Ed's Easy Diner in Southampton

Poor experience. Short staffed and the staff that we’re there seemed like they did not want to be, basic food which is very overpriced. Was put off eating when I saw the chef come out from the back whilst fiddling with his flies then proceeded to pour a bag of chips into fryers without washing his hands. Chef also had a beard with no beard snood on. The glass my drink was in was dirty. Can’t believe I paid £40 for the experience. Will never return!

Using my husbands account - I have been a regular here for years it is my favorites place to come to eat when I get over the anxiety of coming into town that is.. Kieran in particular has always made the place so much more special for me with his bubbily personality, good energy and smiling face never fails to give 10/10 service the place would never be the same without him! He makes Ed’s diner what it is he really does! :)) The place is also Autism friendly which is a bonus

Very poor management and under staffed! A guy with the blue and white shirt seemed to work there, but doesn't seem to know what he is doing? The scenario looked something out of a comedy sketch, every staff member looked very stressed of him being in everyone's way. Do better! There was no notice of drinks being delayed! Our drinks had turned up after our meal was done!

Been about a year ago and had good experience however on this visit it appears the menu has changed and no longer choices for vegetarians as there had been. Service was dreadful and we waited over half hour for bottomless drinks. We complained as we could see drinks left on the side with ice in melting but told they not ours! Eventually 2 of the 4 of us got drinks but 2 waited till they had started their meals to get drinks. Staff said they were short staffed we said they shouldn’t have accepted so many people in the diner if they couldn’t cope. Won’t go again !

Fantastic place, even on a busy day the service was incredibly fast and polite and made sure to ask if any intolerances. Absolutely delicious food which is absolutely mouth watering 😋. Highly recommened and will be coming back soon

I've been a loyal Eds fan since my first visit in 2016, and introduced all my friends and family to the amazing experience, one of which is GF I recently visited after said GF friend said the menu had changed. Not only that, but the whole experience is terrible now. No friendly server, no table service, couldnt get the app to work, and as for the menu, they've done away with SO many items that you may as well nip across the way to Maccies and save yourself a massive bill. Each year we get together 3 or 4 times and we have a minimum bill of £100+ but we wont be using this diner again. Its not just about the cost, we pay good money for good food and experiences, and this is neither.

Un-Attentive staff that asked for a tip before serving. Burger buns taste like dough, children's corn tasted like vinegar, fries were under cooked. All in all a relatively poor place to eat with a high price tag.

Sadly not a good experience, checked the website and set of for a day out which included having lunch here. Arrive and wait to be seated to then be told they are not serving burgers or hot dogs as the grill is broken. Fair enough things break but have the decency to display it on your website, and also have the decency to give customers the choice to make up their minds by putting up a sign. Instead you keep people waiting and expect them to accept a sub standard menu, when one of your biggest selling items is your burgers

For the most part Eds is amazing weekdays are the best time to visit as weekend are very busy. the chicken and waffles of the morning menu are very delicious and they have a great selection of burgers on the dinner menu shakes are good portions and price are decent. Staff are friendly. would recommend.

Lovely food... proper diner style food. Definitely not healthy lol! Probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. The price was quite high compared to other options. We were the only ones eating so not much atmosphere.

Popped in yesterday around 5.30pm. We were served by a lovely and professional gentleman who took our order and served our table. The food was delicious and we were served very quickly. Highly professional team who worked together to make us feel welcome. This restaurant was one of my brothers favourite places to visit. He would be thrilled to hear that it still doesnt disappoint. Highly recommend a visit! 🙂 Thank you guys 👍

Had a lovely meal…best burger from there in ages! Greeter/Server very friendly. However, not having waitress service when the meals aren’t cheap is off putting!

