This was my first time in The Bull's Head and will certainly not be my last. A busy pub with a realy good atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the food was excellent served hot, perfectly cooked and very tasty. Portion sizes were spot on. Bull's Head pie was delicious! My wife is a Vegetarian and we were most impressed by the varied menu choices available for her too. Thank you for an excellent evening and we will see you again soon.

Great pub, full of charm and character. Beer was cold and clean tasting. Staff were nice, friendly & attentive. The Bulls Head pie was spot on (beef and ale if I remember correctly) plenty of filling to the pie too. Lots of vegetables & gravy. Sticky toffee pudding was great too. I'd certainly recommend visiting here. Only downside was gents toilets could do with a clean/refresh as there was a bit of a smell, peeling wallpaper and some mould.

Not really a pub for locals, although they intend to be. Its location along the A-road means workers land here on their way home, boisterous and loud. But other than that, good enough

Visited The Bulls Head today after a few years, and its absolutely delightful. The Staff are extremely friendly, and our food was outstanding. The Burger with Bacon and Cheese was delicious, as was the Salmon fillet with a Hollandaise sauce and the portions were huge. I can't recommend it high enough, and must thank all the staff for making our journey well worth the 140mile round trip. From Ray,Rosemary, and our dog Susie Today October 30th @12 noon.

We love this pub so much, the food is always spot on. Only criticism this visit was the noise - it would be nice for the restaurant to be separate - 6 young guys with no volume control was a bit hard to enjoy our meal and have a conversation. We left in the end. Usually it gets 5 star from us. Doesnt put us off coming again, amazing food and staff - thank you.

I am sorry to say our visit to the Bulls Head was a disappointment. Shoved into the corner on a table I could not get my legs under. My wife and I stayed here camping for three nights,we had lunch in the pub once and had a few drinks while we we’re staying on site. The landlady and bar staff couldn’t do enough, from letting us pitch up our tent earlier (as it was quiet and check in) before paying,to recommending places to walk our dog and also telling us which pubs in the area have a good atmosphere for the football. The food in the pub is very nice and the drinks are a very reasonable price (£5 for a Morreti, you can’t go wrong) Also the camping site, has two showers which you don’t always see on camp sites. (Perfect set up) Great atmosphere, the beer and food shack is a great idea and we used this once. Again great food and very reasonably priced. So overall we throughly enjoyed our stay and the staff were very welcoming. We have already recommended this pub/camping site to friends and family and we will definitely be returning in the near future…(We can’t wait to return)

Booked 2 nights camping in our van at the bulls head for tonight (11-4-24) and Friday night, when we arrived we were told that the camping field was closed due to it being water logged and were offered a pitch in the pub car park, I explained to the landlady that we needed grass to pitch our tent awning, the part of the car park that we were offered was to be honest a tip, rubbish, an overflowing skip, a burnt out bonfire and about as much aesthetic appeal as a middle East war zone. We politely declined the offer and tried to find a pitch nearby but with no luck, the lady said she could not offer us our deposit back but if we wanted to stay at a later date (unlikely) we could get a discount. They had our number as we had also booked in at their restaurant this evening as well and could of called and told us the field was inaccessible, 5 hour wasted trip, not happy.

We lunched on a Saturday for a 90th birthday celebration. This was our first visit to the Bulls. As i was the person doing the booking i was a little apprehensive but that was soon dispensed with as i felt right at home after a warm staff welcome. There is a real open fire which was alight, brilliant! Service and food was wonderful, we were all very happy particularly my partner who cannot eat any forms of sugar or flour. It`s my impression that a lot of the food is made on premises and not just bought in frozen which i think is to be commended. Two of us had the steamed syrup pudding which is made on premises and oh, how enjoyable was that! Yummy. This venue deserves a lot more complimentary reviews than it currently has here on TP.

We were looking forward to taking our family to what used to be a quintessential English pub which used to serve really good food. Oh how disappointed were we. We were put in the back in a really dark corner table, we could hardly get our legs under the table. We asked to be moved and at first they wouldn't but then after speaking to the manager they begrudgingly did. The food was mixed most of it was very underwhelming. Better bits whitebait and a seafood platter. Worst bit dried up Steak pie and vegetables were awful. Unfortunately we didn't visit the toilets until after eating our meals. Had we prior to eating we certainly would have left as they are disgusting. Needless to say we shall definitely not return.

We camped here over a weekend, despite the rules saying no music after 10pm, a group of men (yes 40 year old men!) played loud music until 3am. When they were asked to turn it down they became aggressive. Considering the campsite was full of kids it was totally unacceptable behaviour. The situation was mentioned to the owner the next day and she shrugged her shoulders and walked off. Apparently these idiots are there every year so I got the impression they were friends of the owner. Needless to say we’ll never go back.

It's really gone downhill. Chips soft and soggy. Huss (Rock) dry as a bone not fleshy as it should be. Had two separate haddock and chips a month or so ago and both had a hair in them. If you do go there, order your chips to be packed separately as the Huss box is smaller than the Haddock and you get a lot less chips as a result. We're going to the Harbour Fish and Chips now in West Street...even if though we don't get a slice of lemon (!).
