The best restaurants in Rye Rother South East

This small fronted winery can almost be missed when walking along Cinque Ports Street in Rye. But spot it and venture in and you'll be greeted by wonderful hosts (Graham and his wife) who really make you feel welcome. The fairly small interior is cosy but nice and their extensive knowledge of wines is second to none. It's not expensive either. Highly recommended and we can't wait to go back.

The food at Fig in Rye was out of this world . Explosions of flavours and our favourites were the gnocchi and ceviche. I highly recommend booking before hand as it gets full fast and experience all dishes. Portion sizes are great to share like tapas and brilliantly tasty and gastronomical.

Warm, friendly service with the best Danish pastries I have ever eaten. My granddaughter devour her ice cream, claiming it to be super delicious! Would highly recommend a visit to this excellent café.

We found this restaurant by chance about three years ago and we will never go anywhere else if we are in Sussex. The food is absolutely great, the staff are so friendly and the owner is so attentive. Can not recommend enough.

Great place to pop and listen to live music. Friendly and efficient service - ordered drinks and cheese platter. Staff very accommodating (the venue was very busy)

We picked up a lunch for the beach, sandwhiches, crisps, soft drinks and a cake. By far the best sandwich in a while (you can pick your own fillings) and they did a gluten free option too with gluten free cakes. They also sell good food presents.

Came across this place by accident. Definitely recommend this pub if you are in the area.

Pub très agréable. Nous désespérions de trouver une table à 20h pendant le week-end de Pâques, et après 10 minutes au bar, tout était réglé. J'ai beaucoup apprécié les légumes verts de saison et nous avons partagé un pie énormissime et topissime.

Absolutely top-class, delicious fish n chips 5 minutes from the beach. Nice secluded courtyard which could use a little TLC but wasn’t busy when we came so suited us fine. Attentive, friendly staff and dogs are welcome. Perfect for a sunny afternoon lunch. Large car park.

Cream tea for £9.50 included 2 scones but I was disappointed with the quality of them. Being a traditional tea shop I expected home made fruit scones but these looked and tasted shop bought. Disappointed for the price but the service and place was lovely. Perhaps I should have had cake instead!

Amazing value..we have the regular bosun(sausage,bacon,egg,toast,beans,hash brown,2 slices of toastplus free jam...£8.50!!!) Served by the charming Amy. Location is unique.. A quintessentially English experience.

Stayed at Haydens for a weekend break with friends. Can’t recommend it enough. Lovely rooms, helpful staff, great coffee and cakes and the breakfast is amazing and cooked to order. Shout out to the staff at breakfast and for afternoon coffee/cakes who were amazing and so helpful. Would definitely visit again.

Marco’s was the best restaurant we ate at in Rye. Food was extremely tasty and unique combinations, cocktails were really unique, service was great, fast, the staff were really nice, the place is beautiful. Must go in Rye.
