Our stay did not start well when my wife discovered that her pre-booked spa treatment had not been logged and they could not facilitate it. However, the reception manager (Michelle?) was exceptional in resolving this issue and arranging an alternative treatment the next day. Excellent service!

Had the pleasure of staying at Dean’s Place Hotel for a few nights and was thoroughly impressed. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout my stay. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished, offering a stylish and contemporary atmosphere. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well maintained. A truly enjoyable experience.

Loved my recent 3 night stay here. Welcoming and friendly staff that made me feel at home. Ate in the restaurant twice in the evening and food is delicious and plentiful. Good selection of wine by the glass too. Room very comfortable although bathroom was a bit on the small side and difficult to navigate around the door & a large basin! Great shower though. Beautiful decor and gardens in all parts of the hotel and the spa area was very relaxing. Blessed by warm weather for early May meant I was able to enjoy the sun by the outdoor pool. Quick dip too and it was heated just enough. Area around the hotel is great for hiking and I enjoyed some long rambles direct from the hotel. Also popped on local bus to Charleston farmhouse which was a fascinating home of the Bloomsbury set. Walked back from there via church in Berwick that has murals painted by Duncan Grant. Definitely want to return!

We had a great short stay here. Alfriston is pretty and the hotel's location is perfect for walks along the South Downs Way - we had a fantastic long walk through some beautiful villages and woodland. The hotel is smart and comfortable with attractive grounds. Staff were helpful, welcoming and lovely. Dinner was very good, I think they could have done with an additional waiter though as there was sometimes a long wait to be served. Enjoyed the spa and swimming pool, which were quiet (Wednesday/Thursday) and very clean with friendly staff. I had a blissful jade facial with Maia who was absolutely excellent, completely recommend.

Ok hotel wouldn't say it was 4* though. Dated in places and in need of some work. Hot water in rooms could be alot hotter also. Afternoon tea was good. Service for the afternoon tea was slow and lacking that 4* expectation

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was very nice and clean, the bed was very comfy. We ate in the dining room which is very spacious and the food choice is great, I had lamb and it was very filling. The bar is nice and cosy with a nice warming fire.

Stumbled across this lovely little pub one lunchtime, had a great meal and enjoyed the atmosphere. Returned yesterday after work with more folk - it didn't fail me. Friendly and attentive Guv'nor serving great value delicious food and brilliant prices.... GF fish & chips too. Bright and sunny outdoor seating, family friendly and dogs welcome. Just what a pub should be. Highly recommended.

If you like Steak and Stilton pie, this 16thC pub is the best - a generous slice with every bite meaty with luscious Stilton. My son had the Bull’s Head pie and that was good too! Very accommodating service as well with lovely real Harvey’s ales on draft!

Family stayed here before our wedding. We contacted via phone and despite our big group, they were very accommodating. We had drinks' dinner and then stayed the night. The owners who I believe have recently taken over were very nice. There were a few small issues with the launch of the new food menu but this was rectified quickly l. The food was generally very good. The rooms were very practical. The beds were comfortable' showers hot and all was clean and very good value.

Really disappointed tonight. Normally absolutely beautiful but tonight the meat was so fatty & chewy. To be honest the only thing that was ok was the onion bjargi & nan bread. Potatoes were half & half & i suppose the rice was okish. Really upset as will have to find another indian.
