We stayed last week at the mouse, have done many times over the last few years and don't look to stay anywhere else on the Island when we visit. The staff are just great, you have Tony who always and without fail gives a smile and a warm welcome each time. Deb who can't do enough for you, Alex the same...everyone fabulous. The menu is extensive and has pretty well what you need. The rooms, which I think we must have stayed in all of them by now are comfortable..! Thanks again and we'll see you later in the year. Ash & Emma.

Nice Inn in a beautiful location. Food is of average quality, our dinner platter was fine. We spent the night here. It was very noisy (inherent to an older building) but unfortunately not clean. Cobwebs and hair in the drains and dusty blinds, dirty bathroom floor. Staff nice and helpful. Bed clean but (too) soft. Breakfast standard.

Came here for the first time today after hearing amazing things from family and friends. Came in with my partner for a date and ordered 2 the ultimate bacon and cheese burgers (£17 each) as we were starving, only to be severely disappointed and waste half of our meals… The buns were dry and grainy, with no sauce, only a soggy salad at the bottom of the burgers, the patties were thin and similar to that of a rustlers supermarket burger, the chips were cold, with half of them undercooked and the rest burnt (I’m not sure how that even happens?)… we paid extra for cheese on the chips which didn’t even taste like cheese, it was oily and plastic like and the onion rings both in the burger and as a side with the dish, were sopping with oil and made us feel ill. A real disappoint, to which the servers werent phased by, no one offered us cutlery and we weren’t asked about our food at all during eating. All in all, very saddening.

Lovely pub with large garden. Fortunately it was nearly empty outside on my visit, which made for a nice environment to have a bit of food and a few drinks; with views in the distance of the south wight coast. The play area was a good size and kept the kids happy. The food was lovely. They only had one ale on during my visit, but everything else was great.

Love it here, the Wight Mouse Inn has good food & a wide selection of drinks (they now, thanks to the good people at 'YATES' have their own ale!!!) Nice gardens, well kept paths & the scenery is great! The back of the Inn looks out over part of the English Channel. There's a park for children & plenty of parking (even an EV charger either side in each car park!)

Real friendly people, great atmosphere and really accommodating. Came to stay the night after a long hike with more the next day! Was running late for last call for food, after some confusion even though it was 10 to 9, a few ladies made no fuss and said it was completely fine. Even when I asked for some puddings a little while after, it wasn’t a problem for a lovely lady. We felt properly seen to and taken care of and that’s what makes a visit stick. We’ll definitely be back here whenever we come over to the island!

Really hate to moan, but we visited yesterday for some food, having been many times before. We knew what to expect, fairly priced food, great portions, an above avg quality. Yet this visit at a off peak time for the day, an season really, we met what felt like staff that just wanted you money. food that was below avg, served so the 1st persons dinner was stone cold by the time 4th persons came out. a set of chips served 15 mins later "ordered together so why the varied arrival" when questioned about the 1st meal now being cold, was clearly zapped in microwave certainly given us second thoughts about a return now

Ah, the joys of a bank holiday escape—a time for relaxation, exploration, and in my case, a masterclass in how not to manage a hotel booking. My adventure began innocently enough: a couple of nights on a charming island I thought, a competitive rate, and gluten-free breakfast options. As someone who can’t risk a crumb of gluten, this was as good as finding a golden ticket. I joyfully entered my credit card details, feeling quite chuffed about the "book now, pay later" deal. What could possibly go wrong? Well, it turns out, quite a lot. You see, my friends were coming along for the ride, and as fate would have it, I’d nabbed the last room on the hotel’s website. Being the considerate companion I am, I gave them a ring to see if they had any secret rooms stashed away. Amy, the ever-helpful staff member, confirmed they could accommodate my friends, albeit with a room hop after the first night. No big deal, right? They were happy, so I left them to arrange their accommodations. Fast forward to the next morning, when I received a call from a chap named Alex, who had the delightful task of informing me that the room I’d booked—directly, mind you—was no longer available. Cue the dramatic record scratch. Was this a joke? I booked directly on their website, not through some dodgy third-party site, so how could my room vanish into thin air? When I enquired about alternatives his replies were not helping, Alex’s response was a masterclass in customer disservice, effectively: "Not much I can do, mate, I'll check with the guys that run the site." And just like that after being challenged, he hung up—clearly a man of few words and even fewer solutions. In all my years of gallivanting around various hotels, I’ve never encountered anything quite like this. Thank heavens we hadn’t shelled out for ferry tickets yet, or this debacle could’ve been very costly. Needless to say, my friends also cancelled their booking faster than you can say “bank holiday,” so the hotel lost not just one but two reservations, in fact not sure what to think anymore. They received a polite apology in writing; I, however, was treated to a deafening silence. The cherry on top? Later that day, I received a cheery automated email: "A warm welcome awaits your arrival!" Oh, the irony. For anyone else considering this hotel, a word to the wise: double-check that your room won’t pull a disappearing act, and always use a credit card for bookings over £100 to cover your bases. As for me, I’ll be steering clear of this establishment—preferably at high speed.

