Brilliant country pub, great food and a lovely beer garden, pool tables, table tennis, large screens, friendly staff.

Fantastic find for us as we was walking the cuckoo trail. Soon as we arrived the 2 young staff male and female I didn't catch there names was very friendly and helpful. I asked them if its OK to bring our 2 dogs in to the beer garden and they said yes no problem. So all 4 of us got settled in the beer garden for a few beers and excellent food. We all had a great time. THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH. Keep up the good work you all do as it went a long way with all of us. If we ever get back down to horam again we will definitely be back 💯.

Very good value for money Sunday roast

Such a lovely place. Amazing garden. Food looked scrumptious and really reasonably priced.

This pub is amazing it has a lovely atmosphere and facilities it had free poll ping pong and mini foot ball + a massive chess bord and play place Thay had a massive 97 inch TV perfect for foot ball and amazing food

our first visit and was very pleasantly surprised the menu was nice . We visited on a Sunday lunchtime so roast is popular and they do different sizes for different appetites the garden out the back was amazing different levels with some lovely pods play area for children a real family orientated pub we had the burgers which were big and lovely cant wait to go back

Eat here twice while staying locally on a short break. Really enjoyed the food and found it good value for money.

This is the best pub I have been to in ages. The staff, especially Josh, were perfect even though half of our party were late. Nothing phased them and the food was excellent and very sensibly priced. We will be back and you should try it, I am sure you won't be disappointed.

We had a lovely lunch in this friendly, warm and inviting pub. Great welcome and really accommodating and kind staff and delicious roast lunch. Really recommend.

Lovely pub. Amazing food, we travel from Essex to see the In laws and always visit this pub for food and drinks. We have always had a lovely meal and have tried a few dishes now. A very good variety on the menu. Have to say the chicken ham and leek pie was outstanding today. Homemade and delicious. Staff are always very friendly. We really look forward to visiting this pub. There is also a large outside area with play equipment. Highly recommend.

Some lovely food here for a decent price. Also a decent outdoor are to sit and eat and for.kinds to play.

The food was gorgeous and they had a huge range of food on there menu for everyone, Great atmosphere, the staff were lovely and welcoming. One of the best pubs I have eaten at and been too.

Nice food with top drawer service.

Chef was off so understandably the food service was slow but worth the wait. Patio was lovely and clean. Other patrons were friendly and well worth a visit.

We just popped in for a drink on a Sunday, 13th August, evening. There was a darts match in play, but the friendliness of everyone was so welcoming. Chap behind the bar was so friendly and helpful, really nice. Haven't tried the food although it has been recommended so will go back for that. Took a look around the outside area. It was amazing, very large, lots of seating, games, and plenty of umbrellas. Probably the most impressive pub garden I have seen in a long time, so clean and tidy too. Will definitely be visiting again, hopefully try the Sunday lunch.

Hosts are very friendly and professional. Good selection of beers. Timing of food is near ideal. My Sunday roast was one of the best I've ever had. The place is definitely family and kids friendly - there are quite a few entertainments at the backyard.

We had a great meal at this pub on Friday night. The chicken pie was delicious and my partner just loved the Greek kebab. The waitress was just wonderful and looked after us well. This is just a great little country pub with the most amazing pub garden. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Not a great experience at all! There was what looked like a dog hair in my food then we was accused of putting it there by the owner or manager, saying we just wanted a free meal, then later that evening my partner got food poisoning he was sick with stomach cramps after having the chicken pie.. will defo not be going back! On the up side the waitress was so lovely and probably the only decent member of staff there

Lovely Sunday lunch, best pub roast I’ve had in a long time and very reasonably priced!

Went with a friend for lunch the Greek salad and chicken kebab were very nice ,and the Harveys bitter very moorish, second visit here and will certainly come back for more.

The food and atmosphere are always amazing at this pub! The staff are friendly and it has a great pub garden. Couldn't recommend this pub enough!

Had an hour to kill in Heathfield at midday so thought I'd find somewhere quiet for a bite to eat. The pub was surprisingly busy for a Thursday lunch time. Three real ales on and a good choice of lagers/cider. The homemade burger was superb and very good value. Chap behind the jump was friendly and very attentive despite being on his own and busy. The garden looked great and very kid friendly. Work was going on out there so hopefully the sun will come out and people will get to use it. Was well worth going that extra mile out of town.

