I have almost no memory of eating out when I haven't walked away saying "That was OK, but I have had better". But today I loved every bite! I will highly recommend this place in the future!! Staff was so kind; not overbearingly pushy or sweet... just a really positive experience! Thank you for a wonderful meal out!

This is a friendly, hard working, more than decent pub in idyllic surroundings which is why I have given it 5 stars for everything. The food is better than most - the desserts are particularly fabulous - service is spot on and the place has more than its fair share of Syssex warmth.

The Plough and Harrow is an absolutely lovely pub. We visited as a party of seven with three dogs and were seated at a table inside. Our drinks order was taken really quickly and when we had an issue with one of the drinks they immediately remedied it. We ordered four Franco chicken burgers, one fish and chips and two beef burgers. The food came really quickly and was absolutely delicious. The chicken burgers were a whole chicken breast that had been lightly battered, with a delicious homemade slaw and the chips were divine. The beef burger was similarly really nice and had loads of fresh salad in it. Just wished the chip portion was a bit bigger. When the child's beef burger came the kids meal had more chips than the adults meal did, as they put them in little metal pots for the adults meals. The inside of the pub is lovely it has loads of fairy lights and old fashioned swirly light bulbs. The staff members were really helpful. There were lots of menus around so we didn't have to share and the whole pub itself looked really clean. The toilets were also clean. That was a good range of seating inside as well as outside in the beer garden and further down past the car park there's also an additional garden with seating. The Plough and Harrow is obviously very popular as it was very busy and we went. I can see why, we had a lovely meal and we'll definitely be going back.

The food was very disappointing. Two from our party had the chicken pie which was soggy and tasteless. I had the vegan bowl which was very uninspiring...basically a bowl of chickpeas and butternut pieces with the odd piece of kale and broccoli and a side bowl of boiled potatoes ! Very overpriced and won't be returning.

I visited for a lunch and was told that I could only have a snack in the garden and then told I could have a starter but I would have to carry it to the garden myself. I asked where I could sit inside and was directed to a small table but then told I couldn’t sit there so had to sit at the bar. I found the staff very rude and disrespectful and the food was average at best. I will not be visiting again.

Lovely pub with such nice, welcoming staff. Tasty food and the best selection of long man beers. One bit of constructive criticism is that due to the sandwiches being quite expensive (£9) it would elevate them a bit to have nicer bread, crusty white or even a more upmarket ready sliced loaf would be better than the basic white sliced bread used. Small thing that would've made the experience 5/5. Thanks!

Again, whilst holidaying in Seaford I met up with another friend, his daughter and her boyfriend for an evening meal. It was my choice, so there I was on Trip Advisor checking out local’ish pubs to eat in when this one popped up….. and I’m so glad it did. A lovely quaint pub in the middle of nowhere, and I can only imagine how lovely it would be to sit in the garden on a nice summers day… let’s be honest we’ve not had the best of summers this year and on this particular day it had rained all day! Anyway, I had booked and glad that I had done so as it was fairly busy with diners for a week night, but that’s always a good sign. I had the shepherds pie topped with blue cheese and so did my friend and we both thought it was delicious, so would recommend this dish. I really hope to get back there sometime on a sunny day.

A little tucked away gem! Too busy for us to get a table, as we had not booked ahead. Everything was full, so we sat at the bar for a relatively light lunch. Service was good, as was the beer and food. My only comment would be that the Ploughman's lunch could do with an apple's acidity to compliment the cheese selection. We will return AND book ahead :)

We had a poor fish & chips here, the fish smelt and tasted like it had gone off. These things happen on warm days - it was more disappointing to be told that we were wrong and the chef thought the fish was fresh! Unnecessarily defensive attitude from the lady behind the bar, and I'd question a professional chef who is not able to tell when food is clearly not edible, which has made me feel it necessary to leave an honest review.

That said, my starter was most definitely not fresh (other than the pitta) & my main which was cauliflower, Chickpea & Spinach curry was swimming in oil, no creamy curry ness to it. Our meals & 2 alcoholics drinks came to £68 - quite pricey & I can’t say I’ll be rushing back!

But we were horrified at being charged £11.20 for a glass of mediocre French Chardonnay. Surely that can’t be right, and I should’ve queried it. There didn’t appear to be a price list for wines by the glass displayed which I am sure, can’t be legal. Anyway, a lesson was learned and it won’t happen again!

The three of us met in this old pub for lunch on Sunday at around 12.15 to 12.30 pm. The place was very busy and our table was quite close to the bar. My wife and I chose two ploughmans one cheddar and 1 pork pie. These were very good and for drinks I had 2 americano coffees and my wife a bottle of sparkling mineral water. Our friend had a starter and a salad. When we asked for the bill we received an incorrect bill (£82+) which had bottles of wine and had nothing to do with us. Unfortunately I did not check properly the second bill well enough and later noted 3 bottles of mineral water and a splash of lime so was roughly £5 overcharged. I don't like that so will not be recommending this pub.
