Costa Coffee in Tunbridge Wells

Great service. Amaya and the rest of the team always go the extra mile and they make us feel welcome.

This is the most amazing Costa I have been to and I have been to quite a few in the tn and me areas The coffee shop is so so clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I live 24 miles away from this costa I have been here maybe 12 times B4 and I will definitely be coming back again from Lionel Fosher.

The team at Costa were great. Amaya is always very warm and welcoming and make me feel at home. Looking forward to my next visit.

A lovely(Spanish?)lady made me a great strawberry/cream frappe very carefully and my husband a cappuccino. Very charming,with a lovely smile.

We were visiting RTWells so popped into Costa, late in the day. Some of tables had already been cleaned and there were on top of tables, not an issue as plenty of other tables, but if staff can clean here why not the toilets. Staff member very friendly, polite, service was quick, no wait and I could understand the staff member as she spoke English ! Drinks to a good standard. First impressions of counter area were good. Sat in window seat, on low table with more comfortable chairs, I then noticed how dirty the fabric on these seats were on the arm rests, ingrained dirt was shocking. I’m well aware of the footfall in such establishments but these needed cleaning or disposing of. Other areas need attention re decor etc. I visited the toilet which if I had visited before my drink, I would have left. It was shocking. I don’t envy the staff who have to clean these areas and the design should be such they could hose / mop which then goes into a plug hole on floor maybe but this was awful. I think many costas are tired these days and I will make more of an effort to go to an independent place.

Absolutely dreadful. The outside of the building is filthy. Windows filthy, died poo all over window sills. Entered the property and two women were serving in slow motion. This gave time to look around. What a shambles. Everywhere it was filthy. Whilst waiting to served, my husband went off to use the toilets. He came marching out and said to me they were the worst toilets he had ever been and he said the place is filthy and we were leaving. He was so right! Going to Costa years ago was lovely. Not now. There dirty and soul less .

The most fab experience here, I got served by the most friendly waitress I have ever encountered who really took the time to help me with my order, her name was nia and she greatly improved my customer experience. Thank you :)

The latte was amazing as always the service was slow but this could have been because someone I think was being trained

The staff always smiles and makes the best coffee drinks. I love the portions of coffee for the price.

Service was good and the staff were lovely, they place was clean and tidy. The toilets were very clean.

Popped in today for hot chocolates and a toastie to take away. The hot chocolate we had was the best one we had had from you guys for a while. 10 out of 10 thank you. Was served very quickly also considering it was quite busy!

Poor service, the coffee machine was very dirty and the coffee was luke warm. Not a good experience.

Absolute appalling. Went to get a drink as it was a hot day with my girlfriend and was disgusted by the service. My drink took ages to be made and when it finally came I picked it up a a staff member violently snatched it out of my hand my girlfriends drink had came about 20 minutes prior to this. MY drink was then gives to a man. What happened to feminism?!? I then had to re order my drink and when it finally arrived it was incomplete and lacked a lemon. My girlfriend also complained that her drink had too much whip and not enough neigh neigh. Will not be returning would not recommend at all.

The coffe was good and the toast only white available. Toast was cold but edible. We sat by the window. There seems to be a lot of dry rot by the windows. The building needs looking at. No doubt. Costa lease this

Staff are so rude, a brown hair, slim young women served me. She had the audacity to roll her eyes and tut when I asked for a coffee. It’s obvious she doesn’t want to be there, but come on pull your finger out or give the job to someone who gives a damn.

Service was very slow. Large queue. Costa's coffee is the best in the UK - Why oh why are Costa's toilets never clean? You're serving food !!!!!!

Very very busy takes ages to get your order and almost every table that has free seats has empty cups, plates and trays full of rubbish on. Could really do with a member of staff just to go around keeping the tables clear and clean and floors swept etc.

