We loved it! This is a completely renovated hotel, warm welcome by beautiful staff, very good food, the nicest wine list and great location nest to Seven Sisters cliffs 😉

Huge place but somewhat neglected. Apparently for sale. Room pleasant quiet, good view. Bed comfortable. All appliances worked. Good breakfast with a wide variety of choice. Dinners variable. Staff extremely helpful & obliging.

Ok hotel wouldn't say it was 4* though. Dated in places and in need of some work. Hot water in rooms could be alot hotter also. Afternoon tea was good. Service for the afternoon tea was slow and lacking that 4* expectation

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was very nice and clean, the bed was very comfy. We ate in the dining room which is very spacious and the food choice is great, I had lamb and it was very filling. The bar is nice and cosy with a nice warming fire.

Apr 2025 Still one of the best places for breakfast I've come across anywhere in the UK. Still doing a great job all the way around. Always look forward to breakfast here when in Hailsham 2023 First, remember its a small family run traditional cafe with all day breakfast that has multiple menu options plus traditional English menu. The service was happy and friendly. The food was properly prepared to order. Wait time was reasonable considering every table was occupied pretty close to capacity. For a local traditional cafe its a definite winner. Don't sit by the front door on a cold day, door doesn't self close and nobody seems to understand the sign on the door to close it properly. Only downside to the experience. Funny how the old people close the door properly and those under 50 don't seem to comprehend the sign 🤣🤣🤣 Be nice if the fixed or replaced the door.

Family stayed here before our wedding. We contacted via phone and despite our big group, they were very accommodating. We had drinks' dinner and then stayed the night. The owners who I believe have recently taken over were very nice. There were a few small issues with the launch of the new food menu but this was rectified quickly l. The food was generally very good. The rooms were very practical. The beds were comfortable' showers hot and all was clean and very good value.

Travelled up from Eastbourne and most definitely worth the journey! Such a beautiful pub, welcoming staff and amazing service! Only popped in for drinks and a light snack but will definitely be coming again! Menu looks beautiful. Lovely beer garden right under the sun. Absolutely nothing to complain about it was absolutely stunning!!

Was looking for a pub with a garden suitable for kids and stumbled across this pub on google. We was not disappointed! They have setup the garden so well, with a large park structure for kids, along with TV, table tennis, giant chess and pool tables outside- it’s a families dream! Varied seating such as bench seats, patio tables and even enclosed pods. The food was generous portions for reasonable prices and the two young lads doing all the waiting Saturday were tremendous!! Tentative, very quick to clear plates and friendly. Be good if food options included sandwiches/ciabattas or something. This pub just made its way to No1 pub for us 🙂
