A much underrated but much appreciated establishment, serving excellent food and ale at unbelievably reasonable prices - the offers are splendid and not to be missed. The staff offer a degree of welcome and service that is unusual to find these days. Do not be put off by the ‘oasis’ of a mostly empty new retail/office development over the road - the Seacourt Bridge arcs back to a more relaxed and quality time.

Came into the Seacourt recently with some family for an evening meal. As soon as through the door, we was welcomed by the manager, Katy behind the bar. Even though we hadn't booked we was able to find a table and sat straight away, the variety of food and drinks choices is perfect, meaning something for everyone. After deciding and headed up to the bar to put our order in, our order was taken officently and precise. Our food was lovely, couldn't have asked for it to be any better, with that we couldn't stop ourselves from order desert, which was just as lovely. I couldn't recommend this place enough, lovely atmosphere, great food and drinks, and a wonderful team of staff. Will definitely be coming back.

From Start to finish this place exceeded my expectations. I've heard a lot about pubs that are local community pubs and felt like I was going to be an outsider having not frequented the place before. I couldnt have been more wrong. Astounding greeting. Friendly smile. The barman Keith made me feel right at home and you couldn't ask for more than that. We ordered drinks before we sat down and Keith offered to bring over the Guinness as it needed to settle, I've been in pubs before that have simply made me wait for it, so felt that just had that extra special touch to our visit. We ordered food and I have to say the Fish was absolutely gorgeous just the right amount of batter ratio. Chips were so tasty. If it hadn't been for the fact that I had a craving for garlic bread I probably would have had a dessert, however now I have to come back to be able to try out the excellent selection of desserts on offer. The Seacourt Bridge has that home feel, whether it be enjoying a nice drink and meal or watching the football. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Staff are friendly and the chef is obviously very good at their job. The manager should be very proud of them. I may even come back on another Thursday and play Bingo. Excellent all round

A local pub for local people, this might be an option if you are a regular and want to watch sports with your mates, but popping in for a drink at the end of a bike ride we found the bar smelled, the garden a bit run down and the beer poorly kept to the point my friend gave up on his Hobgoblin and even my Neck Oil tasted off. A lovely place, but I must report on a so-called 'drag queen' who performed for what I believe is known as 'gay pride weekend'. I visited with my aging great-aunt Ethel, after a day spent walking round Farmoor reservoir and visiting local churches. In need of refreshment (she is 89) we popped in, early doors. Ethel was delighted with her food and drink, but grew increasingly concerned when 'Hazel Nuts' turned up - a man, clearly, but dressed like Eddie Izard. To my amazement, this genteel pub descended into scenes worthy of the Emperor Caligula. I felt it was important to stay, in the interests of research, and we bravely witnessed 'dry-humping' and many other sights. I popped to the bar and saw Ethel cavorting like Divine with numerous locals. Although this was Oxford - home to a veritable University - I felt it was more like Hamburg or Rio! I fully intend to repeat the experience, but Ethel remains in a state of shock.

Pub is only good for drinks We went for an evening meal, the pub was full of locals (which is fine) but they acted like they owned the pub and we did not feel welcome at all. The food was awful, lasagne was luke warm, and the salad had a horrible dressing on it. Chips tasted like the oil they’d been fried in hadn’t been changed since the early 2000s. The bar staff couldn’t even be bothered to fry Mayo when we politely asked for some. The staff were also not sure how to put food through the till which made the process quite long and slow. We were also unaware there was a band performing that night and they didn’t tell us, we were sat right next to the band which just made everything worse, but if you like live music you’ll enjoy it. The drinks were well priced for their size

This is not a wheelchair accessible pub but if you have some level of mobility you will be able to use it. This is a local pub with locals in it. You can get through the level access doors and there you will have a friendly, local double sided pub with some level of dog friendlness. There is quiet music playing. The tables shroud the bar so in its easy to order from almost anywhere. There are also some offshoot booths for more privacy but these won't be Wheelchair accessible. There is no wheelchair accessible toilet here. I used the ladies toilet with a Q200R powerchair and my chair is a wider size than the market type. However, my frame got through the first door to the ladies even with a gentleman sitting on the corner. It then took some skills to get round the corner (with smaller door) to the actual ladies loo. Once inside you will have to dismount from outside using the helping bars if you're not mobile. So you will have to leave your chair outside the internal loo entrance. It's pretty safe because they would have to get through three doors before getting outside the pub! Better still, take a friend and they can also enjoy it! A person with a walker or with some level of ambulance will be able to use this pub easily. See photos for general loo set up.

