The best restaurants in The Vale of Glamorgan South East

Rude staff, more training in customer care is required. Ordered 2 teas and cake, server took the money ,put tray on side, got cakes, I was chatting to a fellow passenger ... then I picked up tray, took to table to find teapots empty. Went back to counter,where i explained i was too eager,the waitress queried " they wernt to go then?" To which I said no and she then proceeded to pour the premade tea from the papercups to the teapots to which me and another customer said " please don't do that as they will have a tang to it" . The waitress " Goldie",rudely responded " well you took the tray away"! and started slamming my tea about! So rude! Training opportunity here Costa..... the 5 customers around me were all in disbelief at her behaviour! Stomping around like a child.

Waited almost 45 minutes for my "fast food", Honestly mcdonalds how can you let a restaurant be like the one in barry..... food always takes way too long. When you receive it the staff member looks and sounds like they want off the planet, then when eating it, It resembles eating a board of MDF from B&Q. Charging silly money for food on par if not worse than a £1.39 rustlers burger...

Mesas sucias, personal que puso los ojos en blanco cuando le pedí un recibo ya que la máquina de autoservicio no estaba funcionando! Luego, cuando llegó el pedido, papas fritas, sin sal n ellos. ¡El nieto pidió pepitas y le dieron dedos de pescado! ¡Tenía el McRib, sin cebolla, sin salsa y sin encurtidos así que un rollito seco con carne seca! No volverá 😡

After a busy and exilerating experience exploring the waterfall and surrounding paths we treated ourselves to a cuppa and some fresh Homemade Cake. Absolutely gorgeous

Food was ok but the portion sizes are tiny Fish portion was extremely small Chip portion tiny Mushy pea pot tiny At over £8:00 completely felt robbed Did not complain but will avoid when next in barry

We were served by kaitlynne who was an absolute pleasure! Her customer service skills were outstanding and she was very helpful. Our drinks were made to perfection and exactly how we ordered them. Don’t get this often

wow, stunning pizza best pizza I jave had for a long time. The flavour was amazing and fresh. give this place a go you won't be disappointed 5star service

I think this was expensive for what you get. The noodles weren’t amazing, and paid an extra few pounds to have chicken added - they only added 3 tiny cubes of dry chicken to the top which seems really stingey given the cost

Bar del hotel Moderno no muchos asientos y bebidas caras, pero lo que cabe esperar de un hotel cerca de un aeropuerto. Todo el personal extranjero. Este tipo de sitios no hacer nada por la zona y ni siquiera dan trabajo gente local.

Lovely for what I paid £17 for a chicken sheish 2x carrot cakes a sausage and chips one of the best in Barry if not the best in Barry…

Most disappointing Sunday dinner ever. The vegetarian option that was supposed to be a Pearl Barley and nut crochette was a sloppy tasteless pile of unseasoned pearl barely with about 1 nut. This was served with 3 tiny roast potatoes and root vegetables that were mostly onions. No other veg unless you want to pay £4 extra. I paid £4 extra for cauliflower cheese that was curdled. £18 quid and I left hungry. Even ordering drinks was poor, the batmaid couldn't find the till button for a half pint, so suggested we'll have to have and pay for a pint instead! From beginning to end we were only half an hour as the atmosphere was so lacking, we ate our meal and left straight away. Passing three staff on the way out, not a single acknowledgement. Won't be back.

Visited on an empty weekday afternoon and wouldn’t serve me because I had my 12 year old son with me. Dogs are allowed but kids aren’t? Says it all No wonder Witherspoons around the corner is packed and this place is empty

Surely one of the best locations in Wales. Pity the service and fare didn't match it. Went there on a beautiful, crisp October day and sat outside. We had to move from our first table because of an overflowing drain under the adjacent table. The stench was appalling. Ordered our food - 1 bagel, 2 paninis (which turned out to be bread rolls) plus 2 drinks for more than £44. Not cheap. The two drinks were served separately and only after we reminded the staff we were still a drink short after 10 minutes. Of the list of beers on sale (maybe 5 or 6) only one was available. No chips to accompany our "rolls" but that's fair enough i guess. Enjoyed the view but that was about it. Food was mediocre- filled a gap but not much more. Won't be returning.
