Harry's Bar and Brasserie in Isle of Wight

Harry’s has become our “Go To” restaurant for celebrations. We eat there for our two “anniversaries” each year: the anniversary of our first date and the anniversary of our wedding (they are only 15 weeks apart❣️ My wife loves the salmon and refuses to order anything else. I, on the other hand, have ordered five different entrees and enjoyed each! The grit cakes side item is a real winner, also. We will make our next visit in about seven weeks away. Yummy

Great food, drinks and ambience.

Nobody likes a dried up oyster.

We were told there was a 15-20 minute wait. Waited almost an hour with two toddlers. The two hostesses in the front were just rude and couldn’t have cared less. Was getting ready to leave when a gentlemen said the table was finally ready. The saving grace was our waiter Michael!!!! He couldn’t have been more fantastic!!!!! The food was excellent -Michael and his helper treated us very well. We will be back because of them!!!

My wife and I eat at Harry's often. We usually have a wonderful experience. This review pertains to last night meal and experience. We waited over an hour to be seated. We were a party of 7 and were told the table they picked for us was not available since the current party sat at the table long after finishing their meal. The problem was they seated other large party's in front of us. We finally decided to ask why this was occurring. They finally offered to seat us in two tables in a different arrangement. Why did we not get the same offer? Instead, the wait staff chose to seat other large party's in front of us. If that was the only problem, I would not write this review. The second and most problem occurred with the meal I ordered. I always order the Shrimp Scampi, blackened, and without the tomato garnish. I saw the waitress make notes for the order. However, the meal came out unblackened, and with tomatoes. The took the meal away, removed the tomatoes, and dumped blackening seasoning over the top of the meal and returned it. Why are you dumping raw seasoning over an already cooked meal? I am a pretty good home cook and you never dump seasoning on a meal after it is prepared. The seasoning should be cook into the meal so it melds with the other ingredients. I would call late night's service shameful. It will be a long while before I return. Once you receive such poor service, that is what you remember.

Our server Ethan was great. Despite getting QUADRUPLE sat he handled the situation with grace and calm. He was conversational, polite, and attentive. We really appreciated his thoughtful service. The food was amazing as well. I got the redfish and it was 10/10. Bread and butter hit the spot. Will be back next time we visit Ocala.

You can't beat Harry's! Delicious food, great service. Located right in downtown Ocala, it's a wonderful addition to the area.

Beautifully seasoned food, nice presentation 👌 Waiter & staff are phenomenal, sat outside with our Dauchsunds nice evening out with my man. 💖 He had a Mardi Gras special, I had tenderloin medallions with shrimp, total delish

A Once-Loved Spot Tarnished by Poor Service For several visits, I've enjoyed consistently good food at Harry's. It was a reliable spot, a go-to during my trips to the area over the last year. I fell in love with the grit cakes and shrimp and grits, so we try to visit every time we are in from out of state. However, my experience today was shockingly disappointing and has unfortunately turned me off from returning. Upon arrival today, we were seated at a table that was clearly dirty. When I politely asked for the table to be wiped down as the server brought plates, I was met with an attitude that was both unprofessional and unnecessary. The hostess eventually moved us to another table, but the staff’s audible mumbling and dismissive demeanor made it clear we were no longer welcome. While I understand that occasional mishaps can occur in the restaurant industry, the lack of respect and basic cleanliness displayed today was unacceptable. We pay for a service, and a clean table and courteous service are fundamental expectations. I refuse to patronize establishments that don't value their customers. It's a shame that a place I once enjoyed has fallen so short. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issues with their staff. The good food I've had in the past is now overshadowed by this incredibly negative experience.

We love this as our place for great food. It has always been our favorite backup.

Visiting friends who just relocated to Ocala, they recommended Harry’s. Overall we were happy with food and cocktails that were delivered to us by a really friendly waiter. We all mostly ordered seafood which was very good. The gumbo which I was expecting to also be vey good to possible excellent was a let down. Being someone who has prepared this dinner many times, the issue stemmed from undercooking the base Rue. Disappointing but all else was very good which made up for it.

Outstanding service by Nick tonight! I took my teen, 6,4&2 year old out and we enjoyed ourselves! Nick was very attentive, kind and the food came out very fast when it was very busy! Thank you!

I've never wanted 1 of everything on the menu before 🤤 this place was delicious. Drinks were great! our waitress was kind and polite, a very lovely young lady.

