Absolutely stunning chicken shish wrap, in a Turkish bread. Brilliant value for money, delicious and absolutely lovely staff. Will definitely be back.

Nice kabab, good veggies, no messing about with the portions

The staff is very friendly, we ordered fish and chips, they served a salad as a compliment to the order, everything was delicious, the fish was excellent.

I ordered haddock and chips and cod and chips. He cooked it while I waited. It was horrible. Chips were flat and hard, full of hard bits. Fish batter horrible, very dark and oily. Best place for it, in the bin. Complete waste of money

Me and the family walked in to make an order to take Home with us for a Friday evening we’ve walked in made our order and the man who served us was very friendly and very funny with our little girl. One of them even gave her a free orange juice. Once we got home and opened all our food we couldn’t believe how much we got given with the price we have paid and then once we sat down to eat it, we couldn’t believe, how good the quality of it was for how cheap and how much quantity there was, would like to say also once we actually tasted the food it tasted like we were at a high-end Turkish restaurant. Quality of the food is 5 stars and a quantity of the food is also 5 stars. we will definitely be returning here regularly.

Absolutely joke the service I got on the phone when calling, I was missing items from my order so I called and explained, they then come back with ( well you have one option pick it up) then they put the phone down on me.

pretty decent mixed doner with chips. unlike other places for some reason the chips were really greasy from the doner meat but nothing that can't be handled by some Turkish spiced bread which is awesome if you've not tried it before.

Delicious, huge portion of fish, not greasy, and just the right amount of batter so you don’t get that slimy batter inside, stayed crispy all the way home! Also, rare to find crispy chips and not those sloppy soft ones. The owner was very accommodating with my questions and gave me some packets of vinegar on the side, as I like to put it in fresh! Great place and easy parking! Win!!

Excellent service and excellent food. They do kebabs, doner everything, aswell as lovely battered cod. The place is kept up to scratch very clean by Turkish family. I would definitely recommend.

But dont turn up also told to get in touch with just eat as its not ther problem ?? Guys I've never left u a bad review, but today the chips u served us were really bad.. Uneditable double cooked old chips..Tasted horrible they went straight in the bin..

Hands down the best chicken shish I have had in Levisham! I have been quite disappointed with my recent chicken shish delivery's so didn't really have too much expectation. I liked how I could choose my salad, The chilli sauce, the bread and the salad was perfect. I'll definitely be ordering again.

Is this place under new management? Really disappointing meal - chips weren’t nice, kebab slimy! The donner usually has some nice browned/crispy bits to it and is delicious!!! but it was wet white mush

Always order from here but the last 2 orders have been left disappointed, batter was very soggy and everything was bland.

Their food was not tasty. Chips were burnt and really hard. Quality was absolutely poor. The fish batter did not smell nice, it was so sticky. I also found something weird on the fish.

Not sure why but tonight it wasn't up to their usual great standard, we normally order inside and they are usually brilliant quality, we've had one previous just eat delivery from them and it was lovely as usual but tonight not as much for some reason.

Fantastic cods and chips! I love a good curry sauce with my meal however most takeaways use the same generic 'jelly' very mild curry sauce. Not the Blue Anchor they serve a proper curry sauce with a lovely kick. I'll be back again and again. Keep up the good work.

I decided to treat my mother to fish and chips - a rare treat! All the other fish and chip shops closed - 3pm Saturday afternoon? Easy parking at the Blue Anchor. I didn't have to wait long. The best fish and chips - cod was lovely! I would definitely recommend!

The chips were amazing, and they were very quick and hot! The actual shop looks a little... unfinished? When I came in, I thought the chips wouldn't be nice because of how the shop is designed. Luckily I was mistaken.

Best pazarcik kebab in south l, MUST TRY

After a long journey we were in need of food and decided on Fish and Chips. We saw the Blue Anchor and saw the free parking - even better! We were disappointed that we could not eat in, but had the best fish and chips ever, sitting in the car. Never tasted chips so crunchy and yet fluffy. The cod was excellent also.

In this day and age virtually all fish and chip shops cook your order fresh. And I allways go here for the tasty chips and easy parking. The fish I have only ever found to be average but ok. But last Thursday I ate early around four, it looked and the wait suggested the order was being cooked fresh, but when I got home with a surprise treat for my hubby who’s a fan of here . Imagine my surprise when he moaned about the chips immediately. And all weekend. When chips are re cooked they lose the flavour completely and you also get the odd texture and flavour that was common when we were growing up. This is exactly the case with the order today. Just disgusting and re fried. And it’s not cheap these days either. I won’t ever be returning to the Blue Anchor, the quality of the chips was dire at best and a total waste of money.

