The best restaurants in Bargate Southampton South East

We visited at lunchtime on a Saturday. We found all the staff to be very friendly and attentive. They fixed a mistake on our order very quickly! Delicious platter especially the brisket and wings. Will definitely be going back.

Went to this place last night, asked for a rump steak with mushroom sauce, that came out cold, my friends meal came out wrong, & when asked the waiter, what steaks they were, they haven't a clue. So I had no confidence in this place, it wasn't at all welcoming, so I wouldn't come again. If I was Gordon Ramsey, I'll have a field day trying to sort this place out. It was just chaos. The staff had no clue on what steaks were what . It felt very awkward

I had a fantastic experience at TGI Fridays in Southampton! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal. The food was delicious—especially the fully loaded mix grill. Our server was attentive and friendly, providing excellent service throughout our visit. Overall, a wonderful dining experience! Highly recommend!

The best chicken I have ever had and the plum chips were fantastic. Portion sizes were beyond generous and myself and my husband couldn't stop talking about how lovely it was. What a brilliant hidden gem of a place we found. Honestly gutted we don't live closer and can only pop in when we come up to Southampton. I want to both tell everyone how good this place is and also keep it a secret so noone finds out about it so they don't sell out when I next come.

Absolutely shocking customer service! The staff were stood around chatting when I queued up, and the girl rolled her eyes and the guy with her looked at me, turned his back and continued their conversation. I waited another 5 or so minutes until they decided to serve me. The girl then proceeded to collect an empty tray on the table I was sat on by slamming other trays she collected on top of it and gave me a dirty look.

Great food but ran out of milk sachets for cups of tea :-o

I’m really bad. Staff accused of friend who has cerebral palsy of drinking too much then telling him he had to order pints of water! Just take a look at the other room and avoid this place like the plague the mixed race girl with curly hair it’s just rude as hell. Luckily, this was all recorded and our friend today entered papers into the small claims court against grumpy monkey Foot discrimination

Brilliant genuine restaurant full of ethnic Chinese 🇨🇳 folk having a whale 🐳 of a time! Best Chinese in years thanks so much Would love to go back with a few friends next time 🕰️

Get the ribeye steak and fries with Diane sauce! Absolutely amazing! Fish and chips were equally as good as the fish was fresh and light with the batter! Fries were big fries of tasty goodness- not soggy or burnt. Just perfectly seasoned with the right amount of crispy on the outside! Thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant at the Novotel. Service was wonderful as well and there weren't that many people in there so it was quiet and easy to hear conversation with my husband! Absolutely stay here and eat at their restaurant.

Very slow service. With only one family infront of us while waiting for our order, it took nearly 25mins for our 2 meals. By the time we got our food and eaten the queue of customers waiting for food/ delivery drivers waiting for orders was out of control. My wrap had barely anything in it (a few strands of lettuce, sauce and the chicken) but no tomato or cheddar cheese as advertised. As others have noted, this place is a joke- I do not recommend as a ‘quick bite to eat’ as we expected

Poor experience. Short staffed and the staff that we’re there seemed like they did not want to be, basic food which is very overpriced. Was put off eating when I saw the chef come out from the back whilst fiddling with his flies then proceeded to pour a bag of chips into fryers without washing his hands. Chef also had a beard with no beard snood on. The glass my drink was in was dirty. Can’t believe I paid £40 for the experience. Will never return!