Harry's is an Ocala staple with top quality service I loved coming here

We live in Homosassa and drive the distance to have dinner at Harry’s in Ocala. We arrived around 5:30, restaurant was full but we got seated on the bar side at a high top table immediately. Our waitress quickly approached us and took our drink order. By the time she returned we had decided what we were ordering. Starting off with the Calamari, it is excellent and the portion is very generous, it comes with fried green beans mixed in and Remoulade sauce, yum! The noise level was very high but everyone was enjoying themselves. Our dinners arrived in a timely fashion and were piping hot. I had French baked scallops with a creamy sauce on the bottom of them and topped with Parmesan cheese, large portion and my side was smashed potatoes, the meal was delicious. Husband had Blackened red fish with collard greens and nola rice, he enjoyed his dinner as well. Our waitress took great care of us, we appreciated that! Prices were reasonable and the food fantastic. Come give Harry’s a try and experience a taste of New Orleans ya’ all!!! Debbie

Great food and atmosphere. Sadly, my salmon on my salad had 0 flavor. Guessing it was farm raised. Menu did not specify. Salad was good otherwise. I prefer Letuce to what they use in its place. The staff was amazing. From hostess to server.

One of the best places to eat in Ocala! Great menu. Reasonable prices. It's very popular so expect a wait at busy times - especially the weekends.

We were in Ocala for 1st time Sunday... We knew Harry's of St. Augustine is good. We were seated in the boring back room....I'd eat in the bar next time! We split the Blackened Grouper ($20) with beans & rice side...the kitchen dropped 1 french fry onto my plate which was a small added bonus!. *The kitchen put our meal on 2 plates for us which was great! The food was GREAT ! The waitress was GREAT ! The room atmosphere was too loud, dull & just boring brick walls with lousy cheap art... We got to listen to everything the loud guy in Harley hat at next table had to say. So...that's why Florida folks who don't benefit from DAYTONA BIKE WEEK hate it! Ha ha.....

We love Harry's ❤️. The Redfish crab crushed royal is delicious 😋!!! Our group enjoyed everything. Thank you Harry's for never disappointing.

Service was awful, waitress is a comedian. Haha, we’re all laughing. Where is my food. Ok it is here. Where is my check. Blah blah blah. Left home 6:30 come here 6:40 leave 9!!!!!! Stupid stupid stupid. Food was all right, not superb or anything to think on!’ Don’t come here if you want to preserve your evening. Really my wife should’ve paid too but she is a gold digger but we already had kids so can’t divorce. Fun time at Harry’s not so fun. Are scallops even good? Who like them too much butter not enough salt don’t come here for fun or games.

We were there last Sunday (2/23) Overall, this was a pleaseant experience with my entire family. However there were a couple of hic-cups that I addressed in both an email and a FaceBook message to this location , neither of which I have received any response to.

Stopped for lunch, and the Food was Awesome. A week later, on way back home , stopped again and the Food was even better .Tried different dishes and was not disappointed. The soups are to die for .If your looking for a place to eat and there is a Harry's Seafood near by ,Stop , it's worth it !!!!!

Absolutely fantastic. I had the shrimp scampi and it was wonderful. We also had the boudin balls appetizer and would highly recommend. The sauce those come with is delicious.

Our entrees were very good. The appetizer of calamari was not good, very chew, maybe just a bad batch. Other than that everything was very good.

We ate here about a year ago on our way to Pensacola and on a recent trip to New Orleans we recalled what a good meal we had a year ago and stopped here again. Delicious food, excellent service and wonderful atmosphere. The menu has quite a variety of things on it enough so that all of us had a few choices. We would eat here more often if we were local. Highly recommended. UPDATE Feb. 24, 2025 -Still excellent food and service; we were here again as we passed through Ocala a few days ago. We look forward to dining here every time and are never disappointed.

Try the Oreo bigets or whatever French shit word it is. Very good, hard to pronounce easy to eat.

Food is always amazing SheCrab soup is a must. Food came out before salad and had to ask for bread and refills but always great food

Everything amazingly fresh and tasty. Bartender was super friendly. Definitely recommend.

We tried to get in for Saturday night but the wait was going to be over two hours. It was explained we would receive a text but that didn't happen. So we decided to try again on a Sunday for lunch. That following day was great, we gave a thirty minute call ahead and were directed seated upon arrival. The food was awesome and we will definitely be coming back for that New Orleans style seafood! Between four adults for lunch on that Sunday, the total was about $100, not counting the tip.

We had a late lunch on a Saturday, and the service was fast and friendly. We had the grouper fingers , bourbon salmon, and also the fish tacos. Both were outstanding. Thanks for a great meal!

