Has never encountered this horrible experience before. Staff where a tinny bit rude and food took way too long to arrive, Fish goujons looked over cooked and gressy and tasted like they been cooked in cheap oil that hasn't been changed in like 2 weeks. Never again.

Love this little cafe, the chips are the best you will ever have, they're thick and crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Their sausage and chips meal is great value at £4.50 when you consider the sausage is 12 inches long! They're burgers are huge and tasty, guaranteed to fill you up on their own. You can put your own salt and vinegar on which i like because they never put enough on. The young lady was lovely, friendly and chatty and very down to earth. Would definately recommend.

On the Island visiting relatives and after a long morning walking it was time to eat. My cousin fancied chips and asked me to recommend so I suggested the Beach Gardens as I have been going there for many years. So I introduced my cousin to this wonderful gem on Sandown seafront. The good news is that she is spreading the word on where to get the best chips in Sandown on the seafront. Also I would highly recommend the doughnuts!

We stopped here to have a snack on Boxing Day. There were three of us and we ordered lattes and a portion of chips each. My husband also had the 12" hot dog. I have to say that the chips were some of the tastiest I've had in a long time! The food was cooked to order and was piping hot, as were the lattes. Highly recommended.

As a regular visitor to the island outside of the usual holiday seasons it's nice to have a place that you can rely on to be open all day and that serves great food and drinks at reasonable prices. The chunky, crispy, lightly battered chips are highly recommended and the use of the cafes wifi is an added bonus. The staff are friendly and cheerful and will go the extra mile. I look forward to visiting when I'm next over in November.

We were looking forward to a seaside fish and chips. We were so disappointed in what we got. The fish was not fresh in any way and was tasteless and incredibly greasy. The chips might have looked nice but were so full of grease they were horrible. We ended up throwing most of it out. We also had a portion of tasteless prawns and cockles.

Visited this gorgeous little place for a cheeky ice-cream after our meal out! Was open late and even made us some fresh donuts! My husband had the BEST rum and raisin ice cream he'd ever had! I'm partial to a good old-fashioned '99' which was equally delicious (and a generous portion too!) The donuts were a wonderful treat - hot, sugary (with an option for cinnamon! Oooh!) and scrummy! Not only were the treats delicious but the service was outstanding! Happy, cheery and chatty - even though I'm sure they must have been exhausted after being there all day - they were about to be locking up, nothing seemed too much trouble and all was delivered with a friendly smile!Diamond of a place!

The staff are fantastic - friendly and helpful. We got our ice cold drinks straight away and our well-priced food promptly after, which was nicely presented, and tasted absolutely great! We sat inside, in a very clean, nicely decorated area, although we noted a number of tables outside with a great garden area. Ice cream after was delicious, and like our dinner, were of a decent size portion wise. Overall, we had a great meal, and will definitely be revisiting.

Stopped here for dinner - it's just a beach kiosk, opposite the beach but serves big portions of excellent fish and chips, with the bonus of salad . There are also picnic benches sit on which are great for our smallest child - much as we wanted to eat it on the beach, she would have dropped her tea in the sand before it was half gone and so we stuck with the table Good value meal, on a sunny day , sitting on a bench outside the kiosk eating dinner - it doesn't get much better!

I have always found best value and service is with seafront cafes which are clean smart and unpretentious. Right again. The fish and chips was excellent , and not expensive. This would give The Magpie in Whitby a run for its money. Was very naughty and finished off with three giant scoops of New Forest ice cream

We came across this delightful place whilst looking for fish and chips on a chilly August evening. Despite the owner just about to close the cafe he kindly agreed to cook our family of 5 fish and chips. The food was delicious and the seated area we ate them in was lovely. The owner was very chatty and gave my 3 daughters free ice cream, a real bonus. We really enjoyed our visit and look forward returning on our next trip to the Isle of Wight.

Loved this place! A little cafe which also serves as a Take away just by the beach in Sandown!Perfect place for lunch or snack or take away fish & chips, burger, sandwiches etc if you spend the day on the beach. It was perfect for us with little ones as the children could either just have a little break from the beach and a sit down lunch or I would just go up and get the food and bring it to the beach. We had dinner at both Reef & Legends restaurant and were not that impressed. Food here is great! I recommend, if going for dinner and you want to be outside, just take a blanket, a bottle of wine, get your fish and chips or whatever you fancy from the Beach Garden cafe and then have a lovely picnic on the beach. Value is great as kids food is about £1.50-£2.00. As previous reviewer, I had the crab which was very fresh and tasty. Service is fabulous as everything is done with a smile! Love it!

One doesn't expect much of a beach cafe. However it's nice to be pleasantly surprised. We ordered a beef burger, vegeburger, prawn and crab baguette and crab sandwich. Also some chips, which by the way are among the best I've had anywhere. The prawns and crab were lovely and fresh, even the bread was fresh tasting. The burgers were obviously from frozen but they were well cooked and tasted fine. All pretty good value. I didn't try the fish but having been impressed I think I might go back for more! Also, friendly staff and ideal beach location.

This place is famous for its views across the Solent, but only in the summer. In the winter the windows are always steamed up giving you near to no visibility outside. We didn’t eat but the menu looks good and average prices for the area. Drinks were more expensive than the Seaview Hotel just around the corner. +£1 per drink on gin & tonic. It was November on a Friday evening and all tables were reserved. We did sit at one of their best tables for our drink ‘Captain Ted’s Table’ and it was wobbly as hell. Felt like it was going to give way at any time. Come on this is an easy fix.

We have been here many times over the years and looked forward to our visit again this year. What a disappointment. We had a cream tea which consisted of a pot of tea, 2 scones, butter, cream and jam. The jam and cream pots were half the size they used to be and the butter was barely there, adequate enough for one scone but certainly not two. The jug of milk supplied did not have enough milk for one cup of tea and we had to ask for extra. I do not drink tea and asked for my tea to be substituted with coffee, big mistake, it was undrinkable. Went we went to pay we were told 'cash only' and I was lucky to find some cash in the bottom of my bag. This should be made clear when you enter and before you order as a lot of people do not carry cash. Our experience was so different to every other visit we wondered if there were 'new owners' but overheard the owner telling other visitors that she had been there 17 years. Sadly will not be returning.

Remember coming to this pub with my family when I was ten so had to come back 40 odd years later. Disappointed the coffin by the door was gone 😂 but it was a real highlight of our trip. Our dogs were welcomed and fussed over and the food at lunch was amazing, so tasty. Really friendly staff and all the facilities were spotless. Fantastic views over the garden too. A lovely trip down memory lane
