Busy place. Close to turist place, as the cruise terminal, train station and motor coach station are within walking distance. Be prepared to wait for your food. The place only has one door, so is hard to get out as people block the entrance. The staff tries hard to keep up with trafic, but if you are in a hurry, go elsewhere.

Terrible Late-Night Service – McDonald's Doesn’t Care About Online Orders If McDonald's isn't interested in fulfilling late-night online orders, why even keep the option open? I had an absolutely terrible experience today. The staff couldn’t care less about online deliveries – they are too busy cleaning, organizing, and doing everything except preparing orders. They only start making the food when the rider arrives, and sometimes they don’t even bother starting at all! I saw multiple riders waiting for their orders while the employees were just lost in their own world. One lady was literally singing and chilling while orders piled up. And the worst part? I was standing outside in the freezing cold for 10 minutes, knocking on the door, while the employees inside just looked at me but did nothing. They were all waiting for someone else to open the door. Absolutely ridiculous! McDonald's is a massive organization, so I know my review won’t make a difference. But I’m leaving this here because this was hands down one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had. If you don’t want to run online deliveries properly at night, then just don’t offer them.

Update: I wasn't thinking that this place can get any worse, tonight got a big mac and it looks like it wasn't finished when I got it ⬇️ Useless staff ordered though the app just to find out at the door that they are closed 🙄 suppose to be 24/7 this one. Looking at them trough the window instead of concentrating on the order that they have some of them stocking up cups, this is bad management 😐 7 people walking around and I'm waiting in freezing cold for one coffee and sausage and egg mcmuffin.

Absolutely ridiculous store, got in the store at 9:55pm to find all the screens turned off and then got told that they close after 10pm apart from deliveries and drive through. Some friends got in earlier and got their food and we were ushered out and the doors then locked behind us, only to then find out that they missed half of the food in the orders we did get with no way to sort this out. Never seen a McDonald's shut to walk ins after a certain time, sort it out!

On the app, on Google, even on their front window, it says they're open 24/7. THEY'RE NOT. This only applies to drive thru and deliveries. This is very deceptive advertising, and it's a shame to have to give it one star because it's actually a fast and reliable Maccies during the day. At night, however, it is not. I will change my review to a 5 stars and I'm sure others will too, IF they change to show the genuine open times.

Visited on 20th December. Staff were an absolute joke. Ordered a cheesy mccrispy burger with only cheese slices and ketchup. Comes with only ketchup. I go back up and ask for the cheese slices in line with what we ordered. It comes back with cheese sauce. So I go up again to ask for the cheese slices and they take it back, flip the patty over and put the cheese slice on and hand it back!!! When it had already been specified 3x that we did not want any cheese sauce. The staff in the kitchen were moaning and swearing too when I sent the order back when they were the ones who couldn’t follow a simple request!! Someone needs to sort it out. The manager lady with black hair was very helpful though, feel sorry for her having to deal with those useless staff!

Ridiculous and incompetent service. I rank this restaurant even lower now due to their poor deliveries, paying for any orders from this place is a waste of time. Customer service is extremely poor, food temperature is often bad. I've been there quite often and ordered directly, so I'm appalled at how bad the service and deliveries have become. They often forget items in orders, don't include sauces and refuse to resolve any issues caused by their incompetence. As with most things their prices have gone up, but not worth the price - prefer to go to the one in Shirley.

If I could give less than one star I we were treated disgustingly by staff this evening we ordered through Uber eats and half the order was missing and what did come was wrong uber were no help we tried phoning McDonald’s no answer so reluctantly got out of bed got dressed and de-iced the car at midnight in 2degree weather and drove down to McDonald’s they refused to help or give the food we had ordered and paid for and shrugged their shoulders stating it wasn’t their fault or problem that they didn’t give the driver our food and then accused us of lying saying we could of just left the food at home so we are now out of pocket with half our food missing do they really think we would of defrosted the car driven all that way in the cold to just lie about getting the food McDonald’s you need to sort your staff out

I placed an order with Uber Eats, the delivery driver arrived with two bags and we took the order. Upon opening the order we realized half the order was missing. I contacted Uber Eats and they stated I am not eligible for a refund. We phoned the driver and he said they only gave him the bags we received. Rather angry with this, we tried to phone the store but no luck, so got dressed, de-iced the car and drove to the store. The person I spoke to said he would get it sorted by replacing our whole order (the food we received was also partly wrong) and would issue a refund on their end via Uber Eats. The guy came back and said his manager said no, they will not be doing this as its not their problem. I asked to speak to the manager and he said they give the food to the delivery driver and it's no longer their issue - even though the delivery driver stated he was only given what we received, meaning McDonald's would be at fault. I've been trying to contact Uber Eats but with their support via the app saying I'm not eligible for a refund, I don't have much hope. Meaning they've taken money from me, not delivered what I have paid for and both parties are refusing to cooperate or rectify this. I know it's only a McDonald's food order but it's very much the principle and terrible service in both companies that has effectively left me being robbed of money.

I am a long standing customer of McDonald's. I was just stopping in Southampton overnight for a work event. I thought my breakfast was sorted with McDonald's, I cycled up to McDonald's as I have done to many McDonald's. Although it seems that this McDonald's has a no cyclist policy. First time I've heard of this. I suspect it's a direct discrimination against hard working food delivery cyclists. Fortunately for me I have a folding bike, so could fold it up. Also fortunately for me their on-the-spot policy seems to allow folding bikes? If I was unable to fold my bike, would I need to lock up outside??? What if there's a new no locking bikes outside policy??? Feeling lucky I got my mediocre food. Was nearly a win for power hungry staff making up rules on the spot. Close call.

