A lovely place with delicious food and pleasant service. We had mac n cheese, a BLT, a panini, very good experience.

Never been here before my wife and I popped in for some lunch and we were very pleased with the food and all staff where very friendly would highly recommend.

We always use this cafe in Battle but today @ 12-15pm walked in and my wife made her way to an empty table when the lady behind the counter said ! Sorry we are full ! and turned around facing the other way before I could respond with ! You have an empty table ! Good Luck to you in the future if you treat your locals like this .

Such a shame because this Cafe could be so lovely, perfect location but the staff are probably the grumpiest I’ve ever seen! We felt so uncomfortable & unwanted. Food is nice but the staff need to learn how to smile.

Fantastic quality food and service. We had a breakfast, sandwiches and eggs benedict. Everything was delicious 😋 highly recommended. We also had a baby in our party and a highchair was available for her. You will not be disappointed!

Lovely café, friendly staff and nice food which is very reasonably priced. I had a jacket potato with cheese & beans which came with a nice side salad and my hubby had fishfingers flatbread. We both enjoyed the food 😊

We popped in here as a little treat today for lunch. My husband had a steak flatbread and I had the humous & roasted vegetable flatbread, both were delicious and the service was really good. We will definitely return in the future.

Food was good. I've only given 4 stars as the scrambled egg was wet and I like mine dry. If you know, you know. Will definitely return soon. Staff really friendly.

Nice cafe for reasonably priced lunch I had a very nice quiche which was obviously homemade with coleslaw Mediterranean salad and side salad My partner had the prawn sandwich which looked lovely however it was a bit heavy on crunchy salad and low on prawns

I had a lunch dish consisting of pieces of breaded chicken on a handful of rocket on a flatbread smeared with chutney. The chicken was hard and stringy and couldn’t be cut with a knife. The manager was dismissive .

Nice popular eating place in Battle. Good helping of lasagna, nice cakes and dog friendly.

This is a great place to get meals throughout the day. We had a pre-wedding breakfast which was amazing. The menu offers wide variety and excellent choices. Using local suppliers and produce to create stunning meals.

Never had a bad meal here. Great for families, couples, friends gathering or solo. Menu is varied. Food quality is always top notch. Lovely staff. Highly recommend.

Although we went for lunch, my wife and I both had the small breakfast and it was very good. Well-presented, the portion size was ample and it was good value for money. Very friendly, helpful staff. Our first visit but we will certainly go again when we are in Battle. An added bonus was it is dog friendly.

I came here with my 14-year-old son to have some lunch. I had a prawn jacket potato, and my son had a coronation chicken jacket potato. My potato was barely cooked, and my son's coronation chicken looked like it had come out of a cheap supermarket pot. The salad portions were meagre, especially for the price. We were both left with uncomfortable stomachs. Also, we were not asked how our meals were at any point, so we could not express these concerns at the time. Overall, it was a bad experience which was terrible value for money. We will not visit here again.

Sorry to say our Take & scone were both v dry not nice my capachino was ok ish but tasted a lot better shame.

Poor vegan menu, ordered same dish twice, one was missing or had less ingredients the other had. Sauce missing. Pile of salad dropped on it as decoration or hiding missing ingredient, no oil or vinegar. Sorry but really need to rethink that dish and presentation and wooden board was last century fad. Will try again in 50 years, menu probably the same. Disappointing experience. Staffs to busy chatting than customer orientated

Hotel sent me here for breakfast. Mushrooms and tomato practically raw, bacon shoeleather-esque with no browning at all, and to top it off the only place in England I’ve been scolded like a child for trying to charge my phone. At least service was quick (though I wish they would’ve taken a bit longer to do it properly)

This is a lovely friendly cafe. It is a shame that smokers are allowed to sit outside the front door as the smell even reached us sitting at the back of the cafe by the garden. Perhaps you could review this and you will then see us back again.

Nice little cafe.. I had a little wait to get a diet coke, but it got quite busy after I arrived as there was a lot going on and it is a bank holiday! My food came out piping hot and really tasty. They had a varied menu, and I would go back to sample other items from the menu! There wasn't a huge amount of seating as only a small place, so quite a few people were turned away, but again, it was extremely busy in Battle. Friendly staff.

This was such a hidden gem on the high street. Food was lovely with really good choices, beautifully cooked and well-presented. Staff were helpful and friendly. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Enjoyed a lovely full gluten free breakfast here. Felt like a treat so I thought why not 😋. They even had dairy free spread for my toast.

