We called into the cafe on a wet and windy morning. We only wanted a snack and the lovely staff split a toasted sandwich and gave us both the excellent coleslaw and salad garnish. Carrot cake to follow and lovely cup of coffee.
This cafe was next to my hotel, so I dropped in for a coffee and baguette before setting off to hike round to Ryde. Wish I'd discovered it sooner, as it was the best cafe I came across during my stay in Sandown.
I had an egg-and-tomato baguette, which they knocked up very quickly (they are not ready made), and it was lush. I love eggs and always have them in a baguette, and I rate this the best egg baguette I had all summer. They'd done the eggs to perfection--so instead of the flat pale look slices of boiled egg usually have, these had the granular golden surface of good-quality eggs cooked very recently. I had a chat to the jolly, friendly ladies in this cafe, including a lovely Welsh one who told me everything is fresh. You wouldn't get a slice of yesterday's boiled egg in Planet Janet, that's for sure. And with lovely bread and fresh tomato slices too, it was just the perfect baguette experience, which is not often come by. That and a good coffee in this charming sea-front corner cafe set me up for my hike with a smile on my face.
I went here for lunch it was amazing, will be returning asap good value amazing prices, you get a lot of food for the price best sausage rolls by far!!
Just had the best sandwich that I have EVER had!

Stayed Saturday 11/02/23 at The Brunswick Hotel for a Valentines Break.
Booked directly with the Hotel which was seamless and very informative as to what to expect, and incidentally got a great deal because of this.
The Afternoon Tea was delightful with an excellent selection especially the GF, only niggle was a Serrano Ham was used for a finger sandwiches,
Cocktail choices again was excellent even ones not on menu were available.
Evening Meal was faultless that is all that needs to be said
Starters, Oysters in a Vietnamese Dressing (not on the menu but sorted by the Chefs) Beef Brisket Croquettes, Superb
Fillet and Sirloin Steaks as good as anywhere we have eaten around the World
Desserts to die for.
Finally a big thank you to all the staff, Manager Jack, Ass Manager Dan our sever Ebs and an even bigger thank you to the unseen Chefs and Kitchen Staff who helped to make everything such a wonderful Experience and Memory
We will be back
Has never encountered this horrible experience before. Staff where a tinny bit rude and food took way too long to arrive, Fish goujons looked over cooked and gressy and tasted like they been cooked in cheap oil that hasn't been changed in like 2 weeks. Never again.
Should be amazing sadly quality was not with us today. Staff can be really pleasant. The outside is to die for, food just not where it should be . Toilets unsure.

We went at short notice for Sunday dinner. Staff welcoming despite the fact that we had not booked. A traditional roast dinner with a choice of 4 meats. Big portion, cooked just like your grandma would have done it in her prime. We were fed up, as our day had not been working out so far. You really saved it. Thanks so much
When Im on the Isle of Wight, always take time to visit this wonderful cafe.
Please try and make it too.
Their fun is excellent value.
Im coming back in April 2020.
We popped in for a cake and the choice was outstanding BUT the taste was even better!!!
My husband had a iced bun (it was huge) I had a caramel/ custard doughnut and it was the best I've ever had!
We made sure to pop in before we caught the ferry home for fresh bread and more cakes.
Well worth more than one visit.
Poor experience I'm afraid. Before I start, I'm a huge animal lover; I own 2 dogs, cats and several chickens. But dogs in a café, nope. And big scruffy dogs, left free to wander around a cafe, eating scraps off the floor and licking and sniffing at customer's legs. Absolutely nope.
When I asked the lady behind the counter if it was the cafés dog (not that it makes any difference really) I got a simple "no it's a customer's" and that was that. No "oh I'll ask them to put it back on it's lead". I guess that would have been a crazy idea?!
I think I could get over the dog being in the cafe as I'm probably being a bit harsh on that point but I really don't think it's appropriate, hygienic or considerate to other customers in the slightest to allow this to happen. The coffee was pretty good but to be honest I was a bit out off after Mutley licked my leg.
Initially just popped in for a drink but, after seeing the menu, we decided to cancel our dinner reservation somewhere else. We were not disappointed, everything we are was delicious but the balinese whole fish was a dish we will remember for a long time. Highly recommended.
