Nice food always welcome and friendly atmosphere

Order never arrived, no phone call and tried to ring the number 50 times just to get a voicemail?? Ordered 2 burgers and chips at 5pm and never arrived. Have ordered from here in the past and it use to be good but the delivery times are ridiculous, This is the second time this has happened in a couple of months.

Very tasty pizza and was able to sit in to eat it despite it being bought as a take out meal.

Poor quality and rude staff. Disappointed.

Always manage to get my order wrong, but then they always correct it straight away. Love the food here regardless!

Bustling little kebab shop, think it’s the only one in Battle. Anyway, they had beer ready to serve and the food was amazing

Ordered Haddock. Nice smile and a 'sir' from the man behind the counter. When we got back home and began to eat, realised it wasn't Haddock, something like Pollock. Tasteless. Any old white fish and not properly cooked from frozen. Mind you, chips were excellent, hence the one star.

Ordered from here for delivery and it took 2 hours for just a small donner kebab and 2 burgers to get to a house that’s about 10 minutes away, we asked for a refund and began swearing at us and being rude. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ITS!!!!

I told my son not to order from here but he continued to regardless, after 2 hours of nothing I called up to cancel it as I was too hungry to wait any more and cooked at home, I found a 5p in my kebab the last time I ate there and haven’t eaten there since I’m pretty glad it didn’t turn up if I’m honest !

We rang and ordered a delivery at 6 13 pm. At 7 20pm we rang , as it hadn't turned up and were told it would be ten minutes. 20 minutes later ar 740 I rang to see where it was to be told we could come and collect but they were busy. I told the person on the phone that we had ordered a delivery because we couldn't collect. The person said he would not be brining it and became defensive and unpleasant... Will not be ordering from here again as this is historically the case with their delivery service and tonight is not the first time this has happened it's a shame as the food is okay when we have collectedin the past.

Excellent as always. Cod & chips, cod roe & chips. Fish cooked to perfection, chips crisp and tasty. Can't go wrong.

These guys are brilliant, my grandad lives local and he loves a good fish and chips. So when we visit he insisted on this place. When it’s his birthday he wants the meal in here. We recently had a meal for his 80th, their hospitality is second to none, they always make a while seating area to fit us all in but still all sat together. Everyone ordered different food kebab, fish and chips, burgers etc, all the food was amazing and cooked to perfection and the lads even gave me a free portion of baklavas. There is toilet facilities on site and the addition of a bar too. There is parking available in a car park behind the shop front and a short stroll across the courtyard are to the restaurant. I highly recommend this place be it for a take away or a family meal.

Well cooked crisp chips in my opinion best in Battle.

Amazing place. Food is wonderful you get a HUGE portion worth every penny. Such friendly and efficient staff, served fast.

I went to the bathroom there was leftover business left in the toilet it was in a filthy state very unhygienic. We were also asked to serve other people their food whilst we were waiting even though we are customers ourself.

Found by accident have to say the food especially the sausage in batter was the best I ever had if your passing give it a try it you will not be disappointed

Delivery took longer than advised however pleasantly surprised with the fish & chips, so delicious and cooked perfectly! The kids and husband wanted kebabs which were also lovely. I usually go to the fish and chip shop but wanted to do just one order with delivery so thought I’d give it a try and it was so much nicer! Less greasy and chips were perfect!Arrived piping hot too. Will be back!

I’ve heard good things and bad things about this place and sad to say that today I’ve had the worst service from a takeaway I’ve had in a while. Took 2 hours to come when I live 10 minutes away and had to phone up and ask about the food multiple times and every time it was on its way, when the food final came it was grease as could be.

This fish and chip shop i discovered recently all i have had from this chip shop is their cheesy chips and how nice they are the chips are cooked i think in different oil than other chip shops ive visited but whatever the oil is certainly makes the chips taste good they give you a great amount of cheese on top and then they microwave the chips to melt the cheese and makes it taste so much better next time I will try their cod fish and will post results

20/08/23 - We’ve just had probably the best plaice and scampi ever 😋 Promptly delivered, chips crispy, not greasy and the plaice was enormous 🙀 the scampi was delicious. Very generous portions, all in all a lovely meal. Will definitely be ordering again. We’ve had food from Battle Kebabs before and it’s always been superb 🥰 02/09/23 - Ordered cod, plaice and large chips to be delivered - arrived quickly and, again, was absolutely delicious, even better than last time 😋

Absolutely Delicious! Huge servings, great value for money, quick service, best chips I had the entire holiday! Very mixed menu so no one will be disappointed!

Unable to find anything open on the Sunday jubilee weekend we found this open so tried it on the off chance. We had a large cod and chips divided between 2 kids, chicken and chips and a small lamb kebab in pitta bread with lettuce. Chips were excellent - crispy. Lamb was plentiful but could have done with more flavour and seasoning and was slightly tough. We sat inside as not near home. It came to £20 for 4 meals which was very reasonable.

