I had a seasonal special, Shrimp & Scallops Evangeline. The shrimp and scallops were fresh and perfectly seasoned, not too spicy. The sauce was light and flavorful.

Never a bad meal and drinks. I recommend Harry's to everyone. Great food and service

Where to begin… this definitely a restaurant that you feel as if “not in Florida”. Though there was mix of reviews, it’s always best to experience the flavors for yourself. My wife and I had the Gumbo (very comforting), Ahi tuna (made to perfection), my wife had the Lobster Risotto with Flounder and she absolutely loved it, I had the New Orleans Prime rib with rice and beans (a definite “order again”). Our waitress Ariadne was great and her customer service was above and beyond (thank you). Plenty of seating, the parking lot is not much of a distance, the ambience was very chill and relaxing, the only downfall was the wait time for the food but the quality and flavor of it all, made it worth the wait. Hello, My first time visiting Harry's and it was spectacular. As it was my birthday weekend out of town camping, we wanted good seafood for dinner. The location in town and customer service was spot on. Sat at the bar and got hooked on drinks specials and the blue crab claws. And the gift card. Our bar host was the best I've had at any restaurant. Honestly. I work in HR as a customer service manager and Shaquella (spelling) was very attentive to our questions. Beautiful smile . She picked up on my gluten allergy before I mentioned it. She took care of us and others , her staff in delegating a proper flow of happy hour, food safety and orders. If she's not a regional manager now, she should be. The best example of a leader. Heather and Brian

The chef went REALLY heavy on the green onion "garnish"... But once I picked it all off, the red beans and rice with smoked sausage was delicious! It was a HUGE portion that I could only eat less than half of... Winchester though, because I ate the rest for lunch today 😊

One person in our party had been seated at our table. When the rest of us got there, the hostess just told us to go in and find her. She literally would not take The four remaining people to the table. Very unprofessional Ordered the crab crusted redfish Royale. The corn was very chewy and hard in places. It was awful. The Red wine was served Warm. I expected better. We were there a year ago and it was outstanding. I don’t know what happened. The best thing we had was a blueberry banana cheesecake. That was outstanding.

Nothing special here. Food was ordinary. Shrimp scampi was nothing I would order again. No taste to shrimp. Instead of being white they were translucent. Pasta and sauce were good. Fried shrimp was tasty and fries had a wonderful taste. Atmosphere was nice as it is an old building and tastefully decorated. We’re going to take seafood loving guests there but won’t.

My grouper wasn't cooked all the way, making it impossible to even cut with a butter knife and fork. Our Boudan appetizer did NOT hit the spot nor taste right... something was off... The waiter and manager that night did a fantastic job helping us out, correcting the bill after removing my grouper, and even gave us dessert on the house. After their commitment to service, I would normally leave my opinion at their door and not post a review. HOWEVER, at 2am that night, my 6 year old daughter vomited her entire meal up in our hotel room, confirming further there were food preparation issues. I do NOT recommend this restaurant.

Always love eating here, the food is always good and you get a very generous portion for your money. I would recommend the jambalaya it's amazing everytime.

We decided to stop here to eat because of all the positive reviews on how delicious the food is. The food took almost an hour to arrive to our table. We ordered seafood fondeux, crab soup, shrimp po boy, rib eye, fish tacos, and fried chicken sandwich and all our entrees were lacking flavor and over priced for the quality/ quantity you get. Restaurant was dirty and the bathrooms did not have toilet paper and were dirty. I took the time to review the restaurant to save someone else from making the same mistake by being misled by the positive reviews.

Harry's seems to always have great food. We've yet to be disappointed

The food was good and fair priced but the service was awful the waiter threw our food on the table rolled his eyes at every request. And he didn’t even tell us his name so I can’t complain about it but I do not recommend

On Saturday, Oct 19, 2024 we were there for the early dining special between 4pm-6pm. I ordered my usual chicken dinner with a delicious sauce with rice (instead of grits). In the past I have ordered this and it never disappointed EVER until 10/19/24. The chicken texture was off and so was the taste. I tried to force myself to eat it, but I couldn't. It was horrible. However, we had a nice young man who took care of us and was very accommodating. I have no idea what went wrong in the kitchen on that day. Yuck!

