Good food, reasonable prices and a warm atmosphere with a couple of open fires.

Great food and hosts , new landlords took over 3 weeks ago and making a real effort to welcome guests we will come again.

A very traditional pub, log fires and a warming atmosphere. Friendly staff - a great roast for a table of 12, completely faultless! Will return

We ate lunch Wednesday. I have an onion intolerance which restricts choice- I chose fish and chips .My wife’s scampi were plump and tasty. My plate was attractive and full, the chips crunchy and fluffy on inside. All superb. Then followed a day and half camped in the bathroom, very uncomfortable. What had onion ? The batter ? Waitrose and others now put onion in. Or was it the tartare ?

Best burgers in town , juicy , beefy all round best burger , deffo will be back ❤️❤️❤️

We were visiting my aunt about a month ago, at a nearby rest home. Not having been to uckfield before, we had to rely on reviews, to choose our Sunday lunch venue & stumbled across Ringles Cross on Google. Luckily, the positive reviews were accurate & I'm just surprised the pub wasn't busier, based on our experience. We had 3 roasts & a scampy & chips for my 12 year old nephew, who inexplicably, doesn't like roasts 🤔 The scampy was generous, with really crispy chips & fish, with a bit of salad 🥗 The roasts were fantastic - really well cooked, plentiful portions of meat, really roastie roasties & decent selection of veg, al dante & cauliflower cheese included. What we all liked, was the fact they brought out an extra gravy boat & all the sauces, without asking - a nice touch. The service was efficient, friendly, but not obtrusive at all. We also had 4 sweets, which were lovely & drinks. All told (we added a tip) it was £120 for 4 of us, which was really reasonable for the quality of the food. As mentioned, the pub was surprisingly quiet, but that suited us, as we were on a slight deadline. You definitely got the impression it was a well run pub & the stuff seemed keen that we'd had a nice time/ good food. We would highly recommend it & I'm sure when we visit my aunt again, we'll be back for more! 🙂

Great find on Google Maps. Food looked beautifully placed on our plates, 4 x Roast dinners. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere with all ages enjoying the venue. Smoking area and separate garden area. Parking on site. Happy find 😁

Went here for a roast lunch yesterday, the food was delicious and at a fair price. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I will definitely return.

Great pub, nice relaxed atmosphere. Didn't eat here but the food looked to be very very good, will definitely return one day soon to try it out. Large outdoor space for this time of the year.

We had a very nice meal at a very good price, and I would recommend you to go. Food is pub grub well done. Oh and very important to me dog friendly.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday and got a table as they where busy the bar staff where very nice and helpful. We did not have a roast but they did look very good had ham egg and chips and sausage and mash which where both very good. The portions are large but good and great value for the cost nice pub and will be coming back

Friendly staff and lovely ambiance. I understand the chef here is new - food delicious, beautifully presented and really tasty. Great portion sizes and great variety on the menu as well. Visited on a mid week weekday evening, was impressed and will return

New manager ,Friendly ,pool table and sky TV. Great atmosphere have just had the Sunday lunch (yes they are back !!) great food ,good sized portions and reasonably priced cant complain about a thing come and try for yourselves. The kitchens have been closed for a while but back open now (08/02/23) ,the food is still of great quality and fair sized portions for a reasonable price .

Have you ever seen the film American Werewolf in London where the two guys walk into the pub ?! Unfriendly staff and very clique - if you face doesn't fit you are made to feel unwelcome . Avoid if you can !

Had an amazing home-made Sunday lunch here of roast beef and all the usual trimmings. Rather too large a portion for me,but might not be for others Veg beautifully cooked,good presentation,(could do with a bigger plate!! ) and all for £14.50 Friendly pub atmosphere too

I am pleased to say i would recommend the Ringles Cross pub to all from the very first time i came to the Ringles when my wife and i came to view our new home we were really impressed with the warm friendly way we were welcomed both by all the staff and also the locals nothing was too much trouble i have travelled all over Europe and the near middle east all my working life so i don’t give praise unless it’s deserved but it will tell you how good the Ringles is when i tell you i visit almost every day since my first time and will continue to do so unreservedly Andy Scott👍👍

If I could honestly rate a 0 I would clearly they allow anyone in here no matter what while dining the food while over priced was acceptable the language and behaviour of both staff and customers is why I wouldn’t return which is a huge shame thing pub used to be the place to be especially on the weekends! Now it’s boring and dull over priced with foul mouthed staff and customers!!