Lovely friendly pub , great food and cocktails and very reasonably priced. My partner said his chicken ham and leek pie was the best he had ever tasted. All our was cooked fresh and delicious! We didn’t realise how far we would have to walk from where our campervan was parked at Horam Manor, unlit road without path in places … but was worth the trip. No cabs, no internet and was dreading the walk home with our 4 month old pup who couldn’t walk all the way there… the Landlord dropped us back! So grateful. ( though this isn’t the norm, so pre- book a cab if you can!) Great place to walk to in the daylight! Thoroughly recommend

Friendly and meals looked very good

A good variety on the menu at reasonable prices. Two drinks and three courses for two of us for £40. Food presented nicely.

Food is homemade and tasty. The portions are big for the money too. I have returned many times and will continue to do so.

Great little pub on the edge of heathfield. Friendly welcome. Outside seating very nice area with different levels. Nice ambient lighting at night. My son and I both had burgers which were really nice with fresh bread rolls at a good price. Kids play area at rear of garden. All in all a nice pub.

Really lovely food fairly priced and friendly service.

Visited yesterday evening for a meal with my colleague and two residents from Oakdown House. The food was amazing and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. We all had a lovely time, thank you so much we will be back soon

Small local pub with good food.

A lovely atmospheric pub. Went for a Sunday Roast. Ordered one pork and one beef. Very delicious. Accept the potatoes. Hard and chemical tasting. But despite that minor issue. It was value for money. Staff were welcoming. Highly recommend.

Didn't have the fish pie for my partner so had scampi and chips they were nothing special, I had fish and chips, the batter was too crispy, every time I tried to cut some off it flew across the table, prices were reasonable though, but no atmosphere

Only stopped for a quick pit stop, but it's a very nice pub. Lots of locals in it which is always a good sign.

Very lively pub when we visited latish Sunday afternoon. Exceptionally clean I thought. Especially the loos. Staff very friendly. The steak pie and chips with seasonal veg was to die for. Wonderful pastry. Perfect chips. Shame they don’t have Pepsi Max, but then you can't have everything. All told 11/10!

Myself, partner and an old school friend and his wife have had lunch here a couple of times now and have booked to go again soon. It's a very relaxed pub, used by locals. The food is excellent, although typically pub grub, but of a high standard. Remi/Remy, the barperson ( not sure how her name is spelt ) made us feel special and really welcomed. she'd a good sense of humour and could get our old mens jokes. They serve a variety of ales, one of which happens to be my favourite (doombar) and Harvey's all in all a very nice place to spend an afternoon with old schoolfriends to have a Chinwag and catch up

Great little find - staying on holiday not too far away. Had burger and chips there fairly average but lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

I just popped in with my dog whilst on a walk down the cuckoo line, I’ve been meaning to for ages and wish I had sooner - what a lovely atmosphere, a warm welcome and friendly locals - the vegetarian roast was amazing - one of the best I’ve had and there were loads of other options on the menu that tempted me, I will definitely be back

Yet another fantastic meal at the run tin tun Beef and red wine pie veg and chips soooooo delicious as always , never ever been disappointed with any of there food , great food great service and great atmosphere, what more do you want , and great value for money .

Disappointing visit today. We've eaten here several times in the past and really enjoyed the food. Unfortunately today the wait was extremely long, and the kids were not impressed when we were told they had run out of chicken nuggets! The young lady who served us though was very polite and friendly.

Visited this pub after seeing a Facebook post that they serve Sunday roasts in the evening (sadly rare) and that the veggie roast was good - well we certainly weren't disappointed! One of the best veggie roasts I've had, good service, ample portions (so much so that I didn't have room to try one of their delicious sounding deserts!) and a lovely pub. Highly recommended. We will be back to try some of the other meals on the menu 🙂

Asked if they were doing food, was told yes. Went and sat down for 10 minutes to decide what to have. Returned to the bar to be told the kitchen closed 5 minutes ago, no warning given when we were given the menus. Refused to open the kitchen when asked. Ridiculous

Perfect for a couple of drinks in the sun on holiday. We will not come for food as they seemed to struggle to fit 7 adults and 4 children in (I appreciate this is a feat) but good for couples or childless adults!

Lovely looking pub, however when our group arrived we were basically refused food because they didn't want to carry it out to the garden. The bar man was very rude and unhelpful. I would not recommend this as a pop in for food pub. Maybe the food was nice? We'll never know now. 👎

The food was excellent and the beers could not be faulted altogether a very pleasant meal for a reasonable price!

Okay Covid has made life difficult but being served by a miserable staff member does not really make one feel welcome. The beer was fine.

Last night I went into the pub on my own, this is very difficult for me. England playing and with the results that could have gone either way. And yet Nath and his fabulous team are always ready to deal with any situation. Drinks and food was brought within a quick time

The worst experience we have had. Staff are, and we're very rude indeed. Even when we went inside we were looked at like we were not welcome. Very bizarre experience amd will definitely not be back.
