this is a regular order however today the chicken was burnt ruining the usual Great quality from this restaurant 😞

I asked the restaurant before I ordered it’s my first time that I’m ordering from you guys. Please make it large. Let me tell you. Me and my partner struggled to eat that. That was absolutely massive piping hot so you know it is freshly cooked. Wow thank you so much, guys. I’m gonna go to sleep now.

I had plaice and found it to be very dry inside like it had been under a heat lamp for a long time. Really not enjoyable

Just simply the best tasting Cod and Chips for me. Without fail. Their kebabs are very good too and authentic but I always drift back to their Fish and Chips range. Think the price of a fishcake on here is a bit steep but love them too!

Ask for fish and chips to be cooked a little longer until golden for more crunch! Usually excellent fish and chips from here, though on our most recent purchase it turned out that the fish batter was very oily. We were first in, so the oil was probably still not as hot as it should be when the fish is thrown in. Could request that you like the batter to be super crispy? Suggestion: redo the menu! Some people like hake (I think it tastes like salt water) yet it's listed next to huss as if it's the same 'huss / hake'. Then it's listed separately further below. Make the menu clearer, in better order, and on a slightly different blue and you'll refresh the whole shop.

Meh. Drink was missing from the order entirely, food was luke-warm, and it was late. Won't use again.

kebab roll was oily and was actually thrown away. The rice with shish was also really oily to the point that oil was coming out if container. chips n salad were ok

I asked if they'd fry the fish and chips a little longer until they were golden brown as chippies' chips are normally pale and soft. The result was crispy batter and chips. Batter was not oily. Large cod was big enough for my 80+ year old parents to split, as with their large chips. Their cod was slightly lemony, which showed it was fresh. My haddock had a little more flavour, though my preference is huss. With their parking bays round the corner this place is easy to get to. While waiting a regular customer from Hastings came in. He said driving into Hastings is hassle with the lights and traffic, whereas taking the link road to Bexhill is easier.

This is the best by far, I've just had a lamb shish kebab and chips,the kebab is served with rice and salad and a choice of sauce, so tasty, let's talk about the chips mmm I'm still eating them, a medium portion is a huge bag, I can honestly say the chips are the best too, they are hot, fresh, my son ordered by accident last month as I sent him to another chip shop which keeps saying they are good etc, I'm so glad he went to Blue anchor one, it's so addictive, the delivery came fast too, I need to know the secret of how you cook the chips that make them taste so good. Thank you, I'm already thinking about my next order

Their chips are not very good I'm afraid. But all good other than that.

It was two meal but just over £40. Which is expensive but there was enough for three people. The chips were not brilliant but everything else was to a good standard.

The box is soggy. The chips is too soft and the fish butter it too thin

One of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Recently refurbished, there's no smell at all! The fish is always super fresh and fried at the moment. Compared to some restaurants at the Borough Market or in Soho, this is a gourmet place. I tried also the mixed shish and I'm super impressed. Grilled on charcoal in front of me, both chicken and lamb were soft, juicy and we'll seasoned. Update 2020: they now offer delivery with deliveroo and Uber eats! Personally, my favorite fish and chips in London. Update 2024: still the best in town!

Absolutely stunning chicken shish wrap, in a Turkish bread. Brilliant value for money, delicious and absolutely lovely staff. Will definitely be back.

My husband ordered a kebab, which was good. My fish and chips were awful. The fish was old and the batter was so hard I took it all off. The chips were crispy and were crispy and old. Bottle of Coke missing from order. Never use them again.

The staff is very friendly, we ordered fish and chips, they served a salad as a compliment to the order, everything was delicious, the fish was excellent.