Complacent due to no local competition I have been using Battle Kebabs for nearly 20 years on and off and there is no consistency. Most recently a delivery meal was ordered , not in the rush hour I add, and the kebabs were cold and mean on portion (super size ordered) and the chips were scratchings from the bottom. If Victor does your order you will get a good meal if his brother does it you might not be so lucky. Free local delivery ? not so !! Driver adds what he thinks he can get away with.

Located at the top end of the high street, this kebab shop also sells fish and chips as well as fried chicken. There are some tables and seats inside which you can use. Good sized portions and the cod was well cooked with skin on and in crispy batter. Unfortunately due to it being bonfire night, they appeared to be rushing meals out and our chips were undercooked.

Absolutely disgusting how a member of staff were speaking inappropriately to 2 Young 12 year olds asking them personal questions, telling them they were very sexy and gorgeous they have been reported to the police and the local schools keep your girls and children away from this kebab shop

Kebab shop with a large choice of foods including burgers pies chiken and sausage. Kebabs are good.

Eaten here a couple of times when we come to Battle with the kids. Delicious kebabs, very generous, clean place and very reasonably priced. Had a chat with the owner while waiting, lovely guy who really cares about his business and takes pride in his work. Excellent kebab house.

On holiday when we used this Fish and Chip shop. Wow, so glad we did as it's reputation is deserved. Probably the finest chips I have tasted in a very long time. Crispy, chunky yet soft on the inside with a lovely flavour. Added to that not greasy at all. The fishcake I had alongside them was equally tasty and of the highest quality. My other half had a kebab and sorry to sound like a broken record but yes it was equally tasty. I can highly recommend this kebab and chip shop.

Great food...freshly cooked..big portions.

Kebab was dry, pita bread was too oily. The last time I ordered from here I heard a child screaming out back and it scared me away from the place, it was not screaming of playfulness it was of sheer pain and torture. This place needs to be sectioned on the battle high street and should be placed elsewhere. To add to my most recent statement, the delivery of the items ordered to my address previously had taken a very long time, they took 3 hours to deliver my KEBUB and CHIPS and I wasn't happy, they also made my order wrong as they slathered it in Garlic Sauce which wasn't requested. I wouldn't order here again till the day I die. Please sort this establishment out. Below will be attached a picture of my Kebab for all to see.

Food really nice, It seemed I had to wait ages compared to other people that came and went with more than I had ordered? Customer service not great and got my order wrong in the end too.. Was on holiday ( so not likely to be back anytime soon)

Had a cuppa and a toasty sandwich tea wasn't the best as the milk must have been put in before the hot water so it didn't brew at all.The sandwich wasn't as hot as I expected and not all the cheese had melted the bread was nicely toasted , considering it's a kebab and burger place i suppose you can't expect to much

Lovely kebabs at quite an unexpected location. I have been visiting Battle for a few years to get dental treatment and I never knew this place existed until recently. I had the lamb kebab and with chilli and garlic sauce, it was superb. So good that a few days later I can still imagine the goodness and if it wasn't for the distance, I'd be there in a jiffy. Good size portion did the job and I saved a bite for the drive home and it was sublime.

Best coffee in Battle! We like to sit outside on a sunny day and people watch

Popped in for a takeaway as we were visiting family. Very large portions, for a great price. Fish was well cooked with a light batter. Chips were bang on and the kebab was top notch. Well worth a visit 5☆

Very slow But the best chips we've had!

Delicious food and all the salads were fresh and crispy, kids loved the chicken nuggets and chips. Kebab was massive - couldn't even finish it. Very affordable prices - with drinks didn't even reach £20 for 3 huge plates of food.

Just had our first cod and chips with mushy peas for over a year. Bitterly disappointing. Batter soggy and whole meal...including peas..barely warm. Won't go again! Used to be reliable quality. What a pity.

I was passing through and desperate for something swift to eat. I’d heard good things about this place. So I thought I’d give them a try. Well, they must of either been having a bad day or they are not as good as I’d heard. I phoned ahead to order, told them I was collecting and that I’d be about 10 minutes. When ordering I found the staff member to rude. His words were “anything else, I’m busy” I’d only given one item of my order. I then asked for something they obviously didn’t offer, I was made to feel stupid over the phone, I told them not to worry and made my order clearer, minus what I’d originally asked for. I ordered 2 meals. The food was ready for when I arrived, which made me happy as I was starving by that point. I had a polite at the start but somewhat interrupted conversation with the man behind the counter. He answered the phone whilst I was talking to him without any acknowledgment or apology to me so I paid, took my food and left. When I arrived at my destination to eat with a friend the order was wrong. If the member of staff had only listened in the first place when I called rather than telling me he was “busy” he would have got my order correct. I had the wrong meat, chilli sauce and I hadn’t asked for sauce. I asked for extra salad and I got no salad at all and to top it all I was probably over charged as well for what I’d received. Very poor. I would avoid this place. I will in future. I’d rather get a sandwich from the local supermarket. A real shame, I was expecting good things.

