I had a cheese and onion omelette. Excellent battle value for money and exceedingly tasty. Took out a slice of gluten-free sponge cake. So moist, so delicious. Amazing.

I would highly recommend Quayside Kitchen. The full English breakfast was beautifully laid out, the staff were very happy to change elements of the breakfast to personal taste. The premises where cozy and well presented. BUT BEST OF ALL... For me was the outstanding attention to help me and my electric power chair get into the building with a small portable ramp. They moved and rearranged tables and chairs to make sure we were all comfortably seated. Highly recommend the Quayside Kitchen.

Having finished our ramble along the coast at Rye we were looking for a place to eat and came across the Quayside Kitchen. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and two coffees. Although both the sandwiches and coffees were okay, I felt they were overpriced for what was served and we will not be returning if in the area.

We checked the menu before we sat down as my husband is vegan. The menu advertised a beyond burger so we thought great he can eat here. It was around £11 but that's what you expect to pay for beyond, they're not a cheap brand. However, when the food came out it was just breaded vegetable mush in a bun. When this was questioned we were told 'it's a veggie burger' I explained that on the menu it's advertised as a beyond burger and even showed them but was met with 'well that's the only one we do'. We couldn't be bothered with an argument and were hungry but this is false advertising. It's a shame because it's a sweet looking place and the other food was fine but we won't return. I'd suggest other veggies/vegans find somewhere else to eat.

Went for lunch, delay in producing our coffee (eventually arrived on the same tray as the drinks for another couple who arrived and ordered 10 minutes after us!) This however was nothing compared to the delay in producing the two panini we ordered. After waiting for 20 minutes my husband went to enquire, he was told they were just going in to the Panini toaster. 15 minutes later still no lunch! When they did arrive there was no apology for the delay. They weren't even busy when we ordered so I dread to think what it would be like in high season.

Well, well well !!!!!.....we spent all afternoon trying to find somewhere to have a nice but small lunch with our little poodle who is quiet and very well behaved and in truth we could not find anything, we settled for something not that good, we thought we'd like a breakfast before leaving next day for home and could not decide, just right near to where we were staying there was the Quayside Kitchen, so hungry we thought give it a try and WOW !!!!!!!....I ordered "sausage, egg and toast" which was cheaper than anywhere and as I found MUCH BETTER than I would have ever thought !!!!!!... a lovely beautifully presented large slice of toast with 2 sausages, 2 eggs, salad and coleslaw !!!!, best breakfast I have had for many a day, all the food that went out looked exceptional and even the owner / chef came out to ask how it all was....he was charming as was his daughter who served us, this place is well hidden but I would totally recommend it as you will not find anywhere in Rye who will serve food in the daytime who are better than the Quayside Kitchen, it's fairly well hidden but on my recommendation GO AND FIND IT !!!!!!!....WONDERFUL, many thanks to you, we will see you very soon.....

Not impressed, chose ham and cheese ploughman's, not cheap at all, when it came I was dissapointed.. 2 small cherry tomatoes, my husband got 4, so it's inconsistent. It came on a nice board, I got 2 small tomatoes, a pot of pickle, thin slice of ham, the cheapest mild Cheddar you can buy, it was oily in and too much of it, because it tasted like rubber, a few grapes, were not fresh, but too soft, slice of brie and butter that had melted before we could use it and although the 2 bits of bread were OK but dry.. And a small pork pie. A good ploughman's doesn't need to cost much to make half the amount of cheese that is a good mature flavour would have been so much better.. French stick would be nicer. It looked pretty but didn't taste pretty.. Shame really, at over £20 you expect something nice.

We were so pleased then to find the excellent Quayside Kitchen just a few minutes' walk away, and it was perfect for what we needed. It was so nice to sit outside and watch the world go by - the food was tasty and well-presented, and the service very friendly and efficient. We were really surprised how no one inside the shop was wearing face coverings given they are dealing with food. The young girl the counter was on her mobile phone for a while. When she noticed me she put her phone down and walked over to the counter and just glared at me. I asked her if she was serving and she nodded her head. I assumed that gesture meant she was. There was very little in the way of catering for vegan or anyone with food allergies. I ordered a LACTOS FREE dish for my husband which she served up with coleslaw made with lactose in it. My toastie was not the best because the ham inside was really thick and was presented on a napkin which was drenched in oil. So overall experience not good.
