The best restaurants in Tunbridge Wells South East

A very rare visit to this pub, is a pleasant experience. It’s not particularly local to me , or on route… but I know it’s there , and hopefully open- so it’s worth a visit. Friendly enough staff, friendly local patronage … and menu looks great, so will definitely check out the food again one day soon.

Had a Sunday family meal here and we were really impressed, lovely venue, plenty of parking and the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We all thought the food was first class. I would definitely book again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to friends.

I have just paid £19.20 for a pint of old mout a lie glass of pint and a packet of pork scratchings. Used to luke the Bedford but that's my last visit. Shocking.

As this is a mcdonalds the expectations arent high, but the workers are absolutely rude and complaining infront of everyone about the jobs in the drive thru, and we've been waiting about half an hour for our food. Shocking to be fair.

Large chips were more like small, salad was lettuce and onion, one wedge of tomato.

I wouldn't recommend this place at all. The food was bland and overpriced, with everything tasting overly processed. The chicken curry was watery, and the 'egg fried rice' was a joke—dry, flavourless, and like it came straight out of a microwave. The only decent part of the meal was the drink.

Sophie, Cindy and Charlie always take the time to get to know us as people. Sharing these kind moments elevates The Granary Restaurant's food service in Sissinghurst Castle's picturesque setting. Thank you! X

UPDATE: This is not Royal Spice anymore, we ordered take away from this place now called Spice Fusion and has nothing to do with Royal Spice standards, unfortunately we are not ordering from this place anymore. Absolutely delicious food! The chicken tikka balti is phenomenal with lots of fresh coriander. This is my go to in Tunbridge Wells when I want a curry.

Lovely couple who own the fish and chip shop, very chatty and friendly. The food was lovely, ordered 2 large cod, 1 large chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. The only slight downside was the batter on the fish was very oily but this could be made better by allowing the fish sit and drain for a bit, however this didn’t alter the flavour and the cod was moist and tasty. If we ever come and stay this way again we will sure to make a visit again.

The staff here were always lovely and friendly, but it is now permanently closed, and they are removing all the machinery today and have signs on the door. "This shop is now permanently closed. Apologies for any inconvenience"

Always very friendly staff. Very busy but always space Dog friendly environment too which is one of the main reasons we visit each week. This area is clearly marked and always full of dog friendly customers. Lots of parking which is the added incentive to visit! My only wish/gripe is not utilising the wall space to see products you can buy in the shop. Seems a very big missed and wasted opportunity. Have contacted notcutts with no response or reply to this.

In a nutshell: Food: The chicken was tasty with the mild sauce. Fries with piri-piri salt, also not bad -- honestly, better than KFC fries. Ketchup - really poor quality. Even Lidl & Aldi's house brand ketchup is way better. The rice is way over-spiced with chili. The side salad ... well ... it seems that Pepe's has never heard of such a thing as salad dressing. It's just bare lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. They have some 'garlic sauce' for the chicken that can double as salad dressing however We ate in which was okay. At least the place is relatively clean and has the feel of a somewhat acceptable fast food restaurant. All in all, reasonable compared to sit down restaurants. You can get a 1/4 chicken box for £7.69 currently. Add £2.50 for a meal (includes a soft drink and fries.) Did you know that Pepe's is a UK based chain? I didn't either. Now that you know you can try to visit all 192 locations and the two in Dubai.

This is a store restaurant. The location is good - airy and well-lit with a small terrace outside. My lunch of a drink and a wrap was good quality, well-filled and came quickly. Certainly nicer than a chain store coffee shop.