Absolutely rubbish the food was cold as supposed to be warm and the drink was warm which is should be cold bery bad costumer service just waste the money

Disappointing visit. Uninterested staff, now have to either order on an app or go to the counter and queue, table service is now too much to ask. At about £20 a head for a burger and fries you might as well save £10 and go to McDonald’s now. There’s no differential. Shame as we were regulars here. Milkshakes still great !

Good quality breakfast meals with good portions. Cola etc, on refill.

Lovely food and service from Kieran was excellent, food was quick to arrive and delicious, only downside was that you have to use the shopping centres bathrooms , can’t fault Ed’s , shame there’s not more of them around as it’s much nicer than a Burger King or a five guys !

Food was lovely but needed more to make it look like a proper diner, couldn't fault the food though. The only lager they sell is bottled budweiser which is very expensive £6 a bottle!!

Brilliant friendly diner! Brilliant food that is very customisable and some of the best milkshakes!

Went here for lunch today, some menu items were out of stock due to Local events and crewship departures. The staff were able to make a hot dog, even though they ran out of hot dog buns, I recommend the milkshake. They made me a banana milkshake even though it was no longer on the menu, Staff were great and friendly.

Never been to the USA, but it certainly looks the way it's presented in movies. Really nice and clean. Our waitress, Helen, was wonderful. She went above and beyond to help us get the food we wanted.

The waiter has been bothering me and my husband with his creepy, unwanted opinions about religion and some weird bear versus man argument where he kept saying he would happily rescue me from a bear which made us feel really uncomfortable.

Food was very good, just a little pricy for some things. I would recommend eating here if you have someone with gluten free needs or if you fancy some good food. I will say it wont blow your mind and the price is high but not stupidly high, it's just good for what it is!

Went here on Thursday morning. My wife asked the waiter what would he recommend between the veg hotdog main(She does not eat pork or beef) and the fried chicken and waffle breakfast Waiter proceeded to say he doesn't eat any vegetables so cannot comment on the vegetarian main. She was then 'treated' to a diatribe on the waiter's eating habits of eating only once per day and his eating of only meat and carbs and him not understanding why ppl eat 3 times a day as its not needed but 'hey, its what they do'. This all whilst we're about to order from your establishment. Maybe he's not in the right role az a waiter as sutely he understands it's food he's selling????? Maybe he needs training? Maybe he needs to understand he shouldn't put customers off by his personal opinions? As a customer, I did not appreciate his ' enlightenment' nor did I ask for it. Frankly, it made me feel a bit embarrassed and also annoyed to be talked down too whilst ordering. Seems he doesn't understand hospitality. I was so annoyed at this waiter's dismissively & arrogant attitude. Not something your customers want to have when dining.

Ate here on 4th April. 2nd time we've been here. Excellent food and service, will definitely go again, thoroughly recommend.

Food is okay, staff are friendly, diner could been clearer

I'm not normally one for burgers but I found one here that suited me down to the ground. The service was quick but not rushed and the food was obviously fresh. The thing that stood out to me though was our waiter Henry. What a genuinely lovely and funny guy. I cannot speak highly enough of him and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Henry!

waited an hour and 40 minutes from order the delivery driver done laps round where I stay and the food was barely warm and all soggy and worst wings I've ever had

American style restaurant located inside a shopping center. The burgers were good, freshly cooked. The choice of beers limited to two types, but one was not available. The staff is kind.

Last time my insides felt like this after I got up, I'd had Taco Bell. In the US.

Super helpful staff, this is very helpful/supportive to us at times so we appreciate the extra distance people go when they aren't obligated. Good food, good value. Good milkshakes. Happy lunchtime enjoyed by the kids.

There is a wide variety of foods to choose from, the staff is very friendly and inclined to help. The food is very delicious and there is always something that you will enjoy.

We didn't order food so I cannot comment hence 1 star. The service was superb, our server was really friendly, helpful and informative. A comfortable, relaxed atmosphere making overall a very pleasant visit.

Very expensive for what you get..

