Harry's Bar and Brasserie in Isle of Wight

Have gone many times over the years. Menu never changes. This time I tried shrimp and scallops new Orleans. 4 scallops and maybe 5 or 6 tiny shrimp surrounded by grit cakes.Grits made up most of the meal. The kale dish was far too salty. I originally went here due to recommendations to try their chocolate bread pudding. People were going there just because it was so good. For some unknown reason they took it off the menu and although numerous customers asked for it back per the wait staff,the chef would not put back on the menu. Most of the food is good but after a few years the menu gets boring. The one item no one ever tired of was the bread pudding. If you have a demand for an item, why wouldn't you put it back on the menu??

Wow, we had an amazing time at Harry’s! The food was awesome, the service was good, and the atmosphere was terrific. The portions were generous and the flavor was so, so good. We will definitely be back!!!

I had crab cakes. The manager walks to each table assuring that the service and food are made to the customer's liking. We had heard it was a local favorite restaurant and we add our vote to that. Enjoy.

The food is good, but the 90 minute wait makes it a lousy experience.

I bought shrimp scampi. It's just butter. I ordered a burger it was plain and didn't come with cheese. I ordered calamari and it is hard as rock. It's like chewing on a dog's bully stick. What a waste of $54.80. I'll have to make my own sauce for these expensive noodles and handful of shrimp. I'll need to put a ton of condiments on this burger and the calamari is not even edible. it's so over cooked it's chewy and hard to bite into. Terrible. The only good thing about this place is Jordi the young man that attended me and took my order.

Have loved this place for decades.

In Ocala for a week, ordered walk-out from here. I'd prefer to give them a 3.5 stars. I got Pasta Chicken Louisianne dish. The meal was just okay, they didn't actually toss the pasta with the sauce which I found particularly odd; the sauce was in one corner so I had to shake the container to get the sauce spread over the pasta. The sauce in general was just okay, not spicy at all which I kind of thought it would be given the "Louisianne" in the name but it was cream based so perhaps that was on me. The grilled chicken was delicious! Tender and tasty, very enjoyable much more-so than the pasta. They gave bread with the meal which I didn't expect but it was more or less a 6" sub roll, yum sure the same bread they use for sandwiches. I also found that choice of bread very odd but it was fine. The herbed butter along with the bread was quite nice and enjoyable. The inside of the restaurant seemed like a pretty chill vibe and the service, from what I saw inside briefly, seemed solid. However I would not be happy (personally) sitting at one of their hightop in between the booths and bar, very odd seating arrangement but likely their only choice given the space, fair enough. I would for sure try this place again, perhaps id enjoy the food more eating at the restaurant. Like I said, I would prefer to give them a 3.5 star from this experience but the food I had didn't quite give 4 star vibes.

Great seafood dishes at reasonable prices. Had the seafood fondue which was very rich. Crab cake dinner for me and chicken and shrimp creole for the Mrs. All Great. Would recommend & come again.

Waited 10 minutes at the bar even though there was only 1 other patron finishing up???? Food was okay, but won't be back.... bar server never checked on me and let everyone know she was leaving at 3pm. Had to get someone to serve me another drink. Then she told someone she'd been here for 5 years? GO ELSEWHERE

Went to celebrate a family birthday. Had Kari as our server. She was FANTASTIC! Made the whole visit wonderful! I will definitely request her next time we visit.

Whenever we have guests here in Ocala from out of town, Harry’s is the one dining spot we are sure to take them! Always excellently prepared and consistent food, and superior service. Their Keylime pie is the best we’ve had!

Great place for Cajun food. It's a popular place so be prepared to wait a bit for a table, but it's worth the wait. Menu selection is broad, there were several dishes I want to try. Portions were ample and very tasty. Service was excellent and prices were reasonable. We will be back

We typically visit the St. Augustine location but this location was amazing too. The food and drinks were amazing. The location is much easier to get parking and get to than the St Augustine location. The only complaint I have is our server left during the middle of our meal and we weren’t told until near the end of the meal. But the person who took over was great!

Downtown Ocala, first time at Harry's. Fancy atmosphere, came on a Thursday in the afternoon. Quick service not too busy. The food was ok, had a taste of the jambalaya and was not my favorite. The chicken and shrimp creole did not have enough rice for the amount of sauce there was. The andouille crusted grouper was my dish and favorite along with the oreo beignets. The boudin balls was good. The service and atmosphere was great.

Horrible service, bland food, and rude bartender. Never going back.

Came with the family after Christmas. Very loud but very warm atmosphere with people laughing and the staff being attentive. The food came nice and hot and we weren’t disappointed. The crab cakes are a family fave but I tried the grouper fingers and it was very juicy and the tartar sauce made it yummier.

Second time I've been and this place is outstanding!!!

Will not be back. Have been there many times and your food is just not worth it. It actually sucks. Had Jambalaya on Sat 1-4-2024. It was served almost at room temperature and to have it heated up. Mostly rice, very little meat in the dish. My wife had scallops and shrimp. No hot either and was disappointed as well.

