Best chocolate cake and brownies ever purchased. A hidden gem of a cafe. Far better than the chains. Fantastic service and superb food.

I think this place is brilliant. They have friendly and welcoming staff. The cakes are all handmade and taste delicious, there are plenty of gluten free options too! The prices are also reasonable for what you get. The garden out the back is gorgeous, there are beautiful flowers and a ‘unexploded bomb’ display that is very fitting for the theme of the cafe which is 1940s. I would 100% visit again!

I love this place. Cakes are all hand made and there are gluten free options. They select local burgers and sausages. You can enjoy the garden outside whilst having your food and drink. The staff are friendly, warm and accomodating. Lovely little café which different from other ones, with it's WW1/2 decor. Highly recommend

Came here based on the reviews but sadly it didn't quite meet the expectations I had. I love the decor, although on arrival I was presented with a ladder in the middle of the walkway which remained unmanned for a good 3 minutes. Bit of a health and safety issue! The interior decor is fabulous if you like 1940s / war memorabilia, and the garden out back is really cute with umbrellas for shade on hot sunny days. My biggest issue here was what I ordered and cost. I had a cheese and ham toastie and a pot of peppermint tea for £9.30. I actually thought I had a large bottle of water in that £9.30, which I asked for twice but instead was given an extra pot of hot water as I was misheard. For that price I absolutely would have expected better bread for the toastie and for the cheese to be melted, which it wasn't. I'm glad I came but I probably won't come back.

Tasty food in a lovely setting. We really enjoyed our lunch. The food was beautifully cooked and served with a warm smile. The cafe was spotlessly clean with an excellent choice on the menu. When the weather warms it would be lovely to sit in the gorgeous garden. Tea in a proper tea pot and China cups..brilliant.

Friendly and helpful staff, great positive vibes be it from staff or customers. Awesome war time theme that reflects in displays as well as the menu. Delicious breakfast, hot drinks and cakes. Previously been in for sandwiches. All freshly made to order. Nothing is too much trouble. Great place for a catch up over food and drink. Well done ladies!!!

I have been into this cafe before it changed its theme to war memorabilia which I liked but it would work better if it had been thought out better, it was slightly lacking in places. I have been to other cafes with 'themes' which are a lot better - just a bit more thought is required. What was on offer in terms of cake was disappointing and this was not helped that the waitress dropped my cake order in cabinet and then pieced it together in front of customers and duly served it to me. My companion advised me to complain but due to what was on offer (very limited) I could not be bothered and just wanted to leave at that point.

We visited this cafe today for coffee and cake and what a surprise we had for this is a walk back in time to the Second World War! There are fascinating artefacts everywhere to look at! Then when you’ve seen everything inside there’s a beautiful walled garden to sit out in but look out for the unexploded bomb! The cakes are amazing and every dietary requirements are well catered for! The staff are lovely and very friendly too! Last thing look out for the knitted Dads Army platoon which is wonderful!

Called by for Breakfast, as it was a while since I was last in the Cafe when it was under its previous name/owners. The Breakfast was fine, comfort and surroundings fine, and nothing untoward at all. However in relation to the price charged, the portion size was not generous and as such it didn't make for good value for money. Having only one egg, thin cheap toast, and beans in a cold pot are never going to score well in my eyes. All that said it was OK, just that some attention to content re cost would make them a far better option.

We had seen this place advertised in a magazine when we were on the mainland before coming to the Isle of Wight on holiday and discovered it was but a stone's throw from our hotel. We had passed it on several evenings but only got the chance to pop in on our last morning on the island. We had had no idea it had a wartime theme which was such a novelty. I even spotted a young child who had come with his parents and who was as fascinated with it all as we were..

Stopped for a cream tea which the wife enjoyed. Usual 2 scones provided with jam and clotted cream and a good pot of tea. They normally do Gluten Free cream tea but due to high demand had sold out of GF scones. They were however able to supply GF cheese scones so I had a savoury version of cream tea, 2 GF cheese scones, a tomato chutney and a cream cheese. Was very nice and would recommend.

Stopped here for tea and we're so glad we did. Loose leaf tea in a china tea pot (not one of those awful stainless steel ones that dribbles all over the table), a tea strainer, china cups and saucers and a china milk jug - this is how tea should be served. The Bakewell slice and chocolate cake were both delicious and the portions very generous. The friendly welcome and engaging staff added to the enjoyment. Looking forward to the next visit.