Have gone many times over the years. Menu never changes. This time I tried shrimp and scallops new Orleans. 4 scallops and maybe 5 or 6 tiny shrimp surrounded by grit cakes.Grits made up most of the meal. The kale dish was far too salty. I originally went here due to recommendations to try their chocolate bread pudding. People were going there just because it was so good. For some unknown reason they took it off the menu and although numerous customers asked for it back per the wait staff,the chef would not put back on the menu. Most of the food is good but after a few years the menu gets boring. The one item no one ever tired of was the bread pudding. If you have a demand for an item, why wouldn't you put it back on the menu??

Wow, we had an amazing time at Harry’s! The food was awesome, the service was good, and the atmosphere was terrific. The portions were generous and the flavor was so, so good. We will definitely be back!!!

I had crab cakes. The manager walks to each table assuring that the service and food are made to the customer's liking. We had heard it was a local favorite restaurant and we add our vote to that. Enjoy.

The food is good, but the 90 minute wait makes it a lousy experience.

I bought shrimp scampi. It's just butter. I ordered a burger it was plain and didn't come with cheese. I ordered calamari and it is hard as rock. It's like chewing on a dog's bully stick. What a waste of $54.80. I'll have to make my own sauce for these expensive noodles and handful of shrimp. I'll need to put a ton of condiments on this burger and the calamari is not even edible. it's so over cooked it's chewy and hard to bite into. Terrible. The only good thing about this place is Jordi the young man that attended me and took my order.

In Ocala for a week, ordered walk-out from here. I'd prefer to give them a 3.5 stars. I got Pasta Chicken Louisianne dish. The meal was just okay, they didn't actually toss the pasta with the sauce which I found particularly odd; the sauce was in one corner so I had to shake the container to get the sauce spread over the pasta. The sauce in general was just okay, not spicy at all which I kind of thought it would be given the "Louisianne" in the name but it was cream based so perhaps that was on me. The grilled chicken was delicious! Tender and tasty, very enjoyable much more-so than the pasta. They gave bread with the meal which I didn't expect but it was more or less a 6" sub roll, yum sure the same bread they use for sandwiches. I also found that choice of bread very odd but it was fine. The herbed butter along with the bread was quite nice and enjoyable. The inside of the restaurant seemed like a pretty chill vibe and the service, from what I saw inside briefly, seemed solid. However I would not be happy (personally) sitting at one of their hightop in between the booths and bar, very odd seating arrangement but likely their only choice given the space, fair enough. I would for sure try this place again, perhaps id enjoy the food more eating at the restaurant. Like I said, I would prefer to give them a 3.5 star from this experience but the food I had didn't quite give 4 star vibes.

Great seafood dishes at reasonable prices. Had the seafood fondue which was very rich. Crab cake dinner for me and chicken and shrimp creole for the Mrs. All Great. Would recommend & come again.

Waited 10 minutes at the bar even though there was only 1 other patron finishing up???? Food was okay, but won't be back.... bar server never checked on me and let everyone know she was leaving at 3pm. Had to get someone to serve me another drink. Then she told someone she'd been here for 5 years? GO ELSEWHERE

Kari, with scallop knowledge so fine, Dry pack scallops, the true gold mine. Cocktails recommended with expertise, Each sip a symphony, a true masterpiece. Back we'll be to this charming place, Where whimsy and flavor interlace. Harry's, a gem in Ocala's crown, Kari's advice never let us down. So, if in Ocala seeking a treat, Harry's is the place where flavors meet. With Kari's service, a true delight, A culinary journey, deliciously right.

Went to celebrate a family birthday. Had Kari as our server. She was FANTASTIC! Made the whole visit wonderful! I will definitely request her next time we visit.

Whenever we have guests here in Ocala from out of town, Harry’s is the one dining spot we are sure to take them! Always excellently prepared and consistent food, and superior service. Their Keylime pie is the best we’ve had!

Great place for Cajun food. It's a popular place so be prepared to wait a bit for a table, but it's worth the wait. Menu selection is broad, there were several dishes I want to try. Portions were ample and very tasty. Service was excellent and prices were reasonable. We will be back

We typically visit the St. Augustine location but this location was amazing too. The food and drinks were amazing. The location is much easier to get parking and get to than the St Augustine location. The only complaint I have is our server left during the middle of our meal and we weren’t told until near the end of the meal. But the person who took over was great!

Downtown Ocala, first time at Harry's. Fancy atmosphere, came on a Thursday in the afternoon. Quick service not too busy. The food was ok, had a taste of the jambalaya and was not my favorite. The chicken and shrimp creole did not have enough rice for the amount of sauce there was. The andouille crusted grouper was my dish and favorite along with the oreo beignets. The boudin balls was good. The service and atmosphere was great.

