like there are events such as a pop up pub on soon which I'll return to check out

This is a lovely little cafe which I have visited a couple of times. Service can be haphazard though and staff don’t seem to be able to cope well with an influx of customers. I am recently vegan and I didn’t find it vegan friendly. Staff were reluctant to open a carton of soya milk for me to have with my tea saying it would be wasted. Staff commented that they ‘don’t get vegans in here’ which probably wasn’t meant to be rude but was dismissive of someone’s life choice. I won’t rush back.

We had passed the store many time when out riding but now it serves food and drink we have stopped many times. Always a friendly welcome. Cheese scones are delicious and worth a detour. Certainly value for money.

The extremely quiet little village off Ripe near Lewes has a delightful attraction: The Village Store/Post Office and Cafe. We fell into it after a walk in the countryside on a Bank Holiday, and were warmly greeted by the ladies who run the place, helping with dietary needs and going out of the way to be helpful. Not a place for Haute Cuisine, but plentiful and nourishing snacks, sandwiches, tea menus etc...using fresh local ingredients.

The place is so Quaint and the food is delicious. I just wish servers would listen to what the customers say I had water with lime in it and I already had it mixed in the line was squeeze to perfection and the server came back by and I and he asked me if I wanted more water and I said yes, for halfway to the top of this ice.Keep gave me a full glass of water, or nearly. It would not be a big deal, but the fact is, I explicitly asked for him to fill it halfway again. These servers, these days, they're just giving you what they want to have, they're not understanding in our paying attention, but they want to get a great tip fortunate for them. We tip well my boyfriend and I. But I am really getting aggravated with this. So overall, the meal was fine. It's just at these people do not listen.

Really disappointed. Arrived at 4ish on a Tuesday in half term with our 15 and 11 year old to a completely empty pub, just one patron sat at the bar. Really lovely cosy large area next to the fire that was empty but immediately told by bar staff we couldn't sit there with children due to licensing rules! We were allowed to sit in the drafty back lobby by the gents loos - not so great. Weird atmosphere, we clearly weren't welcome, shame as we'd planned a few rounds and dinner but we headed back to our local accommodation instead. Looked like a really quaint pub just wish we'd realised it wasn't somewhere for families.

This is my favorite tea shop. I love the rose cake and the scones are my favorite. They are so delicious. I want to go there every day. I am happy every time I visit here with my husband and my dog. The atmosphere is comfortable and the cake is delicious. The taste of the tea is good.

We had a meal here on Saturday as they were advertising a new menu. I had the salmon and my husband had the stuffed pork chop. Both dishes were so so lovely. The flavours were so fresh and the portions were really good as well. My husband said he hasn’t had a pork joint like it before and was blown away. You won’t be disappointed with the food here and we are fussy. The staff are all so lovely and really attentive. We will def be back soon
