Piccolo Cafe in Wealden

Oh gosh I soooo recommend this cafe. Service was quick and lovely. And as the food - all home made on the premises. We only had bacon sandwiches and coffee, both of which were perfect but everything else looked really tasty (especially quiches!). Cakes looked amazing as well but am more of a savoury person. Go and see!!

I really wanted to like this spot, but maybe it's because they're understaffed that my order took 40 minutes to arrive (on a Wednesday no less!), by which time my coffee was well and truly finished with. plus the scrambled eggs were so clumpy it almost felt like the kind you stir from a bag. if you're going to make someone wait that long for food, the food should be on point! alas...... one star for having good bakes, another for being a cute place, and an extra one for being dog friendly tho. at least the dogs in the cafe made the long wait tolerable!

Wow the pizzas they make on a Friday are brilliant. And the breakfasts are good too

Purchased a couple of takeaway pizzas and an accompanying garlic bread. The pizzas were excellent or výborný if you prefer, great tasting and huge. The young woman doing the food prep is very friendly. Well worth a visit

Over priced full English, decent sausage, soggy hashbrowns, inconsistent eggs one hard one was snotty and a tea spoon of beans, bread was decent. Children portions and a cold cup of tea.

Lovely quirky cafe serving quality food and drinks, my wife and I regularly brunch about at the weekend and popped into piccolos which we’ve passed a couple times. The service was great with genuine friendly staff, it can get a little loud as a small cafe but that’s all part of its charm, great local food and produce

This cafe is really special . The staff are amazing , so lovely to see how much they care about their customers providing a real community cafe It was so heart warming to see the interest they all took in their regular clients knowing when it was their birthday or where they had been. Totally genuine Oh yes and the food looked great too !! As we only had a coffee . Keep up the good work .👍🏼

This is how every village cafe should be. Great food, great service and lovely ambience. Highly recommend the cakes and if you really want to indulge yourself go for the Piccolo Breakfast. Just make sure you walk it off afterwards! It's also a great place to perch with your laptop occasionally if you're WFH ;)

One of my favourite friendly spots in Wadhurst. I have quite a few food intolerances. There's always something on the menu to accommodate or they make adjustments to suit, as best they can. I enjoy the simple deliciousness of their food...alway enjoyed with a glass of icy kombucha in the summer or great coffee in the winter.

It's a coffee shop. It is already good for coffee and light snacks.

The service operates at glacial speed. It was not busy but I waited 10mins for an americano and a Danish pastry that was on the counter! Coffee arrived before the pastry which I had to chase up. They decided to heat the pastry and scatter icing sugar on it, without asking me...why?

I have lived all around the world and love to find the best Cafes where ever we go and this one ranks as one of the best so far. From the owners care, the team going above and beyond the decor, incredible coffee and most importantly for us dog friendly. Such a great place to relax, work, meet friends or just to be in a space where you are made to feel extremely welcome. Can't wait to visit again.

Food was very good. Brie and bacon baguette was delightful and filling. Rocky road was also phenomenal. Would highly recommend.

The hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows was delicious. The cafe is also dog friendly, which was brilliant as I could take my dog in as well.

Hey everyone! I just had the most amazing experience at this restaurant. When I walked in, I was clueless about what to order. But one of the staff members came to my rescue and recommended a delicious sandwich. Let me tell you, it was absolutely mouthwatering! Not only was the food top-notch, but the staff treated me with such kindness and warmth. It felt like I was receiving a motherly love. I couldn't leave without leaving a review, that's how incredible it was! Highly recommend this place. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Welove he atmosphere in this cafe! Everyone is so friendly and it’s full of locals! Sometimes there’s a short wait, but surely in these busy times it does no harm to wait……we haven’t eaten there yet but I gather the food is delicious!

Piccolo Café is a rather special place to enjoy good coffee, tasty food, friendly service and an atmosphere seldom found in the hospitality industry. The owner Jana has created a venue reflecting her creativeness, personality and need to please the customer. It is testimony to character to give the customer the best experience possible. A big thumbs up for this venue.

We visited as a group of >10 for brunch and had an excellent experience. The team was well organised taking our booking and food order in advance, and were a delight looking after us on the day. The menu is varied and child-friendly, and the food delicious. The venue has a very nice atmosphere with toys available for little ones. All in all, I’d gladly recommend Piccolo’s in Wadhurst.

Fab little cafe with delicious food. Quite last minute I requested a breakfast order for collection for 22 people but they made it so straightforward as if they did that every morning! I wasn’t disappointed with the food either, delicious. They totally met all our needs including quite a few specific dietary requirements, nothing was too much issue. Highly recommend! The bacon baps went down a storm!

Such a wonderful little gem! Child and dog friendly, wonderful ambiance and delicious coffee (even had Oatly, for the oat milk connoisseurs among us). The staff were super friendly and welcoming! Needless to say - we’ll definitely be back ;)

Took my godson here for lunch today and he loved it. He's 8 and felt very grown up being able to have what he wanted off the menu. The staff are always so lovely and friendly here and nothing is too much trouble. It can get very busy but do give it a try - it is well worth it.

Lovely food but way too slow. We went in for a light breakfast on Saturday morning. The cafe wasn’t full and had several staff working. The empty tables needed clearing and cleaning. After we had ordered it took over half an hour for a BLT and sausage bun to arrive. They were delicious but the service was too slow to make me want to return.