Dont know uckfield but was recommended this pub + looking at the reviews thought it needed a visit. So glad we did as the food, service & atmosphere couldn't have been better. Especially as 2 meals for £15. We will be back.

We went for a Sunday roast for 6 people and it was lovely. Massive food portions and every cut of meat was perfect. The staff were helpful and very good. We will be back

Everything was great ! The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and very generous with portion which means they genuinely care about their customers. Nice and quiet place, very clean and free parking. The best toilets I have seen in a pub ! I recommend this place wholeheartedly.

It's a few years since we ate here last (I wrote a 'good' review) so it was convenient to return for lunch. We had a cheery, warm welcome and sat near one of the warm log fires. We needed a quick meal and this was delivered from a long menu. The garlic mushroom starter was very good and our mains of madras curry (spicy hot) and sausage & mash also hit the spot. We intended ordering glasses of wine but the server suggested it would be cheaper to have a screw top bottle and take any surplus home - very enterprising. The curry was so spicy I needed all the 'spare' wine from the bottle before we left! Too full for dessert. In conclusion this remains a reliable venu so maybe we'll return sooner this time.

What a friendly place to go for a meal. I had scampi & chips, one of my companions had meat pie & veg. The other had ham egg & chips. Which I will have next time. My food was hot. But apart from the pie being hot. The veg wasn't. But the ham & eggs looked delicious. A large thick slice of ham, with 2 fried eggs on top. Cooked just how I like them done myself. The ham was so lean & tender. Pudding was nice too. Nice choice too. 1 Sticky toffee pud & custard. 1 Choc sponge, with choc sauce & custard. & 1 Ice cream. A scoop of each of the flavours, & a coupe of those yummy biscuit tubes. All in all. A very nice place to visit. I recommend it to anyone, especially for the set price, 2 meals deal. Which is on Mon's, Tue's & Wed's. The loos were super clean, & well stocked with loo rolls.

Went there for lunch, a very nice menue with good food, and friendly service. The pub is located just north of Uckfield town in a quite place. It also has an outside area used during summer months.

We were taken here by our friends, whilst visiting them. Went for the pub quiz on a Wednesday. Food was amazing. Service was friendly, quick and with a smile. The pub quiz was well organised (the fact we won helped!) and I would highly recommend this pub!

Wonderful friendly atmosphere, great beers and wines. Sunday lunch was delicious! Big portions, good menu choices. Lunch was so big couldn't finish it but the dog certainly helped out, much to her delight. Will definitely be going again for drinks and food.

Dod and child friendly are in garden where there are benches for eating and drinking too. A variety of food on offer and some veggie options. Good choice of beers and cider for those with a discerning palate.

This was our first visit from Brighton to see family that have moved further up the high street in uckfield, booked a table as we were not sure how busy the place would be, staff were absolutely great aswell as the food, our family are so delighted to have found a really good local

I can only comment on the car park! As the pub was closed. Bit of narrow entrance but easy parking once in. Look forward to trying out the hospitality in future!

We was out and about and needed lunch inside on a cold day with our dog. Phoned and got a warm welcome. Lovely inside, lovely owners. Limited menu but a jacket potato and a burger could not have been any better. We shared a homemade cheesecake - to die for. And it had an openfire.

Grateful to find somewhere open lateish on a Sunday evening with a car park. We didn't eat, but the beer was good and the barmaid was welcoming. A bit disappointed however in the rather basic décor and hard furnishings which meant it had little atmosphere.

Never been to this pub before always passed it going to town and just called in for the first time I’m glad we did as we had excellent Sunday lunches thank you so much your roast dinner were a feast for eyes.

All food is home made and perfectly cooked. Portions are quite big, but prices quite low, so offer superb value. All staff and friendly and very helpful. Probably the best place to eat in the Uckfield area.