Always helpful and quick in the mornings

Visited St John's Costa this afternoon. Just wanted a couple of small lattes after a long walk for me and a friend. I went in while my friend waited outside as we are conscious of social distancing and there were 3 other people in there. After a few minutes I was asked to go and wait outside as there wasn't a free "spot" for me to stand on. Again, I really didn't mind this because obviously different places have different rules to keep us safe. I got back into the premises after two or three minutes and stood patiently. Once inside I waited and waited to place my order with 2 people infront of me and 1 or 2 behind. There were 2 servers behind the counter who both appeared to be very busy. After around 5 minutes of not being served I realised that while both servers were very busy, they were in fact making up Deliveroo orders and completely ignoring the people in the store. After another few minutes I left without ordering. While I understand that there may be time restrictions on Deliveroo orders, surely with two servers, one could have done Deliveroo while one served people in store.Very disappointed, will stick with Nero down the bottom of town from now on.

Visited recently and was pleasantly surprised by the new lovely light decor.Cappuccino great and Blueberry muffins amazing. Will be returning.

There's not consistency in the coffee they serve, I visit this granch nearly every day and depending on who is making the coffee I have a good one or a bad one. I always have a latte at times it comes with half a cup of froth milk (?) also a member of the team is quite rude and don't seem to listen to clients needs.

I had café late they heated milk up to many time very poor taste cherry almond bake was dry why a big company like costa do not cover the cakes ??I thought about sending it back but I just thought I am only going to get same rubbish again its 2nd 3rd time now poor coffee poor food will not go back they need a new manager to sort the place out st johns costa is 10 x better best costa in town

Visited today. It's a Costa and food and drinks were as expected. Tables were cleaned swiftly and it's was a good visit.

Its a real shame these guys don;t pay any fair amount of tax or the coffee would'nt taste as if i was being cheated by greed.

Was very disappointed and it’s the first time I have to say I didn’t enjoy costa. I had watermelon and coconut cooler and the Mrs had Mango and passion fruit cooler. As soon as I was handed the cooler I tried a little bit and the rest was just slush. I had to wait for it to melt before being able to drink. Was very disappointed with it. The Mrs enjoyed her Mango and passion fruit cooler and it was much better that mine that is why the 2* rating. The place overall looks like it needs to be kept tidier. Am a fan of Costa and I guess it was just down to the one silly drink I ordered. I would still visit Costa but definitely be wiser with the choice of drink I guess.

Cappuccino was good but the hot chocolate was definitely not hot. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location.

I come here every week. The staff are lovely and all that they serve is lovely to. It’s also a great atmosphere.

Would have had a better score if the air conditioning was not on at full blast even though the weather is far from warm. Needed a coat or warm jacket to sit inside, really really cold! Even the coffee didn't stay warm for long. Otherwise the food choices were reasonable, ditto the coffee. Try sitting outside...it will probably be warmer!

Venue had a welcoming cosy atmosphere, with great coffee and snacks - small choice of gluten free options available.

Costa coffee shop is located very close to the main shopping center which makes it an ideal place to have a drink, and a snack before going to the shops. It is a couter service, but staff are quick and efficient.

Seating inside is a bit limited compared to some costa's we have been in but there are a few seats outside if the weathers ok. They have another one in the shopping mall if you can't get a seat here. All that said the coffee was lovely and hot and the staff were really nice....a great..if smaller ...costa

A normal Costa coffee shop but there are seats outside in the newly renovated area of Five roads in Tunbridge Wells. On a warm day you can sit outside and watch the world go by next to the rather strange looking tower clock.

Nothing to say apart from move on. We stopped off for a coffee, service was poor, staff rude, coffee cold and the cups were dirty. We will not be returning. With so much competition in the area you would think they would make an effort.

I visit here often and always get a good coffee, usually a flat white. Staff are friendly and service very quick. Some of the seating could do with a clean though, or replacing!

