Mail Room Cocktail Bar & Restaurant in Southampton

Mail room is a typical Oxford Street club. Good music. Good atmosphere. Takes a while to get served and quite busy but great for a drink and a little boogie.

We had our engagement party here. Nothing was too much trouble for mariola and she looked after us. After seeing other venues she was the one that sold us on Mailroom. The night went perfectly. Everyone said what a party!

Amazing service, was my bestfriends birthday and the staff where so amazing making us feel like VIP. The manager was so friendly. Such a lovely bar and beautiful atmosphere xx

The best place to go in Oxford Street, Southampton for an evening out. The staff and management are very welcoming and polite always and always very eager to help in any way possible. They always offer you a place to sit as quickly as they can. The music is always great and the DJ is always happy to take requests. A very safe place for a night out. Have already booked this years office Christmas Party there. Highly recommend this establishment.

Rude staff blaming it on his shifts on and his ‘Albanian Manager’. You can buy a drink 5 minutes before closing and then they try and kick you out. There is no last call, and the staff are brutal.

Rough venue doesn’t suit Oxford street. Fights all the time and questionable clientele

The best place to enjoy food and drink in Southampton. Great atmosphere with very friendly staff. I have had the best evenings here and will definitely arranging my staff party here. I recommend to all ages to enjoy a fun evening with great music and a great bar with every drink you can imagine.

A very lovely place. Well kept, clean and tidy. Friendly and professional staff that do a superb job especially when there are special events like birthdays etc. Food is well presented and tastes delicious. Would recommend this place to everyone, definitely the place to go.

I’ve been here many times it’s a fantastic environment and nice place to go with family, friends etc. the food is out of this world and drinks are served quickly furthermore, it’s decent priced, staff are presentable good for birthdays is also nice vibes to chill and I’d recommend you go here 100%

Took forever to get served, the staff behind the bar have no idea what they're doing. They clearly see people waiting but ignore them. Drinks overpriced. This is only the second time in the bar and both times there has been fights break out and a bad atmosphere. Will definitely not be returning.

We have just had a visit during Happy Hour and tried all the cocktails on the menu. The quality of the drinks was amazing, each one perfectly executed!! The service was super friendly and we will certainly be back!

Females were treated very unfairly. Almost as if second class citizens. Don’t no the meaning of customer service. Extremely extremely rude.

Walked in, bar staff did not even acknowledge my existence as I stood in front of them. They were looking directly into my eyes so they knew I was there. I don't know why it took 2 bar staff to make 2 of the same drink, but they could've been polite and said that they were busy and would be a minute. They finally acknowledged my presence when I suggested to my friend that we should go to the place opposite, but by then it was too late. Awful customer service.

Came for food and drinks with friends on a Tuesday. Wasn’t busy but atmosphere was still great. Food was amazing and 2 for £10 cocktails were too. The kind lady who served us, Mariola i believe, was so lovely. She was very welcoming and took some pictures for us and gave us some shots on the house. Will definitely be going back again.

Held a function here. Had a curry buffet which was excellent and tasty. Everyone had a good evening.

Went to the Mail Room cocktail bar/restaurant in Southampton yesterday for a friends 70th birthday the food was great and the prosecco flowing excellent service too thank you The 2 for £10 cocktails after were fab too

Not a very welcoming experience from everyone from the door staff to the clientele. Drinks can vary in price depending on who serves you and you're not made to feel welcome. Can also confirm they have absolutely no consideration of the local community as they are definitely the loudest venue on Oxford Street, and not in a good way....I know, I live less than 2 streets away and can clearly hear their music from my house

Waitress notorically serve inappropriate tables or drinks or customers. Nice atmosphere, especially during match/event days, elastic friendly attempt to customers. Good looking bar, spacey. Toilets should be better maintained.

Dining out during Covid times: Members of staff were not wearing protective masks. They had to come extremely close to your face to talk to you because the music was too loud to be able to talk to anybody. A member of staff served/touched our plates just after coughing. We could see a hair hanging from her hand as she was serving us. Another member of staff insisted that I had ordered a meal which I hadn't, even though I kept telling her that that wasn't my choice. The food was ok, nothing special, however, dining around 18:00 right next to people having drinks and watching football is not ideal. It was too loud, we could barely hear each other. I would not recommend this to anyone and I'm definitely not going back again.

Rude staff ruined this experience. We had booked a table a couple of weeks in advance, to be told very rudely there was not one for us when we got there. One of the staff members said there was a '£500 minimum spend', which was clearly a lie. He then continued to be relatively aggressive and unhelpful. Also waited 20 mins at the bar for one drink. Would definitely not recommend.

Visited for a family birthday, was disappointed with the food - the pizzas were doughy and not as I would have hoped (considering they have a pizza oven visible). Just very uninspiring and not a place to go for a special occasion, probably didn’t help having a load of “lads” appear to watch the euros. I’m guessing it’s better for cocktails than it is for food.

We were turned down despite having a reservation! Had to queue up for 15 minutes and left in the end.

I live very close to this place and I was hoping to turn this into my new local. The location is great and they have shade in the summer! I visited this place several times but every visit was worse than the previous. The thing which infuriated me the most is that the prices changed depending on which member of staff serves you! I got a round and spent £10, I got a second round of the same and I spent £12, my partner got a round of the same and he paid £9...?! I queried that with the members of staff and they had no explanation. The place fills up with screaming children whose parents couldn't care less that their screaming brats were literally sat at our table touching everything with their hands right in the middle of a global pandemic. We asked a member of staff to speak to the parents and he refused so we left and sat across the street. The place attracts some unsavory characters such as loud groups of lads who have no regard of social distancing and are just itching for a fight with anybody around them. So I will not be visiting that place again when it re-opens after the lockdown, I've taken my business elsewhere.

Very overcrowded. Minimal COVID19 guidelines being followed. Full of groups of lads who inevitably wanted to start fights everywhere. Not a pleasant atmosphere.
