The best restaurants in Vale of White Horse South East

Great spot for a date or a night out with friends! Can dress up or down for a night out here. It’s wildly clean, I have worked in 7-8 pubs and I was very impressed on how clean it was. I enjoyed the drinks. Especially with the 2 for $12 deal! The staff was very kind and attentive and I will 10000% be returning!!

So though we would give it a try we’ll couldn’t have been more wrong to go their food is cold and seems microwaved.. the staff were extremely rude my plate was thrown on the table decor is really dated toilet were disgusting skid marks in the pan the staff all had attitudes especially the land lady we will never go back the place needs shutting down or new owners who actually want to work and serve customers so disappointing

I return to this place whenever I can get back to UK since it is the village my grandmother was born in. Once again, it did not disappoint. I was very HAPPY with it again. On that day, the new owner had its first clients at the B&B: Me and my client on my private tour of England. The new owner is was a detective/police officer. He brings his family to assist in the operations. We had breakfast in the conservatory. We both had full English breakfasts. Check out the We had two rooms: 3 and 4. The rooms are very clean. The bathrooms were flawlessly clean and in great working order. This is a quiet place. Only nearby wood pigeons may bother you cooing.

One of the worst takeaways I’ve experienced, food was nothing like the descriptions and stale tasting, we called up and whoever picked up laughed down the phone when we explained about the food no apologies and essentially trying to gaslight us into believing the food was supposed to be like that and talking over us awful food and service would not recommend.

Got recommended by a friend to visit this cafe and I was pleasantly surprised . Came here for a family lunch to celebrate my brothers birthday with a table of 5 . The staff were very friendly making us fell nice and welcomed . The food was lovely , everything arrived very promptly. Highly recommend taking home a cinnamon bun with you ! There absolutely delicious 😀

We popped in for Sunday breakfast. The staff were very friendly and great service, there is an excellent variety on their menu, and the delicious desserts!!

Good environment with nice garden seating

El servicio de almuerzo fue excelente y la comida era genial. Tenía una hamburguesa que era muy agradable pero más grande de lo que pensaba. El día era agradable, así que terminamos quedándonos a tomar unas copas afuera. El pub estaba muy limpio y bien presentado.

Highly recommend the Black Horse for a super friendly, warm inviting and enjoyable meal. That's for starters ... the main is the superb food. I had a freshly prepared chicken pie, perfectly prepared, plenty of extra gravy. You can tell Ian is an experienced and talented chef. A month before we had a Sunday roast here too which was superb, absolutely cleaned our plates. Ian and Jackie are superb hosts and have brought to life a pub in the heart of the village. Looking forward to more times spent in the coming weeks and months. Thank you both, you deserve every five star review.

We went to the Bowyer Arms for Sunday lunch with friends (4 adults 4 children). Sadly the food was terrible, luke-warm and lack-lustre. Very disappointing and would highly not recommend eating here. Fine for drinks only.

Bostin Christmas lunch we had our lovely girls from the swimming pool outing today the food was all cooked fresh Donna a incredible cook everybody enjoyed there meal and the staff were fantastic fully recommend this. Place for a good roast.

Second time visiting for Sunday Lunch, sat in the garden which is a real hidden gem. Food was good, very traditional which is exactly what we wanted on a lazy Sunday. We both had roasts I had beef which was nice and pink and herself had pork. Service was pleasant and the staff where friendly and efficient. The only downside was it seemed very quite. Which was great from our point of view. I am sure considering how lovely the garden is it will be a lot busier come the summer.

Amazing little Riverside pub. Overlooks a very nice part of the Thames, and I believe the pub is hundreds of years old, so it adds to the aesthetic. Great place!