When you walk into piccolo cafe it looks like a gem with its nik naks and odd chairs that give a rustic feel. Sadly we must have arrived at just the wrong time, lunchtime! Food was chaos,even though there were not too many people waiting. It was 10 mins for a cuppa for just one of us, after which we were told that the local shops had no speciality tea for my wife, and sadly unhappy customers were having a disagreement with staff. Nobody was checked on so a couple, set up with their laptops, were having an undisturbed time and probably thought what a great location.

We thoroughly enjoyed the mushrooms on sourdough toast. Absolutely delicious, done in garlic with added green pesto and spinach leaves. What a treat. Coffee was excellent. Lovely atmosphere and staff very friendly.

We loved the Piccolo café! Amazingly nice staff, dog friendly (James loved the little treats!) and the food (cake and lunch during the day and the pizza in the evening) was delicious and homemade!

Disappointing. We’ve probably visited here about 12 times over the last few years. Always been a bit hit or miss. Sadly around here we lack good restaurants so we have to make do with what we have. Pizzas have always been good although they don’t do the mezze anymore which is a shame. Service has always been slow. They even have notes to inform you of it. We visited today and there was only us and another table and 2 people wanting take aways. Coffees took a while. Husbands breakfast came out, mushroom on sourdough. It wasn’t sourdough. It had pesto which was a strange combo and the egg was undercooked (snotty) and spinach leaves uncooked chucked on top. He ate it as he was hungry. I was still waiting for my croissant as they ran out of jam. Eventually our coke came out when my husband was almost finished, even though it was ordered at the start. We get so frustrated that restaurants just can’t do basic/simple things anymore and that you have to go to bigger towns/London to get decent food/service.

Stopped here a couple times for lunch. Good quality food and of course great coffee. Very helpful when my phone struggled to connect to the Wi-Fi

A lovely friendly cafe, with tasty take away pizzas. Super service. Can highly recommend for meeting a friend over coffee or a break. The pizzas are always delicious.

It was first time of using the Piccolo Cafe and all in all a good experience. The cafe was extremely busy. When I went to order the owner explained they were short staffed and provided an approximate time for how long our food order would be. This was really helpful and managed our expectation. What I wasn't expecting was just how delicious my food would be. I had a cheese and ham toastie as I only wanted something. It was fantastic and someone must has sprinkled magic over it as it was the best toastie I've ever eaten. The coffee that accompanied it was fresh and hot and all in all an unexpected treat. Thank you. Only one niggle and this is I guess a personal preference. Heart FM playing loudly isn't in keeping with the ambience and atmosphere you portray. Perhaps something less commercial, gentler on the ears thus allowing your customers to talk to one another without shouting. Though maybe that's just me. Thank you again.

I’m a local so use this cafe weekly always met with happy bubbly staff makes you feel so welcome , there’s also a little table at the back with games and books for the children , always have the goodies out front , food is always YUMMY and even better Thursday-Saturday is pizza night !!!!!!

What a bagette! Containing avocado , Chorizo and halloumi. AND their special sauce. Brilliant! AND they are now offering fresh bread.

Absolutely delicious lunch today of very fresh and beautifully put together avocado on toast, one of the nicest I’ve had anywhere. Lovely atmosphere and great staff. People may think the pandemic is over but it’s knock on effects are not and many cafe staff are working their socks off covering for low staff numbers through no fault of their own and still providing excellent food and service and they deserve recognition. Thanks again 😋

This is a stand out café! Fabulous food and warm, welcoming staff. We visited several times, enjoying a burrito lunch and a breakfast. Mushrooms on toast and Avocado on toast were exceptional and so very tasty. The food is all made to order so bear that in kind when ordering. This is a fantastic place to have breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and pizza dinners. We wish the ladies all the the very best success in the future !

We had delicious takeaway away pizzas last weekend, the sour dough bases were light and tasty and the toppings were fresh and very generous. Fantastic value for beautiful fresh pizza, and 3 pizzas would serve 4 people for dinner. Cafe is very nicely decorated, the owner was really friendly. Gutted I didn't have time for cake as they looked incredible!

Stopped to have breakfast one morning and had a delicious sausage bun. It was served quickly and tasted great. Coffee is good quality and I was served by very friendly staff. The decoration and atmosphere is delightful, will definitely be back soon.

7 of us visited for breakfast after parkrun and had booked a table so they were forewarned of a big group. The food was excellent quality but incredibly slow to come. Lovely staff just a shame about the wait, even then everything arrived in dribs and drabs. I would go back but not in a large group.

Disappointing experience for a second time. Gave the cafe the benefit of the doubt but really wish I had listened to my gut. Ordered a toastie & sausage bap, slice of cake and 2 drinks. Had to wait 40 minutes for food as simple as a toastie. 4 staff working yet still a huge wait time. Was advised of a 10 minute wait. The cafe has seating for around 30, of which not all were full so I'm unsure as to why there was such a long wait. Clearly not managed great. When food came out, I did not touch it due to it being covered in mustard. Very unhappy with the overall experience, very expensive and disappointed with the wait time.

A lovely ambience with friendly staff, tasty drinks and good food, both meals and snacks are delicious. The staff go out of their way to provide an efficient service; the result is loyal and happy customers. A village gem.

Husband and I stopped here on the way to Kent. We both had toasted sandwiches which were generous and delicious. Cakes looked delicious but we were too full. Would certainly go back... the staff were lovely.