We stayed here on st Patrick’s evening for the dine and stay for my birthday… and just wow! The best overnight and dining experience my husband and I have ever had the privilege of having! Incredible price for the service we received, our room was immaculate and the view… chefs kiss! Including breakfast which was so thought out and attentive we couldn’t have asked for more! A huge shout out though goes to the staff! Every single one were outstanding… Mr mouse in the evening checked in on us and chatted, the young girl was super friendly/professional and just the right amount of banter but our 5stars go to Deb! Table service in the evening full of laughter and vibrancy… and come the morning it was still there! Even singing me a happy birthday! This light of a woman deserves a bonus/a raise and a bloody good holiday! Thankyou to all of you for making us feel incredibly special, thought after and apart of your wight mouse family! Breakfast in the morning was well cooked and it was a nice touch to have the continental selection as well. Everytime we come to the island we always visit the White Mouse Inn for food, we have never had a bad meal (my partner has been coming to the island for 15 years, I think that speaks for itself). Had a meal with family and friends, it's a lovely building and it's dog friendly, which is a plus for us. However, the food wasn't as previous reviews described. The beef stew was very salty and lukewarm, the crackling for the pork was soft and obviously reheated. The lasagna is not recommended, it was a pot of grease with lasagna. I was the lucky one of us to have a hot meal, a vegetarian burger. The chefs definitely need to taste their food but the waiters were welcoming and lovely. They also listened to our complaints, which we don't really give out.

Food was okay, daughters pizza was rock solid in areas, and luckily didn’t break her baby teeth. However the Mac and cheese was lovely and fish pie was lovely with a presentation of seasonal vegetables to accompany it. The service was poor in all honesty, the gentleman who served us was very moody from start to finish despite cleaning up behind ourselves and not complaining about food. He didn’t seem bothered to be there. It may have just been an off day in all fairness, but every encounter you have with a customer affects a business positively or negatively and create a pattern and impact to the footfall of the establishment. The cherry on top though is location and garden; excellent play area for small and slightly older children. My kids absolutely loved it. So 3/5 for this occasion. I wanted to love it, but sadly I could only give it 3 out of 5. I had the veggie pie with chips and veggies, and straight away I saw the mange tout was mouldy ( see pictures). This put me off especially as the pie contained the same veg including the monge tout as it was served with which is odd in itself. On a less yuk note husband had asked for no dressing and his salad had dressing, who ever had slopped it on had done a good job as it was hard to find any of it dressing free. When the waitress came to ask if everything was ok, we said about dressing and I showed her the mouldy monge tout, she said she would mention it to the chef. And that was the last we heard, needless to say we left 15 mins later for me to eat somewhere else, without mouldy veg.

Always good service , good food at a sensible price too . Always eat here whenever I visit the island . Never stayed there but if the rest of the pub is anything to go by , I’m sure it’s good 👍

Amazing views, from some point inside and all of outside. Tasty food and friendly staff. Plenty of places to park at the back and the electric car charging point is a huge positive. We've been before and we'll return in the future.

Lunch on Saturday 29th June. I had the Chicken Supreme from the specials board. I really hope that you put this on more often. It was really lovely. Highly recommend. Never had a bad meal at the Wight Mouse.

Nice tuna melt toastie and the weather was beautiful. We had a good table by the beach and could people watch. However , I noticed an odd looking woman with a shopping trolley full of bags of stuff and clothes on the next table. When she asked to use my mobile to ring a cab as her phone was broken … of course. Said yes but I dialled the number. She seemed a bit off and ordered a can from 6th May to take her to the airport. She appeared normal and spoke n an American accent and then she wanted to use my phone again to arrange her seating with the air line. I refused as I asked her about her phone and internet access. She changed her placid manner and started swearing at me and accusing me of cross examining her. I left immediately as I was shocked that this was allowed to happen on a busy afternoon in front of the kiosk. I don’t want to eat there again in case this should happen again. Beware of this homelessness woman as I believe she has mental challenges and is a danger to others who sit near her.

We had the most wonderful stay at The Hambrough. We had both rooms with the balcony’s and they were beautiful. So relaxing to sit out on in the morning and evening. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We had a delicious breakfast both days and felt welcomed and well looked after by all staff. I would love to stay again one day.

We stopped by this tea house/restaurant whilst exploring Ryde. It's a little eatery opposite the train station. We found a table and ordered their Cream Tea. Their sultana scones were moist on the inside and lovely. We also tried their plain scones although slightly smaller than their sultana scones it was flaky, moist and lovely too.

We wanted a full English breakfast. All cafes were closed in the mornings. Then we came across Barnabys. Just what we were looking for and a real treat. Delighted....