Ich liebe Fisch und Chips. Aber dieser Laden topt alles was ich kenne! Die Pommes, Home Made, überhaupt nicht fettig daumendick. Pommes die nach Kartoffeln schmecken, herrlich. Der Fisch -Kabeljau- cod, wunderbar! Ein Hauch von Backteig, sehr knusprig, keine Gräten und sehr zart, so wie Cod sein soll! Personal freundlich, zuvorkommend. Komme gerne wieder!!!

We had the pleasure to eat there two times when we came to visit our friends in London. The staff is very friendly, the prices reasonable, the food delicious and no one will stay hungry when leaving. Even if the place is a bit small, it's cosy and we enjoyed our food and the stay. We will be back!

Unexpectedly great experience coming here after a session bouldering down the road. Ordered a large mixed kebab and decided to eat in and the guys rolled out the biggest plate of food I've ever seen in my life! This will keep me going all week! Cheers fellas!

We have a lot of chippies in the Blue, but this is the only one we go to. We love their chicken doner and chips, but I have also enjoyed their kofte kebabs and lamb doner. Friendly service and neighbourhood feel. Chips are good, but used to be the best around. Not sure what they changed. Highly recommended anyway.

We phoned first and ordered our cod and chips. The phone was answered very quickly and the owner was very polite. The food was cooked fresh and tasted amazing. We had gone off of fish and chips as had a few stodgy takeaways this has now changed our minds. Lovely to walk to pick it up. Opposite is a little shop that does great wine. Nice evening. Xx

Great portions and tasty meals.

I've often wondered about this place as I've driven past many times, and for a while it was closed for months, I believe there was a family member that passed on which was the reason. Anyway, a couple of days ago I was returning from a trip over to Eastbourne, and saw it was open so thought I'd give it a go, for the first time. The first thing I noticed were the great prices - I opted for a large cod, £6.50, and small chips, £1.90, which I thought was great value, all to often in a lot of takeaways the chips are only offered in medium or large, not small, so this was welcome. The result: hot, freshly cooked cod and crispy chips, just enough, which were absolutely delicious and went down a treat. Pleasant staff and parking round the back. Will for sure come again.

Went there last night to order a serving of chips. First time I've been to a fish n chip shop that has chips pre made. Not sure if that's the usual process but the chips were no good. Chips tasted soggy yet still hot, which meant they were definitely kept warm and sitting there for a while. Definitely felt like it could have been better. Would recommend trying other fish and chip shops in the area over this place

One of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Recently refurbished, there's no smell at all! The fish is always super fresh and fried at the moment. Compared to some restaurants at the Borough Market or in Soho, this is a gourmet place. I tried also the mixed shish and I'm super impressed. Grilled on charcoal in front of me, both chicken and lamb were soft, juicy and we'll seasoned. Update 2020: they now offer delivery with deliveroo and Uber eats! Personally, my favorite fish and chips in London.

Fair prices and lovely food. Large chips and curry sauce for us! Chips were cooked nicely. Unique curry with their own spin that I really enjoyed. The only negative is that the curry sauce packaging didn’t survive the journey home but was still able to eat it. Edit to say: second visit! WOW the cod is so good! I got a sample of the chicken doner too, tasty! I’m so impressed with the quality of food and being cooked to order. Definitely a gem worth checking out if you’re in the area! Cash only!

Wonderful! Best of all the lockdown chippies we've tried in the last couple of months. Lazily ordered by Deliveroo into Southwark Park. Was hot on arrival, covered in salt and vinegar (as requested), delicious, filling and in a sturdy box. Curry sauce has tasty tanginess. Highly recommended! The only tiny issue is Deliveroo drivers on mopeds can't drive into the park (obviously) so that caused some issues. Teach me to be a lazy so and so.

Still haven’t setup contactless payment thereby demonstrating that dodging tax on cash payment is more important to Blue Anchor Fish & Chips than customers’ health and safety during pandemic.

Have had 2 takeaway meals from here during lockdown. The first was cod & chips. Fish was the best we’ve ever had from a fish & chip shop. Very fresh, very generous size. Chips were good too. Second time we had haddock, again very fresh, beautifully cooked. Highly recommend.

Simply the best kebab shop in South London. The cooking area is nice and clean. Staff are friendly and polite, service is first class. Portions of food are great value for money, and taste fantastic. They also serve fish and chips which is cooked fresh while you wait. This is also of a very high standard. I’ve never had to wait to be served as I always order over the phone and pick up 15 minutes later. I rate this place 10/10 all round!

My husband and I love coming here for a fish and chips supper. Yes food can take a while but they will only fry your food as you order. Very friendly service and we sometimes get given a biscuit or two while we wait!