As an Uber Eats partner, I feel compelled to share my concerns about the service at the McDonald’s location I frequently work with. Customers often endure waits of half an hour or more, only to be met with rudeness when they inquire about delays. Instead of providing explanations, management dismisses concerns by suggesting customers cancel their orders for a refund, which is unacceptable. This approach not only reflects a lack of accountability but also undermines the customer experience. I believe it is crucial for management to recognize that their policies should prioritize customer satisfaction rather than creating an unfriendly environment. The service quality here is astonishingly low and could very well earn a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for all the wrong reasons. Furthermore, I must emphasize the importance of hygiene, which I believe warrants your attention. For the benefit of future customers, I advise anyone using Uber Eats from this McDonald’s to expect significant delays. I hope my feedback prompts a review of the management practices at this location. 😒

Very fast service, despite my order not appearing on board via the app. Ordered a large meal and got small/medium at a push fries. Wrap of the day was poor,. Rarely nowadays, all the food was there that id ordered, albeit light on the fries. Could of ordered from hotel restaurant as had an allowance, but wanted quick food and this occasion, paid the price. The West Quay Retail park McDonalds is a usual haunt for me if having to work the weekend and I appreciate that’s it is a busy location due to all the lucky people departing and arriving for the ships. With this is mind I kind of assume it will be busy and the staff are under a lot of pressure to fulfil orders and get orders out to waiting customers. Today was not a great day for McDonalds for a number of reason highlighted below. So my usually for a McDonald breakfast is the double sausage and egg McMuffin meal with a latte. Today’s picture shows what I got. I’m confused as to why it’s so greasy ??? I always order with no butter, it’s a child hood thing never liked butter but that’s a different story. So it’s not the butter and heat spilling out. I’m not sure what it is but I am sure of something, it certainly puts me off eating it! This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this either, whilst other times it has been perfect. The coffee was also off, with a real bitter taste which is often associated apparently according to my daughter, as they milk being heated up too much, but this can’t be the reason as it comes straight from the machine with no input of heating the milk. Staff - in a busy McDonald with lots of people you really need to have someone who has a voice! I feel that there needs to be more resources (staff) on getting the orders out. The order screen was full of orders completed and one poor person trying to get them out is unfair to them as has me and other customers waiting a long time to collect our orders. I’ve marked atmosphere as a two star because hungry people waiting = grumpy people especially when it’s heavy rain outside! I’ll see what the food is like next time I come for breakfast, however if it’s still what I got today I might very well give McDonald’s a miss in the future.

Stopped on my way to the Southampton foot ferry, 50 minutes to spare for a 4 car que at 9:30pm. Any reasonable person would assume that is more than enough time but this McDonald’s still managed to mess that up! 35 minutes later, still in the same 4 car que I had to run to the ferry. I didn’t order a Mc-marathon. 50 minutes later I got a text saying my partner had just received the food! That’s an embarrassing amount of time for a fast food restaurant. I had to watch the cashier run from the cashier point to the hand out window over and over again for the 35 minutes I was there. His step count must be wild! It is often slow here but this particular time was the worst. Don’t attend unless you have nothing but time.

They wouldn't even let me use the toilet, which I was desperate for after a three hour drive. The manager was rude, the hash browns barely warm. Really not nice. Can’t rate the food because we couldn’t even get anyone to accept the order then when I approached the manager (a small guy who didn’t know what day it was) he said he would sort out the order so we could catch the ferry. Drove round twice to be ignored. Absolute joke of a place can’t believe what incompetence I have witnessed but then again it’s McDonald’s they aren’t really known for their intelligence

Very poor service, we went with our children for dine in arround 8.40pm and the cleaning lady and the Manager didn't allowed us to dine in. Cleaning lady was very rude.

Came at 3:20 am admittedly yes it it late but on the website it says open till 5AM to make sure I call before I leave and ask are you still taking drive through orders matey on the phone was rude as it was , pull up to drive through why do they tell me there shut ? The guy on the mic wasn’t even speaking English and could barely hear him as well no point in even bothering coming after 12 as this has happend multiple times

I ordered through the app. Items were missing, I phoned customer service and they issued a refund, Once I had gone back to serve the food, I noticed all my sauces were also missing. So I called again to have a very rude lady from customer service say there’s nothing they can do as a refund had already been issued for the previous missing items. So I called the store, for them to say also there’s nothing they can do. Absolutely disgusting as I’ve paid for them. And to top it off, all the chips were freezing cold. Nice one mc Donald’s. Just a pleasant little reminder to myself as to why I barely eat or order fast food.

The delivery was horrendously late. I telephoned several times to complain and was told it was on its way. The pizza hut is a maximum of 10 minutes drive from my house so the delivery was clearly not on the way when I was told that it was.

I ordered a McFlurry & a drink from the Millbrook branch, the service & food/drink were both great! The restaurant was clean too, & I decided to sit in a window booth so I could watch the world go by... Imagine my dismay then when I saw a member of staff walking towards an outside table & spitting before he got there! UGH! Not a nice thing to witness when your'e eating/drinking yourself... He then sat on the table(where people are going to eat) & spat a few more times!!! In the end I had to stop myself from looking outside as I found it VERY off-putting.