It's a pity I need to write this having always had admiration for the licencee - she held the place together through the pandemic and is entrepreneurial with events to attract the locals. Although I live locally I confess to not being a regular customer although I do direct a fair number of people to the Seacourt. In the last month or so I have had several enjoyable Sunday lunches there and did not notice that the main menu had changed since I last had a midweek meal. Possibly the take up of food over recent months made the former fairly extensive menu unprofitable? Whatever caused the change I have to say that the more limited choice of dishes is not going to attract more custom - certainly not mine! Even worse a week or so ago I took a group of friends for a midday meal and it was not an enjoyable experience. Being asked by the bartender if ladies wanted their drinks in a glass or the bottle is not a good start not was the error in the meal order. When the food did arrive whilst the scampi dishes were tolerable the "larger salad in place of chips etc" that accompanied both the lasagne and hunters chicken consisted of just a smallish portion of almost half dried up lettuce and just one small slice of tomato. Has the chef changed? I was somewhat embarrassed to have taken friends there having spoken well of the food and whilst I might venture in for Sunday lunch again unless I hear that the other meals have improved mid week will be out. What a pity.

Now back to its best, with excellent beer, staff and food. A rare pub where you can drink and chat, but also watch sport. A minor quibble: be careful of the 'members' tables', which get reserved by an officious customer who thinks she runs the place. Last week, I went in with my elderly grandmother (since deceased from hypothermia) and this berk barked at us to move, screeching: 'the whole area is reserved'. When I objected, I was told she was head underwear scraper, at the dubious-St Peter's College, so held emeritus status in being officious. Suitably chastised, I dragged my ailing grandmother outside, to sit shivering and gasping, in the pouring rain, Luckily the charming landlady put the weird upstart in her place and rescued us - but you have been warned!

Well where to start, pity that we cannot give less than 1star, our experience at this pub was ABSOLUTELY APPALLING, we would never step inside this pub again. We had booked a table for an evening meal on Sunday, upon arriving we were informed by the land lady that there only 2 roast dinners left, although we did not want a roast, that should have raised alarm bells as these were probably left over meals from lunch time already plated and ready to be rewarmed. We ordered 4 starters, after waiting 30mins, we asked at the bar where they were, the young girl behind the bar replied, "oh you are ready for your starters", 3 arrived luke warm, the 4th arrived with a main meal, when it was pointed out that this was a starter, she replied "I'll take the meal back and keep it warm". We should really have left at this point, however, after a further 30mins we asked the same young girl where our meals were, again with the reply "oh you are ready for your meals". When they arrived we were absolutly disgusted with the presentation, again they were all luke warm, but were all almost completely dried up, all of the meals had been plated for some considerable time and either left under hot lamps or in an oven, all of the meals were completely inedible. We approached the same young girl again, we expressed our disappoint and asked to speak to the landlady, we were informed that she had gone out but would be back later. It would appear that this young girl was left to run the pub and kitchen, it was not her fault that we vented our frustrations and disappointments on her, however she did apologise and removed all food from the bill, as we had not eaten the inedible meals. As there was no chef on duty, we've assumed that our meals were prepared and plated up probably by the landlady, and left somewhere to keep warm, and that as the landlady had left the pub with instructions for the young girl to tend to us and to serve us, but as she was busy she had over looked us. All in all an extremely poor advertisment for this pub. We had planned to stay for the evening have a few drinks and listen to the band, but not after this disaster. Including us, there were another couple eating, which made 6 in total, not exactly busy to prepare and cook 6 edible meals.
