"My new favourite Chinese takeaway".
First time customer here and I was so impressed that I just had to leave a review.
I thought I'd give them a go, as my regular in Shanklin is now so expensive.
The food here was top notch, 10/10, and very reasonably priced. I ordered on the website and collected 20 mins later. Friendly staff. Will definitely be coming here from now on.
my wife and I and our 2 dogs popped in here for a hot chocolate. I ended up with a piece of cake and that was lovely. the hot chocolate was superb. we're booked in for an afternoon tea before we go home to the mainland . definitely recommend . very friendly and dogs treated as well
We stayed last week at the mouse, have done many times over the last few years and don't look to stay anywhere else on the Island when we visit. The staff are just great, you have Tony who always and without fail gives a smile and a warm welcome each time. Deb who can't do enough for you, Alex the same...everyone fabulous. The menu is extensive and has pretty well what you need. The rooms, which I think we must have stayed in all of them by now are comfortable..! Thanks again and we'll see you later in the year. Ash & Emma.
We walked past this place the other day and noticed it was really busy, so decided to visit the next day.
It was like stepping back in time, in a good way, attentive staff serving good old fashioned food.
There are not many places to 😂hese days who sell lemonade floats
We got speaking to several locals and they idolise the place.
There is a gift shop upstairs which is worth a look
People were polite but seemed very unprofessional for the ratings it has. They got our drink orders wrong and food took 1 hour even though there was only four groups (a couple, my group of five, and two groups of four) in the restaurant. We were not noted about the delay beforehand or kept up to date of how long food would take and from the look and speaking to the two tables beside me, they weren't impressed either. 2 stars are for the refund as after an hour couldn't wait any longer as we had a ferry to catch so didn't even see our food. For a place that also does takeaway aswell as eat in, it should be quicker. I'd work on that rather chatting to your mates at the bar.
Nice tuna melt toastie and the weather was beautiful. We had a good table by the beach and could people watch. However , I noticed an odd looking woman with a shopping trolley full of bags of stuff and clothes on the next table. When she asked to use my mobile to ring a cab as her phone was broken … of course. Said yes but I dialled the number. She seemed a bit off and ordered a can from 6th May to take her to the airport. She appeared normal and spoke n an American accent and then she wanted to use my phone again to arrange her seating with the air line. I refused as I asked her about her phone and internet access. She changed her placid manner and started swearing at me and accusing me of cross examining her. I left immediately as I was shocked that this was allowed to happen on a busy afternoon in front of the kiosk. I don’t want to eat there again in case this should happen again. Beware of this homelessness woman as I believe she has mental challenges and is a danger to others who sit near her.
We had the most wonderful stay at The Hambrough. We had both rooms with the balcony’s and they were beautiful. So relaxing to sit out on in the morning and evening. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We had a delicious breakfast both days and felt welcomed and well looked after by all staff. I would love to stay again one day.
We wanted a full English breakfast. All cafes were closed in the mornings. Then we came across Barnabys. Just what we were looking for and a real treat. Delighted....
First time and last time dining here. Absolutely awful. Calamari wasn't fresh. My salmon was the thinnest piece of salmon I've ever seen, like an 1/8 inch thin. It was also way too overseasoned. Broccoli was also overseasoned and straight up moosh. Seriously disgusting. Potatoes were just ok, but a relief from all the other seasoning. I get that it's a cajun restaurant, but they really dumped on the seasoning. So gross! It was by far one of the worst meals I've ever had. Felt like I was eating salmon at a Chili's, which I don't do since trying salmon there many years ago. Couldn't pay me to go back to Harry's.
Have eaten in many pubs and restaurants in the IOW over the years, but this is definitely in the top 5.
Food is excellent, good quality produce used and large portions.
I had the steak pie, so much steak and the best pastry. Served with choice of potatoes and fresh veg.
Burgers were also excellent.
Great service and food brought out freshly cooked and hot.
Dog friendly.
Gets very busy so we booked a table.
Would highly recommend this pub/restaurant!
Lovely lunch in the sun with a mocha. Good value for money with friendly and attentive staff.
Having last been here some 15 years ago I was a little worried that it may have gone downhill. This concern was un-warranted. Great place.