Went for lunch and my husband had fish tacos. Just very little fish. I had the fried chicken sandwich which was good. Nothing special. Taking it off our list for a while.

Food was good. Staff helpfull. Service fairly quick. Very expensive in comparison to other restaurants of the same level. Long wait to be seated. Not my choice of restaurant. Everything is ordered al LA carte and expensive.

What's the point of having a phone if it never gets answered?

Our party of 9 arrived and were seated shorty after and our Super Server Ashley greeted us warmly and asked a few questions and took our drink orders . After a few minutes she returned and correctly delivered our drinks .We then ordered our appetizers and meals . Our appetizers and food was brought out and everything was correctly delivered. Our meals were very good and we all enjoyed our time there. I hadn’t been there for many years and thought that all the food would be spicy or all have a Cajun spice or flavor. I was wrong and loved the many selections of food that had such delicious flavors . We will be back and I’m looking forward to bringing my man here! Thanks Ashley and everyone who made this experience so great! Also , on Saturday’s it’s free street parking in the Ocala square !!

We arrived at this Harry's restaurant while coming back from Orlando. It is located in downtown Ocala. Our server (Madeline) was great and helped us with everything we ordered. We started with the fondue as an appetizer. My wife ordered shrimp and grits and I ordered fish tacos blackened. They were really good. I recommend this place especially for seafood. We went Sunday as they were opening. If you are trying to beat the crowd arrive early.

Staff member very rude for no reason. Turned on my family, upset my family in particular my daughter who has special needs, Staff member is aware of my daughters surcumstances. This was done in front of other customers.Totally unaceptable when all we wanted was a quiet drink together.

Food is consistently tasty and portions are right on. The atmosphere is fun with New Orleans music themed art. Mostly the servers are great but the hostess interaction can vary.

The andule crusted grouper is hands down an orgasim in your mouth and the budineballs are fonaminal along with the oreo benyeas, this place is top notch a must stop in

We had a great meal at Harry's while visiting Ocala! Redfish Royale, baked scallops, crab claw, she crab soup, all amazing. Great depth of flavor and the cocktails were great as well. Our server, Kaylee was sweet, knowledgeable, and attentive.

The food was way over priced for the quality and small quantity. The male server on sep, 13, 2024 at approximately 4pm was very rude. The other guest I was with, we decided to switch seating areas and I'm glad we did. I'd say the atmosphere was terrible because the first table we were sat was extremely small. I had never experienced such a small seating area.

Haley was our server the first time and returned, wanting her as our server because she was on point with everything. Because of her skills, I will return.

My first experience at this Unprofessional establishment.First red sign was we were not greeted by the waitress ,the grouper fish was cutted into 4 small pieces (fried extremely hard ) fries were old & dark .I was brought a new order .I requested a manager after the waitress threw the straws on the table and it landed on the bread in the basket and one on the table ,the manager from the kitchen came out , he was rude and abrupt !!!! The waitress never asked to refill our tea and when she came to pickup the dishes, that's when she gave a half ass apology. A very Racist , unprofessional,overcooked frozen seafood ,and dreary atmosphere.My date picked this place ,I normally don't patronize businesses where the only place I see people of color is in the kitchen and nobody in in the restaurant .... that's a sign to me period the food is not tasty nor is it a nice place to dine !!!!!! Check your management and staff Please avoid dining there if you visit Ocala Florida

Started with 5 of us but expanded to over a dozen but they coped well. All down for the car show. Comfortable, relaxed bar with decent ales.