Me, the wife and dog popped today for a late lunch. Service was good with attentive staff and the food was lovely. I had the sausage and mash, the wife had haloumi flat bread. No complaints from the dog either who was give a bowl of water and a biscuit.

Just a lovely place to eat and the food and service was fantastic.

I called the day before to book a table for six friends. When we arrived they had reserved a lovely table in the window. Staff were attentive and we weren't left waiting to order for too long. Drinks were delicious and all our different food orders came in a timely fashion. All food was fresh and tasty. Definitely recommend this place. Payment

Had lunch with two friends at Bonney’s today. We were glad we had booked a table as it is obviously popular. Lovely food and service with a smile in spite of the fact they were very busy. I had a quiche lorraine which had crumbly light pastry and tasted lovely and my friends had fish cakes which looked chunky and were enjoyed. Nice to see they are welcoming ( well behaved) dogs inside now. I shall be back soon with OH and canine.

Always enjoy visiting Bonneys in Battle. The staff are friendly and the food is always tasty. They have recently painted the exterior and it looks fab.

Nice little cafe, comfy etc. however hugely over priced food for what was given and poor service from waitressing staff - cutlery dumped on table, drink order wrong, took 20 minutes for a glass of water to arrive, and only after I got up and asked for it to be told “yes it’s just being “made” now”. At least just say you forgot! Looking at the menu online I was also over charged. Review is much more related to manners of staff rather than food - nice enough just very expensive for what it is!

My wife and I popped in for a break on our coach day trip for a slice of cake and cup of tea. The cafe is a delightful old worlde type serving lovely home made cakes by very friendly staff. A very pleasant experience that should not be missed when visiting Battle.

Lovely place to go for a tasty, hot, freshly cooked breakfast. Nothing negative to say! Hot drinks were good, the team serving were professional and friendly. A cost environment to sit in and clean . Great job guys! The fried bread was excellent!! 👍😁👏👏👏

I can’t believe how cafés like this can get away with selling coffee as bad as this, don’t ask for a flat white, you will get a tasteless Nescafé. The scones taste OK but two bites and its gone. We are local and like to use independent business but not ones like this.

I am responding the the review below stating the coffee is “Nescafé” and scones gone in one bite. I believe this could be meant for elsewhere due to having seen the own branded coffee, huge coffee machines & scones myself first hand! Just wanted to state the facts. I’ve even got photos of it all!

I had the quiche & salad off the specials menu & it was the best I've ever had, fresh, presented well, tasted fantastic. My partner had sausage & mash, sausages were massive & local. He couldn't finish it all, but he said it was the most tastiest. Gingerbread latte was so hot & perfect Staff were so friendly & service excellent, would definitely visit again

Super tasty lunchtime sandwich but service was a little slow! Prices were reasonable and the choices on the menu were extensive, including the specials. All sounded delicious and if anything like our salted beef open sandwich goes you will not be disappointed. Unfortunately there were not many smiles on offer, it all seemed a bit business like, in terms of service which was a pity. We all have days like that I suppose. Generally pretty good but a little more welcoming would have been nice.

A little gem. We had a lovely lunch here, flatbread with various toppings, delicious. Loved the chunky chips too. The service is was excellent, very pleasant staff who also helped by telling me I could pay for my parking from my table using Rinho as I had forgotten, this saved me getting a ticket! Would highly recommend, plenty of choice on the menu.

Offensively Average. Went here for breakfast and was left disappointed and bloated. Good quality sausage was perhaps the standout feature of an otherwise poor and slightly garlicky / oily breakfast. Eggs, black pudding and mushrooms were not enjoyable. Deco of the establishment appeals to more sickly, flowery type tastes, though some good watercolours by a local artist. In terms of the eggs Benedict, the less said, the better; it was cold. Service was average..... Chef was freindly. Cup of tea was excellent.

Lovely food a tad expensive but overall a nice place for lunch, lasagne was lovely 😊

A charming old market town building with pleasant staff and good service. We enjoyed a relaxed and pleasant meal.

Went in to Bonney's Thursday and had a lovely latte and lemon cake. Very friendly, great service one of the owners Rob came in and talked to every table including mine . Definitely be back very soon .

Had to wait to be seated although could see the free table 2 steps away. Long wait for order to be taken, even though half empty. Counter area not very conducive to serving. It was ok just not great. No jam with tea cake! Could do better!

