Atmosphere and staff were both good but whoever put together the recipe for their burger has got the weirdest concept of what works in terms of flavour I have ever come across. The overall flavour had you wonder if the meat was not quite right. But I don't think this was the case just too many flavours from the pickled red onions and their special sauce that really don't work. Very disappointed considering it was £33 for two burgers with fries.

We went to an English pub for the first time during our family holiday. We loved it! First we played a game of Scrabble and then enjoyed the delicious shepherd's pie and ribs.

Four of us ate lunch here, food and service was good, if we're in the area again we'll return.

A nice olde worlde pub. Like the rest of The Pantiles. Mainly a mature crowd and not overbearing. Clean toilet's, although upstairs the is a wheelchair accessible amenity diwnstairs. Beers ok and staff pleasant.

Good Fuller's pub serving. Range of Fuller's ales and other brands. Had the best fish and chips here that I have had in a long time. Miles better than the fishy and chip shop.

Lovely spot, we went for roast dinner as a group - those who didn't order the roast fared reasonably well, but the roast dinners (beef and turkey both tried) were simply awful. The beef was particularly bad, overcooked, dried up and very, very chewy - and at nearly £19, not cheap. A real shame.

Quick bite to eat for a late lunch. Food was lovely, service quick and we managed to waste two hours playing a game we found and laughing our heads off. Will defo go back. Reasonable priced food and good choice. Very relaxing atmosphere.

Nice chairs but overpriced booze

Really amazing place. The staff are so lovely and willing to help in any way they can. I came here with my father, who isn't very mobile, and everything was super easy. There is an accessible WC there too.

I only popped in for a drink with some friends after a meeting. We had a quiet corner and had a lovely chat. Staff were polite and helpful so I'd definitely head back again.

Beer to expensive, considering you can to nearby pubs just as good with the same beer and it's cheaper. Young staff also couldn't deal with 3 drunk aggressive blokes. Perhaps door staff required on weekends.

Chilly out, first date, snuggled up by the fire - it’s ideal. Lovely setting tucked away in the Pantiles so we started here with a 🍷 Old school place, timbers, fires 🔥 x 3 ~ enjoy before moving on to the Ragged Trousers & The Wine Room as we did. Finally headed to Steak which was fab .. see my review 👍

Cozy place with a real fire and big beer selection.

Went this evening with a family with twins and the staff went out of their way to make us welcome. I had the chefs special of pie,mash and greens. Very nice. A good selection of ales. My favourite was the London pride. And excellent beer, perfect temperature.

Nice pub. Liked dogs which was a bonus. Ridiculously expensive drinks and ladies toilet were absolutely filthy.

3 gin and tonic’s and a vodka coke was nearly £50. I questioned this and the lady rolled her eyes and said this was the pantiles. I don’t recommend unless you like being patronised and spoken down to.

Asked for 4 single gin and tonics and the bill came to £44. I questioned this and the bar lady said you're in the pantiles. Then half way through our drinks we had to pour all our drinks into plastic cups. I've used this pub for many years but the current staff were very rude to me and my friends tonight. We wont be going back!

Decent food and reasonable service except for them refusing to serve my partner a glass of milk because "they couldn't ring it up on the till" which seems silly when I ordered over £50 of food and drink.

Was charged 59.36 for a £52.90 drinks and meal. My fault for not checking card reader. Also when checked bank statement this did not show as pending . We went on a Friday and the amount came out on Sunday, so no pre warning we had been overcharged. We also gave barman £5 tip. There were only two of us and so the optional 12.5% service charge did not apply. We were not asked if we would like to have it added. Will not be visiting again and now less trusting.

This is the second time we have visited this pub. We ate on Friday and food was ok. We asked for the bill which came out at 52.90. The barman brought out card reader and I trustingly thought that it would be for that amount. My husband gave him a £5 tip for which he was grateful. When I checked my santandar account the amount I paid was not showing as pending. It was not until Sunday that the money was taken. This was for £59.32. My fault for not checking card reader before going ahead. On the bottom of our receipt it had that an optional 12.5% service charge is added to tables of 8 guests of more. There were just two of us. Our visit now ended up £11 more. He was quite happy to accept our £5. My fault for trusting these people. We will not go back and probably not only check reader but pay by cash. Much safer. Like to hear what the Manager has to say about this. Probably won't though.

Went with my mate for a quick drink, the interior was nice and the staff was very friendly. The Duke of York is a good place to go if you want a relaxing drink with some friends.

A friend and I decided to meet and eat here this evening. The range of beers looked good, I was driving so did not indulge.We decided to eat and both chose the chicken and ham pie with chips.I want to be positive as it tasted nice but it was served on cold plates, the pie and chips were warm, the Savoy cabbage was warm to cold. They weren’t busy and I am said that a meal (two meals) could not be served on hot plates and the food be arm to hot.

Located on the historic Pantiles this is a really nice traditional pub with a good range of Fullers cask ales on the bar. There are about 8 or 9 outdoor tabled on the street for the fine weather plus indoor seating over two floors. Staff are friendly and the place has a pleasant and cosy atmosphere. We didn't eat but the food we saw being served looked pretty good.

Usually a great venue, but pretty hopeless last Friday: all three vegetarian options weren't available and the acoustics of the pub meant we were deafened by the (not especially raucous) next table.

Being on the Pantiles it is a nice location and sitting outside to soak up the atmosphere is best. Service was good and beer choice also quite good.

For me it was brilliant. Lovely well kept pub in the middle of Tunbridge Wells which is also beautiful.

Stopped here after a lovely dog walk in the local forest. The staff at the duke of York are Very polite and helpful. As well as dog friendly. Tunbridge Wells is such a beautiful area and this pub is at the centre of the older part of town. This isn’t our first rodeo of the roast here. However each time it gets better and better. An amazing atmosphere and location! I would recommend the perfect roast for all!

The food has really gone downhill here. Used to have great fish and chips, now weak. Not even tartar sauce. The church ldrebs roast was the so thick and chewy my son almost chocked on it. Beer still good but price for the food is not worth it.