Second time I've been and this place is outstanding!!!

Came with the family after Christmas. Very loud but very warm atmosphere with people laughing and the staff being attentive. The food came nice and hot and we weren’t disappointed. The crab cakes are a family fave but I tried the grouper fingers and it was very juicy and the tartar sauce made it yummier.

Not my kinda food, but wife loves it. I can always find something good.

It's been a long while since I've had such a good experience dining out. Our young server, Aliyah, didn't miss a beat, keeping drinks filled, clearing dishes as they were finished, checking in just frequently enough. She cheerfully accommodated all our requests and brought extra crostinis for the dip going home and bread and butter to go with the entree leftovers. The food was excellent, we had a few dishes but the standouts were the crisp and cold salads with the best homemade blue cheese dressing, and the crab cakes were amazing. We had the key lime pie for dessert which was sweet and tart and fun to look at with some tasty and pretty sauces served with it. At the end I was compelled to speak to the manager about our experience - too many people are quick to complain but not enough say something when their experience was good. I've dined at Harry's a lot over the last ten years and have never been disappointed, but today was positively outstanding. It was especially great because I had taken a very good friend there to celebrate her birthday. Hope to be back soon!

Will not be back. Have been there many times and your food is just not worth it. It actually sucks. Had Jambalaya on Sat 1-4-2024. It was served almost at room temperature and to have it heated up. Mostly rice, very little meat in the dish. My wife had scallops and shrimp. No hot either and was disappointed as well.

This is a lovely restaurant, with great food pairings. The food and drinks were mid-price range. I hardly ever say anything negative but the waitress knocked over my husband's beer and a good amount was all over the table. We expected her to replace the bottle with a new one but she just mentioned it didn't look like much spilled so you should be fine. I just think it was disappointing in how that was handled.

Harry's in any location never disappoints. It's always our favorite. We tried the Ocala location for the first time recently. Delicious food and great service! Red Fish Royale is always a favorite but everything is delicious! We also had the seasonal trio with steak, lobster, and shrimp and French Market Pasta and it was all wonderful!

They don’t take reservations, we called a week ago as well as this morning to make sure they could sit our party and they refused to take a reservation. They specifically told us we HAD to call 30 minutes ahead of time and so we did exactly that, and now they’re saying they can’t seat us. Was going for my birthday, so we are all pretty disappointed. We won’t be back.

Rudest bartenders you’ll ever meet. Don’t sit at the bar. They don’t respond when you need to order and you’re not sure they heard you. Absolutely no personality. The bartenders act like they are doing you a favor. Excellent food. Just get a table

It was fenamonal! It was three of us, and we all got something different, so we could try a couple of the dishes. My daughter got the Surf and Truf, my husband got the Shrimp Po Boy, and I got the Jumboliea. They were all very good. The pumpkin Martini was delicious. 😋 We didn't get to try dessert. We were so full. I recommend them. The service was also excellent. We will be back.

Once again, a truly delicious dining experience. The food and service was stupendous. I had the Andouille Grouper with smashed potatoes and it was out of this world.

Harry's is a busy restaurant which goes to show that many people like it there. It is loud with a lot of action. The food and service are good. If you're looking for a hustle and bustle atmosphere, it is a good place to go. If you were looking for quiet, I would look elsewhere. But we go to Harry's regularly and enjoy it.

Ridiculously horrible service is the reason for the low rating. Great Food was 8/10 - a very good rating coming from me! Great Location! Great Vibe! Great Atmosphere! Take this rating serious. The servers & hostess are the worst I’ve ever seen!

This is a great restaurant in downtown Ocala, serving you seafood and Cajun dishes. I went with 5 friends and everyone's food was delicious, we landed in happy hour and got discounted drinks which were yum. (2-7pm) After a day on the river kayaking this was such a great dining experience. I would definitely return here when I visit Ocala. Large menu to choose from, we all got seafood dishes but the burgers and jambalaya the table next to us looked amazing as well.

Got the baked scallops and they were definitely heavy handed creamed and salty. A lot overwhelming without a starch to balance it. I ordered the mashed potatoes but they said they were out of them. Food is so pricey and it didn’t seem like anyone tasted it before serving because it almost choked me out how much salt and cream it was sitting in. Calamari was smaller than what I remembered. Scampi dish was okay. Service was good but for the cost of the food and taste, I would go elsewhere next time.

Great food can get very loud at times with people talking over eating others being a small dining area.