It's been a long while since I've had such a good experience dining out. Our young server, Aliyah, didn't miss a beat, keeping drinks filled, clearing dishes as they were finished, checking in just frequently enough. She cheerfully accommodated all our requests and brought extra crostinis for the dip going home and bread and butter to go with the entree leftovers. The food was excellent, we had a few dishes but the standouts were the crisp and cold salads with the best homemade blue cheese dressing, and the crab cakes were amazing. We had the key lime pie for dessert which was sweet and tart and fun to look at with some tasty and pretty sauces served with it. At the end I was compelled to speak to the manager about our experience - too many people are quick to complain but not enough say something when their experience was good. I've dined at Harry's a lot over the last ten years and have never been disappointed, but today was positively outstanding. It was especially great because I had taken a very good friend there to celebrate her birthday. Hope to be back soon!

This is a lovely restaurant, with great food pairings. The food and drinks were mid-price range. I hardly ever say anything negative but the waitress knocked over my husband's beer and a good amount was all over the table. We expected her to replace the bottle with a new one but she just mentioned it didn't look like much spilled so you should be fine. I just think it was disappointing in how that was handled.

Harry's in any location never disappoints. It's always our favorite. We tried the Ocala location for the first time recently. Delicious food and great service! Red Fish Royale is always a favorite but everything is delicious! We also had the seasonal trio with steak, lobster, and shrimp and French Market Pasta and it was all wonderful!

They don’t take reservations, we called a week ago as well as this morning to make sure they could sit our party and they refused to take a reservation. They specifically told us we HAD to call 30 minutes ahead of time and so we did exactly that, and now they’re saying they can’t seat us. Was going for my birthday, so we are all pretty disappointed. We won’t be back.

Small portions, a bit pricey, but good flavor. Parking is a pain at this location.

Rudest bartenders you’ll ever meet. Don’t sit at the bar. They don’t respond when you need to order and you’re not sure they heard you. Absolutely no personality. The bartenders act like they are doing you a favor. Excellent food. Just get a table

It was fenamonal! It was three of us, and we all got something different, so we could try a couple of the dishes. My daughter got the Surf and Truf, my husband got the Shrimp Po Boy, and I got the Jumboliea. They were all very good. The pumpkin Martini was delicious. 😋 We didn't get to try dessert. We were so full. I recommend them. The service was also excellent. We will be back.

Once again, a truly delicious dining experience. The food and service was stupendous. I had the Andouille Grouper with smashed potatoes and it was out of this world.

Harry's is a busy restaurant which goes to show that many people like it there. It is loud with a lot of action. The food and service are good. If you're looking for a hustle and bustle atmosphere, it is a good place to go. If you were looking for quiet, I would look elsewhere. But we go to Harry's regularly and enjoy it.

This is a great restaurant in downtown Ocala, serving you seafood and Cajun dishes. I went with 5 friends and everyone's food was delicious, we landed in happy hour and got discounted drinks which were yum. (2-7pm) After a day on the river kayaking this was such a great dining experience. I would definitely return here when I visit Ocala. Large menu to choose from, we all got seafood dishes but the burgers and jambalaya the table next to us looked amazing as well.

Got the baked scallops and they were definitely heavy handed creamed and salty. A lot overwhelming without a starch to balance it. I ordered the mashed potatoes but they said they were out of them. Food is so pricey and it didn’t seem like anyone tasted it before serving because it almost choked me out how much salt and cream it was sitting in. Calamari was smaller than what I remembered. Scampi dish was okay. Service was good but for the cost of the food and taste, I would go elsewhere next time.

Great food can get very loud at times with people talking over eating others being a small dining area.

Sweet and amazing, simple, pricy, but excellent

Order the andouille crusted grouper. My fish came out barely cooked. Service was mediocre at best. After the manager was informed about my dish didn't even get so much as an apology would have at least appreciated some sort of visit to the table from management after that. Been going to this establishment for going on 17 years I don't believe they have updated the menu once. After the last couple of visits being extremely disappointing I don't think there's a reason to ever return

I rarely, if ever, give restaurants five stars because we have had some experiences lately where waitstaff and restaurants were either good or indifferent. Mom and I ate here on Tuesday with Dad and Grandma after Mom and I had watched Wicked at Epic and the food was very good. Dad asked our waiter how his day had been and he said that he had been getting his butt kicked all day running around the restaraunt filling orders for people, but with it being the lead up to Christmas, he had been expecting it. The bread oven was not working that night, but the bread was still good. The banana rum cheesecake was amazing.