Decided to take my wife here for a late dinner. Normally we would avoid restaurants that serve spicy food, but took a chance anyway. We arrived shortly before 7 pm on Sunday night and were seated right away. The restaurant was not packed, but the noise level was a little above what we would tolerate for a nice quiet meal together; however, we decided to try anyway and the noise died down after a short time. The music was pleasant and enjoyable, at a comfortable level. We were greeted by the waitress, Nina, after a couple minutes who took our drink order and then returned with recommendations. We both had a side salad and I ordered my Caesar without croutons. When I received the salad and started eating, I noticed it had an abundance of croutons and instead of complaining, just removed them and gave them to my wife. My wife ordered the French Market Pasta, and I, the Pasta Chicken Louisianne. Both arrived immediately after finishing our salads, which I would have preferred to wait a couple minutes before starting the main meal. Her meal had no spice, which was good and what the waitress stated, and the serving size was more than adequate, as she needed to wait a bit before finishing. Mine on the other hand seemed a bit less than hers, but cost less and had just enough spice to straddle the line between flavorful and too spicy. Both meals were very good. After waiting a while, we decided to order the Banana Creme Brulee, which was very small, but extremely good. All in all, we really enjoyed ourselves. The staff were all very cordial and offering a military discount didn't hurt. The only recommendations I would make would be to ditch the kiddie cups and replace them with adult size drinking cups, as I drink a lot of soda and the waitress had to make five trips, just for my refills and three for my wife's. Second, is to wait a couple minutes before bringing the main meal, so patrons can have some time to digest the salad, or appetizers, before starting the main course. People like ourselves don't like to feel rushed, as we are retired and prefer to move at our own pace.

I recently dined at Harry's Seafood Bar and Grille in Ocala, and overall, it was a great experience! We started with their famous crab cake and calamari as appetizers. The crab cake lived up to its reputation, being flavorful and well-prepared. The calamari was also good, although it was a little on the salty side for my taste. Still, both appetizers came out quickly and were served warm, which was nice. For the main course, I had the blackened mahi mahi with specialty rice and veggies. The fish was cooked perfectly, with a nice blackened seasoning that wasn't overpowering. It paired well with the rice and veggies, making for a satisfying dish. To drink, I had a margarita, which was refreshing and well-balanced. The service was prompt and friendly, the inside of the restaurant has nice lighting and the interior was rustic adding to the overall enjoyable experience. I'd definitely recommend Harry's for a casual, tasty seafood meal!

Ten out of ten experience there! I went for my 21st birthday with two of my family members and everything about it was great!! They have wonderful food, great staff, and top notch drinks! I normally don't eat fish, but my fiancee got a salmon that I tried and loved! Everything food wise was to die for.

I forgot how much i love harry’s. I first had harry’s in gainesville, which was also the first time i had creole food. shrimp and grits is my go to, definitely need to add on the sausage. the other star of the show is definitely the bread and butter! the jambalaya is mid in my opinion, but you might like who knows

Flew into Orlando. Drove to Ocala. Before checking into the hotel, my friend and I wanted stop at Harry’s for my birthday. Harry’s was highly recommended. Bad decision to come here. My friend said “ it’s her birthday”. We sat at the bar and the dark haired female bartender replied with “ what are you drinking?”. We ordered dinner. Food was good. Service was not. Not once did she ask if the food was good. Not one ask about anything. She gave us the check. No ´happy birthday’ acknowledgment, no smile, no ´thanks for coming in’, or do you want dessert. We went to use the restroom before leaving the restaurant ´. She looked right at us. Not one comment to thank us or a ´goodnight’. I am moving to the area and planned on being a regular. Not happening. Rude, unwelcoming. Disappointed.

Arrived at 4:30 pm with baby stroller for pre dinner and asked to be seated at high top area. Hostess seated and after being seated was asked to move as manager did not approve of stroller. The area suggested had no easy access with stroller and high seat was not offered. Not family friendly and went across the street to Cantina Tex-Mex. This establishment was much more accommodating.

