The best restaurants in Wenvoe The Vale of Glamorgan South East

Unfortunately it looks like the Beachtree has closed. A favourite place we have visited many times and we will miss our Christmas visit this year. Let’s hope it opens again in the coming months.

The food was good. Service very slow.

We booked the Red lion as we like to try restaurants that advertise being dog friendly, not just for ourselves but also business associates, on booking the manager assured us that they love dogs, really ? We travel all over the country with our dogs and have had amazing food in hotels, restaurants, with fabulous managers and staff, whether this was just an off day, but we were made to feel we were an inconvenience by the manager, the food was mediocre, quite cold the cauliflower cheese was hot on top and cold and hard underneath, but mostly we just felt that having the dogs with us was a real inconvenience. Sorry but not a place I would want to go back to.

This place has gone down hill! Food is so over priced. Waited ages for a table as the staff just ignored you and then waited ages to be served. And never come to you with a follow up to ask if you wanted another drink or ask how the food is. Which is just basic customer service. It’s a shame because it used to be a favourite.

Dropped in here without a booking last Friday tea time and managed to get a table for 2. Young lady who greeted us at Bar was excellant very friendly and very welcoming.Place was set out very nice food and service was excellant. I ordered the scotch egg for starter which was presented very nicely and we ordered Pork Belly and Faggots & Peas for mains.both were very good. Unfortunately our visit was cut short by a family with an uncontrollable toddler which was a shame because we really enjoyed visiting this lovely pub. Will definately visit again hopefully next time without the noisey nipper and loud grandmother. Thank you Wenvoe Arms team especially the lovely young lady that greeted us. Kind Regards Andrew

Wow what a lovely pub. Great please, lovely people very authentic. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, an absolute hidden gem! Would recommend and I will be back. Check it out!!!

Excellent food today as always great staff and service, but I must say the uncalled rudeness from some customers this morning was totally uncalled for, great service boys and girls

Popped in here whilst in Cardiff visiting family and it was very nice! Quaint little place lovely food & friendly service. Very good value and delicious tasty food. Highly recommended for a quick low key meal. Yum 😋

I was warmly greeted by Alannah who was very friendly and professional. I was told my order would be a moment. It came out within a minute. Great friendly and fast service in a nice atmosphere. Strongly recommend.

Order food from here and without fail the order is wrong and cold the customer service for sorting out of these situation is difficult and poor and for the price these days McDonald’s not worth it anymore.

Jackie was great, really took care of my family and I. Amazing food everyone enjoyed and a lovely place to dine out.

Another amazing breakfast at the Walston Castle today, Faith took great care of our order making sure we had everything we needed and paying attention to our grandchildren. Praise also to Luke in the kitchen who made the best poached eggs ever. Thanks to a great team 👍🏻

Observation: Not comfortable with dogs in the restaurant area. Staff appearance and hand cleanliness needs to be much improved.

Two friends and I visited here, and the food was excellent, and service was speedy. However we found the staff to be fairly passive aggressive and abrasive. We went up to the counter after finishing our lunch to order some tea and have a little cake for desert and instead they just told us our total of the bill and seemed annoyed/frustrated when we wanted to order more things. Would definitely visit again as the food we had was excellent, was just a shame about that staffs attitudes, I would usually put this down to a bad day, but after reading many other reviews this seems to be a common occurrence
