Not very impressed with my takeaway from this restaurant, the curry goat could do with a bit more sauce, there was hardly any sauce. And there was no rice, how do you eat curry goat without rice!! when i phoned the restaurant they just tried to pass the buck and told me to complain to uber eats, not really on is it. They didn't seemed bothered that they had made an error and didn't even apologise for messing my order up. And looking at the reviews for this restaurant I'm very surprised they are still in business.

Don't be mislead by the mediocre looking food, it actually tastes good. Tried this place out as I heard about it from a friend and it didn't disappoint. The dinner buffet takeaway was tasty. Chicken was well-cooked and delicious and so was the rice. The only downside were the fried plantains that were way too oily! And the restaurant can definitely work on better presentation for takeaways. Nevertheless, good food and will come again sometime soon.

So right from the start they said service would be slow, which was fine as we were in no hurry… However I would have still expected food to be brought out all at the same time. We ordered 3 suya for starters to share, a vegetable, a chicken and a prawn. I don’t know how they managed to bring 4 out but we got a beef one we never asked for but was on the bill, we had eaten it so didn’t say anything. They also seemed to not know what they have available as we ordered our suya’s and then (after aprox 30 minute wait) a few minutes before they arrived got told that they could substitute the vegetable suya for a halloumi one as they didn’t have all the ingredients needed. I don’t know why they couldn’t have told us when we placed the order or a few minutes later rather than a few minutes before being served. On to my point about food not coming together, we ordered the suya’ for starters and they came staggered, two first then aprox 5 minutes later another one and then another 5 minutes later the last, which was fine for us as we both had something to eat but would have been nice all together at the same time. Before we had finished our starter (the suya’s) parts of the main started to arrive, so to start the halloumi burger arrived by itself, then 5 minutes later the jollof rice and coleslaw, then another 5 minutes or so later the waitress says she will get us some new rice to go with the chicken as the one served had gone cold while waiting for the chicken to arrive. So a few minutes out comes the chicken with the rice and the rest of the side including the chips which should have been to go with the already eaten halloumi burger. When the chicken arrived it was only a 1/4 and not a 1/2 that I had ordered. I think if I had not mentioned it they would have charged me for the 1/2 I ordered despite only serving me a 1/4….. interesting that another reviewer had the same thing happened that they ordered a 1/2 and got served a 1/4. The food was tasty and the colleagues serving were great, just felt disorganised in terms of getting food out at the right time. If they had said, we can’t get it all out together, what bits do you want to arrive at the same time eg halloumi burger and chips and then the chicken and the rice. That would have made a difference. Final point which I’m fairly sure is a legal requirement for a licensed premises serving alcohol is to provide free tap water on request, we requested free tap water to go with our meal but we’re refused saying we had to buy a bottle of water…. And this was on top of a beer and coke we ordered at the same time. This was our second visit to this restaurant…. Bottom line is food was tasty, staff were friendly, however I would have expected the food to arrive together and to be provide free tap water on request….

Extremely slow service. Salmon was dry and was not jerk as stated and side salad was a few strips of lettuce. Jollof rice has chicken stock in, couldn't serve white rice because it would take 40 minutes. No Halal meals. If your looking for a Native experience spend your money to go to Bournemouth Native 😎 instead for top African food. Southampton restuarant could potentially ruin the franchise.

Horribly slow service. Waited over 2 hours. Manager is a horrible person, service is terrible. Got locked out of the restaurant and never got food after a 2 hour wait. Do not go.

The food was not good. Jolof rice was the worst I've had and the chicken was tough to the point that I could not eat half of it.

should have uploaded this feedback to while back. ordered a takeaway, and It is a horrible place to go for african food. They can't even properly fry plantain. Ordered the pounded yam but that is not pounded yam - might have been corn as simo isn't this hard.The whole food is terrible and tasteless-- Never agian!!

Without doubt the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. We were the only group there at 7pm. They had no beer at all and very unwelcoming waitress that was more interest in laughing and joking with a takeaway guy. And for the food.. the rice was microwaved and still cold, the chicken wings were tiny and tasted like they have been reheated several times. There was no atmosphere I really struggle to comprehend how the reviews are so good ? I reluctantly give it a 1 star because the chips were nice. Sorry but I really dont have anything nice to say and charging £3 for 2 glasses of tap water was the final straw. Avoid

Awful food, gave me food poisoning!

First time and definitely not the last. Kelvin who looked after us was great, polite and attentive. Chef made us some great jerk chicken, jollof rice and goat curry as well as side dishes, all of which hit the spot. Goat curry in particular was a highlight.

Visited yesterday to get a takeaway, member of staff that took my order was lovely, interior was really interesting and cozy and the food wad amazing! Half a chicken, some wings and a drink for £15 as well! Really good quality for Money, tastes amazing, thoroughly recommend.

Jerk Salmon was really something else. Tried some of the wife’s goat curry and it tasted very homely. Can’t wait till the doors are back open again. Lockdown is trash! miss eating in!!

Best african restaurant ive been to on the south coast, great atmosphere, staff were all very friendly. Good portion sizes and well worth the money. Will definitely be back for more!

Worst food I had ever. I ordered half a chicken and they brought quarter chicken!!! It was fine mistake always happen and they were sorry for this mistake but inside chicken was not cooked and without any taste.

Ordered the goat soup because a lot of the items on the menu were unavailable. The soup was very spicy (This isn't necessarily a bad thing) and a very small portion with no vegetables but tasted okay. The food took over an hour and a half (the waiter said it would be 5 minutes after half an hour). The people I was dining with asked for their food to be less spicy but it was just as hot with the chicken powdered with chilli. There was a cat in the toilet, although cute, quite unhygienic. No toilet paper as well.

Came in, were the only customers there. They didn't do coffee and didn't do most of the dishes on the menu. Fine. We order other food and wait for it for over an hour,whilst the waiter runs to aldi 2 times. We get the food, except one dish. Everyone finished eating their food but one person was still waiting. Then they finally bring their dish and it has loads of spices sprinkled on top even though we specifically asked for less spice. Toilet had a cat living in it (very hygienic) and there was no toilet paper. We left disappointed and with empty bellies.

Smokes this place is fire...try the crispy beef it's banging!!! I've never go to nandos again. Thanks so much for the custom too, I really appreciated the customer service as I was expecting a goat curry but instead got a blessing in disguise xxx
