Not a great experience, food very basic and disappointingly small menu with items not available. Scallops had to be the smallest I have ever been served, chips dry, and over cooked/reheated, lamb dish edible but certainly not a dish to return for - general presentation of the food completely lacking in any culinary artistry or passion for serving good food. Service was ok hit and miss depending who served us. Overall an underwhelming dining experience at The Hare. Certainly won’t be rushing back even with our meal tickets!

We were served by Ed and he provided excellent above and beyond service. It was my mum's birthday and as a gluten free allergy we were super impressed with the many gluten free options on the menu, nearly 75% of the menu she could eat! The service was great, they even brought out a candle with ice cream for dessert for her - she felt so special after a bit of a rubbish couple of days with a loved one being in hospital so your kindness and lightness was really appreciated - a small gesture which really meant a lot! Thank you Ed and team!

This place has a very pleasant ambience with tables spaced nicely and a traditional and classic feel. The dessert was really nice, but main course of roast beef was average. Yorkshire puddings had no substance and roast potatoes rather hard. I checked that there was no garlic in the gravy, and unfortunately there was. So I asked politely if it would be possible to have a little gravy without the garlic. No, not possible. I do find it frustrating that so many places now think garlic should be included in things where it really isn’t needed. It simply doesn’t agree with everyone. Or at least make up a jug for those who can’t take it, without the garlic.

Visited for late Sunday lunch. The food was nice but they had run out of Yorkshire and Mac and cheese. They offered us more roasties but we already had plenty of these. It doesn't take a few minutes to bash out a batter for Yorkshire so I don't understand why they couldn't provide these. So we ended up short of two of the elements of our lunch but no reduction in price. We paid for the full lunch but only got part of it which in hindsight does not seem right. As a final comment, the service was quite slow.

On this occasion I very disappointed with both my starter and main course In my opinion the food was not prepared to order Starters was Crispy Squid, 6 small pieces, batter soft and dark brown not battered and fried fresh. Main course Hake again the same certainly not pan fried to order. I will say this for myself is a one off as I have been using the hare for many years, and certainly Hopei its a one off

Good range of choices on the menu - which is updated online daily. The service was efficient and the food very good. For those not drinking alcohol there is a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Not the Hare's fault but he only negative was there were some diners on a couple of tables nearby who I can only assume work in a high decibel environment and "spoke" very loudly.

Went for lunch today but a rather uptight blond waitress was quite rude about us finding a table for 5 inside or outside. We've eaten here before and loved it but this lady in her orange/yellow dress was so rude that I don't think we'll ever go back just because of her shirty attitude. We asked for a table for 5 outside and she said she didn't have one. I then asked if she had one inside and maybe when an outside table becomes available we could move as we have two young kids (4 and 5). She then said "no, I have nothing for 5, only for 2!" I said okay thank you and we left...as we left she spoken under her breath: "as I told you!" - this behaviour is rude and completely uncalled for, she clearly thinks she owns the place but she rather needs a talking too and teaching about how to be a polite human and waitress!!!

Haven't been to this pub in a number of years but thought the food had definitely gone downhill a bit. I ordered the poached salmon salad which, according to the menu, came with tenderstem broccoli and asparagus. When it came out, I had standard broccoli, green beans and sugar snap peas and the latter two looked a little on the brown side. I also had a side portion of chips, which tasted like oven chips from the supermarket. Friends had burgers, a pie and the moussaka, all of which looked ok. However, my friend with the steak and ale pie found quite a substantial piece of bone in it! The kitchen agreed to take £3 off the bill....how generous. The sticky toffee pudding was nice, especially given it was gluten free. Service was good, if a little slow. It's a nice pub, but it could do a lot better with the presentation and food quality.

We visited on Valentine’s Day. My partner ordered a chicken burger which apparently came with pancetta. His burger came with the tiniest bit of bacon I could ever see (it’s embarrassing that they even served it) , a tea spoon of coleslaw and an extremely small portion of fries. Considering their prices have gone up and that meal was nearly £20 I would expect a much bigger portion. Very disappointed. It’s definitely gone down hill which is a shame.

We've just had a Boxing day dinner here and we chose the 2 courses for £42.95. The pork main and the apple tart was very nice but my goodness the portions were small. 1 roll of pork, small piece of crackling, 1 carrot, 1 ball of potato, some kale and 1/2 a teaspoon of apple puree. Apple tart was with ice cream in a nice caramel/toffee sauce, but again really small. I was initially worried about being able to eat 2 courses as I usually only eat a main, but I've actually come away wanting more to eat.

Nicely located at the crossroads in Langton Green. However this does make parking a bit messy for those who don't know the area. Official pub parking spaces are limited so it's first come, first served. Always reliable for its food, especially the main meals. Some lunch menu items such as sandwiches are generally less good, if I'm honest. The biggest negative though is the price of drinks. This pub is one of the most expensive in the area, unfortunately. Overall though other factors win through, such as Becca the manager, hence my 5 stars.

It’s a friendly place, we have been coming here for over 25 years. Recently they have refreshed the decor, with old adverts and period pictures. The food is good solid pub food. I had the steak and ale pie, others had the Thai curry and the beef salad. The warm bread starter was delicious. The fact that dining is in a series of small rooms adds to the attraction. They have a range of cask beers, a must for any pub.

I wandered into the Beau Nash during a circular walk around Tunbridge Wells early Wednesday afternoon. There were a few other punters in and the food looked good. I didn't want a full lunch so opted for a plate of chips which were very well cooked and, unlike in other TW pubs where you can price up individual chips, the portion size was pretty generous. Harveys Best was on, but I opted for the Gun Scaramanga on handpull - which was excellent. I believe the new manager is having a guest beer on regularly alongside Harveys which is great news (other pubs in TW not supporting local breweries take note!). Customer service was also excellent, Phoebe was great with all those who came in for food or drink; polite, friendly and efficient. All in all a very enjoyable place to visit for drinks and/or food. I will be back soon.
