Costa Coffee in Vale of White Horse

Considering the cost of coffee etc in this well know establishment, the chairs were minging & stained. We weren't even asked if we were staying in or taking away, drinks were served in take away cups ( we stayed in) next time will make my way to a local cafe and give them my trade...... disgusting place

Food is always good but coffee tastes burnt

Coffee was OK but they didn't tell me when ordering that it would be in a takeaway cup despite there being plenty of cups on the racks. If they'd told me before I paid I would have gone somewhere else. Floor was pretty gross too but the staff were friendly enough

Very nice coffee however the waiting time for the coffee is ridiculous 10 minutes in a qué as only one member of staff at the time but the coffee was worth the wait

Such a shame! This Costa is the dirtiest and most untidy of any Costa we’ve visited - and we’ve been to quite a lot! There are too few staff to clear tables or sweep the floor, the comfy chairs are stained, and the bins are overflowing, clearly visible through the windows, right next to where we sat. Not a pleasant experience.

A very stressed team which reflected in thier performance which was shocking! dirty untidy dining area. I was sharply told to wait at the counter while the assistant answered the phone and stood chatting. Had to wait for someone else to serve me and then had to wait again while the two other assistants chatted..... shocking dissapointing service!!

A very friendly coffee shop. Staff are attentive and polite. The store was clean and tidy. There had been a power cut and they kept anyone well informed. Downside there always seems to bins in one of the doorways.

This place is so dirty looking from the outside. I was put off entering the premises because if they were happy to stack all their rubbish in their doorway, then I question their hygiene standards. You don't put your rubbish in your doorway like this. Where is your pride?

Nice little costa, staff are friendly and its a nice place to sit overlooking the marketplace... coffee and cakes good too!

It's Costa - same as any other generic conglomerate that makes you coffee. It always annoys me about this particular location, that the trays/coffee cups/plates etc are always stacked so high in the corner, you can never clear the table properly. They are clearly under staffed here, and no-one ever seems to do anything about it...

Around 4pm was incredibly busy, no cake left and lots of school children but despite it being the only coffee shop open and only one barista to serve he handled it well and professionally. Will go again but early on in the day next time.

Quirky building layout adds character. Coffee good but as always not cheap. Dogs not invited in.

Great Costa, come here all the time, staff are very friendly and the remote ordering system works very well, coffee is always hot and prepared at a perfect balance between speed and quality. Lovely historic interior and comfy seats. Although it is a chain there is feel of indivduality created by the wonderful staff.

A lovely place to go and have a catch up and a coffe . They do a great selection of festive drink around Christmas time A good section of food and drinks

Coffee was luke warm & considering the price i think it was definatley not good value for money. I don't normally use Costa but there was no other place to sit down that had a table available.

During lockdown the staff in Costa Wantage have been brilliant- I am a bus driver and during this time very few places have allowed the use of toilet facilities for non customers. The staff here have never refused or insisted one buys a drink in order to use them. This makes me happy to buy a drink when maybe I wouldn’t have normally. Staff always friendly and helpful and even if you haven’t been there for several weeks, always remember your order! Full marks and well done!

Nice and friendly service as always but the place could do with a bit of redecorating to spruce it up just a tad. However, nothing wrong with the coffee 😃

Sadly this Costa Coffee in Wantage is in real need of a deep clean, tables are dirty, poor lighting and no choice.

Assistant was not wearing her mask correctly and it was under her chin, talking on the phone around the food area.

I go to Costa in Wantage market place several times a week for a Mocha for myself or with my family. The staff are extremely friendly, offer a great service especially through this challenging Covid period. The make an effort to remember your regular order and are a pleasure to deal with.

Absolutely filthy staff wore the same pair of gloves served numerous customers didn't clean hands. Every table was dirty covered in dirty used cups plates we were told to take a seat at a dirty table. When someone did clean the tables the went back to serving in same gloves. Milk stored n the floor out of fridge and staff stepping over it came on Costa disgusting!!

Cleared my own table before being able to enjoy my own coffee. Dish washer broken had to have our drinks in take away cups.

This place has gone down hill big time, 20 minute wait for a coffee

This Costa is badly in need of a refurb. The paint is peeling off in lots of places and the loos were dirty. Hopefully it will be scheduled soon as most Costas are reasonably smart. We had the filter coffee which was a bit tasteless and not very warm but as it only costs £1 I guess you get what you pay for!

First time visiting here and it’s a lot bigger than I thought. There was a steady stream of customers and quite a few of the tables had not been cleared but we found some available at the back I didn’t try it but you can also order online

Another boringly bland coffee shack, what can be said it’s a dispensary for caffeine. Overpriced and full of school mums telling the whole world how good eldest child is whilst ignoring the bawling from youngest.

Nice Costa right on the Market Square.

Right in the centre of town in the market square. Occupying a very old building which was once a department store there is character and seating on multiple levels. Good coffee served by friendly staff.

Nice member of staff served us and the place felt clean - compared to some Costas I have been in. nice choice of seating types.

Out of all the Costa shops I've been to, this far outweighs the rest. A lovely friendly atmosphere, staff are very polite and helpful and coffee is always spot on.Most Costa shops are pretty soulless, but this is an active busy shop and I love coming in here.

Only went in for coffee, the usual standard Costa. Above average because the staff were quick, so no queue, and friendly. Nice variety of seating, very clean. Handy for several buses - means on a day like today, torrential rain, you can sit inside until it arrives.

Nice and cosy for a warm up cup of coffee. The toilet is large enough for disabled customers. However the entrance doors need to be held open by other people to slow a wheelchair to enter or exit. No step though.

Visited a week ago and whilst coffee and service good, the tables were dirty and needed a good clean :-((

Possibly the worst cappuccino I have ever tasted ,no froth and red hot. Unfortunately not the first time in a Costa recently. More training required.