I only drink cafe latte and the one from Costa's is the best. I only get annoyed when I buy take away coffee and the staff always cover my cup with plastic lid where I still have to put sugar in so I don't see the point. I have asked the girl why she is insisting on putting the lid, she replied that it is for safety reasons. I said ok but still it's pointless to put that lid on where literally behind me is the table with sugar and I am not clumsy person that will spill coffee on the floor. In fact sometimes the staff are filling up the cup up to the rim so I have to tell them not to do that because then it spills.

A straight Americano was just about OK; a bit acidic tasting. Staff run ragged and place a bit down at heel. A positive is the outside tables, but they weren't being cleared and looked a mess

If you've been to one Costa you've been to them all. And that is what's reassuring about them, you know what you like, you know how you like it and you know you can get it on every street corner. You don't have to try anything new, you don't get something you don't want.

Popped in for a coffee today and sat outside. Was ok once outside didn't feel part of the place at all. Coffee was nice

For something that should have been so easy was just too complicated. Carrot cake ...stale ...tea ok but trying to get a bottle of water was just about impossible...staff didn't seem to understand what we were asking for.

We usually pop on here while we are in town, the staff are friendly, service is quick and it's nice to sit outside if it's warm enough. Nothing to set it apart from other coffee shops in town.

Called here today on our first visit to Tunbridge Wells. Exterior impression poor with paint pealing on window sills and black rubber mat seen better days. Seating tired. Flooring covered with various bits of food debris and what looked like a milk spillage. Normally we order coffee at our local Costa but here we had pots of tea. After a reasonable mashing time poured out. The colour was blonde and the tea weak even after further mashing.

when we went into this costa, we were surprised how small it was. We wandered round the tables trying to find somewhere to sit. Eventually we pulled some seats from another table (4 in total) and shared a table designed for 2 people. Usual costa good tasting coffee!!!!

Clustered with dirty cutlery on tables. Staff not very friendly. Would look better if they remove one or two tables

Popped in for a coffee today, really nice. Friendly staff, quick service. The tables as commented on another post could have been done with a wipe but was peak lunch time and they were very busy. All good!

Nothing in particular stands out as noteworthy here but you can be sure of getting a hot drink served how you like it and some good snacks/sandwiches as well.

In the center of Tunbridge wells, and very close to Royal Victoria shopping center. I had a very good cup of coffee there sitting outside on the tables, and chairs provided French style.

I have visted loads of times, usually due to the rain haha. but as far as Costas go this is one of the more spacious ones, with views overlooking the new plaza, millenium clock and the hub of the town, the staff are really nice and skilled as using a Barista machine is not easy if your used to the normal easy ones at home. I was dissapointed to hear that Costa doesnt pay staff overtime? So im suprised the staff manage to pull of a smile.

I go in here most days and it does not let you down. Can get busy which does mean you do have to hunt around for a table. I've had no problems with service just a normal average Costa. Nothing special, nothing fancy. Drinks they do are very nice.

Ususal Costa fare, expensive sandwiches but probably my favourite coffee of all the chains. Wish they did a brewed filter coffee option for fast service with its own queue.

Cannot believe that this branch of Costa is still open and has not been closed down by health and safety. Condensation dripping down the windows in the winter and flys buzzing on and around the cake in the summer..floors filthy and smells of gone off milk yuk.

As in all branches of Costa Coffee, the food and drinks are of a very good standard. However, this branch has remained for several years without a refurbishemnt. Personally, I would recommend the Costa Coffee on the top floor of the nearby Royal Victoria Place shopping centre as it seems better maintained and more relaxing.

Located in the middle of Tunbridge wells near the Royal Victoria shopping center, and all other restaurants. It has a relaxing atmosphere inside with a very polite staff and management.

this was quickest costa ive ever been to, que was long, but served quickly. Nice seating and looked clean unlike so may branded coffee houses.

food was very good, only to be let down by very expensive wine, small portions and staff who seemed to be robots not wanting to talk to you. Mabey they only hire mutes???

The staff are great. Didn't have to wait to long, which is a real problem at o the Pembury Hospital one. This one needs a brighter, tidier interior.