Visited this lovely tea room while down from Scotland to visit family. What a find it was. Lovely little place with friendly staff. Was recommended the soup of the day which was butternut ginger and chilli soup absolutely delicious.

Went here this morning as part of a group of four were left standing at the door for ages before being acknowledged despite it being very quiet inside, maybe we should have left then as once seated things did not improve the lady who showed us to our table was unfriendly and basically said sit there!! Once our order was taken it took 45 minutes to arrive and was stone cold, overall the staff were unwelcoming and not once were we asked if everything had been ok despite most of the food being left! Definitely wouldn’t return or recommend. The funny part of this is there was an advert for a part time position advertised in the window saying the candidate must be friendly, welcoming and have a sense of humour obviously the current employees didn’t need these attributes 😞

Had the misfortune to go here for breakfast this morning the staff at best can only be described as unfriendly, unwelcoming and disinterested, the food took ages to be served was cold and my poached eggs were so hard I couldn’t eat them. There were also four dogs in the cafe that were having a barking match which didn’t help my overall opinion of this establishment.

Lunch stop for jacket potato. Good cakes too.

I have been to this cafe in Battle many times, food is home cooked and tasty, staff are nice and friendly. Would i go here again yes!

Excellent range of breakfasts and very good service

A loyal local customer met with Hostile customer service when placing an order. No consideration for children and what they require. Left and went to their sister establishment Battle Deli, where we found the owner on site. A complaint to him about the hostility only to find the same hostile response from him with no apology or consideration for my 3 year old daughter who was present. Hostile to the point where we were asked to leave due to my attitude!!!! My attitude we had just said we would be leaving!! Customer service training needed along with listening skills and diplomacy.

Top quality service and tea room tastiest! Had a good walk around the town centred on Bonney's. Lovely.

Had a lovely full English in the garden. Food was spot on!

Just had a fantastic lunch. Very tasty and good size portions. 2x fish & chips,1 baked potato with tuna I think it was and I had the b l t. 3 cappuccinos and a hot chocolate = £42 and smiles all round. Didn't have to wait to long either thankfully as I only had an hour parking. There is out door seating round the back which is ideal if you have dogs. We will defiantly be back again. 🙂

We visited Bonney’s in Battle during the Eat Out to Help Out scheme just to find that they had withdrawn from the scheme due to rude and aggressive customers; this was a shame if for no other reason than the staff we met were lovely and should not have been treated in such a way just because the café was busy.Whilst we did find that the service a bit slow, the cakes were large, moist and lovely and the drinks were nice (although the coffee was a bit weak for my taste).

4 of us had lunch here. We were extremely happy with their extra hygiene arrangements in view of the current situation. Plenty of hand sanitizer available. The tables were separated by screens and sanitized between customers. We had delicious food served by excellent staff. Well worth a visit.

We were actually planning to get some meal deal, but when we found out they have a back garden space and it is a beautiful sunny day we kind of say why not treat ourselves. The flat bread chicken is so good which my wife went for and I went for English breakfast with local sausages!

Yes...very nice. Party of four enjoyed our lunchtime snack. Flat bread dishes sumptuous. I had feta which was delish. Beef in the sirloin sandwich was a little tough. Always a dodgy cut to get right. Should be noted for that we had one of our members in a wheelchair and the staff accommodated us very well. Very COVID aware staff and we felt very safe.

Mixed experience Food was nice and tasty but took a while to come. Felt a bit neglected outside and when I went in to use the toilet, was confronted and felt super embarrassed. We didn’t feel welcomed. The STOP! WAIT! sign feels heavy handed for paying customers - not a great first impression

Really lovely food! I would however suggest that all staff should be wearing face masks from default as customers are encouraged to do so when coming into shops and it is about giving the right impression. Every other café I've been into has been operating in this way.

We were looking for somewhere to eat lunch in Battle along with our dog and discovered Bonney's on the High Street. We walked through the restaurant to the garden at the rear and were immediately brought a bowl of water for our dog...it was a hot day. They have a varied menu for light lunches, including sandwiches, paninis, flat breads, quiche and jacket potatoes.We both had the coronation chicken jacket potatoes, my husband had extra cheese on his and we both had large lattes and our bill was under £20 so very good value and the jackets were very tasty. Very nice staff too. We would certainly return.We also liked all the knitted decor around the garden!

We visited Bonney’s for breakfast. It was lovely, clean and the staff were friendly. I’d highly recommend it.