I ordered haddock and chips and cod and chips. He cooked it while I waited. It was horrible. Chips were flat and hard, full of hard bits. Fish batter horrible, very dark and oily. Best place for it, in the bin. Complete waste of money

Me and the family walked in to make an order to take Home with us for a Friday evening we’ve walked in made our order and the man who served us was very friendly and very funny with our little girl. One of them even gave her a free orange juice. Once we got home and opened all our food we couldn’t believe how much we got given with the price we have paid and then once we sat down to eat it, we couldn’t believe, how good the quality of it was for how cheap and how much quantity there was, would like to say also once we actually tasted the food it tasted like we were at a high-end Turkish restaurant. Quality of the food is 5 stars and a quantity of the food is also 5 stars. we will definitely be returning here regularly.

Absolutely joke the service I got on the phone when calling, I was missing items from my order so I called and explained, they then come back with ( well you have one option pick it up) then they put the phone down on me.

pretty decent mixed doner with chips. unlike other places for some reason the chips were really greasy from the doner meat but nothing that can't be handled by some Turkish spiced bread which is awesome if you've not tried it before.

Delicious, huge portion of fish, not greasy, and just the right amount of batter so you don’t get that slimy batter inside, stayed crispy all the way home! Also, rare to find crispy chips and not those sloppy soft ones. The owner was very accommodating with my questions and gave me some packets of vinegar on the side, as I like to put it in fresh! Great place and easy parking! Win!!

Excellent service and excellent food. They do kebabs, doner everything, aswell as lovely battered cod. The place is kept up to scratch very clean by Turkish family. I would definitely recommend.

Dont use online just eat not seen my order on 2 occasions when you call blue anchor just get told that the driver has it ?? But dont turn up also told to get in touch with just eat as its not ther problem ?? Why have a deliver service that you will not back or guarantee Will not be using blue anchor again and will make sure all my family and mates know

Guys I've never left u a bad review, but today the chips u served us were really bad.. Uneditable double cooked old chips..Tasted horrible they went straight in the bin..

Hands down the best chicken shish I have had in Levisham! I have been quite disappointed with my recent chicken shish delivery's so didn't really have too much expectation. I liked how I could choose my salad, The chilli sauce, the bread and the salad was perfect. I'll definitely be ordering again.

Is this place under new management? Really disappointing meal - chips weren’t nice, kebab slimy! The donner usually has some nice browned/crispy bits to it and is delicious!!! but it was wet white mush

Not sure why but tonight it wasn't up to their usual great standard, we normally order inside and they are usually brilliant quality, we've had one previous just eat delivery from them and it was lovely as usual but tonight not as much for some reason.

Fantastic cods and chips! I love a good curry sauce with my meal however most takeaways use the same generic 'jelly' very mild curry sauce. Not the Blue Anchor they serve a proper curry sauce with a lovely kick. I'll be back again and again. Keep up the good work.

I decided to treat my mother to fish and chips - a rare treat! All the other fish and chip shops closed - 3pm Saturday afternoon? Easy parking at the Blue Anchor. I didn't have to wait long. The best fish and chips - cod was lovely! I would definitely recommend!

The chips were amazing, and they were very quick and hot! The actual shop looks a little... unfinished? When I came in, I thought the chips wouldn't be nice because of how the shop is designed. Luckily I was mistaken.

Best pazarcik kebab in south l, MUST TRY

After a long journey we were in need of food and decided on Fish and Chips. We saw the Blue Anchor and saw the free parking - even better! We were disappointed that we could not eat in, but had the best fish and chips ever, sitting in the car. Never tasted chips so crunchy and yet fluffy. The cod was excellent also.

In this day and age virtually all fish and chip shops cook your order fresh. And I allways go here for the tasty chips and easy parking. The fish I have only ever found to be average but ok. But last Thursday I ate early around four, it looked and the wait suggested the order was being cooked fresh, but when I got home with a surprise treat for my hubby who’s a fan of here . Imagine my surprise when he moaned about the chips immediately. And all weekend. When chips are re cooked they lose the flavour completely and you also get the odd texture and flavour that was common when we were growing up. This is exactly the case with the order today. Just disgusting and re fried. And it’s not cheap these days either. I won’t ever be returning to the Blue Anchor, the quality of the chips was dire at best and a total waste of money.
