The best restaurants in Wenvoe The Vale of Glamorgan South East

Unfortunately it looks like the Beachtree has closed. A favourite place we have visited many times and we will miss our Christmas visit this year. Let’s hope it opens again in the coming months.

Absolutely fantastic from the food right down to the excellent service from start to finish. Could not fault it in any way at all. I'd happily go there every day as I loved it totally.

We booked the Red lion as we like to try restaurants that advertise being dog friendly, not just for ourselves but also business associates, on booking the manager assured us that they love dogs, really ? We travel all over the country with our dogs and have had amazing food in hotels, restaurants, with fabulous managers and staff, whether this was just an off day, but we were made to feel we were an inconvenience by the manager, the food was mediocre, quite cold the cauliflower cheese was hot on top and cold and hard underneath, but mostly we just felt that having the dogs with us was a real inconvenience. Sorry but not a place I would want to go back to.

We usually stay here when we go to Cardiff, the family rooms are always clean and our children always sleep very well. When we have come without the children the double rooms make us feel a bit spoilt with nice lighting and a bit of an upgrade in furniture. The location is near a busy road but you cant hear the traffic once in your room. The staff are always lovely and helpful and the breakfast has plenty to suit everyone with a perfectly cooked poached egg.

Wow what a lovely pub. Great please, lovely people very authentic. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, an absolute hidden gem! Would recommend and I will be back. Check it out!!!

Staff are superb. A wonderful warm Welsh welcome. My boys are always well looked after. The selection is great and the eggs (scrambled and poached) are perfect. Thank you

Observation: Not comfortable with dogs in the restaurant area. Staff appearance and hand cleanliness needs to be much improved.

Two friends and I visited here, and the food was excellent, and service was speedy. However we found the staff to be fairly passive aggressive and abrasive. We went up to the counter after finishing our lunch to order some tea and have a little cake for desert and instead they just told us our total of the bill and seemed annoyed/frustrated when we wanted to order more things. Would definitely visit again as the food we had was excellent, was just a shame about that staffs attitudes, I would usually put this down to a bad day, but after reading many other reviews this seems to be a common occurrence
