The best restaurants in Battle Town Rother South East

I don't think there are many hotels in Battle. I wanted to stay there for a couple of nights and this looked the best on the reviews. It's essentially a few rooms above a pub that have been modernised to a good standard. Our room was at the front and had a view of Battle Abbey, which we loved. We're not bothered by traffic noise, but if you are, I recommend a room at the back, without the abbey view and without the sounds of (very busy) Battle High Street. Beware, the pub actually closes quite early (10:30), so don't expect to come back for a nightcap.

We've been meaning to try La Bella Napoli since it opened. Today was finally that day, and the food was phenomenal. Each dish our group ordered was a testament to authentic Italian cuisine, masterfully prepared with a finesse that only true culinary artisans can achieve. Always stop here for breakfast when we take my dogs to the vet. Dog friendly place, dogs always get a treat and a bowl of water. The staff are really friendly, there is a good choice on the menu but I usually have the big breakfast with tea. The food is good quality and always nice and hot. Prices are reasonable, but for me it's worth it as the food quality is so good. Everything is spotless. They cope with my wife's allergy well. The chef normally pops out to say "Hi". If you are in Battle, this is a great place to eat.

A nice room in a good old pub. Very centrally located but sadly no onsite parking (free parking was just a couple of streets away). Whilst the road was busy due to a nearby traffic diversion our room at the back was quiet. There was no breakfast (mid-week) but there was a good cafe nearby. A good choice if you are visiting the Battle area where there is lots of historical interest.

I have visited twice in the last few weeks for breakfast, always cooked fresh with good ingredients, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend for a coffee or breakfast when in Battle, dog friendly too.

We were a tad late for the breakfast menu but the kind staff happily fixed us up a full english nonetheless, it was greatly appreciated! food was excellent and service was fab. will be returning!

Food was ok. Deep fried Camembert was delicious but to only get 5 pieces of calamari for £12 was deeply disappointing. Will take me a long time to get over that.

Amazing food, we had takeaway for a birthday and everyone loved it. I accidentally paid the driver too much money and he gave it back straight away after realising, really appreciate it

Stopped off on Sunday Night on way back from Hastings. Food was good and plentiful. Staff were chatty and when asked for more garlic sauce didn't grumble. The only issue was that because it is a takeaway, the door was left open on quite a chilly evening.

Lovely rooms, great service and excellent value. Highly recommended!