Literally only leaving this review because Andrew was the MOST pleasant person we met at Harry’s. He really added to the atmosphere and went above and beyond and I hope he gets recognized for that

waited 30 min for a table. Michael was serving our table, We ordered soup & appetizer as well we did make our dinner order. We waited more than 40 minutes food wasn’t served to us We asked Michael twice he kept saying your food is coming soon. After some waiting time we asked Michael to check for the order Michael came back said food not made yet I can cancel your order you only pay the soup & apetizer. We did paid the bill and gone without having dinner. There no apology or excuses from the restaurant waiter Michael 😡🙁

Very uncomfortable after the appetizer came, we ordered our food for 3 people and this waitress Michael 🧔🏻 very unprofessional and rude person we attended our dinner night with my parents he came after 35 minutes saying sorry but the food is late and said how far late? And after 20 minutes came back to said sorry again !!! this is the check food is another 45 minutes 🤯😡😢 we left very frustrated because we love to eat in that restaurant 🥺 but I hope the manager check this guy Michael😡 how we treat my family. NO RECOMMEND 😖☹️😤

My wife's favorite restaurant in Ocala. We have to hit this one everything we stay near by.

This is my first time eating here and I was not disappointed! The She Crab soup is a must have, bread was hot and served with a garlic chive butter. We had their holiday menu specials, Eggplant with Crab and cream basil sauce and the Flounder with Lobster risotto..perfection on a plate! I will definitely be coming back again to try the rest of their menu. Bisher was our server, ask for him, he’s awesome!

This was our second time at this Harry’s location and it was an excellent stop for me. I had the grilled redfish and red beans and rice, both of which were delicious. Bread was provided as well, but it was not anything special. My husband had a hamburger, which I tasted. We agreed that it lacked flavor, so would not recommend it as a choice. Our server, Barbara, was attentive and it was very pleasant sitting in the outdoor area. Inside was quite loud. I would like to rate it a 4 1/2, but am rounding up to a 5. Just be forewarned about the hamburger.

Excellent food. Reasonably priced. Friendly service. Our party of seven all had seafood and everyone was very pleased. The key lime pie was voted by our table as the best any ever had. My wife and I shared the Oreo beignets. They were FANTASTIC!

I had a seasonal special, Shrimp & Scallops Evangeline. The shrimp and scallops were fresh and perfectly seasoned, not too spicy. The sauce was light and flavorful.

Where to begin… this definitely a restaurant that you feel as if “not in Florida”. Though there was mix of reviews, it’s always best to experience the flavors for yourself. My wife and I had the Gumbo (very comforting), Ahi tuna (made to perfection), my wife had the Lobster Risotto with Flounder and she absolutely loved it, I had the New Orleans Prime rib with rice and beans (a definite “order again”). Our waitress Ariadne was great and her customer service was above and beyond (thank you). Plenty of seating, the parking lot is not much of a distance, the ambience was very chill and relaxing, the only downfall was the wait time for the food but the quality and flavor of it all, made it worth the wait. Hello, My first time visiting Harry's and it was spectacular. As it was my birthday weekend out of town camping, we wanted good seafood for dinner. The location in town and customer service was spot on. Sat at the bar and got hooked on drinks specials and the blue crab claws. And the gift card. Our bar host was the best I've had at any restaurant. Honestly. I work in HR as a customer service manager and Shaquella (spelling) was very attentive to our questions. Beautiful smile . She picked up on my gluten allergy before I mentioned it. She took care of us and others , her staff in delegating a proper flow of happy hour, food safety and orders. If she's not a regional manager now, she should be. The best example of a leader. Heather and Brian

One person in our party had been seated at our table. When the rest of us got there, the hostess just told us to go in and find her. She literally would not take The four remaining people to the table. Very unprofessional Ordered the crab crusted redfish Royale. The corn was very chewy and hard in places. It was awful. The Red wine was served Warm. I expected better. We were there a year ago and it was outstanding. I don’t know what happened. The best thing we had was a blueberry banana cheesecake. That was outstanding.

The chef went REALLY heavy on the green onion "garnish"... But once I picked it all off, the red beans and rice with smoked sausage was delicious! It was a HUGE portion that I could only eat less than half of... Winchester though, because I ate the rest for lunch today 😊

My grouper wasn't cooked all the way, making it impossible to even cut with a butter knife and fork. Our Boudan appetizer did NOT hit the spot nor taste right... something was off... The waiter and manager that night did a fantastic job helping us out, correcting the bill after removing my grouper, and even gave us dessert on the house. After their commitment to service, I would normally leave my opinion at their door and not post a review. HOWEVER, at 2am that night, my 6 year old daughter vomited her entire meal up in our hotel room, confirming further there were food preparation issues. I do NOT recommend this restaurant.

Nothing special here. Food was ordinary. Shrimp scampi was nothing I would order again. No taste to shrimp. Instead of being white they were translucent. Pasta and sauce were good. Fried shrimp was tasty and fries had a wonderful taste. Atmosphere was nice as it is an old building and tastefully decorated. We’re going to take seafood loving guests there but won’t.

We decided to stop here to eat because of all the positive reviews on how delicious the food is. The food took almost an hour to arrive to our table. We ordered seafood fondeux, crab soup, shrimp po boy, rib eye, fish tacos, and fried chicken sandwich and all our entrees were lacking flavor and over priced for the quality/ quantity you get. Restaurant was dirty and the bathrooms did not have toilet paper and were dirty. I took the time to review the restaurant to save someone else from making the same mistake by being misled by the positive reviews.