I had never heard of or visited an eds until now and I have to say I'm upset I didn't come sooner. I ordered a double burger that was topped with sauerkraut and pastrami and it was excellently presented, served with tasty and crispy waffle fries. The patty was juicy, and the toppings flavoursome and although a bit out there it worked well. I tend to go to burger places when I am out and for a sit down meal it was good value too. £48 for three people Vs £40 at shake shack the weekend before...and that was for only 2 people. If you are in Southampton and enjoy proper burgers this is the place to go

Recently dined at the Southampton restaurant, with a menu boasting delicious creations. The food was a delightful symphony of flavors, leaving me thoroughly satisfied. However, my excitement dwindled when the drinks arrived; they were disappointingly very flat. Despite the hiccup with the drinks the waiter soon rectified and brought over new drinks still flat. Overall dining experience was good, thank you for the lovely food.

Food was lovely. Served by kieran and what an asset he is to this place. Fantastic service, easily the best service we've had whilst eating out. Food was good however kieran made our visit.

As an American here visiting my boyfriend it was fun to see some American foods represented at a restaurant. The food was delicious! The staff was great. Everything was clean and it was a nice atmosphere. Will definitely visit this place again on future visits.

I've only been for milkshakes, which are good and the food looks good too but way to priceyfornwhat they are.

The diner has taken a down wood spiral sadly and won't be returning. Small menu with not alot on it. Used to be wonderfully busy with a big menu. Service was poor no cutlery given, no one checking in on how our food was or if we needed anything or more drinks. Plastic plates which slide all over the table. Clearly the poor service showed with how empty it was for 5pm supper! Nandos was heaving with a que! Sad shame as it was a great place for a good bite to eat!

Good menu. My friend (grown up) was allowed to choose from the kids menu. However. Food was cold.

The kids meal is good value. I recommend ordering that if you only want something small. It can get really busy during lunch hours so try and visit a little before or after.

Love this restaurant. The service is always top notch and the food is consistently brilliant. It can be busy and a small delay to wait for a table but if you enjoy a classic diner then the wait is worth it. The milkshakes are awesome, lots of flavours to pick from!

I had bbq chicken bacon stack and it was delicious. The bacon was soft and crispy. The chicken just crumbled on the tongue which was just yummy 😋 . My fiancé had filthy texan burger which was rich and juicy. I would defiantly recommend this place in Southampton 😊

It's a diner so all fried food. Meal was quick to arrive and lovely. The thing that made this visit for my daughter and myself so memorable were the very friendly staff and speed of food delivery 😀

There was a kind and very caring man that served us. The food was good, we are a vegetarian family but still got some nice options. However, the vegetarian/vegan selection could be increased as there was not much. The fries were lovely, tables were clean. Nice range of drinks too. :)

Server/Bar Helen (one with the cool Hair) is brilliant, good food and lovely atmosphere

I have to give this place 5 stars as there is one worker here that always goes above and beyond everytime! I will add his name if I come across the receipt! He was so friendly with my little one she is normally so shy but he made her smile so much! I also had a really bad headache when I came in this trip and he was very caring and understanding about it all. The food is also good and great for younger kids.

Came to Eds easy diner for breakfast, visited close to the breakfast ending, staff were very welcoming and friendly, we managed to order breakfast on time and received very quickly. Food was top quality, absolutely amazing full English breakfast, tasted amazing. My partner has the maple and bacon pancakes, he said they were wonderful too, very filling and amazing taste. Staff were lovely to pop over and check on us. Positive vibes all round. They kept the restaurant constantly clean and tidy.

Made this delivery couple days ago however I didn’t receive food by the time I got outside my hostel driver was gone However it is reported as delivered been trying to get hold of company for couple days and had no luck

The food is nice but its a bit small for the prices. Little pot of coleslaw for £4.50 is too much. The meal deal has errors on here, it charges you for the chips which makes the "deal" £5 more than getting the 3 items separately. Arrived warm, milkshake too.
