Such a gorgeous place! My first visit but definitely not my last! Lucy was super lovely to us and made us feel very welcome! Being vegan, I felt super comfortable eating because of the detailed allergen menu. Highly recommend the vegan croquettes and butternut squash soup as they’re both stunning! Thank for you an incredible evening!

My wife and I visited the week before last on two occasions and as usual were delighted. This pub has it all; excellent food (good vegan/vegetarian options,) wonderful atmosphere (bright and airy in the summer, snug and cosy in the winter) and of course the superb Longmans beer. In addition the service is friendly, courteous and attentive without being intrusive or excessive. I have been coming here for at least 35 years and the standard never falters.

It's a lovely old pub with awesome service! The food is great and well worth the price. Making a trip out is recommended as is booking in advance. Local beer/ ale hasn't had far to travel, and I hear it's good, but I don't drink. Sometimes, they have live music on a Friday night.

I strongly recommend this pub, which is in a beautiful old listed building to anyone who loves good fresh pub food, a family friendly atmosphere, clean toilets and friendly staff. The pub has its own private parking and a garden at the back where there is a little bridge and space to walk around. Great for keeping kids occupied!

This has to be one of my most favourite pubs for the food. It's fantastic and portions are very large. Lovely garden areas, dogs allowed, service is really quick even in busy times, staff are always so friendly (visited on 3 occasions for food in the last month) I'd recommend for Vegans as well, they don't have loads of options but what they do have is really delicious. This is definitely a MUST VISIT. Well worth the 6 minutes drive from Cuckmere Haven.

A lovely village pub that I've been frequenting for several years. It has a lovely beer garden which was refurbished during the COVID lockdown. There is now a decked area in addition to tables on the lawn. There is a serving hut where some beer and food orders can be taken. The pub currently stocks the Long Man beers which are brewed a mere 320 metres away at the brewery. I had a delicious lunch here yesterday (Sunday 11th Aug 2024). My father and I both had the fish and chips washed down with some lovely Long Man Sleeping Giant beer. The service was fantastic, the food arrived really quickly and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The fish and chips were delicious.

Food really was extremely bad. Fish was not fresh, felt barely cooked. My partner's bean and sweet potato burger was pretty much just mashed sweet potato with something that tasted like marmite. I think it might have been the worse meal I've ever had in a restaurant. When asked how our food was we said it was not good and just got a pained sorry from a young server but that was it. No-one came out to speak to us, manager or chef. Pint was nice, chips were fine but it is not a gastro pub by the longest chalk. My partner did not want to make a fuss so we just left. Will not go again.

What a gem of a pub... Really nice food and atmosphere. Very clean and inviting. Loads of outside tables with views of the Sussex downs and county side. Carpark was reasonable size but would think it could be busy in Summer. Prices are comparable to other pubs and possibly lower than across the river in Alfriston. Had a fantastic meal and will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Looking forward to walking or cycling down from Seaford and using the beer garden in summer.... Update just popped in today (Friday lunch) no reservation but they did find us a table for 4 car park was filling up and a few braving the weather in the beer garden. Just after us a table of 6 walked in no reservation and that was the pub full. Thought we would be waiting due to being busy but food came out well cooked and tasty and in good time. Tried some more of the menu and still 5 stars from us

The Plough and Harrow is an absolutely lovely pub. We visited as a party of seven with three dogs and were seated at a table inside. Our drinks order was taken really quickly and when we had an issue with one of the drinks they immediately remedied it. We ordered four Franco chicken burgers, one fish and chips and two beef burgers. The food came really quickly and was absolutely delicious. The chicken burgers were a whole chicken breast that had been lightly battered, with a delicious homemade slaw and the chips were divine. The beef burger was similarly really nice and had loads of fresh salad in it. Just wished the chip portion was a bit bigger. When the child's beef burger came the kids meal had more chips than the adults meal did, as they put them in little metal pots for the adults meals. The inside of the pub is lovely it has loads of fairy lights and old fashioned swirly light bulbs. The staff members were really helpful. There were lots of menus around so we didn't have to share and the whole pub itself looked really clean. The toilets were also clean. That was a good range of seating inside as well as outside in the beer garden and further down past the car park there's also an additional garden with seating. The Plough and Harrow is obviously very popular as it was very busy and we went. I can see why, we had a lovely meal and we'll definitely be going back.

Lovely pub with such nice, welcoming staff. Tasty food and the best selection of long man beers. One bit of constructive criticism is that due to the sandwiches being quite expensive (£9) it would elevate them a bit to have nicer bread, crusty white or even a more upmarket ready sliced loaf would be better than the basic white sliced bread used. Small thing that would've made the experience 5/5. Thanks!

Really disappointed. Arrived at 4ish on a Tuesday in half term with our 15 and 11 year old to a completely empty pub, just one patron sat at the bar. Really lovely cosy large area next to the fire that was empty but immediately told by bar staff we couldn't sit there with children due to licensing rules! We were allowed to sit in the drafty back lobby by the gents loos - not so great. Weird atmosphere, we clearly weren't welcome, shame as we'd planned a few rounds and dinner but we headed back to our local accommodation instead. Looked like a really quaint pub just wish we'd realised it wasn't somewhere for families.