We sat at the bar and I ordered the shrimp and scallops baked with the taso ham, grit cakes and collard greens. They gave me 3 gigantic grit cakes , under cooked blacked scallops and shrimp. I was disappointed. However my husband went in the bartender recommended dish which was the red fish with the crab cake, corn matche and smashed potatoes. It was good but not great. They never asked how our food was or offered bread and butter like he did with the couple next to us. We were hungry and tired from driving all day so my husband ate all the fish and seafood. I left 2 gigantic grit cakes and was still hungry because I was not going to eat undercooked shellfish. The place was packed at 9:30. But to me it is a tourist trap and young people looking for small craft cocktails that are expensive for the pour they are giving you with the alcohol. I will not go back

A Solid Seafood Spot This seafood restaurant offers a nice mix of classic and creative dishes. The free bread was a delightful start to the meal. The fired grouper was cooked to perfection with a crispy exterior and tender flesh. The jambalaya was flavorful and spicy. The service was also top-notch, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The fired oreos were an unexpected delight – definitely a must-try!

By far, this was one of the best restaurants I have been to in my life. The service was phenomenal and the food and drink was absolutely delicious. Harry's is doing their business right and worth every penny spent.

Wow... I'm an Argentine tourist and I went all week. Cheap and very good service. What bothers me is waiting when there are many empty tables. I don't understand your process. But he is an excellent CHEF. I WILL RETURN EVERY YEAR.

Usually go to the Gainesville Harry's but had to meet a friend in Ocala so stopped in there. The food was fantastic! Whoever the chef is, they did a great job. I had the Jambalaya and it was excellent! Actually better than the Gainesville restaurant which is very good also. Wife and I will try them again, because going to Ocala is only about 10 minutes longer than going to Gainesville. We want to try the other dishes to see if they are as excellent as this time. Looking to try the Chicken Louisiana this next time. The Banana Fosters was just okay so we will pass on that this next visit and try something else.

The food was terrible. Not going back there. The rice and beans tasted very weird, the Nola rice was sticky and bland, the chicken dish I had had 2 grilled chicken strips (for an adult meal???) with a grits cake that was super bland. The waitress was great, but that was the only good thing about this meal.

I am rating a meal that I ordered off of Uber eats. First of all they did not send my dessert. Secondly this place used to be so good now the portion sizes are teeny tiny and my food arrived cold even though I was the first delivery and didn't have to wait. what a shame like I said before this place used to be so good now I can't say that anymore.

Ordered the blackened red snapper and Nola rice. The fish was delicious but I wish it was a thicker filet. The rice was fluffy and lightly seasoned. I expected some spice! It was good, but not what I expected. We also ordered the Seafood Dip which came with a few toasted slices of baguette and several thin crackers. The dip was full of chunks of seafood, especially shrimp. It was tasty but I'd rather have more baguettes than crackers. Our waiter was fantastic!! 5 stars for him. Wonderful, fast and friendly service. Next time I will order the Shrimp and grits. I know that is phenomenal! We came for dinner early, no wait for a table. Bonus it was Happy Hour! $7 drinks. 😁 I loved the meal but for the price I feel the filet should have been more substantial. We will be back.

We were table of four and we all loved our food as usual. I had the stuffed shrimp with collard greens. My husband had the creole, the other two at our table had seafood, gumbo and sausage and red beans. Everything was delicious. I recommend all four dishes.

Only the strong survive. Ive made 5 visits before posting this. In years past Harrys was the best but now they have started cutting corners with higher pricing that includes watery ranch dressing that takes a salad down a few notches especially when you paid $23 for it. At that price it really should include cheese too. The Chicken tenders entree is not enough to fill someone up unless I got severely cheated. Very surprised at the small portion. Many Inconsistency’s in other dishes even when asked to please make sure they are the way they should be. Harrys seems to be going the way of most others and not having a proper standard that is adhered to 100% of the time. Anyone who really understands food preparation and good service can start a restaurant these days and mop up the cash. People are just plain tired of being gouged and getting less at the same time.

Waited fifteen minutes for a waitress she never came manager so husband hand and came over after walking pass us and stayed the waitress was taking an order and she would be with us he went to get us waters never received the water because he never came back we stopped here on our way thru Ocala it is obvious black people are not welcomed unless you’re serving . Never had this experience at any other Harry’s Seafood while traveling.