Large varied menu freshly cooked great value for money defiantly use again

Ordered from here a few times now, and as there local I thought I give them another chance, food is bland, the guys that work there are polite enough, but the food isn't worth what they're charging, the pineapple on the Mrs pizza tasted of nothing, I'm guessing in the freezer to long??? From now on I'll be traveling to Hastings to get food as then the food will be worth the travel

Not a bad 1/2 pounder a bit greasy but very edible. Chips are proper chips, not fries. I would give it 5* but they charge £1.20 for a 69p can of coke.

I would not bother ordering from these. The food is sloppy, oily, late, turns up stone cold. It’s that oily that the oil goes through the container and soaks the paper. I phone up asking for two meals and they always get the orders wrong. It’s two simple orders. When i first phone up, I get told the order is going to be 50 mins then it turns up two hours later. They can’t even be honest with you over the phone. They lie all the time. Also my friend had a chicken doner from them and ended up down conquest hospital and was off for a week due to food poisoning. They reheat most stuff, don’t trust the chicken. The kebab meat falls to pieces.

Extremely good food, well worth a visit.

Very poor fish. Fish was as tough as an old plimsoll. Starting to feel quick sick after eating it as well. Chips were fine.

Staying at George Hotel Battle , decided I wanted a kebab, was very nice , tasty freshly made , Abousletly Delicious. Lamb doner was well nice , even the chicken shish

Phoned up at 17:15 placed an order for delivery got told 1 hour it'd turn up phoned at 18:30ish got told delivery man had just got back to collect ours and deliver yet an hour later 7:30we got our dinner, cold not even warm just eatable, phoned up complained the food was cold mentioned I got told an hour but it was actually 2 hours to be told 'I only tell you what I boss says' they used to be good but after tonights situations changed my mind totally shocking

The best kebabs in the area and surrounding areas and friendly staff. Chips are proper not frozen fries like in many others.

We have ordered a few times from here trying to give it the benefit of the doubt every time it disgusting chips soggy and oily every time my partner COD was raw they clearly don’t change there oil ew it’s just gross. Apple pies never cooked properly.

Whereas I enjoy sitting down for their reasonably priced food in their little restaurant on the corner of Battle Market Square, my main experience is their takeaway fish and chips. Always perfectly cooked, delicious and plenty of it. My son eats like a horse and loves fish and chips. We find that two large portions of fish and chips are ample to feed my family of four. I am on my way there to pick up another order right now.

Fried chicken was good. But would avoid the fish. The fish we shared was mushy (not crispy). Assuming it was either very poor quality or badly cooked.

The service was extremely slow but more worrying was the total disregard by all staff and most customers of the legal requirement to wear face coverings. Customers should not be allowed in the premises without face coverings when all other places we’ve visited in the last few days are fully compliant. Needs sorting

We stopped at this hidden gem on the way to somewhere else for a bag of chips, wasn't expecting anything amazing BUT was supprised to find the best chips I or any other mortal could ever eat!! Sealed well, evenly salted, crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. For £2 you can't go wrong, 10/10 would recommend, someone get this man a medal!!!!!

Rubbish, no flavours at all, salad was one sliver of tomato, no cucumber, just cabbage and onion. Never use it again, most went in the bin.

Utter bandits. Despite phoning a large order in a day ahead, with a reminder call on the day, they still failed to deliver it to me as they'd said they could. An hour and a half AFTER I was supposed to be feeding a large group of hungry friends and family at a campsite, instead I had to drive there and hurry the order along to collect it. I honestly believe that if I hadn't gone there in person, I'd never have received it. In the place itself I saw not one iota of contrition. I was treated as if this error was my fault. Virtually no eye contact or communication. I was actually met with what I think was anger and frustration when I asked for a discount. Weird thing is, food was fine. Anyway, my strong advice would be to look elsewhere if you actually want to get some food.

Travelled to Battle on a day trip had lunch here. Sat inside, huge portions of piping hot tasty food, great service even got a glass of wine. Recommend donor meat, fantastic. Really cheap too.

Decent for takeaways, have been going for a few years.

They are terrible, if you like waiting 3 hours for your food, or like it turning up wrong because they don't bother writing it down. Then by all means order from them.

Don't bother because they can't This is the most pathetic excuse for a restaurant or take away. Only people who have never been to a proper restaurant in a city (London) would think this is acceptable. The food and ingredients are at best average. Typically frozen bulk brought catering burgers and sausages, costed at London prices. Chips are ok. Service is dreadful. If you live more than 10mins from the restaurant don’t bother calling or ordering, they will forget you and you’ll be waiting 2hrs for a basic meal. I would love to see what Ramsey makes of this tired, backwards country restaurant. Its an appalling shame to any business. Its better not to eat then to eat here.

Had large cod & chips, the cod was bright white & tasted fantastic, the batter was lovely & crisp, the chips were so good all in all perfect fish & chips.
